Derivation of customer group from business area.

In CO-Profitability Analysis Sector wise Gross/Net margin analysis is being done based on the customer grp.
But all the actual Goods issues to warranty is posted only against business area.
We does have a mapping in Z Table for customer Grp. & Business area.
Now we need to define a derivation rule to get customer grp for COPA from business area for warranty issues/Returns

Hi Swetha
KEDR is the only solution... You need to find out why your derivation rule is not working...
In your derivation rule, please click on the magnifying lens beside KMKDGR and see which radio button is switched on... If it is 1st radio button (Do Not Overwrite....), change it to the 3rd Radio Button ..
Also in the "Attributes" tab, check the option of "issue error msg if no value found"
If the above does not help, ThenI would suggest to test the derivation rule...
Select your derivation rule and Press F8... You can enter your sales order No, etc and click on "Derivation".... Once that is done, click on "Analyze derivation" and you can see the analysis

Hi,
To what I know, you'd probably have to write a user exit, as well as maintain a mapping table. The fact is that segment works almost similarly to business area and hence there is not connection between the 2.
The closest I can think of is the connection between cost centre and profit centre. Cost centre contains the business area assignment and profit centre the segment assignment.

Error in delta load of 'Customer Group' from R/3 to CRM

Hi Experts,
I added new 'Customer Groups' in R/3. But this is not being updated in CRM. Do I have to trigger initial load again through R3AS or should I create new Customer Groups in CRM?
The BP delta load BDocs are stuck in SMW01 due to this change. Also, if I need to do the Initial load of Customer Group, which object do I need to do the load for? Is it dnl_cust_sales?
Please help as it is a Production issue.

Use object 'DNL_CUST_SALES' to download Customer Group from R/3 to CRM.
Use R3AS4 transaction to execute the same.

Profit center derived from business area

Hello,
We are having a problem with one of our business areas. We are posting F-53 disbursements from a custom program (using a BDC). When we fill in the initial screen, we currently fill the business area field (GSBER). The profit center (PRCTR) is then derived from the business area. This is working for all of our business areas except one. For this one particular business area, an invalid profit center (one that doesn't exist) is somehow being derived. Where is the derivation determined? I've seen transactions 3KEH, 3KEI, and 1KE4 all mentioned in reference to derivation rules; unfortunately I can't access any of these (no authorization), so I can't even look to see whether we have any entries there or if those transactions are relevant to this problem. If someone can tell me which transaction or table would control the business area to profit center derivation, I can at least have someone with the correct authorizations take a look. I was able to look in FMDERIVE, and I don't see any relevant strategies there.

Solved: Entries were in 3KEI. The entries there had been moved to test and production, but the corresponding profit center entry in CEPC had not.

Documnet type RE is given business transaction varaint 'vendor invoice'.
In this input tax account item category is assigned in the splitting rule.
In fact, system inherits BA and PC from opposite line item.
But when we substitute other PC in input tax account then the system stops inheriting for BA also.
So, my question is whether inheritance will apply to all characteristics only or it can be applied for one characteristic ( BA) and other charactriestic PC can be derived in another way using substitution.

I have a FA substitution of Field 'segment' is substituted by Field BSEG-GSBER.
But its not picking the Business area as Segment for the 'AFABN' postings.

Check G/L field status group for Business area

Hi, when I set the buiness area, I set field status group to required for BA field, the setting always check the BA field on accouting doc. But some G/L is automatic posted, always show "Business area is a required field for G/L account ...",
Can you help me to slove, thanks

Check the following issues
1)Check the status of the other GL accounts field status for business areas.
2)Check if there is any validation for GL accounts which can be given without business area.

My ex-company used to use BA for reporting, and subsequently they moved over to PCA.... with minimal impact of course.
A few considerations :
1. Is your PCA active? Rightfully the profit centres are usually set up as statistical cost collector.... but you might need to check if there is any configuration that prevents cost/revenue from posting into PCA
2. Is the hierarchy in PCA properly set up? Functionally speaking, BA is no difference to PCA since they are both measuring the business by funcational area.... You can create standalone hierarchies in PCA to capture the business reporting, such as legal reporting structures, or Line of Business structures.
3. What kind of reporting is used for Business area.... are they present in PCA?
I think you'd have to think through the steps carefully... if point 1 is met, the change in reporting would be simple enough. Otherwise, you would have to consider how to bridge the data gap.

