Derivation rules table name KEDE
Hi,
I have to fetch the values from Derivation rules maintained in KEDE & 8KER. But the derivation tables names are created by system and the names are system dependent and client dependent.
Eg : K9RS013900010 where S01 is my development system and 390 is the client. If the derivation rule is created in Quality and Production systems, the Table names will differ accordingly.
Is there any solution to the above problem. Is there any FM or some way to get the derivation table name.
Thanks in advance,
Vishnu Priya
The derivation rules tables exist in table TKEDRS ( field Method = 'DRULE' )

My users have created some transparent tables using the derivation rules in the Grants Management module. I need to read these tables in a Z program. The issue is, when the rule is run in each client the table name is generated by the system and varies from client to client. Does anyone know of a way to get these table names dynamically either from a function module or another table?
Thank you,
BeckyHi,
Is there any solution to the above problem. I am also facing the same problem, as to how to get the derivation rules tables.
Thanks in advance,

Derivation rule - Table look up
Hi All,
Can u explain about the Table look up, Move and Clear options in derivation rule. What type of Fields can be looked up, Moved and cleared to what characters? Can u advise me for detailed study.
RegardsHi,
Derivation of characteristics happen if the existing characteristics does not support your requirements. Such derivations are based upon other characteristics.
There are different ways to derive characteristics. Such ways are -
1. <b>Table look up</b> : Here the characteristics are dereived based on reading a table.
Constraint: The source field should be the key field in the table
<b>Example</b>: U want to have a characteristics Division based out of Material Master.
Source field : Product Number (Key field of MARA)
So based on the pdt number, the material master table is read and the division is identified. If the record is found, the division is fetched and used
<b>2. Move</b>: Copies the constant from the source char to the target char
<b>Example</b>: If sold to party and ship to party are same.
source: Sold to party
Requirement: U want to determine the char Ship to party
So whatever data in soldtoparty is moved to ship to party for derievng its char
<b>3 Clear</b>: deletes the value of charac and move back to its initial value
<b>Example</b>: if based on certain condition, the value of char should be initialized\
If Product number=124, then CLEAR employee no char.

Hi,
Refer the tables CE1****,CE2*,CE3***,CE4**(CEcompany name- will be in the format) Like that.
or Just search with CE* as the key in SE16.
This also varies based on the costing based & account based. Refer the above tables you will casme to know the details for the same.

Table look up and derivation rule in COPA
Hi,
What is the difference between table look up and derivation rule in COPA. How do we inter rellate them in customizing.
Please clarify.

Method which is used in the derivation step.
You can choose from the following derivation types:
Derivation rule :
Derivation rules are "if-then" rules, in which you specify which combination's of characteristic values will yield which target characteristic values.
Table look-up :
Table look-ups let you determine characteristic values by having the system read them from any table. The source fields must correspond to the key of the table where you want the system to find the target value.

Usage of TRM Field attributes: table name in BRF+
Hi,
in the customizing activity SM34 - VC_FMCA_TRM_SCENARIO (Define Forms) you can define in the "TRM Fields Attributes" folder for each field the Setting for BRFPLUS where you should write a Table Name.
The name you enter in this field is used by BRFPLUS_MANAGER.
Could you please explain for what and when is useful this customizing?
Thanks.
MiroslavAs explained in the IMG activity documentation:
" To compare values from different versions of a form in your Tax Processing Web Dynpro application, you select the form view field, double-click the TRM Fields Attribute entry on the left-hand side and make the required entries.
7. In the TRM Fields Attribute area you can also define which form fields you want to analysis in BW. If you mark the extraction-relevant field, the system automatically defaults the field name. The derivation of this field name is done via event P343. The system shows this field name in the DataSource as well as in the program that generates the DataSource for an ISR form. For more information, about this program, follow this link.
If you are using BRFplus as the rules engine for tax returns validation and tax calculation you can enter a table name for form fields. Customizing activity Define BRFplus Objects for Form Bundles generates one BRFplus data object of the type 'table' for all fields assigned to one table name.
Caution:
Be very careful when assigning fields to table names as you can neither undo the assignment nor use this field for any other assignment."
I think it's self explanatory....

