Deriving GR Qty from batch characteristics - Object dependency

Dear friends,
Is it possible to derive GR Qty automatically based upon the characteristics mentioned in the batch at the time of Production declaration? Has somebody written object dependency regarding this?

Object dependency for batch characteristic

I have 1 class with multiple characteristics and 1 of the characteristics should be entered (mandatory) in case of a certain split valuation type (which is covered in the batch info). This should be done via object dependencies within the charateristic. Anyone knows how to do this?

As explaind to you in the earlier thread for product or proportion unit. you need not maintain object dependency for the characterestics. You have to maintain product unit which will appera as alternatvie UOM. While making GR the Alternate or product UOM will be seen as per the plan value(conversion factor) maintained in material master. You can change both Basic UOM and Alter UOM as per the actual caonversion recieved. This conversion factors will be saved in the batch classification.

We need to derive ZNUMPACK (Number of Packages) in plants depends batch

Hi Experts,
I have the code,it is nothing but a lookup on 0BATCH for quantity more lines greater than zero.I would like to derive it directly in the BEx Report. That is all we have to do is count the number of batch lines. We need to derive ZNUMPACK (Number of Packages) in plant depends upon batch. I tried it by using exceptional aggregation and tried in lot of ways. But I am not getting the solution.Please help me to solve this problem...

Thanks for your reply. In this scenario configurable material is involved. And first Make to Stock scenario is executed to check any material with customer entered characteristics are avialable. If its so it will determine its batch and assigned the quantity.
If zero quantity is assigned or no quantity is assigned then I have to trigger the Make to Order scenario for rest of unconfirmed quantities in order.
I have check it in USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBAP but it was of no use. I even tried in USEREXIT_CHECK_VBAP but still no result. I am not sure what all the tables and structures i need to populate there.

How to get the Purchase order Qty in the object dependency

Hi,
We are using variant pricing in the purchase order. I have condition type say u201CZVBPu201D for Pallet cost. I defined Pallet cost as 5 USD per each (pallet). I have to calculate Number of pallets = Purchase order Qty/ 5. The number of pallets should be rounded to nearest integer.
My question is how to get the Purchase order Qty in the object dependency?
Is there any reference table and field can be used to get Purchase order Qty just like we use MMCOM-VKOND for variant pricing.

1. I do not have system now so I can not conclusively tell about table field .
2. Since I did it long back so I also do not exactly remember it, there are more than one place where PO qty appears for example Item overview and Item details - one of the PO qty when used in the characteristic do pull the PO qty which can be used for variant pricing (so request to please update the forum with the correct table and field once you find it - in the meantime if I get opportunity to get to system I will also try and find out ).

Copy of Batch characteristics value from material master to Batch

I have maintained some values in the characteristics under batch classification in material master and want to copy the values in batch characteristics during batch creation at process order release.
Can any one help me to achieve this in standard way?

Hi,
Try to understand the batch classification functionality...In batch classification characteristic values changes from batch to batch...Values should not be maintained in the material master...it does not have any meaning...in the material master we need to assign only the batch class with class type 023 in classification view ...no need to assign the values there....Batch classification means characteristics values differs from batch to batch...

Mass Upload of object dependency for characteristics value

Hi ,
I need to upload the object dependency for characteristics values through transaction CT04. My input data consists of characteristcs name , characteristics value and the object dependency (KNNAM) . Need to populate the KNNAM field alone .
Have tried with the FM 'CTMV_CHARACT_CHANGE_KNOWL_VAL' which suits my requirement but teh dependencies are not getting uploaded . Am I missing anything ? Since I do not have class details i.e class num and class type I am not able to use the BAPI like 'BAPI_CLASS_CHARVALUE_LOCAL_DEP ' . Please suggest any othe r suitable method .

Copying Batch Characteristics Value from Standard SAP Table Field

Dear Experts,
1. While creating a user-defined Batch Characteristics 'CREATED_BY' using ct04, on the Additional Data tab, I filled the following fields as follows: Table Name = MCHA, Field Name =ERNAM.
'CREATED_BY' was then assigned to a batch Class TRIMMED (of class type 022).
TRIMMED was assigned to a batch managed material ADE245DD.
After posting co15 (confirmation of production order) for material ADE245DD, the value in table MCHA & field ERNAM is automatically copied into the Batch Characteristics value field of u2018CREATED_BYu2019 for the generated batch.
2. But I am unable to achieve the same result when I create another Batch Characteristic with similar settings in the Additional Data tab as follows: Table Name = MARC, Field Name = DISPO.
After doing co15, the value stored in table MARC and field DISPO does not get copied into the Batch Characteristics value.
Please what do I need to do in Scenario 2 above to achieve the same result as in Scenario1?

