  • Modify JSP file without restarting the server

    Hi guys,
    I need to do small change in the JSP in the production.
    How can I do it without restarting the server?
    I have deployed the application as an EAR file.
    I use WLP8.1 SP3
    IS there any way?
    Ananth

    You can try expanding (use jar util) that ear into temp dir, then make the change, use jar util again to create the ear. try redepolying it. Make sure change the jsp recheck and hit that page. see if it works. Incase if it works put the jsp recheck back to -1.
    Note: This is just an idea, I never done.

  • Is it possible to deploy an EAR to a Netweaver AS without restarting the AS

    The application has been designed to use multiple Java Resource bundles that contain various messages and properties that are updated quite often.  The Resource Bundles have been separated into separate SCAs so that they can be deployed separate from other parts of the application.  Is it possible to deploy the EARs contained within these SCAs without restarting the Java AS?

    Hi,
    That should be no problem at all. Any machine with or without NI software can use an FTP client to transfer files to and from an RT target such as CompactRIO.
    You should be able to build the executable on the development machine, transfer it via USB drive to another machine and then use FTP software to transfer the file from there. You'll just need the IP address of the target and login information.
    For more information on FTP transfer with or without MAX to RT targets, see the following KB article:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/4DCF9D581C491E9F8625711B005FA539?OpenDocument
    I hope this helps, please don't hesitate to reply with more questions on the subject.

  • How to deploy EJB jar file in Weblogic 8.1

    Hi,
    I have created the EJB jar file, bearing home,remote,ejb and client class aling with the META-INF folder containing ejb-jar.xml and weblogic-ejb-jar.xml.
    After all this I am confused where to put this EJB jar file so that the container could deploy it.
    I am putting it in application folder of my own created Domain.
    Suggest me...

    Put it anywhere you like. You can always deploy it using the administrator console. There usually is an auto-deployment directory for the domain. You could find all that information in the Weblogic documentation.

  • How do I turn on -XverboseTimeStamp without restarting the server?

    The execute method on the getDiagnosticCommand seems pretty handy for invoking things programatically. I can turn on verbose GC with this command, but how can I turn on the verbose timestamps so I know when the gc occured (without restarting)?
    Thanks

    Try the "decorations" parameter to the "verbosity" command. Something like this:
    bq. verbosity change=memory=info decorations=timestamp
    See [http://e-docs.bea.com/jrockit/jrdocs/refman/optionX.html#wp1001095] for possible decorations.

  • I use Iplanet web server and my question is, once I make changes to my java file, is it necessary to restart the server after every change to the file(java)??

