Deployment is Very Slow

Im trying to deploy my mapping usig control Center but its taking a very long time, more than 2 hrs, to deploy.Also, When i toggle between windows, the OWB screen goes blank i.e. it takes a long time to refresh.One thing that i observed was that it takes a lot of time to initialize. Most of the times i had to shut the OWB using the task Manager and restart working on it.
Can any one help me on how to resolve this issue?

We've noticed performance problems using OWB when we don't have a very fast network connection (symptoms very similar to what you describe, but definitely not on the order of hours to do a deployment...)
Where I'm consulting, we have a server that has both a normal 10/100 Mbit network connection, and a gigabit connection. We didn't know about the difference, but when we were told to use the IP address for the gigabit connection, all of our problems went away.
I think OWB is very network hungry.

SCCM 2012 - Deployment Status Very Slow

I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I recently upgraded to 2012 SP1, as well as moved my database to a new server running WS2012 and SQL 2012 SP1. Everything seems to work very well, except for when viewing the status of my deployments.
For example, I pushed out a handful of security updates to a collection of 2008 R2 Servers (about 3 servers). After a minute, the servers showed correctly that updates were available. I proceeded to install, reboot, etc.
Now, in CM, under deployments, I have been keeping an eye on the Deployment Status. After about 6 hours, the little bubble was all grey, in that it hadn't yet figured out what was going on. 24 hours later, and finally it saw that three machines
were "in progress"....even though they should be "compliant". I have noticed this extremely slow behavior on several other small deployments I am doing.
I have combed through numerous logs, both client and server side, and I don't "see" anything that would suggest an issue with state messages, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can look, or what I can do? Before I upgraded,
although obviously not instant, the deployment status' seemed to update fairly quickly (couple of hours, not days).

Chunking + dimension operator+ owb 11g very slow

Anbody using chunking for loading SCD type 2 dimesnions in Oracle 11g.
Can it be used with dimension operator.
Also what is Max Chunk iterator count - can't see in the documentation?
Thinking about dicthing domension operator for one of our SCD type 2 as so slow.
Also doing simple thing like deploying mapping very slow - anybody seen this - other previous version used also slow but not as slow.
Other programming development tools thing on PC leads me to think problem with OWB.
Do we need to purge repository auidting tables?
If so is there a script to do this in Oracle 11g.
Any ideas/thought on above much appreciated.

Have run other mapings which maintain SCD type 2 using dimesnion operator behave similary to 10g. - have raised issue with this particular mapping with Oracle - awaiting response.
One question - when look at the mappings which maintain SCD Type 2s looks to join on dimension key and the surrogate ids.
What is best practice regarding indexing of such a dimension, e.g is it recommended to index dimension key and the surrogate ids along with the natural/nbusiness keys?

Applications is very slow after an each deployment

I'm using JDeveloper 11g 10.1.1.3
I've developed the little aplication with Oracle ADF (full stack: ADF BC, ADF Model, ADF Controller, ADF RC).
That's work fine on the integrated WLS.
Next, I have the standalone WLS on SUSE 11. And I have the next problem: my application works very slow after deploying (for about 15 second for each request), but that is only first time for every page (or every page fragment).
After one user opened the page, all others users open it perfectly fast. Even after rebooting of the server the application is working fast.
I've tried to deploy another applications to that WLS, and to the another WLS, but I have the same problem.
I think there is something wrong with deploying (I deploy all applications from JDeveloper).
That problem doesn't appear with integrated WLS.
What could it be? Maybe, that is usual thing and I shouldn't use JDeveloper's deployment profile?

Hi Anatolii,
Cany you please generate a Thread Dump during load and after deploying your application. This will be able to show us where time is spent during that 15 seconds of your client requests. You also may want to capture the JVM memory figures before and after your deployment by using tool of your choice or simply enabling verbose GC on Java process.
If problem is only happening post redeploy, then you may want to look at some possible native memory leak (classloader leak) here.
On most of our production systems, we always restart (preventive measure) the WL server post deployment, to prevent any build up/leak of native memory (class descriptors etc.).

