Description Column of specific RFC Import Object empty

Hi all,
I wonder if there is a way to display the fields descriptions of specific RFC Import Object in SAP XI.
When the RFC object is imported, even if in the source SAP system the fields descriptions are filled they are not displayed in SAP XI, at least in my SAP PI 7.0 SP9 version.
Is it a standard behaviour? Is there a way to display it in SAP XI?
Thanks a lot for your answers.
Richard

Haven't seen any option to impost the Description as well. In my opinion, not possible

  • After Transporting the request RFC Destination is empty in SWCV and BEA

    Hi All,
we are using SAP NW Mobile 7.1 SP08
After transporting the SWCV & Backend adapter, in the transported system the RFC Destination is empty
Please help me to fix this issue.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Joseph Beevin.

    Hi,
When an SWCV is trnasported to a another system, the backend destination will be empty in the target system.,We need to configure the bakcned destination in the target sytem through the DOE Adimin.
    DOE_ADmin Portal -->Configuration --->Backend Configuration.
In the backend configuration, select the SWCV for which the destination needs to be configured.Select the parameter "RFC  DESTINATION FOR BACKEND"
When the SWCV is selected all the active Data Objects will be listed in the table below
Insert the above parameter to the parameter list(the table below)
Give the name of the availlable backemnd destination name in the "text value" column of the table for each data object and save it.
Now the backend destination is configured correctly in the target system. Please try this..

  • Creating message type in XI with imported objects

    Hi,
I have imported an Idoc Structure into XI.
Now I need to create a message type with structure from imported Idoc + some additional fields.
Can some one tell me how to go about this. Because once I drag and drop the imported Idoc structure, I doesn't allow me to add any more fields during message type creation.
Is there a different to way to achieve this.
    Best Regards,
    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,
the Integration Builder supports two ways of modelling an interface. The first way is to build the required datatypes from scratch (with the datatype editor) then define (fault) message types using these datatypes and finally define the message interface.
The second way is to use an externally defined structure by importing an IDoc or RFC from an R/3 or an external DTD/XSD/WSDL from filesystem. Then define your Message Interface using the messages from the imported objects.
Currently there is nearly no support for mixing these two approaches as you have in mind (taking an externally defined structure as starting point, then enhance this structure within the Integration Builder).
The best workaround I can suggest to you, is import the IDoc, take the XSD which is displayed for it, download it to your local file system, edit it there (with notepad when you are an XSD expert, with some other tool like XML Spy otherwise) and upload the modified file as External Definition.
BTW: For this procedure you do not necessarily need to upload the IDoc to the Repository. As far as I know the R/3 also offers the possibility to generate an XSD representation for an IDoc (do not remember the exact way to go there).
    Greetings Stephan

  • Imported Objects possible for third party SWC

    Hello,
I have come across a scenario where SWC which is installed on third party system and need imported objects from SAP.
Can i do it or not. i am bit confused.
My third party SWC needs a RFC because i have to create interface to expose as web service.
    Thanks,
    Srenivas

    HI,
Yes you can do this with temporary manipulation as below,
For SCV on main page, just change it to RFC and give the SAP landscape details as client and id etc.
Then import the object that you needed from SAP and then uncheck the checbox to RFC and make it as Third Party.
This will allow you ti rgister the matadata of imported objects and then can be able to use it scenarios without any problem.
    Thanks

  • IDOC,RFC import

what is the procedure or steps involved to import idoc, rfc from SAP R/3 to XI.
    Thanks

    Hi Sud,
You are right about the imported objects options available in IR.  But for you to import any IDOC or RFC, the first thing that you need to make sure is that your Software Component Version has the rights to import IDOC from different servers. So you need to first enable the option and then you can import by going to import IDOC's and RFC's.
First you should make sure where ur idocs and rfcs are available and their logon credentials..once you give them all the idocs and rfcs will be displayed...just select the once you require and click on import...you need to save and activate them for them to come into action

    As expected...
    Isn't that message self-explanatory?
You're updating a child record, and if you're updating the cild_table.parent_id then that parent_id has to exist in the parent_table.

