how do i deploy an application so that they are executable when i just double click them....i've tried jar files but i need to type the command in the command line to execute them...

You can even create a .bat (.sh) file to execute your jar.

I guess u r running apache-jserv as servlet engine for your jsp and servlets. If its so, jsp files can be run without any additonal configuration by putting the jsp file under document root or any subdirectory and for running servlets u have to add classpath entries for your servlet in jserv.properties file.
To make sure that your servlet engine is working, try
http://servername:port/servlet/IsItWorking, if u get success msg that means servlet engine is working fine.

In 10g version I could create a deployment profile for deploying java class directly to the database from within jdeveloper. Looks like when you create a deployment profile in 11g that is no longer an option. Has the process changed, or was that functionality flat out removed?

The concept of 'hot deployment' is still a bit unclear to me in terms of implementation. I followed the links provided by you but they explained theory and no steps to implement it.

I downloaded his sample project : https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/webcontent/uuid/3091fdd3-a999-2910-f18f-eae1386d2ae0
I imported it in my studio, replaced appropriate jar files to get it in rebuildable state and then deployed it on portal.
After deployement and restarting the server, I created and applied the new layout controller to the layout set of KM iview.
This time however a blank KM page was displayed.
I checked the deploy messages in NWDS, it showed me following warning and info messages:
1. com.sap.portal.plugins.config-archiver: Config archive successfully created (time to export 578 ms)
2. com.sap.portal.plugins.config-archiver: Invalid structure (missing /FlexibleUIComponents/src.config/install/meta/expanded folder)
3. com.sap.portal.plugins.config-archiver: No privateArchive.properties file is defined.
Please note, I have not modified anything in the downloaded sample project, just fixed it with required jar files picked up from the server directories.
I am using SP15 NWDS and EP server is 7.00SP16.
As a beginner, I just want to first get this downloaded sample project implementation correct.
Please let me know corrections/pointers for this. It would be highly appreciated.

I write some java class and put them into the weblogic\class folder to
replace the old java class files.
When I run the program, the server still run the old java class.
But when I restart the server, the server runs new java class.
The server must restart, when I want to run new java class?

Which version are you using? Folder strucure differs for 11i and R12 versions.
All the class files will be placed under the JAVA_TOP folder. From there you have to follow your package structure. Here it is oracle/apps/xxogl/f04/cp/file

Where to place an xml file that is read by java class file dir structure

Hello all,
I have an xml file that I am using in lieu of a database to track conference rooms . This is a small file. I need to read this file from my java class file which is used by a jsp. Currently I have an absolute path C://logger/conference.xml. All works fine but I need to deploy to a different machine soon and so I need to place this file somewhere in the project directory structure (created by netbeans) so that it will be included in the war file and can be read by the java class file.
Also what would be the relative path to this suggested directory.

Well, I believe you could write JNI to call the functions in the DLLs, although I wouldn't recommend it. (You'd have a non-portable, fragile result.)

No, it is not possible to do what you are suggesting. Yes, you could produce a DLL that wraps the JVM and loads your java class exposing a C and/or C++ callable interface, but that is a lot to go through unless your class is VERY complex. Otherwise, you might want to just create and maintain two implementations.

How to access variables declared in java class file from jsp

i have a java package which reads values from property file. i have imported the package.classname in jsp file and also i have created an object for the class file like
classname object=new classname();
now iam able to access only the methods defined in the class but not the variables. i have defined connection properties in class file.
in jsp i need to use
statement=con.createstatement(); but it shows variable not declared.
con is declared in java class file.
how to access the variables?

Converting Java class file to .dll

Dear all,
Is there any way to convert a Java class file to a .dll file?
(Background being that there is a software that only allows callouts to DLLs and the method I have developed is in Java so need to convert it to a .dll)
Any insight/advice/pointers are most appreciated.

Yes you can convert a Java Class to DLL file using Microsoft Visual J#.NET (Installation required Visual Studio.NET) you can download it from the microsoft site.

then go for search below in combo box(Visual J#.NET). After installation open new project select class library. write your java code(not fully supported j2se). build your application. All the Java Code is embeded in dll. Found at e.g. C:/JavaToDll/bin/debug/JavaToDll.dll This is a way to convert Java Code to a dll. frankly speaking i do not like .NET (copy of Java Technology must be baned completely).

Problem in finding java class file

I am writting an application using servlets , JSP and a simple java classfile. The simple java class file is for connection pool and the name of connection pool class is DBConnectionManager . I am using JavaWebserver2.0 and I have placed this class file in .\JavaWebserver2.0\classes
I am placing my servlets in .\JavaWebserver2.0\servlets folder. Since I am using wfm package so my servlets are placed in .\JavaWebserver2.0\servlets\wfm .
The problem is with compiling the servlet placed in wfm folder . I get the following error:-
TestServlet.java:11:cannot resolve symbol
symbol: class DBConnectionManager
location: class wfm.TestServlet
However when I try to compile this class in servlets folder and remove the package statement from the source file, it compiles and works very fine. I am having lot of confusion as the class DBConnectionManager is in classpath but even then compiler gives error. The same class when placed in servlets folder and package statement is removed works very fine.
Kindly help.

Does the TestServlet import the package that contains the DBConnectionManager?
