Deployment Differences - PeopleSoft OEM BOE-XI vs. PSIK

I can't seem to find a clear documents that clearly explains the Deployment Differences for the following two scenarios...
1.) Deploying the PeopleSoft OEM version of BOE-XI (5-Cal) on an infrastructure without any other BO environments.
2.) Existing separate infrastructure for PeopleSoft 8.9 and BOE-XI (Premium). Deploying the PeopleSoft Integration Kit (PSIK) to "bridge" between the two infrastructures.
If anyone can link me to docs/training/webinars it would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

  • What's the difference between OEM and standart licensing of VMware vSphere for users?

    Good day,
    Could you please explain me,
What's the difference between OEM and standart licensing of VMware vSphere for users?

The difference is usually the support you get. With OEM versions you'll often get support from the OEM and not from VMware directly.

  • How to Deploy crystal reports in BOE

    Hi,
        I have two questions.
1.How to deploy crystal reports in BOE server.
2.How many ways is there to deploy crystal reports in BOE server and name of the method is needed.
Anyone knows about these details could you please reply me
    Regards
    Babu N

I am not sure what you are asking.
Are you trying to publish reports into Enterprise so they can be run from say infoview, scheduled etc?  If so you can either use the publishing wizard or do a save as from the Crystal Reports designer and save them to Enterprise directly.

  • Looking for deployment instructions PeopleSoft AMI instances on Amazon EC2

I am looking for deployment instructions on how to launch PeopleSoft AMI instances on Amazon EC2 platforms. There are many AMIs posted by both Oracle and Amazon together to deploy demo environment, and no where I found the installation/deployment instructions. Template instructions for the following AMIs is pointing to Oracle VM page, not Amazon's AWS instructions.
    https://aws.amazon.com/amis?ami_provider_id=4&selection=ami_provider_id
    Please help!

We're certainly aware of and interested in our customers' desire to use Amazon's infrastructure for a quick and inexpensive deployment of PeopleSoft for demo or pilot purposes. Please continue to use this forum to provide any feedback regarding Oracle applications, particularly PeopleSoft, deployed on Amazon EC2. We have appreciated the feedback we've seen regarding PeopleSoft OVM Templates. This forum has demonstrated the interest and enthusiasm customers and users have for PeopleSoft and virtualization.
As you are aware, Oracle has a number of broad statements regarding support for our products on the Amazon infrastructure. We are still reviewing the business and technical complexities associated with Oracle-built and delivered AMI's available directly from Amazon compared with our customers using our OVM images for deployment on Amazon's infrastructure. There is no official ETA for FSCM 9.1 and HCM 9.1 AMI's from Oracle.

  • Deploy Agent Via OEM GC

I have OEM GC 10.2.0.5.0 / 11g DB running on a redhat 5 server. I normally manually install the OEM agent onto other machines, but I would like to make the OEM push agent feature work for me, but I am having trouble doing so. When I navigate to the "Deployments" tab, Agent Installation section, Download Agent Software, and click on "Download" button, I get an error - "Internal Error has occured. Check the log file for details." in emoms.trc I getthe following. I have checked the obvious like internet connectivity. A couple of things I wonder about is where is agent being downloaded from, and do I need to specify credentials somewhere?

I recently (this month) installed Grid Control 11.1 to RHEL 5 and deployed x86 and x86-64 agents to other RHEL hosts using the Agent Deployment.
In 11.1 (probably not that different from 10.2.0.5 ?), from the Deployments menu, I choose "Install Agent", not "Download Agent Software". The "Install Agent" menu comes up and I did a fresh install. On my targets I did have 10.2.0.5 agents, but I choose to completely uninstall (using OUI) the 10.2 agent and do a fresh install of the 11.1 agent.
A couple of notes I made with regards to doing a fresh install:
    - Ensure firewall rules allow access to port 3872 from target server (server which you want to install agent) to grid (OMS) server
    - Test from grid server: i.e. telnet <target> 3872
    - Ensure firewall rules allow access to port 22 (ssh) from grid server to target server.
    On target server:
Temporarily run 'visudo' as root and comment out the following line:
Defaults requiretty (i.e. becomes #Defaults requiretty)
Ensure target server /etc/hosts.allow has reference to grid server
Ensure target server /etc/sudoers has reference to oracle as follows:
    oracle ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: ALL
If this is not set, then the Grid Console will give errors on sudo connectiviy testing commands. Refer Metalink Note: 363509.1.
Test from Grid server as 'oracle' user: ssh <target server>
PS - After the agent was deployed, I changed back to 'Defaults requiretty' and removed the oracle entry from the sudoers file.
With 11.1, I had to change the default sudo path, as it referenced /usr/local/bin/sudo (should have been /usr/bin/sudo). Can't remember the exact details, but you get an error which references a directory path where you have to edit the file relating to the platform (i.e. x86), updating the SUDO_PATH to what it should be.
    Post-Install...
    Test the agent:
    cd $AGENT_HOME/bin
    ./emctl status agent
./emctl upload (check it works okay)
Log into EM Console and configure metric collection:
Check the target Host and Database exist
Under the Database tab, you will see a Metric Collection error. To fix, select the database (radio button to left of db name), then Configure button. Now
enter the dbsnmp password for your target database then follow through to save configuration.
Oh,... and one other thing. My OEM install was 32-bit, and the default installation only came with the x86 agent. I had to go to OTN to download the x86-64 agent and unzip to a directory on my OMS home sysman/agent_download/11.1.0.1.0 before my 'platform' dropdown allowed for a 64-bit agent to be deployed.
Hopefully the above is some help to you. Again,.. just realise that this is for 11.1, rather than 10.2.0.5. Not sure how much difference there is.
I can recommend the move to Grid Control 11.1. The upgrade was painless and my experience so far is that it is more stable than 10.2.0.5.

