Deploying FMS 3 in multipla linux boxes

Greetings!!!
We are planning to install a Flash Media Server 3 on two
linux boxes for load balancing with VIP URL for those. This is a
simple application for capturing media for not more than a minute.
Wanted to know what are the drawbacks and advantage of
deploying in multiple boxes.
Thanks,

I dont know... The guy that set up FMS couple years ago  was able to connect to the FMS without any scripts to my knowloege, Once he got it done, all I had to do is upload videos to FTP and the videos stayed on the website.
==============================
This is what I have in a email:
Your all uploaded  video should go under "/public_html/wp-content/uploads"  directory.
Streaming server will fetch videos from this directory, for your  information this is a link created for FMS-Streaming application.
You can  generate directory tree under "/public_html/wp-content/uploads".
And you can generate RTMP path by following way.
/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/lesson_01.flv
will become
rtmp://11.11.11.11/vod/?id=streams/uploads/2009/06/lesson_01.flv
==============================
So, I guess what my question is how do get the FMS to fetch the videos I upload?  I kind figure I need to edit the "Application.xml" or the "fms.ini"... but what?

  • Access a dll file for an oracle adf app deployed on weblogic on linux box

    Hi:
    My department is trying to move an oracle adf application from oracle application server to weblogic 10.3 application server. After trying for a few weeks, everything looks fine except that the application is not able to access a dll file. For this adf application we use a dll file which is a C program to allow us to grab ip address and mac address for every user's computer for security reason. On our oracle application server on a linux box, everything is fine and the application is able to use access the dll fine. Technically, it is how the dll work. In our login.jspx, we declare a object:
    <OBJECT id="objMacAddr" height="0" width="0" classid="CLSID:D69161F0-C2BB-4212-9B67-62B908A07726" codebase="RMacAddress.dll#Version=1,0,0,1">
    when the user access our web application, the browser grab the dll file from the server while loading the page and a java script function in the page uses the dll file to grab the ip address and mac address for user's computer.
    It works on oracle application server. However, it does not work on Weblogic 10.3 server. Does anyone have similar experience? We have been told by oracle support that Weblogic 10.3 server does not recognize the dll file at all. One thing I don't understand is that both our oracle application and weblogic 10.3 are on linux box. Why dll works on oralce application server but not on weblogic 10.3 server? This issue has bothered us for quite a few weeks already. I just hope that anyone on this forum gives us some kind of hint or direction.
    Thanks,
    Jack

    Also,
    I checked the "monitoring" window of my datasource on weblogic server and saw that there are no failed database connections. So, the problem of a broken database connectivity can be ruled out.

  • Multiple AIA instances on same Linux box

    H,
    Can multiple SOA instances be deployed on same linux box then with AIA on top of it.
    Can some one pls answer this?
    Regards,
    Rakesh

    Yes you can but:
    Each SOA installation must be in his own ORACLE_HOME directory.
    Each AIA installation must be in his own ORACLE_HOME directory.
    You must point to different databases. You can not have mulitple SOA schema's in one sinlge database.

  • Issues with multiple SOA developers on a Linux box

    We have several developers using JDeveloper TP4 on a Linux box. This works well until more than one attempts to start the embedded OC4J application server.
    The first works well, but when another developer attempts to start a second instance, s/he gets told that the needed ports are already in use. It asks if it should try a different set of ports. Choosing yes does not work. I can provide more detail about the failure if needed.
    We've also tried picking a completely different set of ports from Tools -> Preferences -> Run: Edit Server Instances: Server Instances -> Default Server -> Startup. That also did not appear to work.
    I'd really like to have a solution that allows concurrent development and testing on this Linux box. Any suggestions and help is appreciated.

