My Company merging to a another company and how do i allow users to access email?
My Company: DomainA.com
New Company : DomainB.com
Going to setup trust between DomainA and DomainB
Exchange Servers in DomainB but we need to managed our users and give them the same email address as domainB
Setting an exchange server is in our end is possible too. need your help to design this.

Not all of the users in our environment have this issue. If the users having this issue, install a secondary email account, Gmail, Hotmail, etc, then they can send through those accounts. Why would the exchange account not be seen to send photos?

Sounds like it worked until the policies associated with the account that are creating the problem were fully pushed down.
Try setting up a new (test) Exhange account and see if it behaves the same way on the phone (after removing the problem account from the phone, of course).

Using Mail in Exchange Environment

Looking for how-to tips on getting Mail to work in an Exchange environment. Do not want to use Entourage. Also, what ports need to be open so that I can use SMTP for gmail and mac accounts. Company I am working at appears to be blocking them for security reasons.

Mail can't connect to Exchange servers using the native protocol. There needs an IMAP or POP3 connector to be installed, activated and set up on the Exchange server. That way you can connect to the server using POP3 or IMAP protocol. To send, the SMTP service needs to be active on the Exchange server. In short: there is no way to connect to an Exchange server like Outlook would do. If the server is set up to act as a "normal" POP3/SMTP/IMAP mailserver, you can connect to it.
For GMail: SMTP (sending mail) uses port 25 or 587 as a standard (where 25 is the mostly used one), POP3 (receiving) uses 110 by default.

We are trying to fetch the data from SAP thru ETL tool BODS; while doing so we are facing the following issues :
1.        While connecting to SAP RFCu2019s through BODS, we are getting the following error
u2018RFC CallReceive error <Function RFC_ABAP_INSTALL_AND_RUN : You do not have authorization for this functionu2026u2026> (BODI-1112339).
As per our understanding, this requires the privilege to execute the function RFC_ABAP_INSTALL_AND_RUN. ??
2.        Also, we require to load the BODS functions(related to SAP) on SAP Server using CTS (Correction and Transfer System); as per help document given in technical manual of BODS. We are getting the error while importing the component in BODS as these functions are not available in SAP.Getting error like function module Z_AW_TABLE_IMPORT not found
We are following the instructions and we have the required files (R900XXX.SXX and K900XXX.SXX). But we do not find /usr/sap/trans/data and /usr/sap/trans/cofiles directories in SAP server.
How to achieve this in BODS ??
Also can you tell one thing that can we talk to SAP from BODS without importing the tables and metadata in BODS datastore ??
Urgent help required.

Public folders in Mixed Exchange environment

We are running
- Exchange 2007 - a LOT of users and a LOT of PF
- Exchange 2010 ( currently very limited )
- Exchange 2013 - about 2000 users
The Exch 2010 environment was pretty much stood up and had 30 pilot accounts on it before we decided to go to Exch 2013 instead/ These account have since been migrated to Exch 2013, so it is currently VERY LIMITED use.
We have a large number of Public Folders in Exch 2007. We do not plan on using the Exch 2013 model of shared mailboxes, but are looking to create the Public Folders in the Exch 2010 environment so we can close down Exch 2007.
The bulk of my users are still on 2007, but I have a couple thousand already moved to 2013. All users can access the Public Folders on Exch 2007.
We have not created any Public Folders in Exch 2010 yet. Practically all the posts I read state to enable replication for the 2007 folders to get them to 2010, but what about NEW folders. If I create a new folder on Exch 2010, without configuring replication
to 2007, will the Exch 2007 and Exch 2013 users be able to access it?

For Exchange 2010 or Ex2007 you will need to setup the replication but for Exchange 2013 it is different.
what is your plan,, do you want to keep them on 2013 or 2010 or you want keep the mix environment?
If I create a new folder on Exch 2010, without configuring replication to 2007, will the Exch 2007 and Exch 2013 users be able to access it? Yes you can still access them. You will need to setup the database for the default public folders.

Domain controller upgrade in Exchange Environment

We have an existing 2003 Server Environment and Exchange server 2003 coexistence with Exchange server 2010 with DAG setup. We have recently decided to move to a windows server 2012 standard Environment. How do I promote the new windows Server 2012 std
to DC and remove the 2003 Server from the Environment. My users are currently using the old 2003 DC to logon.

We have windows 2003 enterprise + sp2 Domain controller (holding DNS as well) and Exchange server 2003 Entp + Exchange server 2010 running in Coexistence with DAG.
We have decided to remove the 2003 Server from the Environment and go with Windows 2012 Standard OS. I would know to know the what will be the impact on Exchange server environment if any ?
please suggest right path with less downtime.Mailing service should not be affected.

