Deployment from version 701.4 to lower version (700.14) portal?

Hi all,
We are in a situation where our VC development portal has been upgraded to 7.01.4 (EHP1 SP4 of NW 7.0, not CE). But now we have a model we want to deploy to a portal at a lower version - SP 14 of 7.00.  When we try to deploy it we get a blank page with an internet explorer error (line 237, object expected).
Does anyone know if this should be doable, or if there is any simple way to make the model compatible with the lower version?
Thanks,
Margaret

I put in an oss message on this and the response was that it isn't really doable. We would have to set up a federated portal network, then we could deploy our 701.4 model to the 701 portal and access it from a 700 portal.
So I am closing this question.

I have upgraded Apple Aperture from version 2 to version 3 and I'm having a problem with the "Highlights and Shadows" adjustment. According to the user's manual, I should have access to an advanced disclosure triangle which would allow me to adjust mid contrast, colour, radius, high tonal width and low tonal width.
If anyone has any suggestions as to how to access this advanced section, I'd be most grateful.

    Hi David-
The advanced adjustments in the Highlights & Shadows tool were combined into the "Mid Contrast" slider in Aperture 3.3 and later. If you have any images in your library that were processed in a version of Aperture before 3.3, there will be an Upgrade button in the Highlights & Shadows tool in the upper right, and the controls you asked about under the Advanced section. Clicking the Upgrade button will re-render the photo using the new version of Highlights & Shadows, and the Advanced section will be replaced with the new Mid Contrast slider. With the new version from 3.3 you probably don't need the Advanced slider, but if you want to use the older version you can download it from this page:

  • How do you fix 'unable to upgrade from version 0'?

I have been working on 6 ibooks over the past year, documenting a lot of stuff for user manuals for our school. The ibooks were all created in iBA version 1.0, but are not published - we only use them internally so we just use the previews.
I gave up trying to upgrade my 1.0 iBooks, it takes too long to 'optimize' the files when I try to open them in 2.0. I have read all the issues with iBA 2.0, but decided to download 2.0 on another computer and wabt to try to re-write all my old 1.0 manuals (I have all the files that went into them).
However, when I double-click to open the 2.0, nothing happens. So I go to 'File' and select 'New from Template Chooser'. I then get the window with all the new templates, including the portrait ones. When I select any template, say the 5th one for example, I get the prompt "The document 'Textbook 05.ibatemplate' could not be upgraded. Unable to upgrade from version 0". This happens for every template. I don't understand. I downloaded the 2.0 from the app store onto a 'clean' computer. Yes, it has Lion on it and all the spec requirements to run iBA. Can anyone help me with what to do next?

Did you ask Apple for help yet?

    Can anyone help me please

    Hi David,
    I greatly appreciate your details.
I have verified that and they looks fine. Let me give you some background.
The Weblogic server is properly configured on my Sun Solaris box. I am successfully able to deploy applications (.ear files), when I do it from the same machine.
But, I am getting the above mentioned issue only when I try to deploy same .ear file remotely; I mean deployment triggered from Windows 2003 server (target machine is Sun Solaris).
Please give your pointers and help me.
    Regards,
    Gopal.

I try to update from version 4.1, but it shows in ITunes device not elligible. I have the latest version of ITunes, but it seems the phone is a problem. None of the aplications work properly, Facebook and Safari cut off....

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

  • How are you tracking deployed software versions for traceability?

I am curious how others are tracking deployed software versions in automated test environments.
I am working on a medical device tester and we have a somewhat inefficient method for keeping track of all version numbers. I would like to know what tools are available to automate tracking version throughout a project, from build to viewing later. Or, what methods are typical in this type of environment.
Essentially, we need to be able to say at any given moment what software version is running at 3 remote locations on several deployed systems.
For simply automating the process of viewing the version number programmatically, I found this, but we've had issues with it:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/D45E3A1E694815AD86257173005CFD36
This solution requires a "separate" installer to get the .NET framework onto the target PC. Also, it doesn't work (to my knowledge) with the Help>>About window.

    Dennis,
Thanks for replying. We are using SVN. The exact ECO process for this project is under construction as it is a relatively new project and deployments will be at our customer's site. We use JIRA for tracking specific change requests.
Here's an example of our basic process:
    - Software changes made (according to JIRA tasks) and source code checked in
    - Builds released per schedule with version numbers (from JIRA projects) hard-coded into the application
    - Builds deployed at different locations & times
Here's what I'd like to see to improve things:
    - Builds released with version numbers generated from one of the following:
       1. Loaded from JIRA release numbers - maybe auto-generated for reference by LabVIEW when building the application
       2. Part of a custom build launcher
             >> This would be a custom interface that runs functions like those in Application Builder palette while also sending version info
             >> Perhaps it could prompt the user for version info or read from something auto-generated.
    - Builds should automatically make version numbers visible within the application (for example, LabVIEW has the Help>>About window)
    - Build numbers should be programmatically/dynamically accessible without having to install an additional .NET framework that isn't listed in 'Additional Installers'
Curious if there are any tools that support these kinds of things. I am aware of Deploy by Wirebird Labs and Proligent by Averna, although I am lacking in knowledge about specific features.

I have an orginal iPad and there is no "sofeware update" button in the general menu as shown above, how do I update from version 4.3.3?

