Depot indicator in plant setting VS excise group settings

can anybody tell me how systems makes the priority of depot indicator in plant settings over the excise group settings?

The only way to do it is to assign a small notional value (like 0.01 USD) to the item, so that the conditions tab does not disappear.
The only problem will be that the GR/IR clearing account will have an open entry, which can be cleared via MR11 with minimum accounting impact.

RG1@ MIGO functionality in Excise group settings in Tax on Goods movement

Hello
Can any one tell me the functionality of RG1@ MIGO check box which is in Excise group settings in Tax on goods movement in ECC6.0.
As per the system it is stating that "Creates an entry in register RG 1 immediately you create an outgoing excise invoice in the standard Goods Movement transaction, MIGO, if the goods in the excise invoice are finished goods."
I have checked this check box and create the excsie invoice but system is not updating Rg1 automatically.I need to update it through J1I5 only.
Anybody is having any idea about this functionality?

Hi Sunil!
We r working in 4.7. The setting u r telling is available here also.
In case you have selected the check box 'Update RG1 at MIGO', system shall update RG1 at the time of cration of Outgoing Excise Invoice through MIGO.
If u dont wish for automatic update, please unselect this check box. Please take care of the day/time for doing the same.

Problem regarding Plant-Excise Group configuration

Dear Xperts,
In this business scenario, a Plant is acting as a Manufactuing Plant and as well as a Depot concurrently.so we do have two Excise registrations , one for depot and another for Mfg. Plant.We have defined two Excise groups also , one with Depot indicator.
Now when we are going to assign the same plant code to two different Excise Groups ,system is throwing error of dupicate entry in table J_1IWRKCUS as the Plant column in this table is the only Primary Key.We want to create/modify this Primary Key to Plant-Excise Group combination.How can we proceed?
Pls note that we ca not create two different virtual Plant codes.

Hi Expert,
Create the Excise Registrations as per your requirements, if you have to create the depot as plant, if you have a separate Excise Registers.
and assign the Plant and Depot(Second Plant) to one Excise Group and try to do the remaining configuration.

Plants and excise group in multple comany codes

Hello SAP Gurus
I need one clarification
I have a depo Plant
I have gone for multipls company codes so that eventhough it is one depot , I have created multple plants and assinged to each plant to each company code (1:1).
Now can I have single excise group for all the plants???

You can use same excise group for all plants of different company codes, provided
1. your all company codes is having same chart of accounts
See IMG >Logistic general > Tax on Goods Movements > India > Account Determination > Specify G/L Accounts per Excise Transaction .
2. you need all settings same for all plants related to excise group for the customizing IMG >Logistic general > Tax on Goods Movements > India > Basic Settings > Maintain Excise Groups
Otherwise maintain different excise groups.
I will suggest you maintain different excise groups so that you will be having flexibility in future also.

Plant & Excise Group in Project System Environment

Dear All,
Our scenario involves Project System. Client has projects going on all over the country & overseas.
We are creating Plant for all the projects.
a) Here is it necessary to create Excise Groups similar to the number of plants?
b) Or does it depend on the number of Excise Registration Numbers?
c) Here if we have multiple plants & create one Excise Groups, will it create any problem in excise account determination?
Pl advice which factors to take into consideration in this regard?

as per the definition of excise registration
An entity in India that is entitled by law to produce any goods liable to excise.
Each entity is assigned its own excise registration number.
Every factory that manufactures excisable goods is required to register separately, so that a business with seven factories requires seven registrations
when comes to excise groups generally we take one excise group for one plant, but we can also have more number of excise groups when accounting demands so

Automatic triggering of excise group in MIGO

Hi,
The sceanrio is receiving goods from plant in Depot. There are two manufacturing plants supplying goods to Depot.
So depot -A is assigned with two excise groups. for ex: E1 and E2.
Migo is done in depot with reference to replenishment delivery of Plant.
Each time we need to select the excise group individaully based on the supplying plant for posting excise duties in MIGO.
IF goods are suuplied from Plant 1 then need to select the excise group from F4 E1
If goods are supplied from Plant 2 then need to select the excise group from F4 E2.
Based on the supplying plant can we default the excise group in the excise tab of MIGO.
IS there any standard settings for the same ?

U r doing MIGO in Depot always which is not changing then for what purpose u r changing the excise groups ??????
For MIGO u r putting the excise group of the recielving plant plant/depot not the suppliying plant.

