Description for Formula Values in Structure

Hello All,
I want to change the description of the formula values in my Structure (i want to add the Month that is used in the formula to the description so that the description becomes more dynamic). Can any one of you please suggest a way. This is required quickly so please respond ASAP and ALSO LET ME KNOW HOW TO REWARD POINTS I WILL DO IT AS SOON AS I GET MY ANSWER.

To use a text variable on 0CALMONTH, 0CALMONTH need not be in Fomula as you mentioned.
as you said,you have variable on 0CALMONTH and you wanted to see entered 0CALMONTH value in formulas.Right?
From the context menu of formula>Edit->click on 'Select text variables'->a window will pop up which shows all existing text variables->(you can use any existing text variable of 0CALMANTH,ok..for time being we will go with new text variable) go to starting point of the text variables window>double cilck on "New" node->provide Tech name and description for text variables and select 'processing by' as 'Replacement path'->next->select Characterstic ' 0CALMONTH'->next->select 'replace variable' with "KEY" or "TEXT">next>Finish.
Use this Text variable in your formulas.
Pl dont foget to assign points if it helps.

If i'm understanding it right, you want to show the values instead of the id, which is very usefull. If that is the case, try this website:

Description for field value

Hi All,
I have created a screen field with F4 help.
If i select an entry from the F4 list i need the description to be displayed in next to the field. How can we do this.

You need to define one field for descripion...
Then You must fire query which takes out description and fill that description into that field....
Like For example :
i want vendor's descritpion.....
so
select single name1 from lfa1
into v-1
where lifnr = v-2.
where v-1 is varible which going to store ur descrioption
and v-2 is variable which has already store value which u r going to use....
(Here v-2 is LIFNR - vendor's name)

Description for value help field for custom infotype field

Hi,
I`ve got to include a field in custom infotype. This field has got a value help attached to it. The values to be displayed in the value help are stored in the domain of the field(in the dictionary).
The requirement is that once I select a value from the F4 help, the description for that value should be fetched and be dispalyed on the screen.
I`m using the FM "AM_READ_TEXT_ON_DOMAIN_VALUE" to read the description from the domain ,but unable to make it display it on the screen.
Can anyone suggest me as what should I do for displaying the description in the custom infotype screen.

While using the "GET_DOMAIN_VALUES", I do get all the values from the domain. But I want only description to be displayed when I select a Value for that field.Kindly help out..

1-Individual
2-Family
Then the description should be displayed as Family when I select the value 2 from the value help.

No drilldown option for Formulas in structure

Hi Experts, Could you throw some light on the following issue.
My char structure is as follows,I have a grouping done on GL and when i drill down I shd see the GL only for selections and not for formula i.e. the formula should not drilldown and show GL's.see the below example.
Example,
A - SALES(GL grouping)
B - TAX &DUTIES(GL grouping)
C - Formula (SALES + TAX & DUTIES)
For summarised report ,the above display is OK but when I drilldown and see GL level data,is there anyway to supress and make the formula as static(no drilldown for formula).
Kindly guide me if there is any way out .

I think you only want to see the values for key figures A, B and C in the result rows and not in the details when you have a drilldown on GL, am I right?
What you could do, is create a new calculated key figure to determine the number of GL's. You could use a formula variable with replacement path for constant 1 on GL, or created a a copy of key figure A with aggregation level GL and counting all values <> 0.
Once you have a column with the number of GLs, create a formula like ( number of GLs > 1 ) * key figure A. This way, only the result rows will show values.

Sure. I have a new formula for a condition value which checks a lot of things to calculate the condition value. The result can also be zero. In all other cases than zero, I want to set an additional flag on the position to show that the condition is used. For this I choosed the material group 4. Now I have to modify the materialgroup 4 MVGR4 in the formula, if I change komp-mvgr4 is does not save the changes...

This problem is side effect of issue 193 (https://glassfish.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=193) and is described in details in issue 634 (https://glassfish.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=634). Default multiple values for formula variable on variable selection screen

Hi All,
Suppose 'A' is formula variable with customer exit as processing type then i want four default values for this variable eg: 3, 6,9, and 12 as selection options, when we will execute query user can able to pick any one of the default value.
is it possible in BEx for formula variables?
I also tried with ABAP code in 'cmod' t-code, but it is not working properly for 4 default values....but for single default value, code is working fine.

