Deploying JavaFX mobile app on SkyDrive
Hello,
I am trying to test a JavaFX mobile app on my phone: LG600G. The phone's CLDC is 1.1 and the MIDP is 2.0, so it can run Java Midlets. Unfortunately, I can't send the .jad file or jnlp file to it across Bluetooth and choose the "install" option. The option isn't available, so I am trying to deploy store the .jad .jnlp and .jar files on my Windows SkyDrive. I can't figure out how to do it correctly though. Could someone tell me what I should point my phone's browser to? Should I point it to the .jnlp file or the jad file? Also, how do I set the codebase of the jnlp file? If someone has done this before, and you have a link to some tutorial, I could use that too!

This phone doesn't seem to be powered by Windows Mobile, so JavaFX won't work on it.

Getting Error while deploying ADF Mobile App in android Emulator

I am getting following error while deploying mobile app into android emulator........i have gone through google search and i hve done with all the steps...as follows
1. keytool -genkey -v -keystore debug.keystore -alias androiddebugkey -keyalg RSA -keysize 2048 -validity 10000
i gave password, last name ,organization, state and country
2. jarsigner -sigalg MD5withRSA -digestalg SHA1 -verbose -keystore /Users/Admin/.android/debug.keystore C:\JDeveloper\mywork\GeneralMobileApp\deploy\ANDROID_MOBILE_NATIVE_archive1/generalmobileapp.apk
3. /platform-tools/adb -e install -r C:\JDeveloper\mywork\GeneralMobileApp\deploy\ANDROID_MOBILE_NATIVE_archive1/generalmobileapp.apk
After the above step...i got SUCCESS message(while running the above step in command prompt ).........
Even after that.... I am getting same error while deploying my app using jdeveloper into android emulator.....

Using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0.... with Mobile App plugin.
I am working on deploying an Andriod mobile app to the emulator and most of the time I get the following....
Deployment failed due to one or more errors returned by 'C:\Temp\adt-bundle-windows-x86\sdk\platform-tools\dx.bat'. The following is a summary of the returned error(s):
Command-line execution failed (Return code: 1)
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
Once in a great while I get it to work and the app deploys but 90% of the time I get this error.
I do start the emulator up before I even fire up JDeveloper so the emulator is up and running OK when i go to delpoy.
Any suggestions?

Usually, this happens when there is no JDK in the PATH system variable. JDeveloper and WLS will work, but some external tools will fail. Can you please ensure that you have a reference to the <tt>bin</tt> subfolder of a Java SE 6 JDK in it? You should get something like this when you execute <tt>java -version</tt> on the command line:
java version "1.6.0_37"

How to install/deploy JavaFx Mobile application on real mobile devices.
Hi,
I had gone through the internet and various links but i'm unable to find the solution regarding how to deploy the application made with JavaFx mobile on real mobile devices. There was some link in which it was written you can install the application in Nokia 40 5edition phone, i tried to install in Nokia 6600 Slider through bluetooth; so while installing the application it shows an error as "Invalid Application".
I'm also facing same problem which others are also facing as Application is not compatible when i tried to install in Nokia N95.
So, if anybody knows the method/technique to deploy the application in real mobile devices i'll be grateful to him.

GauravThanks Michael for the reply. I also tried to install one simple application made with JavaFx Mobile in Sony-Ericsson JP-8 platform(K850i, W910i). While installing the application it pop-up the error "Operation Failed".
So, is there any way to install the application in current available mobile devices in the market or not??

Failed to deploy ADF Mobile app on Android device

I created an application using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.3 .While deploying to android device ,I am getting the ‘INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE’ error. The size of the apk file is 22.6 MB while the free space on device is 1.84 GB.

Could you please help me to identify the possible reason for this.Yes, we copied the app file to an android device and installed it using 'PackageInstaller' but the application did not open up and gave the following error:
The copy of the connections.xml file from the bundle to the configuration service managed location has failed. Could not create destination file : /null/oracleconfigservice/.adf/META-INF/connections.xml. This indicates a failed bundling of the application. Shutting down.

I was facing the same error after installing the Patches for (Mobile app Designer) and so many restarts of all OBIEE components as well as the server,
nothing worked except the same Error 404 for the last couple of days.
then here goes the path for getting the issue fixed juts now.
1: Verify the Patches applied for the Mobile app Designer
2: followed the blog step by step for the process to get completed.

