Deploying d2k applications on web

Dear all,
I would like to know what are the steps required to deploy aa existing d2k form or report on the WEB.
And what are the tools needed for the same and all.
Thanx & Regds,
Raj

Would you like me to clean your house and do your laundry, too? :-)
Start by reading the manuals and white papers on OTN. Then, if you have SPECIFIC questions on how to do something, this is the place to ask.

  • Deploying APEX application with web host

    Hi guys,
Whats the process of deploying APEX application with a webHost?
We got a good deal from a web host with dedicated database, it still being processed.
Currently we have a domain name hosted elsewhere (non APEX host) . What I am planning to do is, create a subdomain with our existing web host and point it to the IP address of the DB machine the apex host will give us.
So I am guessing the process will involve:
    1) getting the IP address of the database machine
    2) configure the my existing web hosting setup to create a sub-domain and make it point to the IP address (for example 174.184.223.441)
Would I need Port number of the machine running Oracle DB with APEX and the local IP address (the one starts with 10.0.0.xxx) etc?
Would be grateful if someone can share what you did given you already have a domain hosted and need to create a subdomain to make it point to another APEX host.

  • How to deploy flex2 application using web service to server

    Hi all.
I have created flex2 application in that i am calling
webservice, when i deployed this application to server the buttons
which calls webservice is not working it is showing error, i even
    uploaded crossdomain.xml to server,
please tell me how to deploy to server.
    thanks in advance

I have had the same or similar problem, in my case with
ColdFusion projects. I have uploaded several sample projects to my
shared hosting web server; all the projects that do not use a
server run fine, buit I have never been able to make the CF
projects run. I have posted about this two or three times, but
    nobody ever answered.
Maybe our question was too stupid to deserve an answer from
busy people. I never thought of this, but today I got an email from
my Hosting provider. Quoting part of that message:
“We will be performing a ColdFusion upgrade to CFMX
    7.02 on the
server where your account(s), timo, mochica, is/are hosted.
    We have
scheduled the upgrade to take place between 3:00 AM EDT and
    6:00 AM
EDT on Saturday, August 5th, 2006.
We do not anticipate more than 15 minutes of downtime once
    the
    maintenance begins .....”
Also, I found that the projects that do run require all those
files that are generated when FB builds the project, so I have been
uploading the entire output folder (usually, but not always,
    ‘bin’).
I’m hoping I won’t have any more problems after
    Saturday.
    Peace,

  • Deploying existing application on Web

    Hello,
My current application is on Oracle 8.0.4 on HP-Unix and
    Developer 2000 2.1., Windows NT / 95.
I want to deploy this application on the web.
I am confused as to which Middle tier should I use, Developer
Server, Web DB or Oracle Application Server.
What is the difference between Developer Server, WebDB and Oracle
    Application Server?
Whether I will have to redevelop the forms and reports or
I can use the existing ones for the web deployment.
Do I have to learn Java or HTML ?
Can I use WebDB alongwith Oracle Application Server? If yes,
what are the additional benefits of using both?
    Hoping for urgent reply.

    Hi
The answer for deployning your current application in forms and
    reports is,
you don't have to redevelop your application again.
Developer Server allows to deploy existing forms and reports on
    to the web.
Developer Server sits on top of Oracle Applicaiton Server (OAS)
and makes use of web listener component in OAS.
The solution is that you would have to get Developer Server.
You really don't need to learn java or HTML to deploy your
existing forms and reports to the web.
Take a look at the Developer server and webdb links on technet,
they have of technical info and other stuff.

  • Deploying Developer applications on Web

    Hi Everyone,
I want to deploy our present Client/Server application
developed using Developer 2000 Rel 2.1 on the
    web.We have OAS 4.0 on NT.This is where I am stuck.I cannot
access the properties under the HTTP Listener I have
created. This is where I want to specify the Virtual vs Physical
Directory mapping.By properties I mean when I expand the
Listener node example mytserver:mylistener I see properties such
as Network, Language, Directory etc The machine I am runnning
OAS on has 128 MB RAM.Oracle suggested me to go for 256MB and
reinstall OAS.Is it really neccessary.I am trying to implement
the non-catridge deployment by modifying the static.html. But
since I havent been able to set the properties for the listener
I cannot run the form.I have installed Forms server on the
machine which runs OAS.Can someone help..
    Thanks

  • Order of Deployment across Applications

Is there any way I can set Weblogic to load certain applications first before the
    others are loaded.
In my case, I have an Ear file "A" which is dependent on another EAR File "B"
to be started first. ("A" has a MDB which sends stuff to B immediately after deployment.
So if "B" is not started, it fails till "B" is deployed).\
Is it based on the entries in teh config.xml? config.xml keeps swapping entries
up and down whenever we make a change to XML. So how do i guarantee that applicatin
    "B" gets loaded before "A"?
    Thanks in advance
    Raj

By default, WebLogic Server deploys Enterprise Applications, EJBs, Web Applications, and Web Services deployed immediately after its subsystems initialize at boot time. Startup classes are deployed and run after application modules have been deployed.
The actual deployment order of modules is determined by their Load Order attribute. By default, new applications and modules are configured with a Load Order value of 100. Modules with a lower Load Order value are deployed before those with a higher value during startup. Modules with the same Load Order value are deployed in alphabetical order using the deployment name.
Follow these steps to view or change the deployment order of modules deployed to the WebLogic Server domain:
    Hi
    1. Select the Deployments node in the left pane. The right pane displays all modules configured for deployment in the domain, listed in their current deployment order.
    2. Select the Change button next to a module name to display the Change Deployment Order page.
    3. Enter a new value in the Load Order field, and click Apply to apply your changes. The again displays the complete list of modules configured for deployment in the domain.
To change the deployment order of a Startup class, follow the instructions in Configure a Startup or Shutdown Class.

i am using oracle as my back end
anybody plz help me as soon as possible.........

