Depreciation run in 2007- batch posted in 2008.Csq: Can not close FY07

Hi SAP Guru,
My client has an issue with a depreciation run of 12/07 posted in 12/08. FY=calendar year.
How can this be solved since a depreciation run CANNOT be reversed.
They created an extra asset acquisition in dec 2007 but forgot to run depreciation program in repeat mode before closing period 12/07 in GL. Now end 2008, they couldn't closed FY07 in AA because depreciations were not completely posted. They executed the depr run in repeat mode for 12/07 but manually changed the posting date to 31/12/08 in the batch.
How can this inconsistency between GL and AA be solved now?
My idea is to change the asset key to 0000, execute the posting run of 12/07 in a repeat mode again and post it like they did on 31/12/08. This will create two inconsistency but with opposite signs.
Then reopen 12/07 in GL and again post the depr run in repeat mode but with correct posting date.
But I'm not sure this would work... Please advise? Any other solution would be higly appreciated!

I would recommend that you don't waste your time with "Verify." Go straight to "Repair Permissions."
The chances are excellent that you will get that one advisory, and at the end it will say "Repair Permissions Completed."
There are lots of those notations that will seem to us everyday users as an "error." But it's just noted changes.
If after running "Repair" it says "Repair Permissions Could Not be Completed," that's the only time you ned to worry.

Does your external hard drive have it's own power supply? It should.
Is your external hard drive formatted with the NTFS file system? It won't work.
It needs to be formatted either with Mac OS Extended or FAT32.
(There are drivers available to add NTFS support to OS X but their quality is unknown, especially the "free" ones.)

Hi Mary, the other so called "Features" of iClound will not work for like Syncing, but eMail will.
MobileMe & dot Mac will still work last I heard.

Don't delete your old account yet. Just setup a new one in Mail>Preferences>Accounts, little plus icon. Choose IMAP as account type, not ,mac or MobileMe.

My Macbook Pro began crashing when I tried running safari. An error message came up asking that I repair the HD volume. Before I was able to run repair, computer shut down. Now I can not get it to boot. I tried booting in safe mode to no avail. Pls help.

Recently, my mid 2010 MacBook Pro has started acting up when I am on Safari. Safari would unexpectedly crash multiple times in a row, then run fine for a while, then again, crash repeatedly. Not long after this began happening, an error message from my Prosoft Drive Genius 3 software, threw out a message that a serious error had occurred and I needed to repair the HD volume. Before I was able to run the software to repair the HD volume, the machine stopped working. I turned off the Macbook and when I tried to restart, it would not boot. I have since removed all external hardware from my machine and tried several times, unsuccessfully, to boot. I have also tried booting in safe mode when also does not work.

Try SMC reset:
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time. (four keys together)
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.

Firefox just started to do this if on one user account someone has firefox running another user account on the same computer can not connect to the internet through firefox while firefox is running in the first user account

2 user accounts on the computer. If each acct is logged into the computer and tries to have firefox running only one can connect to the internet at a time. I am having exactly the same problem. This worked on all versions of Firefox up until mid last week. It started failing on Wednesday, coincident with the installation of Firefox 8.0 (see attached gif showing the automatic update on that date).
To fix the problem, you have to shut down Firefox 8.0 on one account, switch to the other account and then you can run it there.
If Firefox 8.0 is running on on account, the other account will run Firefox, but when you enter an URL it waits for quite a while then reports "The connection was reset. The connection was reset while the page was loading".
We also use Thunderbird 8.0 and it does not exhibit this problem, and works at the same time as Firefox 8.0. I suspect they might share some components.
I'd be happy to supply more details if needed.

So far I've disabled growl and time machine. This had no affect.

