Deploying a Forms

Dear OTN Forum,
I make an installations of the Oracle 9iAS Rel 2 (9.0.2.0.1) by default (Infraestructure + Mid-Tier )
over a windows2000 server, but I didn´t install any Oracle DS component there. After that I copy *.fmx files there.
The questions are: Can I run a forms 9i in that server even though I didn´t install any Oracle 9iDS component?
What are the minimun services that I need to startup in an AS (9.0.2.0.1) in order to be able to run an aplications developed inform 9i?
Best regards,
Alfredo

Alfredo,
yes, you can run Forms on Oracle Application Server without installing Oracle Developer Suite. Oracle Application Server 9.0.2 requires you to install eeh full infrastructure and teh BI Forms option for the middle tier to run Forms. A smaller installation is possible with Oracle Application Server 10g.

    Hi Oscar,
Question - are you running your application as a static or
cartridge configuration. Either way, I would advise you to
check the code and codebase params for your applet. This
usually happens if there is a problem with the virtual directory
setting for the java jar's directory. If you are using a
cartridge, you need to check that the jar's directory is set up
on the listener, that this is reflected in the cartridge
parameters (assuming you are using variables), and that your
application is correctly picking up the cartridge at runtime.
The fastest way to check it is to temporarly set up a static
html file and run you application directly - this will give you
a clear indication where the problem lies.

    HI
Add Interactive form to existing view
    Go to properties of IForm.
Select trying display type = native instead of ActiveX.
Give height and width according to need (say height=700 px and width= 100%)
Add pdf_source attribute into context of view of type binary.
Also bind elements to context node which is necessary.

    problem 1:
i try to create a new url portlet in portal to display the developer form. i paste the link i got when running it from form builder (http://marpolas.marpol.si:8888/forms90/f90servlet?config=delavec1). i have the oc4j instance from forms developer running

    any ideas?
    problem 2:
i would like to have oc4j instance running forms inside portal, now i have to run the oc4j instance from Forms Developer to get my Forms working.
is the a nice step by step guide to create a new oc4j instance for forms?
    Thanks in advance
    Marjan

    Hi
Are you able to run the forms, if you give the URL Directly in the browser http://marpolas.marpol.si:8888/forms90/f90servlet?config=delavec1
I think it if working independently, then it should work in the portlet too as this portlet is just having a link for the URL.

have a problem in deploying developer forms on linux.
    how do i do that?
    urgent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You must compile a form under Linux.
To do that, you must have Developer/Server for Linux. After installing it, in $ORACLE_HOME/bin there will be a compiler - f60genm
