Depreciation Repeat problem

Dear Experts,
I run the depreciation for two months ie. June and July and then subsequently posted additional assets in those periods. when i try to re run the depreciation in June it says only period 7 (July) can be posted in the repeat run.
when i try to re-run July it says the test run contains errors.
Grateful for your advise.

Where you want to Assign Recon Account type.
1 - from FS00 / PSS0 it is not possible to change GL account as a asset recon account.
2 - from OAMKyou can change recon account type for account type ASSET
Please try to assign recon ASSET in OAMK screen.

Repeating problems (1) Many Missing Files; and (2) Downloading From iTunes

I am having multiple issues with the iTunes store currently. I have spoken with an Apple Expert on August 14, 2010 (case number available if needed). Although he was very good at helping me to the best of his ability, he referred me to iTunes Store Customer Service, which I previously was in contact with.
I have 2 types of repeating problems (1) Many Missing Files; and (2) Downloading From iTunes Store.
_Problem One - (1) Downloading From iTunes Store_
I have 1610 missing files from my iTunes folders. I created a list of missing items by following these steps:
+If for any reason you find yourself with random missing tracks, (or are trying to recover from a dying hard drive like me), there is an easy way to isolate those missing tracks.+
+1. Create a standard playlist called "Not Missing".+
+2. Drag your entire library into that playlist. Missing tracks cannot+
+be copied to a playlist.+
+3. Create a smart playlist called where you select the following conditions in the options window for the new smart playlist:+
+*dropdown menu* PLAYLIST+
+*dropdown menu* IS NOT+
+*dropdown menu* NOT MISSING.+
+4. Rename the smart playlist "Missing"+
+5. Right Click the "Missing" playlist+

My missing playlistable items represent a better part of a decades worth of audiobook files, transfered files from my PC days, etc... i loved my - now missing - Doctor Who and Torchwood purchases from iTunes.
I have already read the Trouble Shooting, checked Time Machine Backup, and been walked through replacing the preferences list. The missing file path from the "get info" options in iTunes points towards a non-existant file.
_Problem Two (2) Downloading From iTunes Store_
I have had problems downloading files from iTunes for months. I first noticed it with the TV Show "Avatar: The Last Airbender". Lately, when I download from the (non-music) part of the store, the majority of files are downloaded and then immediately not found. This has been prompting iTunes to repeat the download. Until I force quit itunes and *potentially cry*.
There have been multiple iTunes store purchases of audio books recently. If I reported the missing file immediately, I can contact iTunes support to repost the file and that usually fixes the issue. But today, I went to go rewatch "Torchwood: Children of Earth" and noticed Problem One.

If provided with a spreadsheet of my iTunes Store purchase history, I can write a vlookup( formula in excel to compare the list against my exported missing list so a shortlist of what is missing from just my iTunes Store purchase history can be created (hint: it's the majority of items from the list, others are years worth of files from my PC days). If we could do that, could iTunes make my missing purchases available?
Then we can focus on purely, trying to figure out why they went missing in the first place - so we can prevent it again & possibly help others from running into the same.

I strongly suspect the two issues are related to a root cause ... in addition to my user error in file management of backups ... what is going on?

Macbook Pro Key repeat problem

I've had my MacBook Pro for almost 2 years now but it's recently started to have keyboard repeat issues. The keys are not physically stuck but behave like they are, in a totally random manner - including the delete key and the space bar. Messages will end up lookinggggggg a bittttttt like thissssssssssssss. Very annoying.
This tends to be accompanied by a sluggish trackpad too. Then after a while - it behaves normally again.
I have nothing else attached - anyone any ideas?

I've been having an occasional key repeat problem for a while, I'd say for a year. I'll be typing, and then I'll stop, and the last key I pressed starts repeating and keeps going until I press another key. I've also seen it miss characters sometimes. This happens more often than a key repeating by itself. I'll be sure I pressed a key, but I get "wrds like ths." Maybe I'm just not pressing a key "deep" enough. Sometimes I've tried typing a bit slower and that seems to help.
I regret not bringing my laptop in for someone to look at earlier, but I've been very busy for the last couple years. The problem hasn't occurred often enough to make it a problem that I felt compelled to solve right away. It just feels like an annoyance, like, "Come on. This shouldn't have made it off the line like this!" I don't want to start a "war", but I had a Windows laptop before my Mac and I never had these problems with the keyboard. There are other attributes I like about my Mac, so it's annoying but not a big deal for me.
I usually run VMWare Fusion 2.0, and I've suspected that it's a culprit. The problem doesn't just occur on web pages, though that's where I usually notice it when it happens. I've seen it in TextEdit as well. What I notice is it happens when I've got something else running in the background taking up CPU time. Maybe the computer is swapping to/from disk. Sometimes I've seen it happen on a web page with some slow Javascript on it, again taking up CPU time. It seems to me it's a matter of the hardware or software missing the signal from the keyboard. Perhaps it's related to the "keyboard sleep" problem, which I've also seen, where the keyboard and trackpad just go dead. In this case I put the computer to sleep for a bit and then wake it back up. That brings both back for a bit, but it usually reoccurs, in which case I reboot it.
I've been hoping that Apple would come out with a patch for the key repeat problem. So far I haven't seen it. Would an upgrade to Snow Leopard fix it?