    Thanks for your reply. I tried this and ran into the following:
    1. The application working directory appears to be $JOH/j2ee/home as opposed to jdevinstance/system11.1.1.0.22.49.49/o.j2ee/embedded-oc4j/config. I put my properties files in the former and was able to load them. I was surprised that this wasn't the config subdirectory. Is there something I should have done differently?
    2. How do I debug my web application that I deploy in this manner? I am able to deploy my web project to the stand-alone OC4J instance, but if I right-mouse on my web service and select "Debug", it doesn't let me choose in the stand-alone OC4J. It only lists the embedded one as a choice.
    3. While it appears to have deployed my web application (as seen in the executable's output and via the application servers navigator), my BPEL project is unable to communicate with it when JDeveloper tries to compile it (Load of wsdl "..." failed and Cannot find Port Type "..." for "..." in WSDL Manager. This leads me to believe that the web service wasn't properly deployed.
    So, any suggestions on how to proceed?
    Thanks again.

  • Multiple SOA instances run on Same Linux BOX

    Hi,
    Can multiple SOA installed be installed on same Linux box? Can someone pls answer this.
    Regards,
    Rakesh

    it should be supported; It is just a new installation of SOA Suite into a new directory structure. Keep in mind that you need to have different databases to hold up the SOA Schema's. Note that from release 11g, you can have multiple SOA schema's into a single database instance.

    Hello,
    I'm trying to install OBIEE on a Linux box. The repository was created using a Windows PC on a separate Oracle database on another server.

    I've checked the configuration and there is nothing wrong with it, plus I have checked connectivity from the weblogic server and the Linux server to this. Also I do not have Enterprise edition everything I do is at console level in Linux.
    Please help. I've been trying to sort through this for a long time.
    Thanks.

    Becky,
    You need not do any thing additional to have EM running in the OBI 11g instance. Although it is a deployed JEE application, if your Weblogic Server (WLS) is started and up and running then your EM Console should also be up and running.
    You say that you are doing everything from the command line. So, start the Weblogic Server then navigate to http://< your server name> : 7001/console
    If that comes up then go to
    http://<your server name>:7001/em
    That is your EM Fusion Console and it should come up as well.
    Don't mess with the XML file directly.

  • How to set and static ip_address for a Suse Linux box

    Hi.
    I've done the following to set an static ip address for my Suse 9 Linux box:
    - Take not of inet address value from ifconfig command. ie: (172.17.2.14)
    - Change this value in /etc/hosts for my linux box.
    Since Suse is configure by default to use DHCP for assigning dinamic ip_addresses i'm not sure whether will lastly be set as a static address. I've rebooted my box and it seems to be OK.
    Thanks in advance ...!

    /etc/hosts is not configuration file for ethernet interfaces.
    Configuration files for ethernet interfaces are stored in /etc/sysconfig/network directory.
    For example if you have eth0 device then configuretion for this device is stored in /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0 file.
    Important directives:
    DEVICE - interface (eth0)
    IPADDR - IP address of interface
    NETMASK - netmask
    BOOTPROTO - "static" for static configuration, dhcp for dynamic configuration via dhcp
    ONBOOT - activating interface during boot (yes/no) (yes - of course :-) )
    GATEWAY - default gateway
    So for example you want setup static IP (192.168.10.1 / 255.255.225.0) for eth0 interface.
    Edit the /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0 file and your configuration should be:
    DEVICE=eth0
    IPADDR=192.168.10.1
    NETMASK=255.255.255.0
    BOOTPROTO=static
    ONBOOT=yesThen you simply restart the nework using:
    /etc/init.d/network restartOR
    /sbin/ifdown eth0
    /sbinf/ifup eth0 OR
    ifconfig eth0 down
    ifconfig eth0 up

  • How can I resolve slow browsing in finder when connected to a share point on a linux box?

    Hi,
    I am having huge difficulties when browsing a share point that is on a Linux box. I am connecting to it with a Macbook Pro running Lion 10.7.5.
    Initially there was an SMB share point setup on the server which was extremely slow to browse. I then setup an AFP sharepoint thinking that would help with the issue but it hasn't made a difference at all. The issue is that files take forever to load when browsing using Finder. Moving between folders on the sharepoint takes extremely long since files are slow to load.
    There are very few options available on line to help with this and so far none of them have worked. I think the problem is with Finder and the way it indexes the files but I could be wrong.
    Please help!
    Nabeel

    Hey Brenda, this isn't 'Safari' I believe this is your Modem/Router to solve this issue please look on the bottom/side of your internet box, and find the codes. But I also believe, when starting up your modem/ Internet box when you first actually received it you had to sign up, this is the only way in order for you to receive this message. Please contact your Internet providers.
    Try Uninstalling Safari!
    Have you tried to press cancel to see if that helps?
    See if this happens on any other browser

  • How can I see the numbers of lines selected in a Multiple Selection Box?

