Deploying MDM  content in PI 7.1..

Hello,
I have a requirement to deploy MDM content in PI 7.1 server through ESR. But when I try to login into ESR with j2ee_admin or PISUPER user I get the below pasted error. The j2ee_admin and PISUPER users are also not able to login into RWB which means that the password for the admin user is not matching in config tool. At this point I tried to reset the password for the admin user in config tool but Iam not able to see any tabs for the admin user as we have in PI 7.0 or lower versions.
In the secure store I see only jdbc configuration and not the admin details. I also tried to activate SAP* and change the password for the admin user but even activating SAP* is not happening. Please giude me to solve this issue and deploy the content successfully. Thanks in advance.
Error in ESR:
"Authorization error; unknown user name or incorrect password"
Error in config tool when trying to activate SAP:*
Error: Error occurred: The ConfigEntry '[email protected]' in configuration 'cluster_config/system/instances/ID
86091/cfg/services/com.sap.security.core.ume.service/properties' is final. No modify operations are allowed on inherited final ConfigEntries!
System details:
SAP NetWeaver 7.1 - SAP_BASIS - Level 0007.
Windows NT
16x AMD64
ORACLE
10.2.0.2.0

Hi ,
   Please use PIRWBUSER to login in RWB then it will work fine.
Thanks..

    Hi Shailendra,
    Please make sure the "ps.config.location" setting in your C:\Program Files\Sun\JavaES5\temp\input.properties file is correct. On Solaris, this setting defaults to /etc/opt/SUNWportal and on Windows it will need to be changed to the appropriate directory.
    The error you are seeing is most likely caused by the "ps.config.location" being inaccurate and the sample config is not finding the PSConfig.properties file.
    Hope that helps. thanks ,dean.

  • Deploy database content via a sca/sda file

    Hi All,
    i need your help. I would like to deploy the content of a database via a sca/sda file or something like that. Does anybody know, how i can do this. I already have created an sda file to create the database tables with its columns. This i have done with the Netweaver Dev Studio. Is there a way to create such sda files for the database content?
    Many thanks for your help.
    Regards
    Alex

    Hi Veena,
    You can deploy any ear, sda, files using SDM. If it is a par file use export option in portal

  • Error while deploying MDM SCA files through SDM over portal

    Hi experts,
    We are trying to deploy MDM business package over CE server.
    In this we are able to deploy the MDM java apis MDMJAVAAPI06_3.sca but while deploying BPMDMTECHN06_4.sca and BPMDMAPPLI06_4.sca we are getting error that Error " AS JAVA is not running" restart and try we tried many times restarting the instance and deploying it again but every time we are getting the same error.
    Please check if the version of the SCA files we are using are correct.
    please help.
    regards
    Narendra

    Hi Narendra,
    If you are using the portal demo version then check the expiry date. Also try deploying any of the SCAs other than MDMJAVAAPI to confirm whether the error is due to SCA files or there is a problem with the portal server.
    If you get the same error then you should download the SCA files again from market place and try deploying them. Version doesn't play any role in case of deployment. But make sure it should be compatible with the MDM Server version.

  • Deploying MDM Web Dynpro Components on NWCE 7.2 - /wdconfig not displayed

    Hi all -
    I'm trying to deploy the MDM Web Dynpro Components Framework  (the goal is to
    have NW CE connect to and 'see' the MDM repositories) and according to the URL
    http://help.sap.com/saphelpnwmdm71/helpdata/en/4a/8c20a0dc93203be10000000a42189b/frameset.htm,
    one of the steps is to run the MDM Web Dynpro Configuration Manager application
    (_http://<server>:<port>/mdm/wdconfig).  However, I get an error stating the page
    wasn't found (example: Error: Requested file /wdconfig does not exist).
    Looking further, I see that WD Framework needs to be configured as a pre-req.
    I'm in the JSPM and I see that MDM JAVA WD FRAMEWORK 7.1 7.11, MDM JAVA API Library
    and MDM Java Connector needs to be deployed (JAVA API and Connector are first).
    Under the 'Deployed Components' tab in JSPM, I see :
    >> sap.com/MDM_JAVA_API - 7.1
    sap.com/com.sap.mdm.tech.apireset
    sap.com/com.sap.mdm.tech.connector
    sap.com/com.sap.mdm.tech.mdm4j
    >> sap.com/MDM_JAVA_WD_FRAMEWORK - 710.711 (SP05)
    sap.com/tc/mdm/wdcomps/core/ear
    I deployed MDM_JAVA_API first and have restarted the NWCE system.
    I don't see any error in the logs and the URL for the /wdconfig still does not exist.
    Is there something that I have to deploy?  Can someone point me to a document other than
    the help.sap.com that talks about CE 7.2 and MDM 7.1 configurations?  I do have the master
    and install guide for both.
    Please advise!
    Thanks!
    -s