Shared resource Calendar in a mixed exchange environment

So another Exchange question. Mixed environment with Exchange 2013 HUB, CAS, and MBX servers in one location and Exchange 2007 HUB, CAS, and MBX server at another location. Currently all mail comes in through the 2013 server, but the outbound mail is handled by the server at their location ie: site A has the Exchange 2013 server handle the outbound, and site B has the Exchange 2007 server handle the outbound.We do not use puplic folders.I need to have a Shared Resource calendar that will be used\accessed by multiple users that are located on either the 2013 or the 2007 mailbox servers. This calendar should be resident if possible on the 2007 mailbox server as management does not intend to upgrade the Exchange 2007 server in the forseeable future, but there could be the potential for seperating into stand alone email servers for each...

BPEL Designer Standalone Environment and BPELConsole

I have recently download BPEL Designer for Eclipse 3.0 (bpelz_0.9.13_win32.exe). Oracle BPEL Process Manager 2.0 Tutorial requires a 100MB of disc space for the BPEL Server, unfortunately, I cannot find the link to perform the download of that BPEL Server.
Alternatively, I have tried to configure the Designer for a Standalone Environment but the technical note #005 refers to an old version of BPEL Designer, the current version of the plugin.xml file, located at: plugins\com.oracle.bpel.designer_0.9.13\plugin.xml, doesn't have an antProperties point ( point ='org.eclisep.ant.core.antProperties">) to change the 'home' ant property.
Additionally, when I try to run the BPELConsole from Eclipse, it doesn't work (http://localhost:9700/BPELConsole), I get an error message "The page cannot be displayed".
Where is the BPEL Server download link?
What modifications do I have to do to run the standalone environment and the BPELConsole?

Query Designer Exchange Rate

Hi All,
I have setup my own BI currency conversion type which i am using in my reports to convert from Euro to USD.
This currency conversion type is one flat rate so that for each specific month of my report it uses the same rate.
I am now maintaining a different rate for each month and I am looking to use this different rate for each month in my query by making my currency conversion type into a 'Variable Time Reference'.
This works well for fields in the format Fiscal Year Period(0FISCPER) and Calendar Month(0CALMONTH) e.g. 001.2010.
My problem is that my report columns are not in this format, I am using a combination of both 0FISCYEAR and 0FISCPER3 in the column selections seperately and therefore I am having an issue making this conversion type into a time reference variable as in the transaction RSCUR I seem to only have the option of using 0FISCPER or 0CALMONTH.
Any ideas on how I can make this work when the year and month are seperate fields?

Hi,
You will have to design two currency translation types for T and T+1.
This design you should do in rscur transaction.
But you should be maintaining the currency rates in ob08 table in BI.
In rscur,you define your two currency translation types..Then these two
currency translation types(say x and y) has to be used with keyFigure
selling price..When you add selling price in keyfigure column, you can
see one currency translation tab for that key figure..add x as the currency
translation type.Similarly you can do for y too..

Should we allow/support Macs/iPhones in our Office/Exchange environment?

I'm trying to see if we should allow/support employees who want Macs and iPhones at our company (we use Office and Exchange).
Will they require Office for Mac, or can they integrate with our Exchange system (easily/seamlessly) using the build in Mac "Address Book" and "Mail" programs?
Is this too "apples and oranges" to attempt, or is it no big deal?

My office uses an Exchange server and I use a Macbook Pro. Exchange integration is no big deal. As far as Office For Mac, I don't use it. I instead have Windows installed on my Macbook Pro and use Office 2007 including Outlook. No problems. There is the added expense of buying Windows licenses for the Mac users.
Someone else will comment on using Office For Mac.

Help designing Exchange 2010 infrastructure

Hi all,
I hope that someone could give me some advices to make me bette runderstand how to achieve my goal.
I'm going to redesing my Exchange 2010 infrastructure. Here are some details about my actual configuration:
-       1 domain;
-       4 offices (1 HQ and 3 branch offices);
-       4 AD sites. HQ has 192.168.1.0/24 subnet, brach office 1 has 192.168.3.0/24, brach office 2 has 192.168.5.0/24 and brach office 4 has 192.168.7.0/24;
-       In every AD site I have there is 1 Exchange 2010 Server with HUB,CAS and Mailbox roles installed.
Actually every office/AD sites has its own Internet Access (2 ISP for every office) and while the email for my domain are received only on the Exchange located in the HQ, all 4 AD sites sends email independently (with the creation of appropriate MX records,
PTR, SPF etc…).
Now we are changing the connectivity in all 4 offices that will share the same Internet access at the DataCenter, so that all incoming and outgoing traffic will pass through the Datacenter.
From what I understand every AD site that has an Exchange 2010 server with mailbox roles installed must have an HUB and a CAS server/role too. This is my actual cfg.
Since I can put servers in DataCenter I'm thinking about to create an additional AD site (192.168.9.0/24). Once done I will installa an addtional DC and an Exchange 2010 server with only HUB and CAS roles (Maybe an Edge server too).
What I would like to achieve is to have a “single” Exchange 2010 server that manages all ExternalToInternal connection for clients such as Outlook Anywhere, OWA, ActiveSync, Windows phones etc…that resilenty will redirect request to the correct AD site.
Internally the same clients will contact the Exchange Server in their own AD site.
So external users will refers to a generic "mail.domain.it" while internal users will refers to "mailA.doman.it","mailB.domain.it" and so on...
I know that I need to reconfigure the URL within the exchange exchange servers and there are some others cfg to do but I would like to know if it should works this way.

