Deprovisioning AD Group Assignment fails when setting MX_INACTIVE
Hi,
IdM 7.1 SP5 Patch Level 2
We have an Identity which has some AD Group privileges assigned to it via a role. So these privileges exist as MX_AUTOPRIVILEGE attributes on the identity.
If we remove the role, the privileges are removed and the SAP provisioning framework task DeprovisionADSGroupAssignment works ok.
If we set MX_INACTIVE, de-provisioning is triggered for each repository but the task DeprovisionADSGroupAssignment fails because it cannot determine the DN for the AD groups from the privilege master records.
My analysis so far has deduced the following:
The SAP provisioning framework task DeprovisionADSGroupAssignment uses a javascript sap_getGroupDN to determine the DN value for the ad group. It uses the audit record's UserId field to determine which old_id to read from the MXIV_OENTRIES table. The audit record UserId has the format: e.g. #15:DELETE;0;205081 i.e. attribute 15 on our system is (MX_AUTOPRIVILEGE), the operation is DELETE, the checksum is 0 and the OldValuesId is 205081.
From there the script uses the mskey of the privilege to look up the DN<repository name> attribute on the privilege master. This DN is then used in the To LDAP pass to remove the identity from the AD group.
So unless you actually remove the privileges from the identity, the values don't exist in the MXIV_OENTRIES table and therefore, the script cannot find the mskey for the privilege and therefore cannot get the DN.
Does anyone know if setting MX_INACTIVE is supposed to remove roles and privileges before triggering de-provisioning or how this is designed to work?
Has anyone else de-provisioned AD accounts and groups by just setting MX_INACTIVE?
Edited by: Paul Abrahamson on Dec 3, 2010 5:54 PM
We've now set up a scheduled job to pick up all users which should be made inactive on a given day and this job first removes roles and privileges (triggering de-provisioning of AD groups because the privileges are removed) and then after a while sets the MX_INACTIVE attribute.
Incidentally I also found this [SAP Note 1540835 - LDAP group assignment fails due to ambiguous bchecksum |https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1540835] which 'corrects' some logic in the sap_getGroupDN global script - it now uses context variables instead of reading the MXIV_OENTRIES table etc...

Scheduled report fails when set to print
Error Message:
Invalid printer specified. ~ce1b6881fc74f0d52.rpt
There is, indeed a default printer on the server and I can print to it manually from the BOE server. It shows in the choices of printers in the default settings. It does reside in the Crystal Reports Configuration Printer list. There is nothing in the 'printer connection' field. The report itself has 'no printer' selected. In the default settings I select the printer installed on the server and in Crystal Reports Configuration, Printer List..
Perhaps I'm just not hitting the right combination of choices?
The printer is set up with a tcp/ip port.
Could sure use some help . . . .thanks
Oh this is Business Objects Enterprise 4.0 SP 9 and Crystal Reports 2011.Since this question has more to do with the BO server configuration, you will probably get a better answer for this question in the BI Platform space here: http://scn.sap.com/community/bi-platform.

For the group synchronization to work successfully during resync, both the user and group should reside at the same level in the synchronization scope. Otherwise, it displays an error.
But the AD's DIT exists and can't be altered. Groupos and people are in different branches that is a common design as soon as you leave the default "put all in CN=USERS"
Is there a workaround?6230i is rather old phone, so if you had a version of pc suite that worked with it, try to find it and use that, maybe the newest pc suite no longer supports well 6230i (altough I have seen it in the forum here that it does work. You have something special in your setup that prevents it from working but difficult to guess what.

I have powershell script that is used to backup SharePoint server. It was working correctly until last week. I found this error message indicate that search application cannot be paused. I don't know what happen and what should I do to solve this issue.
Please help me find solution for this.
[20/1/2557 18:53:53] FatalError: Object Search Service Application failed in event OnBackup. For more information, see the spbackup.log or sprestore.log file located in the backup directory.
InvalidOperationException: Failed to set request to pause search applicationHi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you got an error when you backup your SharePoint Server.
You can do the steps below, then check whether it works.
Look for any One-time timer job for Backup/Restore and delete it (From Central Administration > Monitoring > Review Job Definitions)
Clear the timer cache following the below link:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jamesway/archive/2011/05/23/sharepoint-2010-clearing-the-configuration-cache.aspx
Run the below command from the SharePoint Management Shell:
$ssa = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication –Identity <SearchServiceApplicationName>
Suspend-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication -Identity $ssa
Once the above steps are completed successfully start the full farm backup from the Central Administration > Backup and Restore > Farm Backup
Once backup is completed run the below command to resume the SSA
$ssa = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication –Identity <SearchServiceApplicationName>
Resume-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication -Identity $ssa