    Update:
    Hi - thanks for the followup.
    I have the correct SCAs.  I have done the following:
    UNDEPLOY both components
    Restarted the services
    Deployed the JAVA_API first
    Restart services
    Deployed the Framework
    Restarted the services
    Yes, even though the docs said I can deploy them in order, I think there may have been
    a few hitches that the error logs didn't catch.
    Specifically, when I re-deployed the FRAMEWORK 7.1 7.11, there were now 19 components
    listed instead of one.
    I am able to go to ~mdm/wdconfig now.
    However, I get a new message:
    "You are not authorized to use MDM Web Dynpro Components Configuration Manager".
    Even though I'm the Administrator?
    I did see in the docs that I need to create a Project first and that the userID that logs in
    should exist in UME and the MDM system.
    (_http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmdm71/helpdata/en/4a/41a40c343f2ab1e10000000a42189c/content.htm)
    I am looking into that now.  I think I will close this thread and start a new one
    specifically for that.
    Thanks!

  • Error during deploying MDM 7.1 Sp02 bussiness packages in CE7.1 using JSPM

    Hello,
    I am facing error when i am trying to deploy following MDM sca file in CE7.1 using JSPM
    1. BPMDMAPP02_115.sca
    2. BPMDMTECH02_115.sca
    I have already deployed following SCA file into CE7.1 successfully.
    3 .MDMJAVAAPI02_59.sca  (deployed success)
    is it mandatory that all sca files should be at same path level?currently API is at 59 and App and tech are at 115 .
    I am using CE7.1 trail version , i could not find out SDM to deploy sca files,so i am using JSPM to deploy sca files.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Veeru.

    Hi,
    Yes, all three should be compatible to MDM server and should be at same patch level.
    But i think reason for your deployment error is different.
    I found this in SAP note no 1281637
    "MDM standard Portal content (iViews) are supported on SAP NetWeaver 2004 and SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s).  At this time, there are no plans to migrate the content to be compatible to SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1.
    Please Check Note 1281637 - Deployment errors on NW 7.1 CE for MDM portal content

    Hi Guys,
    I am not able to deploy the MDM Enrichment controller, i get ServerDeploymentException. I tried Deploying using the JSPM tool.
    I doubt whether is it due to the mismatch is SP level of my MDM server and the Netweaver installation.

    Netweaver is Netweaver 7.1 SP05.

  • MDM Content

    Hi experts,
    Is there any content shipped by SAP for NW MDM? I mean the data model/ rules/...
    for application(ERP, SCM, CRM, SRM)
    or for modules ( MM, SD, ...)
    or for industries?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi William,
    Yes SAP has shipped some standard content to integrate MDM with other SAP systems like ECC,SRM,CRM EP etc.
    ERP:
    SAP ERP system ECC can be integrated with MDM with standard business content repositories.SAP has provided std Business content rep based on the ECC system design.this is available as a .a2a archieve file which comes along with the MDM installation package.SAP has provided such  Business content for Customer,Vendor,Material,article etc masters.All you have to do is unzip the archieve file and place it in the MDM archieve folder .then you can unarchive it from the MDM console and use teh predesigned rep in MDM for integrating with ECC system.
    You can Obtain the SAP delivered Business content files from the below link:
    https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001119622007E(Downloading business content)
    SRM:
    Under similar lines SAP has Std business rep delivered to integarte MDM with SRM.This also comes along with the std installation package of SRM-MDM.you can unarcive the rep and use it to integarte srm with MDM.
    You can refer the below link to understand SRM integration with MDM:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/6075d293-291b-2a10-7fbb-b827b28fd9b0(SRM-MDM)
    http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000679533&
    EP:
    SAp has also provided some std Business content for POrtal to intgrate it with MDM .Some std iViews and templates are available in portal by depolying the MDM specific files on the portal server .You can then very easily integrate EP with backend MDM system.
    Refer the below link to understand MDM integration with EP
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/bebdb8c4-0801-0010-aa81-a9b8d14e8415 (portal configurations,files deployment)
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/advancedsearch?cat=sdn_all&query=mahendra+sahu&adv=false&sortby=cm_rnd_rankvalue(EP-MDM basic)
    On the similar lines you can also integrate systems like BI,CRM etc with MDM.
    You can also integrate MDM suing API, such as ABAP api JAVA api etc for this even SAP has some std Function modules and data types predefined
    Hope It Helped
    Thanks & Regards