3:after applying the patches and deploying theOBI Mobile App Designer (MAD) manually using WebLogic configuration the bounce all the services on the OBI (all components)
4:the Run the Security Configuration as described in the blog . it wil give error if the services of console is not started as it awaits for the port 7001 of weblogic
5: after the successful completion of the security configuration restart all bi components on the OBI side and wiat for all the services to come up
now i logged in and click on New Mobile APP it worked as expected and it resolved the issue.

With Audit logging you can check if the client used is for Web or Web service client. However this does not differentiate between Outlook or Mobile client as both use web service to access.

Thanks for the fast response.
Based on your advice, I had try to comment out all usage of graph in jsp, web.xml, and data binding file.
But even after perform these, I still facing the same problem.
For your information, RichSeriesSetHandler does not exist in the oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.bi.facelets.
I suspecting RichSeriesSetHandler is configured in the app and it occur this error as it could not find the class.
I had try to search this usage of this class in the app but there is no results found. -
JavaFX Mobile refuses to run my apps
I am currently trying to familiarize myself with the JavaFX platform, especially the mobile aspects. I am having trouble with the JavaFX Mobile runtime.
I am unable to run any apps of my own. I am using the newest NetBeans environment to compile everything and create the jar/jad package. I am able to upload the package to my mobile device, install it without any error, and see it listed in the app list of the JavaFX launcher. However, when I attempt to launch my apps, it appears to be starting normally but nothing ever shows up except the "exit" menu item. I get no errors of any kind, just nada.
Thinking that I was doing something wrong due to my inexperience with the new scripting language, I downloaded some apps from javafx.com and tried those. They don't work either. However, the four apps that come pre-installed with JavaFX mobile (calculator, tweeter, etc) all work fine. Things I compile with NetBeans work just fine in the emulator, but not on my device in real life.
Can anyone let me know what is going on? Is there an error log somewhere that I can look at? Thanks for any help.

Edited by: metalliqaz on Dec 9, 2009 8:39 AMI tested newly released "JavaFX Mobile 1.2 for Windows Mobile" from javafx.com on HTC Diamond together with NetBeans 6.8 with all necessary updates and everything works fine. I believe it should work also on your HTC Touch Pro 2. The problem might be caused by using JavaFX early access, please try with reference release (released last week).
You can enable logging via Remote Registry Editor or whatever registry editor on windows mobile by setting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SUN\JVM\LoggingAllowed to value 3.
Then the log file containing text output is \\\JavaFX\Java\java.txt -

Hi, i'm a .net developer, so i'm totally new to FB platform. I've reading and making samples to understand how FB developing works and ai have a very important question. I'm using PHP Webservices wizard to create the php webservices classes to get and save data on my database. What must i do to deploy this webservices to my production server? Where are the local webservice url's so i can change to the production server?
I want to know if i have to install something (AMF) on my production server.

Error message when I try to publish aa application with BI Mobile App Designer

We had last month a product demonstration of BI Mobile App Designer by Oracle's commercial.
Following this demonstration, I installed and deployed this module on one of our OBIEE server 11.1.7.141014
I thus tested the BI Mobile App Designer product by creating two smartphone applications that worked perfectly.
The problemis that since a few days, I can not access one of my applications from my smartphone.
From OBI, I then load my application and tried to publish it again, but I get the error message :
oracle.xdo.webservice.exception.OperationFailedException: PublicReportService::generateReportParametersDefinition
Failure: Due to oracle.xdo.servlet.data.DataException: oracle.xdo.XDOException:
oracle.xdo.das.DASException: BISvsException on getting a JBIPS member query data.
Then I tried to duplicate my "Mobile App" and rename it and when I tried to publish it I get the error :
French message :

Make sure that the configuration file is defined for the application library.

In relation to the second error, I have had this before and it related to be below so this may help: Check the following file:
<DOMAIN_HOME>/config/bipublisher/repository/Admin/Configuration/xmlp-server-config.xml
Check that the following line matches were you are trying to publish your apps on OBIEE. The default is normally "Apps Library" but you can name this folder anything you like.
Just change the below line and point to the folder. Restart the services BIMAD.