    Hi,
I am not sure what some of your phrases mean but i want to clarify a couple of things.
    0) Be happy to make the switch
    1) SJAS contains a webserver, where iPlanet appserver did not and one was forced to put a webserver in front of the appserver.
    2) The iplanet webserver plugin was configured to forward all request which have /NasApp to the appserver, using the KCP protocol, SJAS LB plugin is configured on a webapplication context root base using http and or https protocol.
    3) If your logic needs the HTML pages (which is doubtful in a proper design) the pages must reside on the appserver.
    4) Deployment to SJAS can be done through asadmin CLI, deploytool or webbased admin GUI instead of just putting the EAR in the autodeploy directory.

  • Deploying a Java CORBA application in Web Start

I am a novice to Java Web Start. I have a sample Client-Server application with CORBA as a middle ware. The front end (Client) is in Java and back end (Server) is in C++. The application is run and tested with jar and batch file. Now I want to deploy that application in Java Web Start and JNLP.
I have configured the same by creating a JNLP file and signed jars.
Now as all knows any CORBA application needs a domain file ( .cfg ) and some org.omg classes to communicate with the server by RPC.
I am stuck with how to specify these domain file name, path, CORBA classes etc in my JNLP. Not even that, I can't understand exactly what configuration will make the CORBA apps work properly in Java Web Start so that it can communicate with the server as well. All the Orbix jars's, IDL Stub jars are present and signed. I am giving my JNLP file as a reference. Actually I have tried adding these domain files and CORBA classes as parameters. But as usual it is not working and after running the JNLP the Java console suddenly gets disappeared.

As you can see I maintained the same folder structure as it was when running from batch file. The jars I am using is signed and kept in lib_6.3-Signed folder.
    My updated "CORBADemo.jnlp" is :

*1. I am running the Tomcat server in my own machine on port 8400 ( for sure, as I have deployed many .war files using this tomcat and all worked ). And using the URL below running the WebStart application.*
*2. I am running the JNLP from my own machine.*
*3. CORBA server is running on a remote RHEL 5 machine as I mentioned before also.*
    URL : http://<My Machine IP>:8400/Test_CORBA_App/
As desired the Web Start application will make a call to the remote CORBA server on RHEL5 machine by initializing the ORB and resolving the CORBA NamingService. But exception is occurring as I posted in previous post i.e exception while resolving NamingService.
Now my query is whether the domain file ( DOMAIN.cfg ) is reading/ accessing properly from my machine while running the JNLP or not. Because I presume in Java Web Start special attention is required to read any .cfg file. If everything is fine why the error is occurring.
*@ EJP :* The ORB is desired to run and running on the CORBA Server remote macine i.e RHEL5 machine, because from batch file it is working fine.
Is it so that I need to run the Tomcat Web Server and CORBA Server from the same machine.

  • Portal Application deployment problem to Managed Web Server

I'm trying to deploy an ADF application using JSR168 portlets to a Managed Web Server on WebCenter 11g and I'm getting the following error in the log file after running the portal.jsp (I get 'Portlet unavailable' on the browser page):
oracle.adf.model.portlet.binding.PortletBindingException: The metadata for portlet binding TasksPortlet1_1 was not found in MDS.
When I deploy the application from JDeveloper to the Managed Web Server I get the following error (The application does deploy successfully):
Error during portlet export. Portlets will not be available in the target application. Context: input mds repository file path = C:\JDeveloper\mywork\Mindflow\mds. output mds repository file path = C:\JDeveloper\mywork\Mindflow\.mdsExport. input connections file path and name = /C:/JDeveloper/mywork/Mindflow/.adf/META-INF/connections.xml. export ID = /oracle/adf/portlet/export. producer/portlet IDs to export: [oracle/adf/portlet/MindFlowWsrpPortletProducer].
However if I right-click on the portal.jsp page and select Run from JDeveloper and run it within the Integrated WLS it does run fine there.
Is there something special that needs to be set for the Deployment on either the application or project? Or is there something that needs to be setup via the web-based Adminstrative Console (I have verified that the MindFlowWsrpPortletProducer is registered on the Admin console)?
    Thanks,
    Randy Skold

Thanks for the reply ... here is the answer to your questions along with an update to some more information after trying something different
Did you deploy the WebCenter Managed server from Jdeveloper
I am deploying the application to the WebCenter Managed server from JDeveloper.
What managed server did you deploy it to - a custom server that you created?
Yes this is a custom Managed Server (called MindFlow). At the time of your response the only two servers up and running on WebCenter was the AdminServer and MindFlow.
    Did the deployment go through?
    Yes
Are there any errors in the managed server log when you access the page?
Yes these where the errors showing that it could not connect with the metadata via the repositories.
    Now for the update:
I went ahead and started up the WLS_Portlet managed server that comes with WebCenter. When I did this I got the following error:
WSM-04509: cannot initialize the connection to the data store
I then deployed the Portlet Producer Application to the WLS_Portlet from JDeveloper. I then grabbed the url for the newly created portlet producer and updated the connection on the Portal application. After doing this and updating the portal.jspx file, I then deployed the Portal application to the MindFlow managed web server. I then brought up the portal.jspx page via a browser and was able to bring back results. The only issue now is that while doing this I got multiple MDS errors (including the initialize error above) and not sure if I can ignore these or not. One of the errors received was as follows:
oracle.mds.exception.MDSException: MDS-01258: The value @MDS_CLASS for property class-name is invalid.