OAS v10.1.2 Ultra Search - Page Group Missing When Setting Up Portal Data
Hi,
We're on version 10.1.2 but in the process of upgrading to 10.1.4.
In Ultra Search, when I try to set up a Portal Data Source, I can't see all the Page Groups in the portal. Is this somehow related to the ACL for the Page Group ... or individual pages? I can see most but not all, and specifically not the one I want.
Any suggestions would be great!I blundered onto the answer to my issue by trial and error.
When setting up the root page for a page group, if you wish it to be accessible to Ultra Search to be part of a Portal Data Source, you must ensure that the "Display Page To Public Users" check box is checked. The "Enable Item Level Security" checkbox can also be checked, e.g, they are not mutually exclusive. -
IPhone fails to locate a carrier when set to automatic ?
My iPhone 5 fails to find a carrier when set to Auto? If I reset it to 'manual' search, it will locate all available carriers. Why is the phones 'auto function' not working since the last iOS update?
Try:
Turn on airplane mode for thirty seconds, turn it off again, and then see if the iPhone automatically selects the optimal network. -

Failed to set security on SQL Server registry key. Error: 2
Hi,
I have a Primary site (mixed mode) running SCCM 2007 SP1 for many months now with no issues.
This site is made up of two Win 2008 sp2 servers sharing the SCCM roles:-
SCCM01 - Site server, DP, RP, PXE and SQL2005 hosting the SCCM database
SCCM02 – SUP, MP, FSP, SLP
The SQL2005 on SCCM01 is running under a domain service account called
domain\service_sccm which is also a sysadmin in SQL as is the SCCM02 server.
In an effort to resolve the isse I have made this account a Domain Admin.
I have also used this account to log onto SEC01 to run the Secondary Site installation and to be the SQL Service account.
I'm now trying to add a Secondary Site on a Domain Controller called SEC01 (also Win2008 sp2) and on the same LAN as the SCCM01/02.
This is where I get problems.
I run the installation locally on the Sec Site server (DC) as a Domain Admin and the installation completes OK (all green ticks),
the ComponentSetup.log and Pre-Reqs are all good as well however when I check the ConfigMgrSetup.log I see the below -
Failed to set security on SQL Server registry key. Error: 2.
<11-09-2010 22:46:59> SMS Setup full version is 4.00.6221.1000

Adding the PMP role to SEC01 also fails to install and no MPSetup or MPControl logs are created.
WebDav and win2008 roles, features all added and server fully patched.
Despooler.log on SCCM01 seems good and passing keys.
Tried installing to default path and to shortened path such as C:\SCCM
The new secondary site is listed in the console and an address can be added for the Secondary Site
BITS Server Extensions and Remote Differential Compression Features are enabled.
The Group memberships all appear ok:-
SCCM01
Local Admins
contains the sec site server SEC01, SCCM01, installation accounts
SMS_SiteToSiteConnection_001
SEC01 (the sec site server)
SMS_SiteSystemToSiteServerConnection_001
SCCM02
SEC01
No Local Admins as a DC
SMS_SiteToSiteConnection_002
SCCM01
SMS_SiteSystemToSiteServerConnection_002
empty
SQL 2005
This has the account logged in during installation as a sysadmin
SCCM02 is also sysadmin
The fundamental issue appears to be that the SEC01$ server account is not being added to SQL Logins (and therefore SCCM database Roles)
therefore the installation cannot complete.
I have tried to manually add the SEC01 account to SQL Logins before installation of Sec Site but this did not work.
Not sure if the fact that SEC01 is a DC may be a factor.
Appreciate any help if anyone has seen this before or can suggest a resolution.
ThanksAfter a lot of digging around and head scratching I eventually found the resolution.
The original thread title Error turned out to be a bit of a red herring in that my failure to deploy Sec Sites came down to two separate issues seemingly unrelated to the error message of the thread title.
The first part of the resolution was to manually create the SQL Server accounts for the Sec Site Servers and assign them to the smsdbrole_MP DB role to
let the SQL side of the SCCM install complete a s these were not being created automatically.
This then left the fact that that the installation of the Sec Site completed successfully according to the install logs in C:\ however the DP and MP would
never install.
The big clue was eventually contained in the mpfdm.log errors relating to
**ERROR: Cannot find path for destination inbox SMS_AMT_PROXY_COMPONENT on server REGISTRY SMS_MP_FILE_DISPATCH_MANAGER
and
**ERROR: Cannot find path for destination inbox Asset Intelligence KB Manager on server REGISTRY SMS_MP_FILE_DISPATCH_MANAGER
Thankfully the errors led me to these two blogs:
http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/scassells/archive/2009/07/20/error-cannot-find-path-for-destination-inbox-sms-amt-proxy-component-on-server-registry.aspx
and
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgrsetup/thread/5fcc53d4-8629-4b34-9eaa-6cb020eedc13/
As it turned out the SCCM installation registry and folder creation does not complete and I had to manually enter the reg settings as detailed in the
links above to complete the installation. Once I did as described everything worked a treat – all my MPs and DPs are 100% now.
Solutions
Add the following reg keys to each of your effected secondary sites.
Inbox Fix
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\MPFDM\Inboxes]
"Asset Intelligence KB Manager"="E:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Configuration Manager\\inboxes\\AIKbMgr.box"
"SMS_AMT_PROXY_COMPONENT"="E:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Configuration Manager\\inboxes\\amtproxy.box"