Deployment and Execution of Mapping is very slow

The routine job of executing the process flow use to take 45 minutes earlier and now it is taking over 2 hrs. There is not any substantial change in the amount of data to be loaded also there is enough tablespace on the database.
The other thing I have noticed is that when I deploy the mappings , the initial start is very slow and after that it progresses well.
Can anybody help me with this.

This may help: We've have found that OWB likes a lot of sessions and, for whatever reason, doesn't always re-use available sessions or close sessions that are no longer needed. When one developer deploys and executes a mapping, we typically see 13 open sessions on our staging instance and it increases from there if the developer previews the data in a dimension or cube. This can become an issue in some environments when you get 4 or 5 developers producing and we have found that it affects performance. The tool does appear to release those sessions when you exit the program completely.
Talk to your DBA or launch OEM if you have the appropriate permissions. Hope this helps.

Very slow deployment with in-process=true

Hi,
I'm in the process of porting an enterprise application (packaged into a single EAR file) from JBoss to OC4J.
For now, the biggest part of the application (which is still under development) is an ejb-module with about 66 entity beans with a total of 243 CMR- and 536 CMP-fields. The remaining parts are a few session beans and a few simple web-applications.
One of the problems I'm experiencing during porting the application is the very slow deployment of enterprise beans on oc4j, especially when having set in-process=true.
Deployment on JBoss 3.2.4RC1 takes 28 seconds.
Deployment on OC4J 9.0.4.0.0 takes 20 minutes (cpu-time!).
My deployment platform is an Intel P4, 1.4 GHz, 1024 MB RAM, MS Windows NT 4.0, Sun J2SDK 1.4.2_04.
OC4J is started with "%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java.exe -verbose:gc -Xms192m -Xmx256m -DassociateUsingThirdTable=true -jar oc4j.jar -userThreads -verbosity 10". OC4J is configured to perform in-process compilation.
So far my investigation shows that OC4J is spending a few minutes probably for analyzing and generating wrapper/proxy classes. Then it starts the in-process compilation which accounts for the bigger part of the 20 minutes.
During that time, "-verbose:gc" shows that it's spending only the usual amount of a few milliseconds per second for GC.
I also had a look at the generated wrapper/proxy classes. The size of some files is intimidating. The biggest one has a size of 1,566,791 bytes (31,930 lines) (- seems that it consists of 95% duplicated code ;-)). This generated source file belongs to a entity beans that I wouldn't describe as being really huge: it has 25 CMP- and 18 CMR fields.
But this is probably not the cause for the extreme slow-down:
Another test with in-process=false was much faster (when compared to the former test): about 2 minutes 30 seconds.
But actually this is still very slow.
Is this a known problem or am I the only one experiencing slow deployments?
How can I speed up deployment times?

No TAR yet as this is currently one of the minor problems with OC4J. :-( I'll file a TAR after we've solved some more pressuring problems here.
For now I use in-process=false. Which is still slow, but at least I see can see the reason for this: it simply takes javac some time to compile the generated junk of java sources.

Deployment and Upload speed are very slow in Southeast Asia,

Normally I have spent the time to deployment not over 20 minutes per cloud service but in this week I have spent the time more than 1 hour per cloud service.
I have test the upload speed in Asia Pacific. It was very slow.

CQ5 server performance is very slow ?

For starters answers to a few questions would help:
1. What kind of hardware config is in place? (RAM, disk-space)
2. Which OS are you running instances? Are both author and publish on same machine?
3. Have you checked error logs?

Oracle ADF Mobile application is very slow in Android

I am new to oracle ADF.
When I tried to deploy an application in an android device it takes a lot of time to deploy as well as every button click in the application takes more time to load. Is there any way to speed up the deployment process ?

My computer has been acting very slow, apps will not open.   I called Apple support and they suggested that I upgrade to version 10.10.2   My app store is not working, so we downloaded it from the Apple site.   This made matters worse. I used EtreCheck to download the following data. Can someone read this and see if it says what my problem is.   Perhaps I should go back to Maverick?   I don't even know how to do that.

Jdev 11g application is running very slow.