Deleting derivation rule for the existing characteristic in operating conce
Hi all
My customer has two characteristics" Billing Doc(VBELN)" and" Warranty status" in the development and testing client and not in the production now.
Option 1 : Is to delete them but as the data is already posted for the same in the test and development client,it is lot more complex( involves implementation of OSS notes-SAPNET note 21207) .
Option 2: If we decide to keep them for now:These two have a derivation rules too. So can we simply delete the derivation rules so that data will not get posted to them( So will not effect the PSG i.e ce4xxxx table in production once the same transport is moved to production). There are no dependencies on this derivation rule.
Option 3: Can we also remove them from segment level characteristics?
Please let me know pros and cons ?
I really appreciate your time and effort.
Thanks & Regards
SriHi,
If the characteristics have not been transported to production then why don't you delete them in the dev/test system ? Here you can take the risk.
To delete characteristics or value fields, perform the following
activities:
1. Delete the corresponding characteristics and value fields from Customizing in all clients (this includes forms, reports, planning
layouts, and so forth). To locate characteristics and value fields, use the appropriate where-used list in the Customizing Monitor. You can access it by choosing Tools -> Analysis -> Check Customizing Settings (TA KECM).
You can jump directly from the where-used list to the relevant Customizing transaction and then delete the appropriate field there.
2. Switch to the screen for maintaining the data structure of an operating concern (Maintain operating concern).
3. If you need to effect other changes to the datastucture for the operating concern before making any deletions, effect those changes and save the data structure.
4. In order to be able to select the fields of the data structure, choose Extras -> Characteristics (or Value fields) -> Unlock.
5. Select the characteristics and value fields to be deleted and remove them from the data structure with the "Reset fields" function.
6. Reactivate the operating concern. The system starts by checking whether the operating concern contains any data and whether the fields to be deleted are still being used in any Customizing settings.
7. If none of the fields are still in use, the system then starts the re-activation. If the operating concern does not contain any data or does not require the database system to be converted, the tables are activated. You are then able to activate the environment for the operating concern. In this case, the following activities no longer apply.
If the operating concern already contains data, a system message tells you that the database needs to be converted. If you proceed, an activation log appears (at the top of the list).
8. Analyze the activation log. If it only contains error messages telling you to convert the tables, proceed with the next activity.
You must otherwise remove the cause of the errors before the tables can be converted. In this case, you should answer "No" to the next prompt, which asks whether the conversion transaction should start.
9. If you still only receive error messages telling you to convert the tables, choose "Back" and start the conversion.
10. Plan a job for the conversion. A list of the tables to be converted is shown for this. If the tables only contain a small amount of data (less than 10 000 records), then all the tables can be converted in one job. In that case, you can select all the tables.
For larger tables, conversion should take place in several jobs.
However, you should ensure that table CE4xxxx (where xxxx = operating concern) is the last table to be converted.
Warning. No other changes can be made to the operating concern during the conversion.
A copy of the table is generated during the conversion. The database system should have sufficient memory available for this copy.
To schedule conversion as a job, use the "Schedule selections" function.
You can display the current status of the conversion by selecting the "Refresh" icon. Tables disappear from the list once they have been converted sucessfully. If a conversion is taking a while, it is also possible to leave the transaction. You can then continue the conversion using DB requests -> Mass processing in one of the following ways:
With the job overview. You access this by choosing System -> Services ->Jobs.
Using the database utility transaction. You access this by choosing Utilities -> Database Utility in the ABAP Dictionary menu.
You can use the status function to call up the status of the operating concern during operating concern maintenance. You need to activate all tables after conversion.
11. To analyze errors that have occurred during the conversion, you can use the database utility transaction by choosing Extras -> Logs. The log has the same name as the conversion job: TBATG-date. You can also restart the conversion with this transaction.
For more information on the database utility, choose Help -> Application help while still in the above transaction.
12. Once you have activated all the tables in the operating concern, generate the operating concern environment from within operating concern maintenance.
You can then use the operating concern again.
Please, refer to the IMG documentation under Controlling ->Profitability Analysis -> Structures -> Define operating concern
-> Maintain operating concern, for further details.

