Derived Flow (Money Market)

I have created a derived flow being 0.1% of the capital amount. The derived flow is oulling through into the generated cash flow but the calculated values is not pro-rata for the number of days.  I expected it to be 92/365 days.  In the condition it shows number of days as 92, number of base days as 365, int calc method as Act/365 but the calculation is for the full 0.1%. Can anyone advise on how to achieve the pro-rata calc?

Hi,
if you would have heard about the "basics of TRM" already (e.g. in training FSC-010), you might know, that the Derived Flows are necessary for e.g. calculating Withholding Tax Flows (based on Interest Flows).
The help-text button left-side from the customizing node is normally helpful, too.

  • How to post gain/loss on exchange rate from Money Market

    Dear Sap Expert,
I need your kindly help about posting gain/loss in Treasury with money market type.
My scenario use the product type 55A  - Interest rate instrument  and transaciton type = 200 borrowing in Foreign currency transaction as the transaction as belows,
Date                   Flow Type     Name                       Amouunt      currency     Exchange rate         Amt.Local currency
    19.10.2011         1105             Borrowing               10,000            USD               30.00                       300,000
    30.10.2011         1120             Final repayment       10,000            USD               30.00                      300,000
For the normally the system generate current exchange rate from the configuration .After that I try to change the Exchange rate manually in Flow type 1120 from 30.00 to be 31.00  then  the Amt.in Local currency changed to be 310,000 and the flow type gain/loss from exchange rate does not generate ( In Loan Management I can do it)
        On 19.10.2011 I use t-code TBB1 to post the borrowing transaction (1105)
On 30.10.2011 I use T-code TBB1 to post the Payment transaction but the gain/loss account does not happen.
For my question Can the system post  document for flow tpe 1120 (on 30.10.2011) with exchange rate realized gain/Loss automatically? or how should I do to make it correctly.
Thank you very much for your suggestion.

  • Generate Withholding tax on interest Money Market instrument

How can I automatically generate a flow for withholding tax on the interest of a money market instrument (55B)? Would the tax be posted on a different (from the counterparty) business partner (tax office) or just an open item on a GL account?

    Hi ,
As limitation with treasury module, we cant post direct to vendor Therefore you have to use derive flowfor generation of tds flow which can be post as a GL open item but this will not help you to run the With-holding tax cycle.
If you not required TDS challan, then above mention can help you but if you want to run complete TDS cycle then  firstly you have to post the Gross Interest in Interest Payable and then with the help of FB01 transfer the Gross Interest to Vendor, while passing this entry system will give pop-up of with-holding tax assign in vendor after chossing the right section , system will automatic pass accounting entry of TDS.

  • Update types - money market

    Hi Gurus,
I keep getting an error on the money market side with regard to flow type 1120(final repayment). To which kind of update type should this be assigned i.e. what update type and what usage should I apply to the update type.
    Regards

    Hi Victor,
Can you elaborate more on your error.  For the flow type 1120, you need to assign it to your custom update type.  Generally it will be like MM1120 + or - for SAP pre defined.  Also assign your flow type to transaction type.
Assign it to transaction Management usage.  Maintain correct Posting specifications and also G/L account.

  • Assignment of more than 1 Derived Flows in Business Partner Master

    Hello,
As per business logic, brokerage commission is required to be paid @ 1% and TDS on interest to be deducted @ 10 %
I have been able to define 2 derived flows - one for Brokerage Commission and another one for TDS deduction.
In the Business Partner Master Data screen - Company Code data - SI:Derived Flows, i was able to assign the Brokerage Calculation Procedure under 51A Fixed Deposits - 200 Borrowing. However, to the same Business Partner i am unable to assign the TDS procedure at the same place.
Is it possible to assign more than 1 Procedures in a Business Partner Master Data.
    Request your suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Murtuza.

    Hi,
For 1 business partner, for the same product type and transaction type you can define only 1 procedure in a company code.
But for your case instead of having 2 different procedures, have the rules for both the flows in the same procedure.  Anyway rules are specific for a flow type only.

  • Amortization in money market in Ehp3

As per IFRS requirment, we would like to do amortisation in money market. We understand that the same is available from Ehp 3. We have activated the relevnat business function. We would like to know what settings and steps needs to be done so that amortisation is done in money market.

    Hi Kalyan,
This create offer is supported for money market only for fixed deposits and for forex spot and forward. This is just to get an overview of all the bids. The direct contract creation from this is just a flexibility, and as pointed out by you, will be taken in entirety.
But then we always have TM02, to change the fixed term contract, to 5M in your business case. Only then the deal should be settled.
As pointed out, the validation message comes, of you have to create another partial contract from the same offer screen.
The idea of clubbing offers simply is to give an overview. I am glad, you have a customer using it.

  • Derived Flow block for posting in Product Type 55A

    Dear SAP Gurus,
Kindly request your input issues that I have.
Currently I'm maintaining a derived flow type on Product Type 55A (Interest Rate Instrument) and Product Type 56B (Syndicated Facility).
The derived flow were used to generate withholding tax flow type. The source flow is maintain manually as Other Flows.
The derived flow for both Product Type 55A and Product Type 56B were successfully generate. But on Product Type 55A the derived flow were block for posting, the reason is because the 'Previous Flow does not permit for posting'.
What confused me why this block is not happening on Product Type 56B, while I use the same flow type and how to UNBLOCK the flow type so its open for posting again.
    Thanks for the input before.
    Cheers,
    Tedi

    Hi,
In the configuration setup check your flowtype and see whether Calc with Capital Reduction checked. I believe by default SAP has this checked; uncheck it. When this option is checked, it doesn't allow you to make any modifications to the contract if a posting has already occurred. e.g. increasing or decreasing the nominal amount of the contract.
    Hope that helps.