I tell u one thing business area and profit centers are assign in Cost Centers ok and Segments are assign in Profit centers so based on this the document is automatically splitting ok if u want to change the business areaas optional and PCA with mandatory thru OBC4 ok.i think u can mentain Businee area as a Segment so it is working very effectively now a days all of the companies are follow with out business area becoz if u fallow business area automatic postings are not update directly and also some of the problems inmonth end activies check which is better.

Different Business Area in Customer line item while Billing

We are on Ecc 6.0 and We have a requirement of Different Business Area in Customer line while billing. Since we had defined Business area location wise and requirement is Sundry Debtors should always book to Location as maintained in delivery plant field of sales area data in customer master.
Requirement:- Our material is assigned to Plant 115.In customer master, sales area data -> shipping tab -> Delivery Plant (KNVV- VWERKS), we are maintaining "112", Now while billing and while generating Accounting document account entry is
Customer 1000.00 (Business area=115)
sales 1000.00 (Business area=115)
But our requirement while accounting document after billing is
Customer 1000.00 (Business area=112), system should check and derive the same from TABLE KNVV - VWERKS(DEL PLANT)
sales 1000.00 (Business area=115).

Diferent business area from plant

Hi,
I am tring to post sales documents with the business area not equal to plant. In other words with a different assignation from table mantained in customizing.
I tried a user exit. Bu my question is: In customizing can we assign several business areas do a unique plant?

If i understood your question correctly what you want is different business area according to your sales transaction. If you want this this is very much possible you can have any business area to any plant.
Please check the seeting in customizing node "Assign Business Area by Sales Area"
here you can assign business area as per your sales area and not as per your plant this will apply to all sales document. please also check the update rule in "Define Rules By Sales Area " after you make this seeting.

How to install sources for infobject from business content

I have 16 infobjects for which we need to move to prod and there are no connections to it but the infobjects are active and some are i modified state, like no datasources, infosources, transfer rules etc., Can you please tell me the approach to install all the necessary for them. Inorder to install the business object, you will be require to follow the following steps :
i)Go to RSA1 (Admistrator Workbench) for installing the Business Content. Navigate to object you want to install. Now you want to install the info object then select Info Object.
ii)Select your Info Object say 0MATL_GROUP (material Group).Click on Transfer selections.
iii)Now when the info object is selected. It will always be in default selection (Only Necessary object), Now if you want to install the various other things like data source, transformation rule etc as you specify in query
iv) For that go to grouping select IN DATAFLOW BEFORE AND AFTERWARDS. One more thing If you want to specify the Source system then u can do it by clicking on that Yellow Box (symbol specify the source system) adjacent to BEx (Truck Symbol). This mainly used for the things like transformation, update rule etc as you want.
v)Now you want to see if there can be some predictive error then go Install --> Simulate Installation.
vi)Now important point to note is MATCH(X) or COPY. Now suppose you already have the Material Group install in your system in Active version. Now here if you didnu2019t select the MATCH check box then your A-version Material Group will be overwritten by the D-version Material group provided by SAP.
vii)For ur more understanding lets take the example say you have added two customer specific attribute to Material Group now twist is SAP has also just release the enhance material Group with two additional attribute. Now you are very curious of getting this two attribute in your already active Material Group. For this you will be required to install the material Group from Business content. If you forget to check the Match option then your customer specific attribute will be lost. So to retain them we have to check the MATCH(X)

Error while deleting a custom group associated with role 'BIConsumer'

We are using OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 and using the BISQLGroupProvider to get the groups from database tables for an user available in LDAP.
I have a group named 'OBA Test Group' created in a database table. This group is linked to a user in another database table.
In OBIEE enterprise manager, the group 'OBA Test Group' is associated with Application role 'BIConsumer'.
In OBIEE enterprise manager , when i try to remove this custom group from the application role 'BIConsumer' i am getting the error as 'The search for role OBA Test Group failed'.

I suffered a similar situation, the solution I found was edit the file named "system-jazn-data.xml" and remove the entries that correspond to the role (expected to be delete). Of course take the precautions before do this actions (backup the file and do it in an test scenario).
