Descriptions field in TV shows

Forgive me if there is a current answer to this problem in existence and my poor searching skills didn't uncover it but, here goes:
I am backing up my Smallville episodes and when I do so, I am putting episode descriptions in the description field. When I sync with my apple tv, some appear, some do not and I was wondering if perhaps there is a length limit or specific format I should be using to enable all of them to be shown. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, not the end of the world, but more than any other manufacturer in the market, I trust Apple to do the right thing. And if something is supposed to work a certain way and it doesn't, then that is bad business, regardless of how insignificant it seems. My love for Apple and Volkswagen stem from their excellent attention to detail.

Possible to edit description field for TV Shows and Movies?

When I buy a movie or TV show from the iTunes Store, a description appears in the aptly titled Description field. Is it possible to add descriptions for movies and TV shows that I add to iTunes through other sources? I don't see any place to add that information.

'Description Field' - only shows in Contract Screen not Quotation Screen

Hi All,
I am in the process of creating some functionality where an Opportunity is created in CRM, then Quotations are created from these Opportunities... The winning Quotation is released through to R/3 and then a Contract is created from that Quotation. My problem is:
When the Opp is created the user adds a 'Description', when the Quotation is created the Description is still in the header data, once the Quotation is released into r/3 the Description is there at table level but not on screen anywhere - whereas when I create the Contract the field (albiet noit populated) is on the screen...
My question is - How do you get the DESCRIPTION field in the Quotation Screen VA21-VA23 - they seem to be using the same screen number as VA41-VA43

VirtualBox Description Field Does Not Display

The VirtualBox description field does not show up any more. Here is what it looks like
It happened right after I was modifying a description at the same time I was shutting down that same guest machine. I got a message asking me to save one thing or discard it and save something else, I chose to save the machine information and discard my entry into the description field. Now, no machines display a description.
I can see the description if I click on it.
To fix this, I even tried uninstalling and re-installing VirtualBox.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

You may want to provide information about what primary OS and which version of VirtualBox you are using.
Perhaps you have renamed the Virtual machine folder. I suggest to locate the directory on your computer and edit the machine name of your Guest OS accordingly.

Description field in ldap not showing up in addressbook notes

i am running an ldap server and items that are in the notes field are not showing up in address book. how can i get notes/description items in ldap to show up in apples address book.

i have an ldap server with addressbook info in it. i would like to have some of the data show up in the note section of addressbook. what field would i put this data in on ldap's side?

CR2008SP3 - AD description field (string 65534) not showing on report

I am using CR2008 SP3 listing all the computers in AD.
select cn,description from 'LDAP://DC=xxxxx,DC=xxxxx,DC=xxxxx' where objectclass='Computer'
I can see all my computers but the description field does not display any data.
If you go into AD you can see the data for the description field for the specific computers.
How can I get this field to display on the report?

Is there a way to have the description field in a calendar list item to support enhanced rich text?

We have a user who has a few hundred calendar items created in outlook. If you open the calendar item, the description includes tables with borders, shading, etc. It seems that the description field in Sharepoint calendars only support basic rich text,
so if I copy the items from the user's calendar to the sharepoint calendar, the formatting is lost. Is there any way to create a custom calendar with enhanced rich text for the description field?

This is a workaround that is working for us. I created a new column "Event Description", selected "Plain Text" and then created a basic workflow that updated Description from Event Description. #160 is no longer showing.
Please be aware that the trick to this is that you must write everything in a string. In other words, don't use the Enter key.
In my case it was worth it as we couldn't rebuild and the user needed a valid and quick fix.

The "i" button for Videos in Description field

Is there a way to get the "i" button in the description field (to show description in a separate pop up window) to show up for videos (the video icon under in Source area)?
They show up in the iTunes video store and for downloaded Podcasts (under the Podcast icon in Source area not Library), but do not for up for dowloaded Videos (or even for dowloaded podcasts when looking at them through library (main library in Source). The descriptions of some of the TV Shows I have bought through iTunes are very long sometimes and have almost found it easier to just find the show again on the iTunes store and click on the "i" there instead of trying to spread the description column at wide enough to be able to see enough to make sense of what it is saying. But that still should not have to be done, so I am wondering if I am missing a preference setting somewhere or if it can be done through terminal or editing the iTunes preference file. I have sent it off as a suggestion, but I wanted to see if there was a quick solution that I am just over looking.