PT880 + SATA repeating problems!

I'm a new member in this forum, I have read some threads and I was impressed by the answers - ultra professional!
I am a part of a company that resells MSI products among others.
We have sold a lot of MSI Configurations including PT-880 mobo's.
We have been selling these board extensivly for 6 months & we have a repeating problem specificly with the combination of S-ATA Disks & MSI PT880 mobo.
The problem: Custumers keep returning with OS that won't start up (It gets stuck in the loading screen) or the OS boots but it doesn't load it loops constantly.
After diagnsing the systems we have always found Bad sectors in the HDD.
It didn't happen to custumers with ATA drives It didn't happen to custumers with intel's 865PE chipset. But with the VIA PT880 & SATA disk it happens repeatedly like a disease.
It is well known that S-ATA is a new technology & not yet perfected yet, but this problem is beyond this.
All returning computers are ofcourse Flashed with the newest BIOS version
If you have any suggestions, questions or Ideas considering what is the main source of this problem I would be happy to be advised...

DO NOT use 1.5 Bios.......it works but is slow on the booting/post side...
1.4 is fast but has niggles with Prescott and SATA.....
1.7 is BEST and TESTED..........
Also, please check PSU can support min of 18Amps on +12V.....
With 1.7 Bios installed you should have no problems with hardware on this mainboard...... (Have tested with an Intel EE cpu.....lot of money too have lying around..... )

Depreciation repeat run (period 14) - no areas to post to...

We have problem - cannot run Repeat run depreciation (posting to period 14 - audit adjustment)
We did reverse document for fixed asset, therfore we would like to do Repeat run depreciation.
However while we run, the error showing<i> "there are no areas to post to in company code xxx"</i>

- simulate AFAB for period 15 (if exists) for the specific asset and see if it has any entries
- try repeat run for period 14 specifying the asset number in the selection screen
- check for Posted Values tab in AW01N for the asset in question and see if any yellow triangle is seen or any depreciation planned.

Depreciation posting problem

hello gurus,
my problem is that our asset accounting year is closed in 2004.In SAP we can open 2 years at a time for asset accounting. as per this rule, we have posted dep in 2005&2006.when we go for closing the asset year 2005&open 2007 in AJRW. it shows the depericiation is not posted successpully for assets. Actually depriciation is posted in 12th period also in both years 2005&2006.but it shows some varience like 0.30 paise and all for each assets.so i am not able to close my asset year 2005&2006. suppose if wantto post that varience depriciation how to post &in which year .
it's very urgent please let me know.

Please try the following:
1. Run process "Recalculate Values" T-Code AFAR.
2. Run Depreciation Run Process T-Code AFAB, Mark the check "Repeat", enter Fiscal Year 2005 and Posting Period 12
3. Try to close 2005
If still having problems try the following:
1. Run ASKB or ASKBN (depend on your sap version) in test mode and look if there is some postings to do. If so, proceed to post them.
2. Try to close 2005.
If it works, do the same whit 2006.

Asset Accounting - Depreciation Repeat Run

Hi Seniors,
Depreciation run upto period 7 is over. Now, client wants to create few Intangible assets and depreciation needs to be run from period 1. I created one Intangible asset in Quality Server and tried to do repeat run for that particular asset. It says the posting will be done in Period 7. But, client wants the depreciation to be posted every month. Is there any way for this? Periods are open.

Hi Kumar,
Repeat run option is only for running the depreciation for the previous month only in this case period 7. The system calculates the amount from the period 1-7 and posts in period 7.
One option you can try is. You can create the repeat depreciation run for period 7 for this particular asset in background and process the same in foreground, changing the posting date and amount. Make sure your period is open.
Test this scenerio in your test client.

Depreciation : Repeat run to be done ...which got posted earlier

Depreciation is already posted thru AFAB for March. Now there are some more assets, which came later will be capitalised, and has to be posted in the same run / month.
What is the best way :
Should we execute "Repeat run" for only those assets ?.
Whether the depreciation already posted to FI, can be reversed ?. If yes,,how ??
If the above is possible, then should we execute the full repeat run & post again ??