Missing description for FI standard values (ie posting key 40)

I'm deploying the SAP ECC6 Financials solution in French and I'm facing a very strange issue. The standard descriptions for some very classical SAP values are missing in my language (French). For instance, the french description is blank for all the standard posting keys (eg posting key 40 with text "blank"), for all the SAP standard Account groups (eg SAKO), for all the valuation classes, etc. When I connect in english, everything is OK with standard english text. I have the same problem with CO. The French text in other modules (SD, MM) seem ok.
Two questions hence:
- is it an SAP installation problem or a FI customizing issue ?
- there is already some customizing in this environment using those values. What would be the impact of reactivating the texts in french ?

Conditional value for formulas

Hello everyone, I have a table for income values, and I have been able to create a Sum field to calculate the total income, but I would want to create a condition to only include values in rows that are checked with a checkbox. Maybe it's easier to show you an image of the table:
So, what I would like is to have the cell in red to be a sum of the cells in the column "Valor Recebido" but, only if they are checked in the column "Recibo". Is that possible?

When I first open your file I see the error message and the formula displays as text rather than as a formula. If I click the green check the error message goes away and the formula works.
I think a regional syntax is to blame. When you examine a formula that does work (say in another table) what separates the arguments? "," or something else?
I want to suggest again you recreate the formula by first choosing the formula in the sidebar, then with the first argument selected click your column E with your second argument selected click TRUE in the sidebar (under "logical and info"), with the third argument selected click column D. click the green check. If this works would you paste the text version of your formula here- I would like to see how it turned out.

Case structure for comparing values

Hi,
i just wanted to know if there is a special way to use comparison in case structures.
I only kow how to create cases for things like if x=0 then ... if x=1 then ...
Now I want to make it if x<0 then ... if x=0 then ... if x>0 then ...
The only solution I found so far is creating a case structure inside a case structure.
Is there a way to keep it all in just one case structure?

Case Structures are pretty flexible in how you can specify what triggers a particular case. You can specify ranges or various values per case.
In your situation, if you specify three cases with the following values, you'll get what you want.
'..-1' = x<0
'0' = 0
'1..' = x>0
The two periods before or after a number indicate that the case should run if the value is anything less than or greater than the specified number, depending on which side of the number you place it. You can also use this to specify a range of number. '1..10' would trigger the case for any value 1 through 10. Using a comma between numbers lets you specify different non-sequencial numbers. '1,5,10' would run the case only those specified numbers.

lso work with text based Case Structures.

G/L Description not showing in Query designer for Characteristic values

Hi Friends,
We have developed a report and that we have made two New selections on the object 0GL_account....some GL Account number are grouped in that. While selecting the GL Accounts to new selection, it is showing GL Account number and Description. After that, the selected objects are not showing the Description in the query designer. It is showing GL Account number only for the both Technical name and Description. I Would like to see Description of the GL Accounts in the Query designer. i have plan to delete certain account based on their dercription.
And at the Infoobject description in the Business Explorer tab Display feild it is set as Text and Key. And till yesteday it shown the Description for the Account numbers. The daa loads are also .gone fine.
Can you please guide me in this regards

The accounts which we selected are having Description and it is showing while selection the selected GL Accounts.
And the master data also is in active...When i try to activate the master data Agoin it is saying statement "Master data for characteristic 0GL_ACCOUNTactive"

Saving formula results in structures

Hi,
i built a structure to input values of a "profit and loss"-statement. The turnover, for example, is shown as a sum of three accounts:
account        description
10000          Turnover 1
11000          Turnover 2
12000          Turnover 3
13000          Total Turnover (formula: account 10000 + account 11000 + account 12000)
If i open the planning-query it is possible to input values for the first three accounts and the sum in the "Total"-account is calculated.
After saving these values i tried to get just the value of the "Total"-account (13000), but got no result.
? is it possible to save the result of a formula in a cube ?

You have to have something to save the value against in the cube - i.e. with your example of a formula in a structure the system would not understand which account to save the data against.
I suppose the question is, why do you need a total? If just for reporting then you can achieve via a structure, formula or a hierarchy at runtime. Alternatively you can utilise excel's native functionality to present the calculations in a workbook and utilise 7.0's new cell referencing capabilities (=bexgetdata)
If you need the calculated value for some other purpose - e.g. you need to reference the value in a FOX formula to calculate a different value or you need to report the sum into another cube for aggregated calculations (e.g. BS / CF etc.) then you can do this by, for example, using the filters or summing within the FOX.
However, if you must have the total in the cube then create an account in the database to reflect the total, put it an input query and then either use a hierarchy with the new postable nodes functionality or a fox formula to calculate or use =bexsetdata to reference the cell you wish to save into the database
=BExSetData(cell where value is, "DATA_PROVIDER_X", column names, row names).
