Deploying ODI win on ODI Unix ?

hey ODI experts..
we are using ODI (windows) 10.1.3.5.6 to populate Hyp Planning (11.1.1.3) & HFM ..
the client is planning on moving ODI to Unix platform..
Questions:
1. would ODI Unix be able to read the objects developed by ODI Windows ?
2. I remembered that I had to apply some ODI patches to work with Planning & HFM ..
is the same level of patches available for ODI unix ?
(I get the impression that ODI unix is less supported, therefore there might be some lags in getting the patches)
any help is greatly appreciated..

You don't need to access ODI installation on the Unix machine for development. You can install ODI on your windows laptop and start development and run the developed objects on unix machine. You just have to connect to the same repositories from both unix and windows machines, and for this need access to the database, where these repositories are saved.

Like Torsten said, how can you tell the difference between CM12 installed applications and locally installed? Once you can answer that, then you can write report.

Best way to deploy ODI artifacts across Dev,UAT and Prod

Hi All,
We have a requirement wherein we have to deploy the ODI artifacts from one repository to the other across various instances.
From what I learned from the export and import operations in Oracle Data Integrator documents provided by Oracle, we need to have Internal Identifiers (IDs) for each and every export and import. And while importing the work repository, we have to delete the old one and then import the new one.Is there a way where we can use the existing identifier and just append the changes?
Do we have any better way of deploying the ODI artifacts across Dev,UAT,Prod instances that would import the artifacts and also import the changes to the existing artifacts?
Any kind of information related to deployement is higly appreciated.

is there any possibility tu use a dynamic "username@host" based on declarations from
Topology -> Physical Architecture -> File -> PA_EXPORT_DEST ...
in ODI command:

Hi Aetl,
I am facing the same issue while using OS Command in ORACLE LINUX platform.
I am using the command as ls -1 /home/oracle/data > /home/oracle/data/All_FILES_NAMES.txt
Its working in terminal, But not in ODI procedure. How to set
Its throwing error as 'wrong process return code-2'.
Kindly help me toset file permission.

In OBIEE 11g, you can deploy the RPD via Enterprise Manager (EM). EM can be accessed from browser, EM is deployed on WebLogic.

Deploying Jdeveloper 10g project on unix

We are trying to deploy a Servlet based application on Unix. the project follows the mvc architecture and uses Property files. The project has been thoroughly tested in the windows environment. However on deploying to a unix environment. Resource Bundler not found error is thrown and the project fails to start up. What could be wrong ?

Deploying froms from NT to unix

hi
i have created custom forms in form 6i under NT. now i want to deploy that forms to unix.
i have created fmx file in NT and FTP(binary mode) it to unix. when i tried to open it says frm-40031 not a forms runtime files.
will just copying fmx file from NT to unix work or i need to recompiling the fmb file again in unix.

The .FMB file will need re-compiling into an .FMX on the target platform. There is a command-line version of the Forms compiler, so you could write a shell script to automate the re-compilation process.

Benefit of Moving Essbase from Win 2000 to UNIX

At my job, will currently are using Win 2000 for the OS that Essbase runs on. My Mgr and I want to migrate to UNIX, for simplicity. Also we believe using UNIX will shorten retrieval times for Web based reports. Has anyone had any experience with this and if you have, did you experience in shorting of retrival times.

I haven't tracked retreival times, but If you have calculation issues, be advised that calculations on NT or Win2000 are much quicker that UnixGlenn S.Narratus Solutions

Minimum requirement of ODI app deployment

We have an ODI application in development environment with master repository, work repository, dataserver database source and target database, mapping and transformation rules and scenarios.It is working perfectly and we want to deploy it in production enivronment.We have following questions:
1.What is the minimum requirement to deploy ODI application in production environment ?
2.We need to install ODI in production environment as ODI whitepaper suggest.Do we need to import all repositories and scenarios from development environment respective export? Though scenarios are stored in the work repository.

Hi,
Do you have more than one option:
You can use production as context, it means, just create a production context (you can put a password on it) and then work at same repository that you are developing
OR
Create a new WORK repository (I recommend a execution one) where you will import the scenarios generated in the development and have the production totally separated from development.
I believe that the necessary requirements are the same of development, take a look at the Installation Manual.

Deployment of ODI project in live

Please suggest me what is the best approach to deploy ODI project to the QA environment from dev environment. We have to keep in mind a quick disaster recovery and code maintainability. We have to do the code movement using ANT scripts.

Have you ever worked the J2EE visual administrator from SAP? Under the Server-> services -> Deploy, you can do the same deployment as you would from NDS. You will already be logged into J2EEAdmin. This might give you a clearer idea of what the problem is.
Have you ever been able to deploy a J2EE App? Did you change you app lately, possibly adding a bunch of new packages. I know that when I was programming pure J2EE stuff, it deployed very quickly. Then when I added JARs so that my JSPs could access additional functionality, it took quite a bit longer. I'm sure it depends on how big you EAR is.

SAthe answers you've received so far are all over the board. That's a result of the fact that your question is pretty vague. Is your problem that you are unsure of how to get a unix command prompt and launch sqlplus? Or are you having a specific problem related to actually connecting to a database? What have you done so far? What error messages (if any) are you seeing?

Win 7 SP1 Deployment for OEM kind of product.

Got a requirement for Deploying of Win 7 SP1 deployment on new product. Currently We planned to sysprep on refrence image and apply the image . On System boot it ask for Licence and user detail. Is this is right way to Deploy OS for product with proper
license or some other better way is available.

Hi,
When you run the sysprep /generalize command, the activation clock will automatically reset. You can bypass resetting the activation clock by using the SkipRearm setting in the
Microsoft-Windows-Security-SPP component. This enables you to run the Sysprep command multiple times without resetting the activation clock.
What you need to do is make sure your machine is activated prior to sysprep. Then using Windows SIM add the key
Microsoft-Windows-Security-SPP\SkipRearm to the Generalize phase and set the value to 1 for your unattend.xml file.
Once you have this key set, you can use sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown /unattend:unattend.xml command, and at this time, the SkipRearm key will prevent the activation from being reset.