Table and field used in additional data table should be related to the object than only it will work, for e.g. MCHA and ERDAT will work if you create a characteristcis and assign it to class type Batch (022/023) because MCHA table has Batch no. as primary key,
this implies for using material specific table e.g. MARA , you should use characteristics with class type 001 (Material class) , try using with table MARC also

Hi Sandeep,
This can be achieved by Use of Batch Derivation Functionality.
Go to t.code DVSP and activate Batch Derivation.
Now ,First Create Sander Condition by usng T.code DVS1,
Assign Material type (Halb) and assign required characteristic for which you want to transfer Batch value to Fert Code.
Then create recipient condition by T.code DVR1.
Assign material Type Fert to it and Characteristic which you have assign in T.code DVS1.
This will work during Production Order or Process Order release.
And for this you have do Batch Determination for Halb in Order itself

Getting Batch from Packaging material Number (Batch characteristics)

Hi Gurus,
I've a requirement.
i want to know the batches where the packaging material is used.
Packaging material is one of the batch characteristics, if i assign the same packaging material number in one batch, that should not be assigned to another batch.
I want to know in which batches the same packaging material is assigned.
Please guide me?? which table has the links for batch, packaging material number and main material number???

In MMCL we have a FM to get the Data.

Tranfering data from MIGO to Batch Characteristics

Please let me know the procedure to tranfer the MIGO Field values to Batch Characteristics. Example Manufacturer name maintained manually in BADI field is required to tranfer to Batch Characteristics.

Syntax Error in Object Dependancy in Class

Hi All,
We are working out bacth specific unit opf measurement in steel industry.
The base unit of measure in Tonne. The batch specific UOM is Pieces.
We want system to calculate the batch speific UOM from the production order quantity which is tonnes.
For this we have defined following charactsristics in class which is assigned to materilals,
1. PIECES- Number of pieces in batch
2. SECTIONWEIGHT- This is the fixed value for every material the unit is KG/M i.e. Kilogarm per meter
3. Z_LENGTH- Length of the material which is order specific
4. WEIGHT- Batch weight which is nothing but the production order quantity in Tonnes.
We are defining the following formula to calculate the number of pieces in object dependancy in 'Procedure',
$SELF.'PIECES'=$SELF.'WEIGHT'1000$SELF.'Z_LENGTH'/$SELF.'SECTIONWEIGHT'.
While consistency check that is whether the formula is correct or not, system throwing me an error, 'Syntax error in simple action/procedure'
Kindly help to resolve this and also give input to handle the above scenario.

Let me explain you the scenario in details.
Client manufactures stell angle.
The base UOM is Tonnes.
It is having following dimensions,
Width, Thikness, height, Length.
We have created material codes with the combination of width, thikness & height.
Length would be part of classification as one of the characteristics.
Beside length the other characteristics are PIECES, Z_LENGTH & SECTIONWEIGHT.
My requirement is whenever the production order is created for specific quantity, say 5 tonnes, the pieces should be calculated automatically in the batch classification.
Also after GR when the batch comes into stock, it should get updated if the batch quantity in tonnes changes throughout the logistics chain.
How to incorporate this as it is hampering the process a lot.
I feel you could help me to solve this.

BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE_KEY AND OBJECT DEPENDENCY

We use BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE_KEY in a class type 023 with object dependency.
When we try to modify the characteristic which produces a new valuation in an other characteristic from the same object (material and batch) problems occurs. The system displays message C1821 or C1842 in certain circumstances.

Hey Chris,
You cannot use the BAPI for class type 001, This BAPI can only be used with class types which have multiple objects enabled.
For changing the characteristics of material try using BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE.
Here the key of the object will be your material number

Change of activity type of operation overview through object dependency

Hi,
I am working on variant configuration project and I am using the global object dependencies (procedures) to change the BOM item quantities, Operation standatd values and activity types in super bom and super routings. When I use these dependencies BOM quantities and routing standard values are changed but activity types are not updated.
If anybody have any idea about this, how to use the dependency to update the activity type? or any prgram error / any OSS note for this?

Hi Venkat,
As you may be having idea of usage of reference characteristics usage in changing the fields because you are already told that you are able to change the Qty field, same like this you need to have the reference char relevant to this field and table .
Now the activity type comes from the work center. so you need to change actvity type in work center or you have to change the workcenter ( expected workcenter should have your required activity type) by the object dependency. It's looking a bit thoghtful one. Just think in your functionality it will work.

MIGO : Error when copying batch characteristics

Hi,
I've some problem on MIGO Tcode when i want to copy the batch characteristics.
I work with class type 022.
I create a GR from PO. (movement 101). My item line contained sub-items (with BOM). So i would like to copy the batch characteristics in reference of component batch values.
I've implemented the UE "EXIT_SAPMM07M_004".
Case 1 : In this UE, i fill a standard internal table (named VALUES) with the characteristics names and values i want to resume.
and i use the FM 'CLFM_OBJECT_CLASSIFICATION' with the father and the son batch information in UE, i go to MSC3n and all characteristics are copied (even those unwanted). But when i go to MCS2N, i retrieve the expected values.
Case 2 : Only use the internal table, but some characteristics are not maintained.
Case 3 : Only use the FM, but no characteristics are reversed.
Does anyone could help me ?
