Alex,
Those books that you 'found' are classroom textbooks; and they are generally only made available to students who are taking the underlying class.
For these classes, SAP loads data into their training systems that support the classroom curricula, prior to the start of each class.
So, the easy answer is "take the SAP class". If you take the class, SAP will provide you with a new copy of the course material, and once you are in the classroom, you are generally provided with access to their training system, which is consistent with the course material.

Hallo!

• SAP SD + CRM training & certifications

Dear all,
I am new to this forum & i am interested in getting through SAP SD and SAP CRM certifications, i am a little confused about the timeline for the courses, i will break my doubts into points:
1) Is SAP SD training/certification necessary in order to go through CRM training?
2) What kind of functional experience is necessary for both the certifications? How does inside sales profile (with exposure to CRM system) stand as far as domain experience is concerned?
3) Should i go for Back to back training's of SD & CRM or should i work in SD profile for some time & then opt for CRM? How will the back to back training affect, both positively as well as negatively?
4) Also, instead of SDCRM, will SDMM or SD+PP certification path be better? (i only have sales & marketing exp, no MM or PP exp)
5) I noticed that CRM course is Instructor based & it is for 15 days, other functional courses such as SD,MM,FI etc are 25 days, what might be the difference?
6) The CRM course is quite expensive, INR 3,30,000 ($7000+), is it worth to invest in an authorized CRM program?
7) Apart from the authorized training programs, where else can i get additional knowledge on SD & CRM? Also, i believe that its difficult to know all the business processes in your respective domain, how can i enhance my knowledge on this?
8) What is the difference between CRM 7 & CRM 2007 certifications?
i know i have asked a lot of questions under one post, but i would really appreciate advice on these questions
Thanks a lot in advance.

Sunit

• Is SAP HCM training/certification worth taking a risk and money?

I am based in one of the metro cities and have around 5 years of experience in HR-Recruitment field, current working with a big5 consulting firm. I sense a very slow career growth in my field and am planning to go for a SAP HCM certification. I checked with ATOS and they are charging a whopping amount of 4 Laks.
The amount is very high and also I fear of losing my current role. I am unable to decide shall I go ahead with my plan or shall I continue doing my current job.

I was also have 6 years of functional experience before coming into this field. I took a drop of one year, and studied for certification. I was based in a small town where there was just one good company into SAP. So I joined that, gained good knowledge and learned how to deal with the clients. Worked there for 3 years at a low salary (it was quite low. But in metros you have good options, so you might expect more, and this was 4 years back, so that time in small town like Indore, the salary was very low as compared to Indore). Now I am in Mumbai, and earning a very good package. It surely takes time, but within this span of time, your money will be refunded to you. If you get a good branded company, it can be repaid within a year.
So, I would suggest, do try for this, and clear your certification, which will give you added advantage. Do not bother if you get a small company at an initial level. Rather I would suggest to try for a small company first, as you get to learn a lot from there. In MNC, you will have limited scope. But if you go for a small company at an initial level, your learning will be good. But yes, package will be less. I feel at initial stage in SAP career, package should not be the constraint. If you do your work sincerely, and honestly, you definately get paid in future with a good reward.
So I would suggest, do go for the certification. If you cannot afford the classroom training, go for online training (which I had also done), it might be cheaper than the classroom training.
All the best, and do your best.
Regards,
Bhagyashree

• I need to do sap sd certification ,training for same is very costly from authorised center and i canot afford ,the other way is i do training from unauthorised center and take certification exam in any country where prerequisite is not doing training

i need to do sap sd certification ,training for same is very costly from authorised center and i canot afford ,the other way is i do training from unauthorised center and take certification exam in any country where prerequisite is not doing training from authorised center.how good it it to do prepare from unauthorised center and take exam in any country like australia ,US ?please help understand .

Hi Preeti,
please first understand the difference between a subject (your header) and its body line, please never write so long subject matter.
Now coming to your queries , what you thinks being at Australia or US is free of Cost. The first thing is that i don't understand your mission for taking Certifications, Are you a working proffesional because for more than 2 yrs. of working experience, you don't need any training , you can take direct examinations.
And if you are not a working professional, i don't thing taking any certification will serve any purpose in your job hunt, although it will enrich your Resume only, you will nothing get out of this from just taking a vertification
So, please tell us that you are a fresher or having real time working exposure in SAP SD module, then any one will guide you well.

• ANY WAY to do Certification without any SAP training and experience?