Hi,
I have deployed the application on Solaris OS, Weblogic 10.3.2 and JDev 11g.
Application is running very slow, means each page is taking time to launch.
Server setup is as follows:
8 cpu's
6gb of memory
8gb swap
15gb /apps
20gb /logs
Please let me know if I need to set any parameters at server level to improve the application performance.

Oh, yes, of course, your /logs partition should be 22.25 GB instead of 20 ;) (that was a joke before you run off and ask for more space)
To amplify what Timo said, you've provided actually no information whatsoever that would help anyone even begin to know what is causing the performance problem. Have you looked at the EM screens? Have you turned on logging to see if it's the database perhaps? You need to do much more diagnosis.

TestStand 3.0 Is Running Very Slow?

Hi All
I have built an application using TestStand 3.0 and LabVIEW 7.1. This application is running as an executable on the target machine (i.e only the TestStand deployment and LabVIEW runtime engine is installed on the target machine).
The program has been working fine for 2 months, however 2 days a go i noticed that when the machine is re-booted and TestStand is loaded it takes approx 2-3 minutes to load up I.e. get to the log in screen), everything is now running very slow even to the point of selecting a menu option from TestStands menu bar i.e. Report Option, it will take approx 20-30 seconds for it to load the dialog box?
The PC it is running on has 80% free disk space and allot of spare memory.
Has anyone else seen this problem or has any ideas of what might have changed?
I have uninstalled my application and the problem is still there i am now debating whether i should remove and re-install all the NI software, but this may fix the problem but will not provide me with an answer to what has happened.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you using network paths in your search directories? If so, try moving them down in the search directory order so they are near the end.
Ans: No, all search directory paths use the local C Drive. I only have 3 custom paths added.
Are any other applications on your machine slow like this?
Ans: No, all other applications e.g Windows Explorer, MAX etc, all work fine, it is only TestStand which is slow.
I am struggling to understand what and how could have been corrupted to cause this to happen.

Navigation very slow and not able to enter in memory a sequence issue

Hello,
we have a big problem with oracle forms performance since we deployed our
application to the web. all our customers are not confortable with this new
environment because the sytem are very slow and working it's very difficult.
our application is very slow in point of when the user use very quickly the key
functions it doens't work.
I explain :
for example, we have a button &Verifier (alt+v : acces key to this button) and
when clicking to button we have a dialox box that contains 2 buttons:
Oui(alt+O:access key) and Non(alt+N:access key) and if we click Oui(alt+O) it
popup as an information box and we must click Ok(alt+O: access key).
then if we click quickly alt+v after alt+o after alt+o it doens't work and it
wait to click againt alt+o.(like the system doesn't follow or has not yet enter all the sequence in the memory)
before in client/server it work's fine.
it's like our application in the web it's not able to entered in memory a
serial of access key.
please can you help me the problem is always occuring in the production
environment.

Report with Subreport very slow from SharePoint

HI,
I have a report with a sub-report that runs in about 9 seconds from my PC using the Report Designer with SQL Server 2008R2.
When I run the deployed report from SharePoint it takes 4 minutes. If I remove the sub-report it again runs fine from SharePoint.
The sub-report is pretty simple and links to the main report using 3 parameters.
What would cause this?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Slow performance of fetching BLOB data over network is very slow

Dear Experts,
We are deploying a GIS application which handles with BLOB datatypes. Database Server is in RHEL and in 11gR2. The application is using asp.net 3.5 and using ODP.NET to connect with Oracle. But here is a performance chart which shows that performance is very slow when application and database server lie on different subnetwork.
Case      Login Time
Same Server(Both in 192.168.9.23)     20-25 sec
Same Subnet (DB:192.168.9.25) (App: 192.168.9.23)     60-80 sec
Different Subnet (DB:192.168.11.153) (App:192.168.9.23)     More then 5 minutes
So what is the reason behind this and how can I improve performance if I want to keep application and database in diff machine?

Also, look into the various lob settings in ODP.NET.
I believe that by default in ODP.NET the LOB will be fetched in separate roundtrips but you can change this my messing with certain properties or using certain methods - apologies, a bit imprecise.
If you have a network issue then doing more roundtrips than you need to is just going to exacerbate the situation.
Trace the session - if it's networking or roundtrips you should see symptoms of it in a 10046 trace.
