Derived dep area flow to CO module

Hi Experts,
I have a special scenario where I am going to assign the Leading Ledger to the derived depreciationa area which will make postings to GL on periodic basis. To move forward, I want to understand whether the derived depreciation values are flow to CO module or not. I guess, since it is making the real time postings to GL, it should go to CO module as the depreciation accounts always will be cost elements.
Can somebody please clarify my question about assigning the derived depreciation area to leading ledger and appreciate if anybody provides their valuable experience regarding whether it is SAP best practice or not and other consequences as well.
Thanks in advance
Ramki

Dear Ramki
Derived depreciation is a differnce between 2 depreciation areas and its statistical.  It will not updated in CO and the depreciation expenses is not a overhead cost of production, its a diminishing value of asset only.

  • Newly activated Dep Areas-How values computed

    Hi Gurus,
We have just activated a new Dep area 61.   This area 61 is a difference from 01 and 60 Areas.
We just noticed that the ordinary depreciation for area 61 started only for Period 4 amounting to 15.56.   Period 01 to 3 is not there.  In Area 01, The dep amount was scattered to 3.89 and it seems that the 15.56 is the dep value for 4 periods (Pd 1 to 4 which is 3.89 x 4 = 15.56).
Is this the way it behave.?
Can i perform adjustment only for Area 61?

    Hi Pankaj,
We activated Area 60 for Period 4.  And Yes,  this seems to be a catch-up menthod.   But the thing is.. user is complaining that they need to adjust value in Area 61.
    Ex.
    Area 01                          Area 60               Area 61 Derived Dep area (01 - 60)
    Pd. 1     =     -3.89           none                   None
    Pd. 2     =     -3.89           none                   None
    Pd  3     =     -3.89           none                   None
    Pd. 4     =     -3.89           -15.56                 -11.67
    Pd. 5     =     -3.89           -3.89                   None
    Pd. 6     =     -3.89           -3.89                    None
Now the question is... they are insisting that Area 61 needs to be adjusted and reflect zero due to audit purposes.
Area 61 is derived dep area coming from Area 01 and Area 60.    If i perform adjustment, this will not allow.
    Please help.

  • Year end closing - facing problem in dep area 55

We have Chart of Depreciation as - SUSA
Dep area 55 is derived from - 01 and 20
it is assigned to 4 company codes and when ever the posting triggered to Dep area 55, parallel posting will happen to company code 9010.
so, I think due to parallel dep configuration we are unable to do year end closing for the 4 company codes.
we had to deactivate dep area 55- make options 0 from 2.
so, when we tried to deactivate dep area 55 - make options 0 from 2, it is throwing an error
SUSA 55 - Area customizing in area 55 is inconsistent.
    Message No. ACC_AA043
    Diagnosis
Customizing for depreciation area 55 in Chart of depreciation SUSA is incorrect.
For this depreciation area, settings at chart of depreciation level and for company code 2010 is inconsistent.
    System response
Asset posting in this form are rejected
    Procedure
Correct customizing by adjusting or removing(recommended) the obsolete customizing.
Kindly suggest what changes can be done to remove the above error.
    Thank you

    Hi,
As long as you have entries in ACCMAP, this depreciation area can  not be changed with OADB any more. Changes for this area in OADB  are only allowed if no ACCMAP entries for this area exist any more.

  • Material Master Prft Segments are flowed in COPA Doc But not in FI Doc

    Dear Experts,
When we create and save the invoice VF01, system generated FI, CO and COPA doc.
Here Material relevant Profitability Segments (material Code-0001, Plant-10, Profit Center-1000) are flowed properly in COPA Doc.
But in FI document flowed only SD relevant Profitability Segments but not material relevant.
And Dummy profit center has been populated in FI doc instead of profit center 1000 (which is available in material Master).
    Please assist me reg thisu2026.

  • Country specific Dep Area

    Hi All,
If there are two depreciation areas say 01 and 10 and 01 dep. area is my Book Dep area and 10 dep area is my country dep area.
So now when i run the dep posting, should the dep be posted to both the dep areas.
I am aware of how to configure this technically, but i need to understand the process - how do we post the dep in the country specific dep area.
    Thanks and regards,
    Ankur

    Hi
As SAP only one depreciation area can be real (posting) and other depreciation area are normally for reporting purpose. But, we ca have a derived depreciation area which is deemed as real depreciation are which can be posted.
    Like
    Dep - 01
    Dep - 10
Derived depreciation is suppose 51 which (DA-01 less DA-10)
In this case you can deem depreciation area 51 as country specific depreciation area.
    Thanks

  • The flow of MM module to be known by an ABAPer ?

Plz tell the basic flow of MM module (work-flow of MM module) which must be known by an ABAP programmer, sothat he/she can code reports efiiciently,
(also mention the respective MM tables names and their major fields for each phase)

    HI,
MM starts with creation of <b>purchase requsition</b> ,it is an internal document raised inside the orgasitation. If suppose ur pc is not working you will tell this to your manager and he/she in turn need to place an order to the it dept for the new pc .this is internal doc flowing inside the organisation.this is purchse requistion.
After the purchase requisition IT dept checks for the satndard vendors that are avaiable to buy pc like Hp,IBM,DELL.(<b>vendor</b> :A company which supplies parts or services to another company. also called supplier. )IF there are any standard vendors we directly place an order.
If not IT dept will send <b>R.F.Q</b>(request for quotation) for the vendors and in turn vendors will send quotaion .
After they send the quotation IT dept will compare all the quotations selects one based on the price simulation ans select one like from HP and place an <b>purchase order .</b>(Commercial documents used to request vendors to supply a product or service in return for payment and providing specifications and quantities. )
after placing the purchase order <b>goods recepit</b> will be done based on the purchase order.(goods receipt will some times with out considering purchase order as Po will not be placed sometimes for urgent requirement)
->Then comes invoice verification.Invoice verification be sometimes before goods receipt also.