This simple question is getting so confusing now. Please help.
This is India scenario. If you are mentioning some info for other countries PLEASE remember to do so. The confusion it creates is amazing!
I completed my engineering in July 2013 and then went for SAP ABAP training from an location institution which is NOT an SAP partner. I have no work experience and I'm still looking for ABAP opportunities.
Now, suddenly a friend has told me that someone he knows DID the official SAP ABAP certification by just studying from home for a fees of 40k (INR).
So I call up SAP education in Bangalore (in India) and confirm that the only way to get certified is:
- Through course + certification from their partners for fresher.
- And through your employer if it's an SAP partner.
I already knew this and this is what I've been believing till day. Now enters pearson vue.
So I do some googling and find the below responses regarding the SAP certification from peason vue.
This blog post: Frequently Asked Questions about SAP Certificationsays the following and it doesn't mention any country wise info.
Do certification programs have prerequisites, such as participation in a series of training courses?
While there is no course or set of courses required to take a particular certification exam, SAP provides a list of recommended training you can take to better prepare for an exam. In addition, completing an exam for a lower-level (associate) certification is not a prerequisite for taking a higher-level (professional) exam, although many professional-level certification seekers might find it helpful.
Then there is this post from 2010:
SAP-SD Certification though PEARSON VUE---INDIAwhich got the following response:
"Hi,
Pearson VUE is an examination center (where you can directly book your exam (any exam apart from SAP, like TOEFL,gre..).
Third party for any on line examination. if you wish to do certification without any authorized training , you can go for Pearson VUE.
Where as, Siemens is SAP authorized technology center. where you can get certification training by certain amount and then appear for the exam.
Hope i am clear.
Regards
Nagaraju"
What this doesn't mention is CAN recent graduates (also called freshers in India) go for pearson vue or previous SAP experience (at an SAP partner) is required?
TL;DR
My questions straight to the point:
I completed my engineering in July 2013 and then I went for SAP ABAP training from an location institution which is NOT an SAP partner. I have no work experience (SAP or ANY other).
Can I go an enroll for the official SAP ABAP certification from Pearson Vue?
I'm asking this for India but if it's possible in other countries then too please reply and mention the rules etc.

Allwyn,
SAP has a very confusing policy with regards to certification as it varies country by country. I wrote this a long time ago and it needs updating (Learning SAP when you don't have an SAP job already - Authorized Classes). This will give you the general rundown of what's available in terms of course of study.
It sounds like your friend signed up for an eAcademy. (I think they may have changed the name now, but basically it's online learning, not onsite, instructor led learning).
Now, here's the kicker. I'm going to divide the world into two groups: Group 1 and Group A. (Yes, it's a mixed metaphor, and it's deliberate. Read on.)
Countries in Group 1 have Authorized Training Providers. If you live in a country with Authorized Training Providers, the only way to get official SAP Training and the only way to sit for a certification examination is to go through Authorized Training. There are some exceptions: you can get your company to swear that you've got several years of experience or get an implementation partner to do the same, but it's a lot of hassle it's an extreme minority route. The bulk of the certifications for folks in Group 1 countries are via paid training via Authorized Training Providers. The certification and the training are completely linked.
For countries in Group A, the only Authorized Training Provider is SAP itself. If you want official SAP training, you must get it from SAP; HOWEVER, anyone can take the certification exam just by signing up at a Pearson Vue center. The training and the certification are completely unlinked.
I purposely used a mixed metaphor because there is no value judgement here. There are pros and cons to each system. The Group 1 method provides a clear route for folks to get trained and certified in SAP. Also, there is healthy competition between ATPs so the cost to get trained and certified is very low (compared to Group A). As a result, there seems to be far more certified SAP resources coming from those countries. The downside is that we hear horror story after horror story of folks who have been told by unscrupulous ATPs that getting certified is all it would take to get a job. Experience is far more important than certification in getting entry level positions in the SAP world. Certification plays more of a role at the mid-level, but the ATPs have children to feed and seem to accept anyone with enough cash, regardless of whether or not that person will be able to get a job afterwards. Check out SAP Career Blog Links for some blogs on that topic (and other related topics).
The Group A method allows anyone to get certified who has enough cash, but paradoxically, I would wager that the failure rate is much higher as more folks sit for the exam unprepared. Citizens of countries in Group A tend not to see a clear route from college graduate to SAP career. The official training is so expensive, that it isn't really an option to pay for your own training and hope for a job after. In Group A countries, most of the training is taken by folks who have gotten a job first and then have the training paid for by the company who has hired them.
So, by now you have guess that you are in a Group 1 country and your friend is in a Group A country.
While not a definitive list, the last time I checked it broke down something like this:
Group 1: India, Middle Eastern, African, Asian and South American Countries (+Mexico), Eastern Europe
Group A: North American Countries (Canada + US), Western Europe. Australia
You can find an list of Training Locations and check it out country by country to look for exceptions or specific details. If you're willing to travel, then you can test any time. If you can't travel, you're stuck with finding an ATP that you can afford if you live in a Group 1 country. In the past, all ATPs offered on-site, in-person, instructor-led training. I've heard that some are moving to the eAcademy training so that they don't have to pay local instructors (but still charge essentially the same price). I'd be interested in your experience as you go through this process. I encourage you to blog every step of the way! Blog about the various offerings of each ATP and tell us what the salespeople promise you/say to you before you sign up. Contrast that to the reality of the training and the help you get after you've had the training. You will be providing a much appreciated service to all of those who come behind you.
I hope this helps clear things up. I'm basically going to cut and paste this into a FAQ blog for this topic so folks can refer to it later. This is a fairly frequent source of confusion. I could have sworn that I wrote this all up in a blog earlier, but I can't find it, so I thank you for bringing this up so I can get this properly documented. Please ask any questions you may have so I can address them in the blog when it's ready.
Best regards,
--Tom

