Description of each thumbnail displayed beneath it?

Can the pictures name be displayed beneath each thumbnail in PSE 11 instead of having to find it listed under the information tab?
Am I correct in assuming that the length of an description is restricted to much less that than Windows usually allows & is there any way to overcome this?

The menu 'Display' lets you show the files names and / or the date taken... if the thumbnails are large enough. Play with the dimension slider to find at which size the details become visible.

I don't know exactly what is the limitation for file names length in Windows, but I think what you want is to be free to have a long description. Instead of renaming files, you could simply assign a caption.
It's not a solution for showing the captions under the thumbnails, but is very powerful for searches in the text search on the upper right of the display, or as one of the search conditions in the Find menu.
If you use the full screen view (F11 shortcut), the caption can be displayed or hidden. Unfortunately, you can't change the font and position of the caption.

I have albums in my iMAC with description for each photo that I can show up on slide show so that I know the place that is in the photo. If I synchronize my photos to iPOD, I am unable to get the Descriptions also copied. How do I ensure this?

I have two questions:
1) I have multiple logins in my iMAC. How do I move photos/albums from one login to another?
2) I have created albums with "Description" for each photos, so that, in a slide show, any one can see what is being shown on the photo. When I sync albums to my iPOD, the "Descriptions" are not getting copied. How do I ensure that the "Descriptions" also get copied so that it can be a real back-up?

Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto thumbnails - this may take several tries

Video Playlist with description for each video

Hi all,
I'm trying to create a page for one of my clients where I will store a bunch of videos. I came up with something like this.

You click on each button and you watch different videos. Pretty simple! Now my challenge is this:
I would like to display different descriptions for each video whenever the viewer clicks on one of the buttons with the video names. If anybody could give me any clues about this I'd really appreciate it.

Viewing filenames UNDER each thumbnail photo

Does anyone know how do display the filename UNDER each thumbnail in the Elements 12 Organizer and NOT just on the right side of the screen? I see the date and rating under each thumbnail, but not the filename.

Click on the View menu (see image below) and make sure File Names is checked.
You may need to move the zoom slider slightly to the right to increase the thumbnail size if you can't immeduately see all of the information displayed.

I would also recommend to write the description into the meta data. This would allow to place a text frame above the image and it is possible to add meta information and file name automatically together with the image, when you place it or even in a prepared template.
Meta data information can be written easily in Bridge in the Meta File Workspace.

IPhoto - Hidden Photos - Events Thumbnail Display Bug

iPhoto 08 contains a bug affecting the display of images that the user has marked as "hidden." Specifically, when the user toggles the View-Hidden Photos menu option, the Library-Events thumbnail view does not refresh quickly or reliably to show or hide Events containing "hidden photos."
Sometimes all "hidden" photos remain visible when they should be hidden.
Sometimes all "hidden" photos remain INvisible when they should be visible.
This affects the Event thumbnail "key photo" if this photo was designated as hidden.
This also affects any hidden Event photos when the user "skims" over an Event thumbnail to preview its contents.
The issue is isolated to Events thumbnails. The problem does not exist:
a) while browsing thumbnails inside a specific Event.
b) while browsing photos in Library-Photos.
c) while browsing photos in an Album.
_*"Fixes" that do NOT work:*_
Software updates... I have the latest version of OSX 10.5.2 and the latest version of iPhoto 08, including all the recent security and graphics system updates as of 02/16/2008.
Maintenance... The issue is NOT resolved by rebuilding the database, rebuilding icons, or deleting the iPhoto preferences file. The issue can be reproduced in a separate user account after creating a new event in an otherwise empty iPhoto database.
After much tinkering around, the following is the closest I've come to a
_*TEMPORARY WORKAROUND:*_
To *NOT DISPLAY* hidden images, go to the View menu and make sure Hidden Photos *is not* checked. Restart iPhoto, and the hidden images should now be invisible.
To DISPLAY hidden images, go to the View menu and make sure Hidden Photos is checked. While the hidden images are now visible elsewhere, they may still be invisible in Events thumbnails, so restart iPhoto, and then wait about 10 seconds for the Events view to refresh with all the hidden thumbnail images now visible.
If after carefully reading this you feel you have a definitive solution, please post a reply with your suggestions. Otherwise, please post to confirm if you can reproduce the problem on your computer running iPhoto 08 on Leopard. If so, please also file an official bug report with Apple. The more people report this, the faster we'll get it fix.

My Acrobat Pro 9 has also this bug. I am using XP SP2. I have reported this bug at Adobe web site many times. I wrote to the Adobe customer care. I wrote about this on many different forums and I was hopping an update with this bug fixed. I installed all updates till now bu the problem still exists. I do not know why Adobe is not caring about this stupid bug. It is really, really annoying. In my experience with Adobe Acrobat for about 10 years, Acrobat version 9 is the worst version I ever worked with. There are a lot of glitches and bugs in it, expecially with fonts, web version creation, password protection encryption etc etc.
If you find any fix please post back on this forum.

Does you friend use any accented letters in the descriptions? That might cause it but I don't know for sure.
Has he run any repair operations on his library, i.e. repairing the database file? Another possible fixe that's easy to apply is the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache folder(s):
Home/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
and, if there is one, the
Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For Mavericks, 10.9, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
The demo version of GraphicConverter can be used to view/check/edit the ITPC fields in an image file after exporting.