  • Error when selecting depreciation area as real dep. area

When trying to create a new derived depreciation area and select it as real dep. area in order to be able to post values in FI-GL, I get an error and the system does not allow me to post. I´m working with version 4.6 and need to post values in GL from a derived area. Can anyone help me?

And is it possible to post in the derived area even though it is not real?
I´ve set the depreciation area as to post only depreciation but when try to assign accounts it does´nt let me
    the error says:
There is a separate maint. transaction for
    assgnmt in area 11
and then I click and I get the following answer:
Please maintain area 11 in FI-AA Customizing:
Under Investment Support if depreciation area 11 is an investment support area.
Under Reserves for Special Depreciation if area 11 manages special depreciation
But the derived area is not an Investment support nor a Reserves for Special Depreciation area.

  • COPA Derivation Rules are not assigning the correct values

COPA Derivation Rules are not assigning the correct values when we process billing documents in batch.  We currently have derivation rules defined to take the ship to country and refer to custom tables were we identify custom geographic groups (INT/DOM and EAM, AP, etc.).  The derivation rules work accurately when the billing documents are created individually, and more than 75% of them are accurate when generated in batch, but in some circumstances, it populates the derived values with the wrong field and we can not identify where or why that's happening.  It looks like it may have something to do when the ship to customer number account group is different, but that's not consistent..  Does anyone know how or where these values get populated, or have any ideas why incorrect values are appearing sporadically throughout the billing run?  Thanks!!!

    Leigh,
Apparently the function module is changing the values for some billing docs. Check one of the following user exits, if it gets triggered and the values are changed:
COPA0001  Enhancement for derivation in Profitability Analysis (CO-PA)
    Function Module: EXIT_SAPLKEDRCOPA_001
COPA0002  Enhancement for valuation in Profitability Analysis (CO-PA)
    Function Module: EXIT_SAPLKEAB_001
COPA0003  Enhancement for assignment to profitability segment (CO-PA)
    Function Module: EXIT_SAPLKEAK_001
COPA0005  Enhancement for actual data update (CO-PA)
    Function Module: EXIT_SAPLKEII_001
    Function Module: EXIT_SAPLKEII_002

  • ABZO Posting with T Type 100 By LSMW ( with Dep areas restriction)

    Hi Gurus
I have few hundreds of Assets that are created before the Activation of New dep Areas. Now i have to updated the Acquisition costs to those 10 and 11 Dep areas only. I am able to do the update the acquisition costs to Asset master by ABZO tcode with restricted T type 100 for 10 and 11 Dep areas manually But i have to do it by LSMW process with BAPI  method,  But ended up in the following error message.
Posting with transaction type 100 is not possible here, see long text
    Message no. AAPO177
    Diagnosis
Transaction type 100 has a depreciation area limitation, although posting is not mandatory in all of the depreciation areas entered. However, it is not possible to select depreciation areas in the current transaction.
    Procedure
Check the specifications for transaction type 100 or use transaction LSMW to enter the transaction.
Please guide me the procedure to fix this issue.

    ABZO - Tcode,
    100 - Transaction type
    Assets - Non AUC assets
Mistake is when i am recording the Session i haven't correctly determined the Depreciation areas. That lead me into error message.
I was able to do it successfully by Batch input recording method instead of BAPI.
    Thanks

  • Tax Conditions are flowing in PO irrespective of any tax code

    HI Experts,
I have maintained the condition Records for the Plant/vendor/Material combination for the Tax Code V1.
But , Even If i enter the Tax code V2 in PO by mistake , All the condition records are  flowing to PO.
How can it be controlled ? or Do we need to take Tax code as a access field?.
    With Regards
    S.Siva

SAP always gives priority to the detail level, during document creation it even if you are putting tax code if material/ plant/ vendor level condition exists, it will copy the material /plant/ vendor level conditions from condition records. This is standard functionality.
The condition records are created with key combination which in your case is material/ plant/ vendor, even if you are putting tax code inside the records with the above combination.
If you wnat to keep it at tax code level then select the key combination as taxcode/ country or tax classification.

  • Stop Depreciation for a specific Dep Area

    All
I am able to stop depreciation for a specific period. My requirement is to stop depreciation for a specific Depriciation Area -01. My client has 4 dep area's (01,02 & ..). Depriciation has stopped in both the depriciation areas (01&02). I had activated Asset shut down and increased the useful life only for Dep Area 01 & not Dep area 02. Both Dep Ar. 01 & 02 use the same Dep Key. Client requirement is Dep has to be stopped for a specific period and specific Dep Area(01). I had stopped dep for a specific period but this has stopped for both the dep area's (01&02)..
Is there a solution to the above. Please let me know if any.
    Regards
    Sekhar

Check by marking indicator D-Default value from company code and depreciation area in definition of depreciation key in AFAMA.
    Thanks and regards

  • Where can I find the equivalent tools in Photoshop that are in the develop module of Lightroom

    Friends:
Where can I find the equivalent tools in Photoshop that are in the develop module of Lightroom?  For example I would like to use the shadow, clarity, lens correction and such tools but cannot find them in Photoshop.
    Thanks amigos
    Migs

The obvious or not so obvious first. Depending on your knowledge. When you open a tiff, jpg, or camera' raw format they can be opened in Adobe Camera raw first which has identicle controls to lightroom's develop module.
Starting with I beleive CS5 maybe 4, some of the tools made their way into photoshop it self. Take a look at the camera lens filter, the Image>Adjustment menu or the adjustment layers which now support vibrance for example.