  • Error while deploying MDM Java Connector for EP

    Hi,
    i am a newbie to MDM.i am trying to develop a portal component with the blog "Using MDM5.5 Java Connector with SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0" as reference.
    i created an MDM system in portal and the connection tests passed.
    But when i deploy the code i get the following exception-

    This is my code-

                   connection = cgService.getConnection("MDM_SYSTEM_ALIAS", prop);
         INative nativeInterface = connection.retrieveNative();
                        CatalogData catalog = new CatalogData();
                             catalog = (CatalogData)
                   nativeInterface.getNative(CatalogData.class.getName());
                        ResultSetDefinition rsd = new ResultSetDefinition("Customers");
              rsd.AddField("Name");
              Search search = new Search("Customers");
              A2iResultSet rs = null;
                             rs = catalog.GetResultSet(search,rsd,"Name",true,0);
    response.write(rs.GetFields().toString());
    Have i missed anything?
    Should i deploy any .jar file? (i've already deployed MDM4J.jar) and referenced it in portalapp!
    Thanks in advance
    SwarnaDeepika

    Hello Swarna:
    I believe than rather than deploying the MDM4J.jar, you should deploy this components:
    com.sap.mdm.tech.mdm4j.sda
    com.sap.mdm.tech.connector.sda
    BPMDMTECHN00_0.sca
    BPMDMAPPLI00_0.sca
    Once you deploy those, you should have no problems. Another solution would be to take your MDM4J.jar and wrap it into an SDA, then deploy, but that would be pretty much the same.
    Those components are included on your MDM CD. Please ensure you use the same Version/support package/hotfix all over your landscape.
    I hope that helps
    Alejandro

  • Transporting/Deploying Portal Content and Delta Linked Objects

    I researching the best way to trasport/deploy changed ESS Portal content from sandbox to D>Q.  I have become familiar with the few changes my co. needs to deploy part of ESS.  I have read articles that say it is wrong to modify the "Content Provided by SAP".  The recommendation appears to be "use delta link objects". I created the necessary delta links in a new directory.
    How do I get the delta link objects to display instead of the sap source objects? I this primarily related to how the  portal is configured or how the content is managed?
    I'm really sorry about the general question (in advance) but this stuff is new for me and I'm essentially looking for some good direction here.
    Thanks,
    James

    Hi James,
    Yes exactly right. You should create your own PCD folder under Portal Content to store your objects. How you structure that is entirely up to you, however in my experience I have seen two ways
    1. First by Function or Dept (e.g. Finance, Logistics, HR) then by technical object (iView, role etc...)
    2. First by Technical Object (e.g. iViews, Roles, Worksets etc...) then by function or dept or region (Finance, HR etc...)
    Number 1 makes more sense to me. Just some other tips when it comes to creating PCD content:
    1. Put everything in your own namespace (e.g. com.mycompany) that way it is easy to separate from SAP content using filters.
    2, Come up with a logical naming standard so you can easily identify content by group, function and technical type (e.g. for an iView you might name it whoswho with the prefix com.mycompany.hr.ivu resulting in a name com.mycompany.hr.ivu.whoswho)
    2. Don't give PCD folders any prefix (e.g. com.mycompany) as it ends up elongating the resulting URLs unnecessarily and you can run into problems down the track.
    Hope this helps you.
