Design and Web Prem CS6 Windows to MAC

I upgraded my PC with Design and Web Prem CS6 on Aug 9, 2013.  I have a MAC and would like to have Design and Web Prem CS6 on that computer for other things I am working on.  Do I need to purchase this software at full price or can I just pay a fee for the MAC version since I own the license on the PC?     I purchased the Design and Web Prem CS6 awhile back as part of a class I was taking with the intention of downloading it onto a new computer, which I just got. The program downloaded  but Adobe is not accepting my activation number, says it doesn't work on any of the products listed. Since I paid for the program, I obviously want to use it.     I am trying to install Adobe CS6 Design and Web Premium on Windows 7 64-bit.  Everything goes well until installing AdobeHelp and when the minutes from 20 minutes jumped to 200 minutes and freeze.

    I don't know if you are on a personal PC/Mac or on a large environment. On my case I'm trying to use AAMEE to package and SCCM 2012 to deploy it over a considerable number of 64bits machines.
    So, I have created a Deployment using AAMEE and one of the Exceptions was AdobeHelp. The command line that was provided on the Exceptionsinfo.txt after building the package is:
    AdobeHelp\InstallAdobeHelp.exe appVersion=4.0.244  appId=chc  pubId=4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1  installerArg1=-silent  installerArg2=-eulaAccepted  installerArg3=-programMenu  installerArg4=AdobeHelp.air
    With the normal AAMEE package I will not be able to install all the Exceptions so I created a CMD file with a sequence to install the main MSI and then the Exceptions. To the provided command before mentioned I included the following:
    start /wait "%~dp0\Exceptions\AdobeHelp\InstallAdobeHelp.exe" appVersion=4.0.244  appId=chc  pubId=4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1  installerArg1=-silent  installerArg2=-eulaAccepted  installerArg3=-programMenu  installerArg4=AdobeHelp.air
    My sequence goes well but then when trying to install AdobeHelp it sends an error that it can't find -silent and seems that it got frozen as it's still runing the installation as I'm writing.
    If someone has any idea please share it with us as this could be an error on AAMEE with the command that it was provided to me after creating the deployment package.

    When I try to reinstall CS6 Design and Web Prem i get message that my serial number (Design and Web Prem <serial number removed>) is not valid? Why???? I have it installed now on just one computer only. It was installed also on a computer and a laptop. The laptop crashed and couldn't restart anymore. I had to through it away. After that I installed on another computer at a place where I work sometimes with photoshop. Then suddenly I got message at my computer home that the serialnumber is invalid. I installed for the time an try out version, and now I have deleted the version that I had on the computer but when i want to reinstall my legal bought version with the serial number that i mention there, I get again the message that my serial number is invalid. But now it is only installed on 1 other computer. If I check the sites, I have to contact Adobe but I don't know how. The link does not work and I cannot find any phonenumber.!!

    If you had it on a laptop that crashed and you threw away, it is still considered as activated on that machine.  YOu should contact Adobe by chat or by phone and have them deactivate for you.

    No. Standalone licenses use a platform-specific serial number. Only Creative Cloud is avialable on both platforms with the same license.

  • Installing Design and Web Prem on a different computer?

    About a year and a half ago I bought the Design and Web Prem from Adobe for my MAC.
    I remember hearing you can un-install it from one computer and re-install it on another if you don't want to use it on the first anymore. I could have sworn I did this once before just to see if it was true but my memory is dreadful.
    Recently my MAC has been going down the drain. I recently bought a new Desktop (Windows 7) and I've been wanting to transfer all my adobe products to that computer, but the CD I have doesn't seem to want to work on my PC. It seems to only work for a MAC? I also cannot find any downloads for it online. But I do have the Serial number.
    What can I do? My Mac can hardly keep Flash open without crashing. And I really need these programs working properly on a computer.

    If you purchased CS6 then you are probably in luck.  Adobe allows cross-platform exchanges but only for the most recent version.  Although Creative Cloud is the most recent, they are still selling CS6 so the provision for platform changes is likely still supported.  If you purchased an earlier version than CS6 you will not have that option.  See the following....

    As far as having the software installed versus machines goes, you are allowed to have two activated installations, so you would not normally need to remove it from a first machine, but because you are looking to change platforms, you cannot have both platforms supported with the same license.

    Please peform the following steps in order change the User Interface of Photoshop CS6(Japanese or any other language) to English.
    Windows:
    Navigate to the directory C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Locales\<languageSet>\Support Files
    Look for the file named "tw10418.dat"
    Rename the file extension to .back from .dat(please make sure Photoshop is closed
    Restart Photoshop.
    You need to follow the same procedure for C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Locales\<languageSet>\Support Files
    Mac:
    Navigate to the directory /Applications/Photoshop CS6/Locales/<languageSet>/Support Files
    Look for the file named "tw10418.dat"
    Rename the file extension to .back from .dat(please make sure Photoshop is closed
    Restart Photoshop
    Note: Here <languageSet> is ccorespond to your current language.

    Trying to install Adobe Creative Suite Design and Web Premium CS6 package. When I run the install I keep getting the error message: "A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder".  HOW DO I FIX THIS?

    Hey John,
    That sounds like a tough one. I searched around a little and found a few other reports of this error but saw no definitive solutions.
    This would be what I would recommend you try:
    - Be sure you're using the default installation option if you are not already, install to the boot drive, typically C: (you're probably already doing this)
    - The amount of free space is really only relevant for the OS drive. I'd try using Disk Cleanup and remove all temporary files
    This doc is for Windows 7 but should work for 8.1 too - Delete files using Disk Cleanup - Windows Help
    - Boot up in a Selective Startup and attempt the installation again from there. These instructions are the steps I would try - How to perform a clean boot of Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 to diagnose issues
    Note: You'll want to re-enable the normal startup afterwards regardless
    - Finally, attempt the installation from the Windows built in Administrative account and see if you get the same result, here are the instructions I would follow - Windows 8.1 Tip: How To Enable and Disable Hidden Administrator Account | Next of Windows
    Like before, you'll want to disable it and revert back to your normal user afterwards
    I'd recommend testing the installation after completing each of these steps I described above. I've seen cases similar to this before, where other software was interfering with the installation, the OS was not reporting accurate free space to the installer, or something is restricting necessary rights to the installer for access to directories needed for the installation. I suspect some similar is happening to you as well.
    Please give these a go and let me know if you get it installed.

I tried to follow the deactivation procedure specified at the adobe website, but the deactivation option  is not appearing on my software HELP menu. What could I do to solve this problem.     Alfred which operating system are you using?  Do you receive any specific error messages when you try to install Adobe Acrobat 10 Professional?

    Also, I had to install the software twice on my same computer before because I had to reboot the computer. I don't know if this affects the limit.

    You are allowed to have two activated installations so there should not be a problem having working installations on the two machines.  If by chance you have somehow tied up two activations for the one machine you can have Adobe support help resolve that thru chat.