The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

  • Deploying multiple versions of an enterprise application

    hi,
trying to find a solution to deploy several versions of an enterprise
application i came up with the following considerations. i would highly
appreciate feedback on which method would be feasable and the issues
    involved.
    o version specific jndi names
creating a separate deployment descriptor for each version of the
enterprise application and binding each ejb to a different jndi name.
utilize jndi enc mappings to keep the application code unaffected.
the following deployment descriptor excerpt shows the relevant parts of
the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml for "versions01". each further version would

    configuration directory)?
    o multiple managed servers
configuring multiple managed servers and deploying each version of the

    o built in support
does bea weblogic server provide some built in version support that

  • How to upgrade eSourcing from version 5.1.8 Patch 3 to 5.1.8 Patch 4

Please some one can guide me How to upgrade eSourcing from version 5.1.8 Patch 3 to 5.1.8 Patch 4 since i am new in CLM.

    Hello Gadewar,
First of all make sure you read all the details given in the Upgrade Guide located at "Installation and Upgrade Guide"->SAP SRM->SAP E-Sourcing 5.1/SAP CLM 2.0->E-Sourcing 5.1/CLM 2.0 Component Upgrade Guide PDF at service.sap.com/support website.
Note you need to have the support account to login to that website.
How ever I am listing down basic steps required for upgrade below.
    1) Download the installables from the website I did mention above, have DB jar, have custom jar (optional).
    2) Take backup of the DB.
    3) Take backup of Config folder. Also take backup of the <home Dir>/Lib if you have some customizations in the form of JARS.
    3) Make sure the userid which is used for connection to DB have the required permission like CONNECT, RESOURCE, UNLIMITED TABLESPACE etc. It is given in the guide I mentioned above in section 4.1 Verify Privileges of Oracle Service Account.
    4) Stop ESO instance and run the setup and then upgrade scripts.
    5) Undeploy the old ESO application from App server and then deploy new .EAR from new <home dir>/fsapp on the app server.
    6) Start the app server and your ESO will be ready. You may need to use Workbooks to upload Localized Resources. This is the case if you have modified some OOTB localized resources in the past as a part of customization and have not used the overrides to give new resource values. If you have used overrides for localized resources in the past then you are good and need not to load the workbook.
Again usage of Workbook depends on the requirement to requirement. You may need to use workbook based upon your business needs.
Make sure you have not modified any OOTB query definitions as a part of customizations, if that is the case you will loose those query definitions as upgrade scripts overrides OOTB queries and then you should backup those as well before upgrade and then you may re-pull them after upgrade.

  • I was updating Firefox from version 6 to version 7, after updating I tried to open Firefox and the message I got is this: This application has failed to start because xul.dll was not found. How can I fix this?

I was updating Firefox to the newest version 7.0.1 from version 6.0.2 I think it was, I clicked the restart Firefox button that always comes up after updating. It started updating and then Firefox never restarted like it was supposed to after it was done updating. I then tried to open Firefox and it told me "This application has failed to start because xul.dll was not found." I did have Firefox crash on maybe about 30 minutes or so earlier which bothered me because I have been using Firefox for years and never had it crash on me before but I didn't think much of it at the time it happened because I was able to go back onto Firefox and finish what I had been working on. A while later I checked for updates and updated. The first time I tried to update it didn't work though so I had to shutdown Firefox and reopen Firefox and start the update a second time. It was after the second time that when I tried to open Firefox I got that message about failing to start because xul.dll can't be found. I filed a crash report when my Firefox crashed. This would have been around 1am-2am in the morning that Firefox first crashed and then wouldn't allow me to open it after updating. I have a DELL laptop running the Windows XP operating system but the laptop is probably at least 6 or 7 years old. The laptop will no longer charge so I always have to have it plugged into an outlet. Both my laptop hard drive and my external hard drive give me messages that I am running out of disk space on my hard drive. I bought this laptop 6 or 7 years ago second hand so it could be even older. In short it's a piece of crap and it gives me all kinds of issues but I currently can't afford a new one, but I have never had any problems with Firefox and I use Firefox more than any other aspect of my laptop so it's really really bothering me. May you please help me fix it?

Unfortunately I tried that and it didn't work. Thanks for the help though. I tried to uninstall and it said I couldn't because the file is corrupt or something, but I think I finally got it uninstalled and/or deleted or whatever, but now I try to reinstall/download it again from the beginning and I can't. No matter what I do I can not get Firefox working again. No matter how many times I try to redownload it. Any other suggestions?

  • Should I upgrade my NVIDIA drivers from version 301.42 to 314.07 on my Mid-2010 MacBook Pro (6,2)?

    Hello,
I was wondering if it would be wise for me to upgrade my MacBook Pro nvidia drivers from version 301.42 to the current version 314.07? Reason, I am asking this is because my MacBook Pro has the nvidia GeForce GT 330m processor with 256mb of video memory and I haven't updated my Windows 7 64bit Home Premium display drivers for about 7 months. At the time I installed the 301.42 driver it was the latest WHQL release, and back then I did the upgrade after installing the Bootcamp 4.0 drivers (from the Bootcamp Assistant which had the 26X.XX driver version), Windows 7 SP1, and all Windows Updates. I used a clean install on those drivers. So far, I haven't had any problems with the 301.42 driver which makes me sometimes double think whether I should upgrade the drivers or not to the 314.07 version. As a result this is why I go to these forums and ask what could be the best course of action in my case?
    Thanks in advance!

Yes you should by all means update to the latest Nvidia drivers on the windows side of things. I presume you are using bootcamp (since thats really the only place this is relevant).
    But yes! you should