  • Treasury&RiskMgmt-Transaction Manager- Money market

    Hello Colleague,
In the creation of  Money market - Fixed Term Deposit - investment , one select box for  Capitalize interest is present
What does this capitalize interest means?? why it is in the Money market?

    Hi,
It depends on country you are using.
if you check capitalize interest, interest would be added to your deposit account i.e. asset account.  Then it means that interest amount has also been added to the asset and hence we will not pay tax on interest amount.  This is generally done, when you invest back the money which you got from deposit including interest.  Then since you are investing, you won't pay tax for it i.e you are using the money.
If you have not checked the capitalize interest, then you will get the interest amount to your bank or cash and hence it is a revenue, thus you will have to pay tax for interest amount alone depeding on the amount and also the country.
P.S:  If the question is answered kindly close the question.
    Regards,

  • Automatic derivation of service tax (derived flow) flow during the posting of charges through FWBS in Security Module.

    Hi
Case: Automatic derivation of service tax (derived flow) flow during the posting of charges through FWBS in Security Module.
I am trying  to post the charges using Manual Posting FWBS but system not generating (automatically)  derived flow for the service tax flow on charges.
I have done below mentioned  steps for configuration:
Define the derivation procedure and Rules.
Assign the update type to the function of security account management.- Define update type fo manual posting.
    Kindly advise.
    Regards

    Hi,
The definition of "Define Derivation Procedures and Rules" for derived flows are only taken into account during transaction management, deriving one flow type from origin flow type. This customizing does not have effect for FWBS. You may check the below customizing:
    1) Transaction Manager > Securities > Master Data > Product Types > Define Company Code-Dependent Settings for the Product Type: mark the indicator "Generate taxes" in Settings for tax generation.
    2) Transaction Manager > Securities > Position Management  > Securities Account Management > Define Tax Rates.
Further you may consider the implementation of BAdI TPM_TAX_CALCULATION (please see note 1159408) to calculate the tax depending on your requirements. Note: the above BAdI is called only in the case the required settings are done in 'Define Tax Rates' in the Customizing.
    Best regards,

  • Undate derived flow (gain / loss ; FX3011/ FX3010)

    Dear SAP experts,
we are upgrading our System from 4.6 up to ECC6.0.
By upgrading the treasury-module we have set the "Control of processing of derived Business Transactions" to ONLINE.
    Here are the relevant flows:
FX1000+ for buy                           updatetyp = 1 Transaction management
FX2000- for sell                            updatetyp = 1 Transaction management
    FX3011/FX3010 for gain/loss.       updatetyp = 9001 derived business transaction
The advantage of the ONLINE-Mode is, that the derived flows should be updated automatically by the system. When I am creating a foreign Exchange contract in treasury with tx01 then the gain/loss will be created automatically. Up to here, everything is fine.
Now, If the exchange ratio is changed, the amounts of the Flows FX1000+ and FX2000- will be changed automatically by running the transaction TBB1. But the change of the gain&loss flows FX3011/FX3010 does not appear automatically.
    Can you help me?
    Many thanks.
    Kind regards
    Salih

  • Treasury Money Markets- Operative Valuation Area and Parallel Valuation Are

    Hello Folks
I have a problem I am trying to fix in Treasury Money Markets. The guys that created the fixed term deposits in Money markets did not create them in the Operative Valuation area. They created them in the Parallel Valuation area and went ahead to initialize it, they deleted the operative valuation area. Now the problem came in when new transactions were created. In the process of creation they asked for the operative Valuation area i.e. the new transactions being created. This was then created, but now the problem comes in settling and posting of the old transactions that have matured. These do not exist in the Operative Valuation area.
I can’t post anything using TBB1 for the old transactions that were created without the operative valuation area, the system dumps and from the analysis I can see that it’s the lack of the operative valuation area. For the new transactions being created, a payment request cannot be generated for transactions requiring one.
How can I make sure that the Transactions in the Parallel valuation area also exist in the operative valuation area? Has anyone ever had this problem? Any suggestions on how I can go about solving this problem?
    Regards
    Valentine

    Hi,
I assume the valuation area you are asking about is in transaction manager component only.  Technically all valuation areas are same in the sense that they have the same functionality.  But from a functional stand point, every valuation area is determined based on either different accounting principles or different valuation needs.  For e.g. one valuation area can be for your local GAAP while one can be for IFRS.  It all depends on the business requirements whether you need multiple valuation areas at all or you can use one itself.
By default 1 valuation area is required and hence 001 will be active and this will be your operative valuation area.  Any other valuation are you define will be parallel valuation area.  Now if you dont want other valuation areas, then you need not create them.  In your system, if you have been using 004 as for lets say IFRS and after upgrading you can configure 001 according to IFRS itself if you dont want VA according to any other GAAP.

  • Derived flow and empty derived procedure

in my fixed rate bond transaction, I have a few derived flow as attached, for example DBT_C002, it is a derived business flow, but in SPRO securities section, I can't find any flow type assigned to it, also in SPRO flow type/derived flows/define calculation procedure for derived flows, there is no procedure, so how 122.61 is calculated? thanks

    Hi,
'DBT_C002' is derived due to the applicable Position Management Procedure, see the folder 'Amortizations' (see an example in the screenshot attached) - check the Customising SPRO -> ... -> TRM -> Transaction Manager -> General Settings -> Accounting -> Derived Business Transactions -> Update Types -> Assign Update Types for Derived Business Transactions.
    Kind regards,
    Renatas
