Deploy Visual Composer Models

Hi,
I have created a composite iview and deployed the same.It is getting deployed as Webdynpro application.I want to create a workset out of this. How do i do it.?

Error when deploying Visual composer model in NWDS

Hello Experts,
I am trying to run Visual composer model from inside NWDS. I have included a Web Dynpro application (with a public part) in the VC model.
When the VC model is compiled, it successfuly compiles and completes, However when i try to deploy it, i get an error saying "Warning: Could not find file <file path> to copy"
Any pointers in this regard will be really useful.

Error in deploying Visual Composer model

Hi experts.
We recently got problems with deploying our visual composer applications. It has worked well before. The compilation excecutes perfectly, but when the deployment starts I get the error:
"Error in executing a process for Flex compilation, Resource temporarily unavailable"
From the portal log:

Thank you. But the problem was resolved after a restart of the application server. We also had some other issues after a disk crash.

Not able to deploy a visual composer model

Hi All,
i am having an visual composer model which is developed and working in one portal.
And when i try to deploy the same model in another portal ( same version and patch )it is throwing some error which is mentioned in one of the <a href="https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/936390">SAP Note 936390</a>.
Branch between 7824 and 40595 around line 0 exceeds 32K span
But my question it is the problem in nesting views, then it should not even work on the portal where it has been developed.
Please let me know if there is anything to be done to make it deployed in the new portal.

Hi,
after doing deployment the model in the VC will be published in the Portal content.
You can define the path where you want to publish the Model in the Portal under portalk content in
(In VC) Tools->Options->Compiler->Deployment folder(mention the folder name in the portal content).

Integrate Visual Composer Model into CRM2007 web UI

Hi,
I have a requirement that executes a visual composer model inside the CRM UI. Links can be created for BI reports (3.x and 7.x) - however I am not able to call the deployed iView from the CRM UI.
One idea I had was to some how call / or embed a VC model in a web template. Hence I can link it using the normal BI - report links thus when the web template is executed it loads the deployed VC model. However this is easier sad than done...
Any one had this reqiurement before?

How to deploy Visual composer applications and set up the server

Hi ,
I have SAP Netweaver developer studio client installed on my Laptop and I can use it to create VC applications but I cannot visualise the applications since I don't have server.
Is there a server that I can install and configure? and what else do I need before I can successfully deploy visual composer applications.

Hi Bhat,
Please ping server whether it is reachable or not.
Please enter IP and host name in the host file (Start>>Drivers>>etc>>host file)
Then enter host and instance number in NWDS. then open server view through open perspective, it will show you whether server is up or not.

Hi Rajesh,
I had the same problem 2 months ago. Apply note 886209 (in the <compiler> element, find the <headless-server> parameter, and change it's value to true.Around line #146) and Deploy in VC must work.

Use Visual Composer models in GP NetWeaver CE 7.1

Hi to all,
i have a question regarding VC and GP on NetWeaver CE 7.1(trial version)
I have a compiled and deployed VC model - it is a normal UI.
I have created a CO from it and tried to use it in GP as action.
But the process never goes to the next step-have i missed something?
Should i do something like a special submit button or something like this?
How is the end of a step marked in GP?

Hi,
Whenever you use a VC iview CO in GP automatically a Submit button is provided at the top left corner of the main screen. Click on that to complete the step. Otherwise you can have your own Submit button on the VC storyboard and link an end action to it.

Error deploying Visual composer Application

Hi,
I have developed a simple VC application which compiles ok.
however when I select deploy I get the message:
Error in compiling Flex application: Warning: Cannot convert string "-monotype-arial-regular-r-normal--*-140-*-*-p-*-iso8859-1" to type FontStruct
Error 1103: There is no property with the name 'ROADMAP'.

Hi David,
can you post your model here? So that we can check it on our systems?
You can also make a copy of your model as backup then delete different parts and find the elements during try and error procedure.

How to get system information on a visual composer model

Hi,
We are trying to build a model that will use some images, since we can not add images to the VC library we need to call the images using an URL, but the problem is that we would like to avoid to hard code the URL, since that will create a problem when we move the models across the landscape (DEV-TST-PRD) and we were thinking to use the system information to build the URL using an expresion.
Is it possible to get the system information on VC? just to clarify if I can get the system ID (system name) that will help us to define the URL.
Is there any other best practices to handle URLs without hard coding them?

You can add images to yoru VC solution model directly by selecting from the tools menu --> Image Manager then loading yoru images.
You can now reference these images from within your model as variables. Two controls that support this directly are the command button or image control. You will see under their propoerties values the image "tab" - you can now associate images you loaded for the Image Manger dynamically.
If your images are large and you want to store items for your portal in an external reference (outside VC). E.g. KM repository. You can define a shorturl for it and set a hyperlink object using this from VC or use the PCD address where the object is stored.
If you are trying to collect the portal url from R3/BI you can use the RSPOR_T_PORTAL (Maintained by BASIS) table values by using the BAPI RSWR_PORTAL_CONFIG_GET which will allow you to establish teh portal url prefix remotely.
Trust this resolves your challenge.

Can Visual Composer applications only be created and deployed on EP?

We are working with Visual Composer on our Enterprise Portal box and I like it a lot. However, our company is investigating Microsoft Sharepoint as a possible candidate for Portals. This could mean that we are not going to use EP. I would like to know if it is possible to create and deploy Visual Composer applications if we don't have EP installed.
As VC is dedicated SAP technology I don't think this can work but I want to be be 100 % sure. Maybe there are other ways to run VC in a sharepoint portal that I don't know off?

Hi Angelique,
You need the SAP Enterprise Portal to run Visual Composer.
In the VC you create pages and iviews that need the enterprise portal services to run.

Visual Composer operates on top of the SAP NetWeaver portal, utilizing the portals connector-framework interfaces to enable access to a range of data services, including SAP and third-party enterprise systems. In addition to accessing mySAP ERP systems, users can access SAP Business Warehouse and any open/JDBC stored procedures..."

How to import of Visual Composer@browser models into Visual Composer@NWDS?

Hello,
some month ago, I started modeling a number of composite views with the browser version of the Visual Composer 7.1 SP 5. At this time, the corresonding NWDS did not provide an integrated Visual Composer.
Now, we have moved to the CE 7.1 EhP 1 SP 2. This time the NWDS provides an integrated Visual Composer. Unfortunately, the integrated Visual Composer does not display my models.
How can I import my Visual Composer models from the browser version to the NWDS version?

Hello Talia,
You can use Import/Export in order to move your models from Visual Composer@browser to Visual Composer@NWDS.
Although, I have been able to export my models from VC@browser, I have not succeeded in importing them into VC@NWDS. Can you please give me a hint how to do that?
But If you intend to add your models to DTR (Source Control repository) in the future, you should to add them to DTR in VC@browser first, import them in NWDS (using Development Infrastructure perspective) from the DTR, check out, continue modeling and check in at the end.
To this end, I have to configure the VC@browser to use the DTR, right? Can you please give me a hint how to perfom the required configuration?