  • Deploy differences between 904 standalone and 903 J2EE and Web cache versio

I am trying to port an application from jboss (3.0.3) to OAS 9iAS rel2. Since the application uses local interfaces in the EJBs, I am using the pre-release versions of OAS. My development environment also include ant and xdoclet. I am not using JDeveloper or TopLink and would prefer not to due to the different targets we are using.
I have successfully portet to the 9.0.4 OC4J (standalone) version. In doing so I have collected all my EJB-class files in one jar, appName-ejb.jar, which along with the war-file and META-INF files go in the ear-file. Attempting to deploy this ear-file directly in 9.0.3 "J2EE and Webcache" version gives me the following error message in the Oracle Enterprise Manager Console: "Deployment failed: Nested exception Root Cause: Syntax error in source. Syntax error in source"
The how-to:Implement Local Interface (cmplocal) also use a single jar-file, cmplocal-ejb.jar. The description is targeted toward OC4J standalone. I have not attempted to deploy this ear-file in the "j2ee and webcache" version.
The Petstore demo ear-file (ref: "O9iAS Containers for J2EE User's Guide (9.0.3)") has all its beans in separate jar-files and deploys without any problems. The documentation also indicate that all beans has to be in separate jar-files in the root of the ear-file i.e this is a requirement. Do I understand the documentation correctly?
Why the difference between the standalone version and the next version? Does not the possibility having to maintain a a large number of bean-jar-files in the root of the ear-file make development/deployment much more difficult than necessary?
    Does there exist any batch-workarounds?

  • Deployment differences

    what is the difference between:
              1) deploying to the cluster?
              2) deploying to each of the individual nodes in the cluster?
I'm trying to assess the logistical issues of updating war/ear files in a
clustered environment. When I deploy to the cluster via the console, I
notice that the individual nodes in the cluster (all running on my deskside
box, not distributed across separate hardware) are all marked as deployment
              targets.
In a physically distributed environment, does deploying to a cluster
magically transport the war/ear file for me?
If not, for a new ear/war should I first lay down the file on each node,
then via the console or programmatically deploy to the cluster?
For an existing ear/war, how can I determine when all nodes have hot-synced
to the new file so I know my cluster has "converged" to the new file?

  • OEM Grid and Database version differences

    Hi All,
I have installed OEM 11.1.0.1.0 version and agents which same version are installed in databases like 11.2.0.2 and 11.1.0.7. I have set metrics like Generic Incident,Generic Operational Error and Generic Internal Error with Warning and Critical threshold values. When testing for Alert log, errors are not logged into OEM Grid and no notifications coming to my e-mail configured.
My question: Is this due differences in OEM Grid and databases? As OEM Grid has low version than my databases.
PS: Alerts are coming perfectly to my e-mail for all 10g databases.
Please clarify and help me in this regard.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
The following documentation shows that the Alert Log metrics are not applicable for 11.x databases.

  • Deploying Apache_fop war file  -- no OEM Grid Control

    Hi
Does anyone know how I would go about deploying the Apache_fop war file on a machine where OEMgridControl is not installed, eg An XE Database upgraded to Apex 3.0.1 or any other database without Grid contol.
The instructions for deployment all assume OEM Grid control is installed.

I copied an existing working structure and this worked for me.

  • War deployment works in 9iAS2 not Enterprise Manager 10g

I have a war file that works fine in OEM Application Server: 9iAS2. When I try and deploy it on OEM 10g Application Server: J2EE_904 I keep getting NoClassDefFound errors when trying to access included jar files in WEB-INF/lib. Note that I have tried placing these jar files in ./j2ee/home/applib and still get the error.
Here is an example stack trace:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError

The first time I try and go to the index page after deployment I get a different NoClassDefFoundError for org.dom4j.Element.
Any Ideas? This application works fine in multiple versions of Tomcat, BEA Weblogic, 9iAS2 and several other servers...