• Pre-Requisite for SAP BPC certification

Dear Gurus,
Hope you all are good. I am an ABAPER. I want to do SAP BPC certification. Can somebody tell what kind of functional and technical knowledge is required for this certification or to work in BPC. Some told me you need a strong FI/CO knowledge for tis certification some say you need BW technical knowledge for this. I will be highly appreciatibe if someone tells me the pre-requisites or basics in percentage. Can ABAPER moves toward BPC?
My second question is what is the job demand for SAP BPC?
Thanks in advance.
Regards

Saida,
Where did you get the information from that "you have to select in which version you need a certification, there may be 2 seperate test for those two" ???
Look at the link below for SAP BPC Certification C_EPMBPC_10.
https://training.sap.com/shop/certification/c_epmbpc_10-sap-certified-application-associate---sap-business-planning-and-consolidation-100-g/certification-details/
It clearly states that candidate needs to have knowledge on both versions -
It validates that the Associate Consultant has a good sound knowledge and understanding of SAP Business Planning and Consolidation in SAP Business Planning and Consolidation 10.0, version for SAP NetWeaver and SAP Business Planning and Consolidation 10.0, version for the Microsoft platform.

• Difference between OpenSAP free and SAP paid Certifications?

Hi OpenSAP team,
I have taken part in few HANA courses, namely,
"An Introduction to SAP HANA, Dr.Vishal Sikka"
"SAP Business Suite Powered by SAP HANA"
"Introduction to SAP HANA Cloud Platform"
and also registered for "SAP BW Powered by SAP HANA"
My question is, how different are these participation certificates from the other paid fee obtained certificates? In my case, what more SAP HANA cources should I take to get equal to SAP HANA Certification?
If these OpenSAP courses is equivalent to SAP Certifications, then that would be great.
Many thanks,
Gopal Seri

Hi Gopal,
Thank you for reaching out to us. The Record of Achievement from openSAP is not comparable to an SAP certification.
To receive an SAP certification, you should go to the SAP Training and Certification Shop (http://training.sap.com) to find other great offerings from SAP. You can easily find courses that relate to those that you've completed on openSAP.
For example, if you search for SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA on http://training.sap.com and go to the openSAP course, you can find related courses and certifications.
If you've completed Introduction to SAP HANA Cloud Platform, then you can find follow up trainings on openSAP such as Next Steps in SAP HANA Cloud Platform and Extending SAP Products with SAP HANA Cloud Platform. These trainings provide you with practical skills and allow you to learn from your location. You can also find related courses and certifications from the SAP Training and Certification Shop.
I hope that helps you to find further trainings from SAP. Happy learning!
Kind regards,
Claire

I Want to do Sap MM Certification course.
Please advice me more about the same it will help me in getting SAP MM Consultant job?

Hi Manish,
literally saying its a problem with major IT/ Non IT companies that they never consider any freshers in sap , its a scenario in almost technologies, but its a major problem in IT companies. Yes i totally agree with you that, most of the career intitute provide fake matters like having tie up with major companies to take their students through placements.
Listen, whatever your previous experience will be whenever you will move towards sap module , you will be considered as a fresher only, and for a fresher its too tough to get a job in sap world, but its not impossible, if you have determined and you have enthuasism for the same, please don't care for hurdles, as you have industry exposure, you will surely get benifitted through it.
Now according to me, you can take training from where you finds more suitable for you, practice well during training period, and after that you can search job inittially in any non it companies, as they have less criteria requirements, once you will get placed anywhere you will become an experienced proffessional, then you can move easily towards any major IT companies. Initially it will be tough to get a job, but you can take the help from your all contacts in taking a job in sap.
It looks and perhaps its tough in first seen, but i have seen many people who have achieved their goal through consistent efforts.