You can do a complete Repeat run. It post the difference between the normal and the the repeat run.
It should then only the new postings. Run it as test run and you see the result

Depreciation repeat run -previous period

We have done planned depreciation run for 10th (currrent) period without running repeat run for 9th (previous) period.
Please help us how to carry repeat run for 9th period.

"N" number of times you can able to Re-run depreciation posting, no doubt about it.
here you are posted dep for 10th period and again you are capitalised asset for previous period (9th), now we have two options.
1 - Based on dep key system calculate dep for previous periods and post next period (11th)
Ex: Asset Value = $ 12000 % use ful life 10 years.
Dep 10% every month = $ 100
here when you execute dep for the period 11th system post $ 300 depreciation value. ( this method called Catch up method)
2 - Smoothing Method ( Go to T.Code: OAYR and select Smoothing Check Bok)
now your asset report shows from 9th to 12th period $100 every month.
this situation you can run again Re-Run Depreciation, system will post dep amount respective months.

Main Wrapper, Container and background-image repeat problem-and Footer :-)

First off, i tried almost every idea i could get to solve this on my own but now im...aaa...
Well, the problem is i have a main wrapper with a background image repeat. A header,menu, body container - which has a left column and right column. I want that main wrapper,body container and both of the columns to grow auto according to content. I tried the height:100%. When i float the columns the text from left column spills over on to the footer. The left column also does not autogrow towards the footer?! I was able to set the footer at the bottom which i want it to remain at the bottom of the main wrapper, but the main wrapper and the columns do not grow automatically...I guess it has something to do with float and the clear properties but what???

Method repeat problem

Hi guys.
have some prob with the following, appreciate the help.
the Main Method is,
asking the user to input a specific number, if the specific number does not match it repeats the same message input.
i use the if statement to do this(not to sure whether it is correct,
i want to use the while loop, but does not know how to put it)
anyway it did the job BUT when i try to return the value from my method(the method is "square root the input number").
it will square root the specific input number but does not pops up the input message when the input number is not the specific number.
i think the problem lies in the if statement on where i put it or i need to use the while loop.
below is the program.
statements in bold is the pop up screen
MAIN METHOD
Ask user to input the number;

I may be opening up a can of worms here but in the few years I have been learning Java I have never used a do-while loop. Perhaps that is a short-coming of my own but your use of it looks real messy.
I've taken the code I wrote earlier and have included the message dialogs to show you how to use the YES_OPTION. It works well and is less complicated than your attempt. There is probably a neater solution but hopefully you can take something from this.

Repeated Problems Accessing Secure Network - Which Pref Do I Delete?

More often than not, when I awaken my 20" iMac G5 from sleep or do a cold startup, it won't connect to my home network. It's an Airport Extreme closed network using WPA encryption. I'm running 10.4.6 on my G5. When this occurs, it tells me that none of my "trusted" networks can be located, do I want to logon to one of the other local networks in my area (there are a couple).
When I try to log on manually by selecting "Other" in the Airport menu bar dropdown menu, often it takes me 4-5 times to logon even though I know I'm entering the name, encryption level, and password correctly. The error I get is always "The selected network does not support this method of encryption" and gives me the option to try again. After a few repeats, I can get on.
I'm figuring that I have some corrupt preferences file or files somewhere. Do I delete them (if so, which ones?)? I've done both hard and soft resets, yet the problem has recurred.
Any suggestions for this annoying problem would be appreciated.

On your Mac.......
Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)
Open Network
Click on WiFi on the left
Click Advanced at the lower right
Here you will see the connection order list for your Mac
Make sure that your preferred network is at the top of the list. If it is not, drag it there.
Click OK at the lower right of the window then click Apply and close the windows
Restart the Mac to see if it will connect to your preferred network now.

Depreciation run problem."You can only post in new year after closing the"

We are implementing Asset accounting to one of our co code.New Assets were created in Jan and when I tried to Post depreciation for Jan, I get an error log that says "You can only post in new year after closing the previous year."
When i double click on error message.
Diagnosis
You want to post in a new fiscal year. However, a posting must have been made in the last period in the previous fiscal year before you can do this.
Procedure
Post to the last period in the previous year first.
So I went ahead and opened the previous year, posted the depreciation, closed the year and tried to post Period 1 again, but still get the same error.
Why do I need to post the previous period if I just created the assets in this period?
I Have completed AJRW, AJAB also.
I think it may be a problem with Table. Please suggest me.

Please check the following :-
1. Check the Last Closed year in your Asset Accounting.
2. Check the Last Depreciation Posted in Your Asset Accounting.
These 2 menus are available in "Data Transfer in Fixed Asset Accounting".