    Hi everybody,
    what I want to do is to get in an array of numbers all the lines selected.
    For instance, if I select the rows 1,4 and 7 from a Multiple Selection Box
    of 10 rows in total, how can I see that array when the rows 1,4 and 7 are
    selected?
    Because I want to connect this numbers to Case Structure and if the only
    rows selected are 1,4 and 7, the Case Structure will only realize this cases,
    and the rest will be ignored.
    I'm sure there is some way to get what I want.
    Thank you for your helpful.

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH. IT WORKS PERFECTLY!!!

    How can multiple check boxes be added at one time to a form?

    Thanks for your response, but copying and pasting creates a link. If the user places a check mark in one of the boxes, all the rest of the boxes will have a check mark also. I will research this some more.

  • Unable to connect to SQL Server 2008 from OBIEE 11G(on 64 bit Linux box)

    We are unable to connect to connect to SQL Server 2008 from OBIEE 11G which is on 64 bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
    Infrastructure: OBIEE 11.1.1.5 64bit, on 64 bit Red Hat Linux Enterprise Linux 5.6 , MS SQL Server 2008 on 64 bit Microsoft Windows Server
    Issue Description: Unable to connect to SQL Server 2008 from OBIEE11G RPD
    Details: We are unable to connect to SQL Server 2008 from OBIEE which is on a 64 bit Linux box. We created the ODBC connection on Linux box to the SQL server. Whenever we try to import metadata it throws an error that says ‘Connection Failed’.
    Here are the steps we followed to setup the ODBC connection on Linux box.
    1) We updated the user.sh file with the LD_LIBRARY_PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH_64 values that point to $ORACLE_HOME/bifoundation/odbc/lib
    This is where we found the driver for SQL server SEmsss23.so.
    2) We updated the odbc.ini file with the entry for SQL server with the connection details
    SI_SQL_Server_DEV = SQL Server
    [SI_SQL_Server_DEV]
    Driver=/u001_OAS/Oracle/Middleware/Oracle_BI1/bifoundation/odbc/lib/SEmsss23.so
    Description=DataDirect 5.1 SQL Server Wire Protocol
    Address=10.230.216.52,54970
    AlternateServers=
    AnsiNPW=Yes
    ConnectionRetryCount=0
    ConnectionRetryDelay=3
    Database=SVBDW_NEW
    LoadBalancing=0
    LogonID=SIDatavalidation
    Password=~~~Password123
    QuoteID=No
    ReportCodePageConversionErrors=0
    3) We updated the IDENTIFIER_QUOTE_CHAR with single quotes instead of double quotes in the DB features of the RPD
    4) We updated the bash_profile file to point the ODBCINI variable to the path where the OBIEE odbc.ini file is present.
    Export ODBCINI=/u001_OAS/Oracle/Middleware/instances/instance1/bifoundation/OracleBIApplication/coreapplication/setup/odbc.ini
    The error in nqsserver.log file says “[nQSError: 16001] ODBC error state: IM002 code: 0 message: [DataDirect][ODBC lib] Data source name not found and no default driver specified.”

    Hi,
    Make sure SQL Configuration Manager make sure the TCP/IP enabled. please try below method
    Method 1
    Re Create a new ODBC & Oracle Bi Server DSN Configuration test it and use it in the connection pools.
    define your ODBC data source in your server where the BI Server is installed. Check your DB connections in your physical layer and make they are defined on your BI Server as well.
    Method 2:
    try using the complete TNS in below format in the datasource name section:
    (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST =DB IP)(PORT = 1521)) ) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = ORCL) ) and provide the credentials.
    Method 3:
    To use the OCI call interface you need to have oracle client DB to be installed so that you can establish a connection using that DB credentials and connect to the remote dB and then import the tables.....this is the rule of thumb.
    hope helps you.
    Thanks
    Deva