    Hi,
    In your iWS, Go to particular instance config directory
    edit contexts.properties file
    (eg:-/usr/netscape/server4/https-test/config/contexts.properties).
    Do the below changes.
    (uncomment
    context.global.reloadInterval=5
    "And"
    context.global.isModifiedCheckAggressive=true).
    Example:-
    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    # Context properties:
    # context.global.sessionmgr=com.netscape.server.http.session.SimpleSessionManager
    # context.global.sessionmgr.initArgs=
    # context.global.initArgs=initial=0
    # context.global.realPathFromRequest=false
    # context.global.respondCookieVersion=0
    # context.global.sessionExpireOnClose=false
    # context.global.includeTransparency=true
    # context.global.tempDir=/tmp
    context.global.reloadInterval=5
    # context.global.javaBufferSize=0
    # context.global.bufferSize=4096
    # context.global.docRoot=/foo/bar
    # context.global.inputStreamLengthCheck=true
    # context.global.outputStreamFlushTimer=0
    # context.global.uri=/
    # context.global.host=
    # context.global.ip=
    # context.global.authdb=default
    # context.global.classpath=
    # context.global.singleClassLoader=false
    # context.global.contentTypeIgnoreFromSSI=true
    # context.global.parameterEncoding=utf8
    # context.global.sessionCookie=NSES40Session
    context.global.isModifiedCheckAggressive=true
    I hope this will work for you.
  • Make code changes without restaring the server
    hi everyone,
    how can we make the code changes reflect in the server without restarting the server is case of jboss using startDynamoOnJBOSS.bat.
    because every time i make a small change in the code i am restarting the server to see the change in the output.
    Hi,
    You can use debug mode of the eclipse. Follow the steps below:
    1. If you're using Jboss goto your run.bat and find the line:
    set JAVA_OPTS=-Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,address=8787,server=n,suspend=n %JAVA_OPTS%
    Just make server=y
    2. Put debug points in your file in eclipse. Put the point where ever you think you need to make changes.
    3. Open "Debug Configuration" in eclipse and select "Remote Java Application" and click new. Fill the details and click apply.
    4. Use f5 to go inside a method and f6 to goto next step. Use ctrl+shft+i to see the value of any parameter or just keep your mouse on the parameter.
    I hope its clear.
  • Partial redeployment of a static jar file with weblogic.Deployer
    Hello,
    We are working on an application serving jar files to customers, via Java Web Start, hence that are considered from our point of view as static files, like our HTML and Javascript pages.
    Moreover, we have one jar that changes regularly, so every time it's loaded on the server we need to do a partial redeployment of this jar file, as documented here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs103/deployment/redeploy.html#wp1025739
    However, it does not work, as I believe WebLogic doesn't consider my jar file as a static file.
    C:\>java -cp weblogic.jar weblogic.Deployer -adminurl http://mymachine:7001 -user weblogic -password mystrongpassword -name myapp -redeploy launcher/downloadme.jar
    weblogic.Deployer invoked with options: -adminurl http://mymachine:7001 -user weblogic -name myapp -redeploy launcher/downloadme.jar
    weblogic.management.DeploymentException:
    The application myapp#7 cannot have the resource launcher/downloadme.jar updated dynamically. Either:
    1.) The resource does not exist.
    or
    2) The resource cannot be changed dynamically.
    Please ensure the resource uri is correct, and redeploy the entire application for this change to take effect.
    As a side note, if I rename downloadme.jar to downloadme.jar.*html*, then WebLogic agrees to redeploy it!
    Is there any way to force the static redeployment of my jar file?
    Thanks and regards,
    Julien
    Hi,
    The feature you are trying to use works only when web application is deployed in exploded format. Is your app deployed in exploded format?
    Also jars are never considered static, so I doubt this will work here.
    As an alternative you can go for Oracle Weblogic Production redployment feature. Refer to - http://middlewaresupport.wordpress.com/2013/03/21/production-redeployment-feature-in-weblogic/
    Hi Olivier,
    you could try the following approach:
    1. Package your JAR files as J2EE Engine libraries and deploy them on it as described here: <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/9f/2ade3fc6c6ec06e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Working with J2EE Libraries</a>.
    2. Set reference to this library from the application that use them. Depending on your application, refer to the appropriate documentation:
    -- reference from a J2EE app -> see <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/15/d5d93fe80fed06e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Referencing Libraries in Applications</a>
    -- reference from a portal app -> see <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/02/788540ae1dbb4de10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Referencing Elements</a>
    Hope that helps!
    Error 403--Forbidden
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.4 403 Forbidden
    One thing I have noticed is that the web.xml for the WAR file had the following XSD:
    <web-app version="2.5" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd">
    I also changed the version to 2.4 and checked. It was not working.
    I am not sure about the problem with deployment. If someone could help me out in this issue, it will be a great help to me.
    Thanks,
    Hari.
    Restart the server and see if you get any deployment error in log files. Do you see proper deployment msg in the logs? May be there is some issue in weblogic.xml which is not allowing app to deploy properly. How does the app appear in Admin console under deployments?
  • Problem deploying a WAR file in Weblogic 10
    I get an error trying to deploy a WAR file on WebLogic 10 on two of my co-workers computers. On my computer it works fine and on our development server running on SUSE 10 it is also fine. We are using Struts 2, Hibernate 3 and Spring 2.5. The exception says that weblogic.wsee.async.AsyncResponseBean failed to preload because weblogic.wsee.async.jaxws.OnAsyncDelivery could not be found. We are not knowingly trying to use these classes. We do not have web services. The full text of the error we get when trying to deploy is:
    Hey,
    From what I understand, your configuration is obviously different from your co-workers' config.
    So you've got two choices : either you make their environments work like yours, or you make the application to work anywhere !
    In order to do so, I would advise you to use a comparison tool, such as BeyondCompare (excellent) and compare your domain configurations (config directories)
    Or as James suggested it, you go hunt for unnecessary libraries in your application DD.
    Extra question : have you tried to create a new domain, and activate the Workshop extension ? Try then to deploy your application and tell us what's the result.
    If you created your application in Workshop, mind the facets : if you do not chose the correct set of facets, you'll have lots of extra libs, more annoying than helping.