How to delete derivation rule - COPA (KEA5)
Hi All,
Could you please inform me how to delete derivation rule(COPA_KOSTL) in KEA5 transaction code ? when we try to delete the system displaying the following message :
Message No K6430
Diagnosis
you are trying to delete a field delivered by SAP, although you are in the customer name range
System Response
You can delete the field, but must assume that the field will reappear in the next put.
Procedure
We are dealing with a currency - you can delete the field.
We added this field to Operating concern and now we want to delete this field.
Awaiting your valuable replied.
Thanks in advance
Srinivasa CharyHi,
In KEA5 did you copied the fixed characterisitics and created your own user Characterisirics. It is better not to copy the standard fields with table Since both will have same feature if you rename to another Desciption text.

BW 7.0 - Extraction of the FM derivation rule gl_account - commitment item
Hello,
I need to load in BW the FI-FM tables of the derivation rules between GL account and commitment item.
The particularity of these tables is that their name is client-dependant.
Example: the table name in development system is: totoDEV; in production system: totoPROD.
I created a specific datasource based on table SKA1 and added the commitment item in the extraction structure .
Now, I have to write the function EXIT_SAPLRSAP_002. I know I need to use a variable for the table name but I don't know how to do that, because I can not declare the production table in development system. I need some abap help!!
Great thanks in advance.
JacquesHi,
I can think of three possibilities for a solution.
1. Store the name of the required table in a config table and select at runtime
2. use an 'IF' or 'CASE' statement to deterimine which system you are currently in and then place the required varible within this statement.
3. Preferred solution: use a Field Symbol to assign the table at run-time, this way no errors will occur and your program will compile.
There are many examples of FIELD SYMBOLS on SDN and even the F1 help in SAP.

Derivation Rule Problem After A Client Copy
Hello,
Has anyone ever encountered a problem with derivation rules after a client copy is performed? After a client copy, we have "some" FM and GM derivation rules (not all of them) that have to be manually copied from the source to the target client (line by line by line by line). I'm thinking that there has to be a way to prevent this since some rules are fine after the clent copy. Your input would be greatly appreciated.
WillI believe that we have resoved our issue. For the derivation rule values that would never copy, we re-created these again starting in DEV and transported the derivation rules throughout the entire landscape (QAS and PRD). Evidently some derivation rules (and the related values stored in the tables) were created directly in Production. During a client copy the values in the tables for the derivation rules that were created directly in our Production environment would not copy to our QAS environment. Those rules were stored in a table named FMFMOAPRD1000122. Note that PRD is in the table name. After re-creating the rule and transporting it through the landscape, the table was named FMFMOADEV1000152 (for example).

What are attributes we can use in LDAP query in server derivation rules
Q: What are attributes we can use in LDAP query in server derivation rules
A: Server derivation rules can be defined for an LDAP server in the same way as that for a Radius server. As opposed to a Radius server, where the list of attributes that are defined for a server are standard, for an LDAP server, the attributes depend on the type of the server.
The following table contains the list of attributes that are available for an Active Directory implementation. The server may maintain only a subset of these attributes, depending on how the user entries have been configured.

to map special characters you need to use an element called CDATA in your mapping
a special character causes an error....as XI wont be able to read it (as it is not in a proper XML format)...so to parse this character through XI without causing an eror use the CDATA....just make a search on SDN and you will find the proper use of it....

Derivation Rule in report painter
I want Product describtion along with Product number. in a report. I have created a derivation rule through KEDR. and coppied the product describtionin the rule. Now how to use this derivation rule in the report.
Harish,
There is no need to define seprate derivation rule as product description is readily available in COPA tables.
Just select product description characterstics for available list while designing report. If report already exists then go to change mode and make nessesary changes.
Please call me for any more inputs.