Facing problem to display the content in Android Emulator of my mobile app

I have developed an adf mobile application as in the following and i successfully deployed my app in android emulator.....

i can view my app in android emulator.......but if i open it i am getting a blank (white) screen in emulator......i don't know wat's happening.

Yes Android emulator is very problematic, and there are certain out of box emulator configurations that would not even start up on a reasonably powerful PC.
What works typically for me is to use an emulator built using SDK version 15 or 16 - for some reason, the Android SDK API level's emulators are much more problematic than before. There are some configurations (for example Nexus 7 tab) that simply hangs when trying to start it using default RAM allocation. After reducing it to 512, I can start it but then I can't start app. With older version of the emulator, if I set the RAM to say 512, generally the emulator will start and the app will also start (although very slowly).
Unfortunately this is an Android issue, and there is very little ADF Mobile can do.
In short, if possible please deploy to a device, and also please remember to deploy in release mode when you don't need to debug the app, as performance difference is very great. OBI Mobile App Designer raises Internal Server Error
Hi,
we are running OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1 on a 64-bit environment including OBI Mobile App Designer. We have the problem that two components (mapviewer and bisearch) are not starting automatically, which might cause the problem that we get a 500 Internal Server Error when trying to open the Mobile App Designer.
Before this problem occured we were running the OBIEE sample RPD that comes with the OBIEE installation. At this point in time there was only one component not starting up (bisearch component). Accessing the OBI Mobile App Designer was not a problem at all. After some time we decided to change the RPD in order to have more meaningful data available. Since we changed the RPD we face major issues with this environment.
I tried to start the mapviewer and bisearch components manually in the Enterprise Manager. This worked only for the mapviewer. Before we changed the RPD all the components except bisearch were starting as expected. At this time accessing OBI Mobile App Designer was also not a problem.
A few days ago we were even not able to login to analytics, which told us that user or password must be wrong. I then tried to refresh GUIDs because of the new RPD that has been deployed recently. This resulted in a failure of BI server start after trying to refresh GUIDs with the respective settings in instanceconfig.xml and NQSconfig.ini. After resetting the configuration to the initial state we were able to start the components including BI server. What still remains is the issue with bisearch component and the problem related to OBI Mobile App Designer as mentioned before.
We observed that the log file of the managed server contains some error messages that do at least relate to the bisearch component. We did not find any helpful information to tackle this issue. Any ideas on how to resolve these issues in order to be able to access OBI Mobile Designer again? Due to the fact that OBI Mobile App Designer uses BI Publisher there might be a problem with that.

Converting Burrito Flex Mobile App to Desktop
Hi Guys! Have just developed an app for Android using Burrito. It works nicely on a phone but it is also great as a little 'widget like' desktop app.
Is there any way to package it so that it may be distributed as an Air app that runs exactly like it does when run in emulation mode (adl) from Flash Builder? If not, what is the simplest path to convert the <mobileApplication> to a <windowedApplication>?

Update: Surprised no one has answered this. I am new to Flash Builder and I figured you guys would know. Have been looking at viewstacks in standard Air apps and trying to figure how to use this to achieve the same effect as a mobile app. Looks like quite a lot of work to rewrite the app to Air on the Desktop ... is there an easier route .... anyone?Hi Richard,

I then did a diff between a Flex Buritto Moblie/AIR project library swc's included and identified swc included in AIR and missing in mobile. I updated the project libraries by adding the following swc's:

aircore.swc
airframework.swc
airspark.swc
applicationupdater.swc
applicationupdater_ui.swc
Then performed a clean build and ran packageApplication from my bin-debug dir and was successfully able to install and run the mobile application on the desktop :-).
Being new to supporting mobile phones, tablets, TV screens along with our web and desktop clients I am not yet sure how we will structure our projects and get maximum code reuse and UI consistancy across these form factors. I have already created a common library project containing all remote stubs, value objects and common utilities and am still trying to figure out how much mileage I can get out of my mobile views. I like the View Navigator and ActionBar navigation on all screens we support and am thinking to extend the ViewNavigator and add additional states along with the 'portrait' and 'landscape' currently offered, like 'portraitPhone', 'portraitTablet', 'portraitTV', 'portraitPC' and leverage my existing mobile views to use these states to adjust the UI layout to accomodate the new realestate... but still learning...