Multiple plants with same excise registration

I have 8 different manufacturing facilities/locations inside the same campus. Due to business requirement I have to make each of these manufacturing locations as plants. But, this campus/location is given only one Excise Registration by Govt. This company is maintaining only single set of excise books like RG23 registers, etc not as per each manufacturing locations.

1.Can I assign multiple plants to the same Excise Registration in
SPROLogistics u2013 GeneralTax on Goods MovementsIndiaBasic SettingsMaintain Plant Settings
Will there be any issue?
2. Do I have to make multiple excise group or single excise group for plants?

If your Plants / Depos are Excisable then you have to create Separate Excise Group & Series Group.It will help you to see Excise Registers as per the Plant's different Excise Group.

Excise group not appearing in excise no range maintainence session

Hi,
We created a new depot plant and new excise group in golden client.
Transported the same in testing client, excise group is appearing in excise group node.
but in excise number range maintenance session SNRO for object j_1irg23d in testing client, transported excise group is not appearing.
If we enter the same and move for number ranges system states " Excise group XX doesnot exist"
I checked for excise group intable J_1IRG23D table , excise group xx is appearing.
Please help in this regard

Hi,
You need to have an entry of the Excise Group in the table - J_1INEXCGRP.
Mostly whenever the excise Group is created this Table is supposed to be updated with the excise Group, but in some cases it does not.
For maintaining the entry in this table you need to open the client settings.
Just maintain the entry of the Excise Group in this table and Save it.

at my client place there are 5 plants but 4 excise registration
that means 2 plants are comprised in same premises and having only one excise registration.
Please suggest me what are the steps for creating excise groups and the all procedure so that i can start capturing excise transaction.

Understands that you have one plant with different maufacturing units in the same premices,this is registered under single registeration number.
Now in SAP you have configured it with three different plants,so in SAP it is possible to have same excise group and excise registartion number for these three different plants or you can have different excise group for each plant but the excise registration number would be the same for all three.
However before doing this please discuss with the client's excise advisor/consultant to check this solution from the legal point of view.
Now,what is excise group?
Excise group is SAP terminology,excise group is an unit under the excise registarion.
Excise Group help you to keep own set of records for the particular plant.
Excise group is assigned to plant and each excise group keeps the records of all transactions that have to be reported to excise authority. Now for reporting to the excise authority,the concept of excise registartion comes in,excise registration reports to excise autority. When it is time to present all the records to excise authorities, excise registartion compiles all the records from all its excise groups.
Hope this will help you out.

Number range not update CIN error message Excise group.... does not exist

We have created new excise group in SPRO> tax on goods movement/India>basic setting>maintain excise group successfully.
My problem is, when we have update the number range (J1I9) for same excise group, system give the error message Excise group .... does not exist.
Please help on top priority.

Presently we are making some mistakes by selecting wrong Plants / Excise Group / Series while preparing Purchase Orders, Sales Orders, GRIR and Invoices. We need to make it mandatory to select respective Plant / Excise Group / Series only, so that no-body can select other plant except the respective document.

Check the series group which your giving in J1iex.. Has it been assign to to Excise registration of Plant. And you have given us the Message number and application area. If it is a customized message then you need debug with Abaper.

One Plant Two Excise Groups

Hi,
We have 2 Excise Groups for One Plant (Becaz they have two Excise Regn) .If the user forgor to Change proper excise group at the time of GR (MIGO)
Then How to correct it he has to cancel the Migo and then hehas to post again with reqd excise group na?
Am I correct?

you can control with authorisation.
by this activity your registers will get spoiled. becuse by reversal it doesnot take out the enteries from registers.

Subsiquent Delivery Excise Group Plant

Hi all
I've made GR captured Excise and Posted it in MIGO Mvt type 101
Then I've made Return delivery (mvmt type:122) against the material document generated from 101 mvmt type.
Again I made subsiquent delivery in MIGO (It selected mvmt type 101 again, I have also changed to 123) against material document generated from 122 mvmt type.
In both the movement type it displays the eror as "Excise group (M1) does not belong to plant (MCP1)"
Please guide me.

Hi,
Check the Excise Registration Key for Excise group and Plant it should be same.
In SPRO > Logistics - General > Tax on Goods Movements > India > Basic Settings > Maintain Plant Settings
And in SPRO > Logistics - General > Tax on Goods Movements > India > Basic Settings > Maintain Excise Groups