  • Import Object

    Hello,
Does anyone know how do I work with Import Object in Siebel 7.5? Another question is how can I debug and see what fails?
I am trying to import service requests data from a csv, comma delimited file. I defined an import object over the SR business component, the import fields (target BC fields to import) and import source with field map and columns (mapping the source to the BC fields I selected).
Yet, the import fails repeatedly and in the log I see failures for almost every field I try to import.
Please note that we work in Hebrew and the display names in the applet are in Hebrew. Should I declare display names in my import object, despite the fact that the data is mapped directly to the fields of the business component? Should I use locales in my import object?
    Thank you in advance,
    Yossi Lempert.

I know of no list. If you ask Oracle/Siebel about this they will probable not even call them bugs but know limitations.
You got the 2 most important ones from the back of my head.
If you still getting errors and having issues give us the error msg you get and maybe something more
comes to my mind. We currently have it working on a 8.0.0.6 implementation and it has been working since
we where on 7.7.2.6 at least.

    How we can use RFC?
Import RFC in ESR/IR under IMPORTED OBJECTS that exist under software component in your ESR.
While importing RFC,you have to give system details from where you will import RFC in PI.

  • Importing Objects from SAP

    Hi All,
I'm trying to import RFC objects from SAP Server. However upon trying to import the objects the SAP System is tied to ECD system. The object I'm trying to import is located at PID. How do I change the SAP System so that I can import the object from PID?
    Thanks
    John

Did you check the note shared by Mark? Just double click on the software component version.
    Actions in the PI ESR
Call transaction sxmb_ifr and logon to the ESR.
Open the Software Component Version (SWCV) that you wish to import the IDoc/RFC into
Enter the connection details of the SAP R/3 backend system (SID, Client and Server name)
Go to the Imported Objects subnode for this SWCV and right click
    Select Import of SAP Objects
Enter the Logon details of the SAP backend R/3 system
Expand the IDoc/RFC node and select the IDoc/RFC you wish to import (you can also use the search function)
    Execute the import

I have a task assigned to me where i have to write a program to get all the reports and their variants( variants without space and non obselete variants)
When i am trying to access the variant SDCAS_ADRSEL , I am getting a dump "Error when importing object P_lis ". It has got only one variant JOJO1 in the vari table  . Please help me out with this.

    Hi Aditya,
You might need to provide a few more details on the dump.
    I.e.
Exact details of the error that occured.
    Where the error occurred
You can grab these out of the dump in ST22. That should help people out, to help understand what you are doing, as it's not really clear from your current description.

  • Error when attempting to IMPORT object "TS_CHECK".

    Short text
Error when attempting to IMPORT object "TS_CHECK".
    What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "SAPLSTD4" had to be terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
    Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_IMPORT_MISMATCH_ERROR', was
    not caught in
procedure "DB02_ORA_FILL_TS_CHECK__CRITOB" "(FUNCTION)", nor was it propagated
    by a RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
When importing the object "TS_CHECK", the component no. 4 in the
dataset has a different type from the corresponding component
of the target object in the program "SAPLSTD4".
The data type is "I" in the dataset, but "N" in the program.

Received the solution from SAP Active Global Support:
This error occurs due a corruption in the table MONI.
For solving this issue you need to clean the records of this table via the following path :
    1. Call transaction ST03
    2. With GOTO -> Performance database -> Content of database
    3. Push button Delete data group
    4. Enter ID DB
    5. Continue
    6. Confirm the delete
If you wish to backup the data before deleting the entry please follow the steps in the note 1000275 "DB02: history data backup procedure".

Have you checked the GUID in SLD in both the systems?
<b>SLD-->Software Components, to check the GUID.</b>
You can do one thing, first of delete imported objects which are not getting activated from QA, also delete the SWCV from Integration Repository.
<b>Note:</b> Before deleting SWCV, make sure any other working objects are not there in the same SWCV.
Now, if <b>SWCV & GUID</b> in both systems are <b>same</b> then again:
    1. Export the objects from Dev (.tpz file)
    2. Imort the same .tpz file to QA system.
Now go to Repository of QA and
    1. <b>Tools --> Import Design Objects</b>
    2. <b>Tools --> Transfer from system landscape Directory --> Update Application Components.</b>
Select your components and press Finish button.
And finally try to Acitvate your objects.