It has become necessary to get this war file working on version 9.0.4 for a customer. I have gotten as far as getting the application to work but I have to move some things around after deployment.
    I have added a line to <ORACLE_HOME>/j2ee/<OC4j Container>/config/application.xml
to add a library path to a directory containing all jars existing in WEB-INF other than struts.jar. I have even had to include the classes directory for the model layer of the struts application.
Once I've done that everything works. Is there a way I can modify the war file so I don't have to do all of this configuration post deployment? I still don't get why it works on other servers and even other versions of Oracle Application Server.

  • How to create an install medium of Windows 8 with custom programs (like an OEM install)

    Hello all,
I am interested in setting up a small business of making PCs for people around my area, and was curious if there was any way I could install Windows 8.1 on those computers with custom programs (i.e. Browsers, Anti-virus, etc.), but not have to create a user
account to do so? I want people to get these computers and go through the regular setup account process when they turn them on for the first time, just like with any computer from a regular OEM. Basically, I am trying to create my own OEM instillations of
    Windows.
Thanks for any help, and let me know if I need to clarify anything.

    Hi,
Andreas is right, we have many ways to deploy Windows 8.1 like OEM.
You can also try the ADK:
Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (Windows ADK) for Windows 8.1
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-hk/download/details.aspx?id=39982
The Windows ADK enables two key scenarios: Windows deployment and Windows assessment.
Windows Deployment is for OEMs and IT professionals who customize and automate the large-scale installation of Windows on a factory floor or across an organization.

  • Executing OWB generated code outside OWB deployment manager

We are thinking to develop data loading programs using OWB but ship the generated code directly to user. We're looking at possibility to let end-user to invoke generated mappings w/o installing OWB. Because we plan not to offer customization to our users in our first release, there is no point to make OWB a mandatory pre-requisite.
Other than running mappings from OWB deployment manager and OEM, could user execute mapping code from something like SQL plus and eBizSuite's concurrent program? My guess is yes.
Then what is the minimum installation requirement for end-user to perform. Does user have to install run-time repository and target schema from OWB installation CD?
    Thanks a lot!

    Jerry,
There are several alternatives for running OWB mappings in addition to Deployment Manager:
    1. From SQL Plus. Requires no part of OWB install to work, it just connects remotely to Runtime repository. See template in [OWB install Home]/owb/rtp/sql/sqlplus_exec_template.sql
    2. From OEM. Same: requires no part of OWB install, connects remotely to Runtime repository. See template in [OWB install Home]/owb/rtp/sql/oem_exec_template.sql. Also see "Oracle9i Warehouse Builder User's Guide
Release 9.2", page 13-19, "Scheduling Mappings and Process Flows".
    3. From Oracle Workflow. OWB Deployment Manager deploys into Workflow in this case.
    4. From any XPDL complaint process flow engine.

  • Create an iso of Windows 8 with custom OEM name and information

I have searched EVERYWHERE for this. I installed the new windows 10 ADK on Windows 7 (They say it works on 7) and it has tons of features but I can't find a single guide or anything on how do just change the OEM info. Here is exactly what I want to do  but I want to integrate it into the iso. Which is what I thought the ADK is for. I have been tearing my hair out now for 5 hours and I would appreciate it if anyone had a solution for this. Thanks in advance!

  • Migrate jobs from one OEM instance to another

    Hi,
We have an OEM 11g dev server, where we are testing and creating many job definitions.
We also have an OEM 10g prod server, that we will soon upgrade to 11g.
Is there a way or a tool to migrate all jobs from the OEM 11g dev server to the OEM 11g prod server?
    thanks

It might be benefiicial to list more detail. What versions of OEM, assuming 10.2.0.5? What version of DB, in our case it was 10.1.0.4.0.
Our path was to export 10.1.0.4 into 11.1.0.7.0, then upgrade to 11.2.0.3.0 which all of our DB's are.
However, from Collaborate and from forums/communities, the consensus was it was better to install OEM 12c from scratch and skip 11g all-together.
So that's where we are. Installed OEM 12c on another server (we wanted to decommision our 10g server anyway).
Running OEM 10g/12c Parallel (Agents on different ports). Configuring as we go. OEM 12c I will say, at least IMHO (In My Humble Opinion) is a a complete difference from OEM 10g (rule-wise). Not that there are no similarities, just how you get there is a lot different.
    Anyway hope this helps!

I'd like to know whether we can deploy CRS 2008 or BOE XI3.1 on webshpere 6.0 not 6.1?
When I add ReportAnalytical.war, ClassCast Exception throws.

I would recommend to take a look at the Supported platforms documentation for the exact version of BOE and CRS you use  and the OS you are trying to install on.