Timeline Thumbnail Display Issue

On the timeline, all thumbnail display is letterboxed. It shows a black bar on top and bottom. It doesn't affect the preview window. But with the letterboxing occupying extra space vertically, the thumbnail image is very difficult to read.
When I select Sequence, Sequence Settings, click OK, then the thumbnail will become normal again. However, if I close the sequence and reopen it, it goes back with the black letterbox in thumbnail.

Interesting. I have not seen that myself. What is the pixel aspect ratio (PAR) of your clip and what is the PAR of the sequence?

How are you running this program? Is there a top level vi which calls the ones you posted? The Display image on screen.vi will display two images in succession, but according to the note on the block diagram the second image is blank. It seems as though this would intentionally create a flicker.
The sequence structure is unnecessary. Dataflow will determine the order of execution. The only exception is the time delay in the third frame. Since it has no data dependency, a single frame sequence may be useful to assure that the delay occurs before the picture is updated. A simple state machine might be a more versatile architecture for what you may be trying to do.
It is not necessary to write the FR.PanelBounds property immediately after reading it, nor is it necessary to read it a second time in the second frame. Just wire from the first read.

Add Description on each port

Hi,
Though it might sounds stupid but I am wondering if there is anyway to dynamically add description of each port.
What I am trying to achieve is port 1 of Switch A is connected to Port 2 of Switch B.
I want to add description on port 1 of Switch A to provide the information of destination device like IP of the destination device or MAC address or name of the device (end device could be cisco switch or server).
I know how to hard quote the description of each port but the problem is down the raw if someone change the up link port on switch B from port 2 to port 3 than description on port 2 would be invalid.
So I am looking for a way to get the Switch B (destination device) information(IP/MAC/ hostname/ etc) and plug it into description of port 1 of Switch A.
I am hoping there must be a way of doing this.
I need your help and expertise.

Just to see what can be done, I added the following text to my uplink port (port 10) on my SG300-10P ( ordering p/n SRW2008P-K9-NA)
"uplink to my UC520 [2001:1:1:1::300]"
As you may or may not see from the screen shot below, I am managing my SG300 switch via a IPv6 or a IPv4 IP address and added that information to the port description.
The text came up when I clicked on switch port 10.

Help I can't get my images and description from recordset to display in repeat region table

Hi everyone,
could somebody please help me, this is my first php and mysql website, I have a web page that is supposed to display a table with 2 rows 3 columns.
In each column i want an image, a description and a paypal button.
then i have a repeat region placed around the second row which should display 3 records at a time.
The recordset worked when I tested it several times, and the paypal button displays in the browser, but the image and the description won't display and the repeat region doesn't work either as only one button paypal button displays.
I have uploaded the actual page, in the hope that some could take a look and help me to find out what the problem is.

In the second row, did you mean you want the three fields to display, not three records? A record is one row of data.
Start by getting a single row to display, and leave the paypal button out for now. So that means you will see the first record in your recordset, the image and description. To view the description, use the data bindings panel, expand the recordset and drag the description field onto the page in the table. For the image, insert and image placeholder and point the source to a dynamic data source. Again, choose the approprate field from your recordset.
Once that record is working, add your repeat region and test.
For the Paypal button, I am not sure if each button will carry the correct information with it in a repeat region. There has to be a way to dynamicall add the approprate data to the paypal link for each record. You may want to also incude checkboxes or radio buttons and have only 1 paypal button - but that introduces other issues which we can tackle later.

Dynamic task description in sap inbox displaying carriage returns as an * ?

Hi All,
I have a method in my business object whereby I dynamically create the description of the task for the sap inbox, ie. the description the user sees for the task in their sap inbox .
At first I built this description into an internal table of type tline.   I would have thought that each row of the table would begin on a new line but this did not happen. The rows ran into each other but were seperated by a semi colon.
Then I included a carriage return (cl_abap_char_utilities=>cr_lf) at the end of each row. This had the same output but instead of the semi colon, it output an asteriks.
Then I concatenated all the output into a string and passed this to a FM which splits the string at the carriage return and outputs the table. While this behaved as I wanted in a test program (i.e. new line for each row) , once I put the code in the business object, all the rows ran into each other again..
So is anyone aware of a way in which you can dynamcially build the task description and maintain the formatting you require?
I'd be very grateful if anyone could shed any light as I've been trying to get this going for a day and a half now and I'm about ready to give up!!

I had same requirement of displaying mutiple lines of workitem description. I used the following method for achieving my functionality.
Suppose multilineline text to displayed in the workitem description is:-
Line 1-> This is the the test text method to display description in the user defined format
Line 2-> which i want to show on my workitem to person approving the workitem.
Line 3-> Hello ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,how are u .............................................test test hello test.
1> I stored the data in an internal table which has one field of type c length 200.
2> I appened the data line by line into the table so that data is not overlapped and my format is maintained.
i.e Data : t_text   type table of ty_text,
               w_text type ty_text.
w_text-line = Line1.
appen w_text to t_text.
clear w_text.
w_text-line = Line2.
appen w_text to t_text.
clear w_text.
w_text-line = Line3.
appen w_text to t_text.
clear w_text.
3> The internal table T_TEXT will have three lines of data.
4> Now pass this table as it is on the workitem Description.It will display text as per ur format on the workitem description dynamically