Yes, that's actually pretty easy. See this document for an excellent description of proxying and redirection. Basically you want to have the new site proxy all traffic for the remote sites.

Addresses exist in local AD/Exchange environment; possible to send to those addresses internally and have them route out to the internet?

Short story; Company A acquires Company B. B is still using their external mail system for a period of time before transititioning to A's email. After B moves to A's mail server, they will continue to receive mail to their legacy addresses/domains
(companyb.com) for a period of time. B already has objects defined in A with a companya.com SMTP address. Is it possible to prestage B's objects with their legacy SMTP addresses, while at the same time allowing users from A to send messages
to B's legacy SMTP addresses and have it route out to the internet and not to B's local mailbox?

No. If the exact SMTP address exists in the org, it will never leave the Exchange org when sent from an authenticated user.

Customizing email alerts in Exchange Environment

We have a large deployment of Blackberries in our company (> 3000). We are piloting the iphone and I would love to switch over but, as part of the pilot, I find several show-stoppers.
The first being the inability to customize when email alerts are generated. From what I have found all that I can do it set the tone on or vibrate on - so every email generates on of the above. We have all blackberries configured to only buzz or tone when an URGENT message (high priority from Outlook) comes through. Without this our Blackberries would tone or buzz all day and night. This is the "filter" ability on a Blackberry. We also do the same based on who sent the message (e.g. CIO emails me so I want it to buzz).
There does not appear to be a way to search emails based on a keyword or sender. Again, a Blackberry feature.
These are just a few of the issues I have uncovered so far.
Does anyone else have the same issue? Have you solved it?

We have over 700 iPhones connected to our email system and the alert feature you're requesting is one of the main reasons why some people still prefer the BlackBerry. There's currently no way to customize alerts like there is on the BlackBerry. There's also no way to search for emails on the phone. I'd definitely like both features too.
That said, we're finding that given a choice, our users are overwhelmingly picking the iPhone over the BlackBerry. Over the 18 month life of the phone (that's our policy), it's cheaper too.

I have two servers behind a Firewall in a small company (3 employees). Now I was asked to "redesign" a new server structure with 2 virtual OS X 10.9.5 servers.
So I have the following idea:
Server 1 functionality: DNS, DHCP, Open Directory, Fileserver and TimeMachine (Nothing accessible from Internet)
Server 2 functionality: Calendar, Contacts, Mail, MySQL and Webserver (all accessible from Internet)
Now I have the following questions:
- Can i run the Profilemanager service on "Server 2" with using the OpenDirectory and DNS service from "Server 1"?
- If not: Is it possible to configre the Profilemanager service on "Server 2" and using a OpenDirecotry Slave instance?
My target ist to separate the services into "accessible from internet" and "not accessible from internet" so that there is a reduced security problem.

Has anyone got IMAP to work in a Exchange 2013 to Exchange 2007 coexistence environment?

We are currently upgrading our Exchange environment to 2013 from 2007. Our 2007 Exchange is a multi-role and our 2013 is two servers - a CAS role and MBX role. So far, following the deployment guide, we have most everything working and have begun moving
mailboxes. However, we can not get IMAP to work. I have started the IMAP services on both the CAS and MBX servers and assigned IMAP to our UC certificate. Checking get-imapsettings on our 2013 CAS server the X509CertificateName does match our UC certificate
name on our 2013 CAS. Under ECP > Servers > CAS - I have authentication for IMAP set to Secure TLS connection and everything else as default. When I run the Microsoft Remote Connectivity analyzer using a account that we have migrated to 2013 I get the
following error below. It successfully resolves the host name we use for Exchange, the port 993, and shows a valid certificate. Any ideas what I may be missing for IMAP to work. OWA and other services seem to be working just fine. Is there anything manual
I need to do with the imap settings for internal/external urls,etc. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have spent 3 days trying to diagnose the problem.

The x509certificatename setting does match the CN as well. Sorry I should have mentioned that the CN and friendly name are the same. IIS (OWA) works just fine with the certificate and based on the full test results shown below the problem seems to be
with authentication but I can't put my finger on it. IMAP connections to our 2007 Exchange server are working just fine. I'm wondering if it is an issue with the coexistence of the two versions perhaps? I don't see anything about 2007/2013 coexistence being
an issue with IMAP but I'm also not finding anything in the deployment guide about additional settings that need to be changed to get IMAP to work properly.
