Deploy WebDynpro application without SDM password

Is it possbile to deploy WebDynpro application without SDM password? I have account with SAP_J2EE_ADMIN role.

hai,
go to server path
open the dos editor
go to this dir
usr/sap/j2e/jcXX/sdm/program
x:usr/sap/j2e/jcXX/sdm/program\>
StopServer
sdm jstartup "mode=standalone" "sdmhome=."
sdm deploy "sdmhome=." "file=xxx.ear" "onerror=stop"
sdm jstartup "mode=integrated" "sdmhome=."
StartServer
use the above commands one by one

hi all,we are having a server with ip address 172.25.5.115.but recently due to some reasons the is is changed to 172.25.4.114.earlier with previous ip we were able to use all the services like portal SDM...SDM for deploying web dynpro applications etc..very fine....but after the change of ip address we r still able to access the portal fine but not able to deploy the webdynpro applications.getting the error message.if some one have any ideas please help....

Problem while deploying WD application thru SDM

Hi friends ,facing problem while deploying webdynpro application on SDM.It takes much time deployment but for the past 1 or 2 day its not working properly ..i..e error is coming while deploying WD application................................................"Cannot login to the SAP J2EE Engine using user and password as provided in the Filesystem Secure Store. Enter valid login information in the Filesystem Secure Store using the SAP J2EE Engine Config Tool. For more information, see SAP note 701654.."
If how know how to resolve this then waiting for ur response..

Hi Hanif,
The SDM password should be reset if it is not the same as mentioned in your Filesystem Secure Store or vice versa.
If you have changed your administrator password, kindly do change the same in secure store as well via the config tool.
Use the Config Tool to change the entry in secure storage as follows:
1. Start the Config Tool.
           (Go to <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\<instance>\j2ee\configtool --> configtool.bat.)
2. Select the secure store node.
           The configuration for the secure storage in the file system appears.
3. Select the admin/password/<SID> entry.
4. Enter the administrator user's new password in the "Value" field and choose "Add".
5. Choose "File" --> "Apply" to save the data.
          Note: Contrary to the message that appears, you do not need to restart the server or cluster for this change to take effect.
6. Finally restart SDM server.

Problem asking for username and password when deploy WebDynPro application

Hi,
I try to deploy WebDynPro application to SAP JEE engine. When i deploy there is popup to put the user name and password.
I have on idea that which username should be used as the username because when i'm installing the SAP CE7.2. They just ask me to enter the only password but there is no username to key in. Please suggest me what is the username and password or how do i reset them.

SDM password when running and deploying webdynpro application

Hi
I developed a simple webdynpro application, no eventing just displays text. I rebuild it and then 'run and deploy' application. While doing this it pops up with a dialog box asking for a SDM password.
Is this deploying correctly?
Any assistance is much appreciated

Yes it is deploying correctly. Give sdm as password it sould work if you don't have changed the default password of SDM.

Using the Portal UserID and password provided we can do the basic development of webdynpros . I dont have SDM password with me to deploy the same on portal.
Is there any alternative to do a test run of the webdynpro application with out having SDM password ?

1. Execute the remoteGUI
<<Installed drive>>:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\SDM\program\RemoteGui.bat
2. Click the "Connect to SDM server" (Menu "SDM GUI --> Login")
3. Give the hostname (DYNPRO) and port (50018)
4. Enter the password and click login.
Check whether you are able to login or not. If you are not able to login through the RemoteGUI, then the password might be wrong. Check the password.

i installed WAS 6.40 sp 16 on my system its working fine. I can able to log in to the SDM as remoteGUI.bat using my sdm password.But while deploying the webdynpro appliation i am getting error like "java.rmi.RemoteException: Only Administrators have the right to perform this operation".
Using my administrator PWD i can log in to all the systems like Useradmin, SDM, J2E engine.
can any one help me....thanks in advance

i also had the same problem, i am able to log into SDM GUI through Remotegui.bat
but even though i had changed the password i am not able to deploy the applicaton to j2ee sever, through the NWDS. I tried deploying the applicaton in the
GUI of SDM there also it is giving like "Only Administrators have the right to perform this operation".
How to go to User Administration and where?is it in OS level or in Web AS Admin console?
Adding user admin (default password is also admin) to the Administrators group,
Go to: User Administration --> Groups and search for Administrators.
Then add user with ID admin in this group

It seems that some user is already logged into the system and using the services.
I don't how can you increase the number of session allowed in server.
But for now. You can just check who else is using server and ask them to stop.
You can restart the server and then try deployment. It will work then for you

From your post it resembels, you are deploying J2EE project!. Check have followed steps mentioned in the tutorial, creating, jar,war and EAr, check Java archive files, web arhive files put them in to EAR rebuild and deploy

I am trying to create a deploy an example available on SDN with the name TutWD_Flighlist . To restrict the development of this example application to the actual content covered, there is
a predefined Web Dynpro project template available in the SAP Developer Network (SDN)

TutWD_FlightList_Init.zip: Initial Web Dynpro project template
TutWD_FlightList.zip: Complete Web Dynpro project with access to ABAP functions
The document with this example tells me the following
The SAP System Landscape Directory (SLD) and the SLD bridge are configured and
running.
The SLD contains component information about all SAP software modules, the system
landscape description and the name reservation service.
The SLD bridge is used to transform the system data to the SLD server complient
format.
While installing the EP 6.0 SP9 sneak preview, the option of the SLD is disabled . The installation guide itself asks me to choose he option "No SLD available".
What I need to know can i develop/deploy this application on the sneak preview . Has anyone done that on sneak preview ? If yes then please let me know how .

\usr\sap\<SID>\JC00\j2ee\configtool
and change the heap size settings to 1024
Go to administration screen
Choose Content>import
Navigate to
<server>\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\SYS\global\sld\model \
import first Cimsap.zip and cr_content.zip (MS Windows) and then choose Open
Go to visual admin as explained above
Go to services>SLD Data Supplier
Go to HTTP Settings, enter the following
Host : localhost
Port : 50000
User :
Password :
Go to CIM Client Generation Settings on same window
Enter the following
Host : localhost
Port : 50000
User :
Password :
Select all the options on the right hand side in the domain "Icr" or "webdynpro"
After Saving the details click on CIMClient Test
A pop-up screen shows CIMOMClient object generation and connection test successful
Click Ok
Then configure your ABAP system by
going to
SLD -> Home -> Technical Landscape