Well all I can say is that after the 10.6 update, I too lost my Get and Subscribe buttons once again. I downloaded and ran the install procedure and used the Repair option within it and that solved the issue. I only had to run it once though.
If you've done this twice without the problem being fixed, I don't know what else to suggest.

Cannot remove description field after adding to the Custom List

Problem: We created a Custom List and added a Description column from "Add from existing site columns" link. Now we need to remove it and it seems to have been sealed. We are not able to delete it.
There is no remove/delete link/button when we click on the field. Moreover in the Content Type it only shows Required, Optional, Hidden.
Requirement: Need to remove this field from the Custom List. Incidentally we added two of the description fields. We need to remove both of them without deleting the list itself.

IOS 8: The textbox to change the description field of the iCloud email account no longer exists

The textbox to change the description of the iCloud email account that existed in all previous versions of iOS, and is available for all other types of email accounts under iOS 8, appears to have been removed. Without this textbox, it is not possible to change the default description of "iCould", or to change a description that was set with a previous version of iOS. The description field still exists, as the value that I set on a previous version of iOS is still being used by some of my iOS devices, but there is currently no way to change it via the current iOS 8 UI. The description field is available to change for all other kinds of email accounts.

I used an iCloud backup to transfer everything on my iPhone 5s to my iPhone 6. The (modified) description for my iCloud account transferred and appears the way I want it to appear on my iPhone 6. However, it cannot be changed.
Alternatively, I also have a new iPad Air 2 that I set up as a completely new iPad (i.e. I did not transfer anything from an older iPad). The iPad shows the description for my iCloud account as the default: "iCloud." It, too, cannot be changed.
True, this is only a minor annoyance, but it would be less of an issue if Apple had not removed a feature that previously existed in iOS 7.
I'm not sure if the removal was intentional or unintentional, but, again, I hope this gets fixed soon. In the meantime, I would be interested in anyone can find a workaround.

Does you friend use any accented letters in the descriptions? That might cause it but I don't know for sure.
Has he run any repair operations on his library, i.e. repairing the database file? Another possible fixe that's easy to apply is the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache folder(s):
Home/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
and, if there is one, the
Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

My requierement is to add the material group description field 2 in search help.
Analysis: While creating the shopping cart it will ask product category . when we click on the drop down list we can find the ...type if u click on that it will move to other screen where we can search.after that it will show the product category description , category ID, Logical system.
I want to add one more field to that ( product category description 2 field.

CATS via ESS - how to add WBS description field

Hi folks,
I've configured a new time profile which we will be using to integrate with Project System. We can enter the WBS number via the portal but I would also like to show a field which will automatically default to the description associated with the wbs number.
There seem to be a few user exits available but I'm not sure which one to use.

Problem displaying HANA description fields in Explorer

We have created a number of attribute views and a analytic view based on ECC tables. The underlying attribute views reference text tables, for example TSPA and TSPAT.
A data preview of the Analytic view in HANA Studio shows all the text fields correctly.
But when we display the analytic view in Explorer, certain text (description) fields fail to display, instead defaulting to the code.
When we reactivate the analytic view, we notice some of the originally-working text fields display correctly but others are now not working properly. Each time we reactivate the view we get different results.
Mutliple information spaces built on the same Analytic model all behave the same way.
We are using HANA rev 25.
Can anyone offer some advice of help on this issue?!

I am not sure about the same but many times this will happen when the attribute (in your case description) is the private attribute. So, you can check if the attribute is not a private attribute then how the report look like.

Strange formatting and symbols appearing in podcast description fields

Hey guys!
Hope you're enjoying your weekend so far. I'm having problems with the text formatting in the podcast description sections. For some reason strange characters are added in the podcast description fields that aren't there when I initially enter them in. Examples "nbsp;" "mdash", "ersquo;s". I feel like its related to the font or when I use punctuation. Can anybody here point me to the solution?

These are incomplete html codes for characters - you've left off the ampersand which must begin them.
is a non-breaking space
’ is the apostrophe or quote - '
&emdash; is a wide dash.
Firstly: you cannot use these named codes in XML, you have to use the numerical equivalents. If you are handwriting the code you can use ' for the apostrophe. But in general you should avoid using any of these codes: the iTunes Store usually does not render them but displays them. You should stick to plain text and paragraph returns. You've used a straightforward apostrophe elsewhere - 'She's been pIcked up by al the major labels' - and that's worked; so use that instead of the quote, use a straight dash - instead of the emdash, and replace the non-breaking space with an ordinary one.