Macbook pro(2008 later) can not recognise external monitor(NEC UXI2090) with mini-DP to DVI adapter with 9600GT

I bought mini-DP to DVI frome Apple several monthes ago and it worked well in that time until yesterday the external monitor show me no signal sign. Other PCs were connected with the same cable and monitor and they are fine. I am wondering there is something wrong in the adaptor or macbook pro. Furthermore I found the external monitor can display nornally when I switched to 9400 graphic card and used mini-DP to VGA adapter. If I switch to 9600GT no signal again. If I switch 9400 using mini-DVI, it is shown on the external screening: Out of range... In a word, In the mode of 9600GT, mac can not recognise external monitor(I can not detect it in the systerm preference even I press detect display buttun) and 9400 works in VGA mode. However when I connect adapter to mac, the screen showed blue flash.
I reseted SMC, no use; I created a new account or enter mac to safe mode, no use; so far I did not reseted PRAM beacuse of something wrong of my system. I am downlaoding Mountain Lion OS and will install it. Then I will reset PRAM and try again.
I do not know whether I shoud change the adapter or the single-link DVI cable to dual-link. Someone said it is useful in their condition. I tried some methods from BBS, such as connected when devices were off and then open, and so on. I failed.
Any suggestion for this problem?

I turns out that the logic board of my MacBook Pro was faulty (despite being brand new).
I took it to the Apple Store, presented the problem, and one of the Tech's came to the same conclusion that I had -- hardware failure. Phone support was no help in the matter (and even told me that what I was trying to do wasn't a supported option, which is rediculous). However, the Genius Bar did take care of the problem, and my MacBook Pro was back to me with a replaced logic board within a few days.

Tried dragging to trash, doesn't work. Tried highlighting the file and hitting delete, doesn't work.

Try get info - command + I - and see if you have the permission to read & write textedit files. If you have read only, then you can't delete. You'll need to fix that.

Depreciation Run - Fiscal Year Close

We have the following scenario. The implementation was done with effect from 01 Jan 2008 and the Fixed Assets Data migration (Acquisition Value and the Accumulated Depreciation) was done on 31.12.2007. There after while we carry out the Depreciation Run for the month of Jan'08, during the Test Run, the system provides the error message - "Close the Previous Fiscal Year before carrying out the Depreciation Run". When we try to close the fiscal year 2007, the system gives the message - "No need to close the previous fiscal year 2007". Thus we are neither able to close the previous fiscal year nor are we able to carry out the Depreciation Run. Could any one advise as to what could be the problem and how can we proceed further ?

Thanks for the feedback. Tried to close the fiscal year using the T Code AJRW. Even after this the Depreciation Run gives the error message - You can only post in new year after closing the previous year. And when we try to close the fiscal year using the T Code AJAB, the system gives the message - No year-end close is necessary for company code 0073. The first fiscal year in our case is 2008 and the data migration took place on 31.12.2007. Does that mean that we have to carry out the Depreciation Run for the month of Dec 2007 and then proceed with the Depreciation Run for the month of Jan 2008 ?

I hv uploaded asset balances as on 31.03.07 (FY2006) and closed the period . Subsequently, while trying to execute depreciation run in 2007 (period 1) system is giving error " year 2006 is not closed"
while trying to run afab for period 12 in 2006 msg being thrown is " yr 2006 is closed".
Can anyone give solution to this.

Depreciation run canceled

AFAB work properly in Test Run but not in actual run.
After run in background I checked SM37, all RAPOST2000 canceled and worst part is no log entries are available for each job even if the Error Analysis box has been ticked for the run.
Please assist me. Points will be rewarded. Thank you.

As far as i know, if you tick the "Error Analysis" then "Test Run" automatically be ticked by system, and this can not be changed. So I guess that you execute AFAB in the background with "Test run" Mode. I think This also explain why you can execute AFAB again and again using "planned posting run" without any errors that said you have to run in "Restart".
But for make sure, you can check it in t-code : SCMO. Fill the Application field with : FI-AA. Also fill necessary selection criteria. Afterwards, you can check whether you have run AFAB sucessfully or not. There are the details on there.
You can also check whether you execute AFAB in mode "test run" or not. See it in tab Detail.