# ThThe installation process is probably being interrupted by your antivirus file scanner. Most security apps incorporate such utilities which spring into action as soon as you attempt to install, or uninstall a program. That has the effect of causing the installation to halt at a certain point and you're left somewhere in limbo.
What I suggest you do here is to find your AV app on this site and then use the instructions to disable it: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html
After doing that, download the Flash uninstaller from here: 32-bit Flash Uninstaller When you see the prompt, choose "Save" and save it somewhere you can find it easily afterwards. Do not choose "Run". Close IE8 before you run the uninstaller.
After the uninstaller terminates, reboot to clear the old Registry entries.
When the system reboots to the desktop, disable your AV app again, then go here to download the latest version: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
This time, when you see the prompt, choose "Run" to install it immediately.
Finally, re-enable your antivirus again.

No material group assigned to this value
Hello, I am trying to add new value to a purchasing organization in extended attributes about product categories.
When I add new value system throws an error message: "No material group assigned to this value", this material group is created in R/3 backend but not in SRM. How can I transport this value to SRM? Only 3 values not all data about material groups.
Thanks in advance
Rosa RodríguezHello, I have this in the transactions that you mentioned:
r3ar2
Request Name: ESN
Adapter Object: DNL_CUST_PROD1
RequestType: Request: Objects could be loaded from R/3 backend / CRM DB
Use One with mark
Table: T023T
FieldName: MATKL
I/E: I Inlusive defined set/array
Opt: BT
Low and High: range of material groups that I want to replicate.
I put in transaction R3ar4 the request name and when I check on transaction r3ar3 this transaction is running and take long time .... I think there is a problem because are only 3 product categories
What can I do to check if the system failed or something similar?
Thanks
Rosa Rodríguez -
Hello all-
I am currently trying to configure group policy (specifically folder redirects) from a new Windows Server 2008 in my home... the server acts as both an AD DS and file server for 4 client computers, all running Windows Vista Ultimate.
Here are the steps I am currently taking:
I create a new Group Policy called All Users and Computers and apply it to the All Users and Computers OU, which contains exactly what it says (all users and computers in the domain).
I verify that a new folder was created in \\<FQDN>\sysvol\<FQDN>\Policies. The new folder created is named {6479C8E0-3134-4B4F-B047-7ADD51684684}
I change the GPO Enforced setting to Enforced.
I attempt to use the gpupdate command to see if the group policy can be updated successfully. In a command prompt, I type gpupdate <enter>. I receive the message 'Updating Policy...' then after about 15 seconds the message 'User Policy update has completed successfully.'
I keep the cmd window open. After about 10 seconds another message apperas which says "Computer policy could not be updated successfully. The following errors were encountered: The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to read the file \\<FQDN>\sysvol\<FQDN>\Policies\{6AC1786C-016F-11D2-945F-00C04Fb984F9}\gpt.ini from a domain controller and was not successful. Group Policy settings may not be applied until this event is resolved. This issue may be transient and could be caused by one or more of the following:
a) Name Resolution/Network Connectivity to the current domain controller.
b) File Replication Service Latency (a file created on another domain controller has not replicated to the current domain controller).
c) The Distributed File System (DFS) client has been disabled.
To diagnose the failure, review the event log or invoke gpmc.msc to access information about Group Policy results."
I confirm that the error code is #3 using the Event Log, "The system cannot find the file specificed"
Of course the system cannot find the file specified because the folder does not exist in the sysvol folder. I am wondering why Windows is trying to read from this location when it does not exist, and is not the new group policy I created! I have no other group policies linked or enforced to any other OU/Domain/etc. Any help resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.Hello all and thanks for the help. First a few things:
I understand that the DC should not be running RRAS, but this a simple server being used in aa home environment by 4 users and getting another server just for RRAS would be overkill.
Secondly, I currently have it so that while the router is handling DHCP, I have reserved a fixed IP for the server, so it always has 192.168.1.100. If I were to use the server as the DHCP, what would my hardware configuration have to look like? I currently have the router plugged into the ISP modem, and then server plugged into the router. All other clients connect to the router wirelessly.
Here's the dcdiag output. I tried dcdiag /fix but to no avail.

Processing of Group Policy Failed - Single DC error 1058
I have been getting the error every 5 mins for awhile:
The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to read the file \\xx.company\sysvol\xxx.company\Policies\{0000000-2323-2222-2222-333333}\gpt.ini from a domain controller and was not successful. Group Policy settings may not be applied until this
event is resolved.
So - this is a single DC 2008R2. It started (I think) back when I joined another server on the domain and did a DCPromo to help build some redundancy. DFS was/is not enabled, do I need to set this up to resolve this?
User are able to login and policy are working, I only see this error on the DC, but other than the error everything seems to be working fine. I can access the share \\xx.company\sysvol\xxx.company\Policies\ and see it from all systems on the domain.
I looked for the Burflags to see if that would help but since there is no DFS there was nothing in the registry.
So at this point, I removed the secondary server via DCpromo, going back to just the 1 server DC but I still get the error. DNS works. When I do a DCDiag everything looks ok except the SysVol - I get about 10 of these

The processing of Group Policy failed... blah blah - same as above.
I looked at this link because of the combination of the 2 errors - Error 1058 and 00422 but its suggesting Authoritative restore, but I don't have the replication.
Now I am wondering if there is a left over connection somewhere in the system that doesn't know that there isn't another DC on the network?
So - any suggestions? Thanks in advance.Hi,
>>Now I am wondering if there is a left over connection somewhere in the system that doesn't know that there isn't another DC on the network?
Did we clean up the metadata of the removed domain controller? If not, we can follow the article below to do this.
Clean Up Server Metadata
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc816907(v=ws.10).aspx
Besides, on the existing domain controller, check Applications and Services Logs\FRS or DFSR logs in Event Viewer. If the issue persists, we can follow the method below to do an authoritative restore for Sysvol.
If we use FRS to replicate Sysvol, we can try to follow the article below to an authoritative restore for Sysvol.
Using the BurFlags registry key to reinitialize File Replication Service replica sets
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/290762
If we use DFSR to replicate Sysvol, we can try to follow the article below to do an authoritative restore for Sysvol.
How to force an authoritative and non-authoritative synchronization for DFSR-replicated SYSVOL (like "D4/D2" for FRS)

The processing of Group Policy failed because of lack of network connectivity to a domain controller
We are setting up a new AD environment with one AD/DC running DNS services, and a secondary DNS server configured with secondary zone. The problem is that none of the machines in the the domain are getting GPO.
When I run a gpupdate /force from a machine, I get the following output:
"Updating Policy...
User Policy update has completed successfully.
Computer policy could not be updated successfully. The following errors were enc
ountered:
The processing of Group Policy failed because of lack of network connectivity to
a domain controller. This may be a transient condition. A success message would
be generated once the machine gets connected to the domain controller and Group
Policy has succesfully processed. If you do not see a success message for sever
al hours, then contact your administrator.
To diagnose the failure, review the event log or run GPRESULT /H GPReport.html f
rom the command line to access information about Group Policy results."
While the system event log outputs the following:
"The processing of Group Policy failed because of lack of network connectivity to a domain controller. This may be a transient condition. A success message would be generated once the machine gets connected to the domain controller and Group Policy
has succesfully processed. If you do not see a success message for several hours, then contact your administrator."
All the machines that were joined to the domain are able to resolve in forward and reverse lookups, ping the DC and ping each other so I dont understand how the error can be resolved.
Here are few things I have tried:
1. I came across this KB which checked ok for me: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/241515
2. Made a copy of the default GPO, applied to a OU with one machine, and made sure to remove any GPO links from above
3. Enabled the following two local Group policies on a test member:
GP slow link detection
Startup policy processing wait time
4. Modified firewall to allow everything on both member and DC
5. Verified DSN logs, SRV records, access to sysvol ( added authenticated users to sysvol)
I have yet to figure out the reason for this issue. Has anyone seen anything like this before?1. I checked the NIC, it only has one IP. and I followed your article. I set the primary DNS to its own IP and the secondary DNS to the loopback ip
2. This is a new DC and DNS server. I dont have old records yet. I also check the DNS event logs. No errors
3. I made sure the member server is pointing only to the only DC/DNS server
4. Here is the output from the dcdiag.... everything passed except, the Netlogons part. I'm not sure what means or how to fix it yet:
