I placed a box (with the rectangle tool) tiled it with a png. but when I stretch it out I don't get a red line indicating I am at the end of the browser.  Am I doing something wrong?

For full control over your design, you can set elements to display at 100% browser width so the design adapts to the size of the browser window.

  • How will an external Hard drive designed for the macbook Pro work with my White Macbook?  My  white macbook has a Firewire 400 and the G-Tech HD has a 800 to 400 compatible cable for the firewire.

I am asking this because I want the G-Tech Hard drive  says that it is designed for the macbook pro.  Yet, I want to back up faster with by using my firewire 400 which is not an option on the one designed for the white macbook that does not have a firewire (only a USB port.)  The G-Tech Hard drive comes with the 800 to 400 compatible cable and has 5400 RPM with 750 GB.  Also, I've heard that laptops with low battery (mine all the time)  won't have the power for a bus powered Hard drive (as in no ac plug in adaptor.)  Can I just plug in my laptop?  Any one know the answers from experience with this hard drive?

As far as I know, if a harddrive works with a Macpro, it should work with the Macbook: if your Macbook is low on power, plug in the AC adapter
If your Macbook has a firewire port, then it should be fine. BUt i would do somemore research first.

I've just bought a Macbook Pro 15" and I'm trying to use Photoshop, but the resolution its displaying the images at for 100% are too small. I have to design for the web, so need to be intricate with detail, but I'm finding it adjusts the resolution of the image right down. (I mean you can see the image clearly, but it's too small to edit). When I look at Safari and see a web page at 100% it's clear, but the same page displayed in Photoshop CC appears 50% of the size (even though it says it's 100%)   If I move the application window to another screen it adjusts it correctly  – leaving all the pallettes, menus and tools correctly sized as they are on the retina display   Is there some way to adjust the way Photoshop CC displays images so it is more consistent with what you actually see?   There doesn't seem to be any answer on the Adobe forum, so hopefully someone here can shed some light.  MacBook Pro with Retina display, 15", OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), Photoshop CC 2014

I tested both ways. With "open in low resolution" ckecked the size of the images is cool, but it is low-resolution including Photoshop appearance.
If "open in low resolution" is unckecked the appearance is good but the very small size.
See the image below. It has 650 x 732 px, 72 dpi. The font of the text "Neste aniversário ..." is with 18pt.

  • Need best Architecture design for the following scenario

    Hi Experts,
I need best architecture design for the following scenario:
    Sender: Mail
Receiver: if sender body contain u201DApproveu201D, then call SOAP adapter, If SOAP adapter execute successfully, then  send Mail(SOAP adapter executed successfully) and SMS .  So receiver is SOAP, Mail and SMS.
    My current approach issue:
    Three message mapping:
    Mapping1: mail to SOAP
    Mapping2: mail to Mail
    Mapping3: mail to SMS
In interface determinant>u201DSelect all three operation mappingu201D> u201Cselect order at runtimeu201D.
Issue in current approach: For me first SOAP adapter should complete successfully, after that only my Mail and SMS operation mapping should execute:
But problem is before success of SOAP adapter engine, Mail and SMS mapping completed or integration engine executed.
Note: There is possible to fail the SOAP request in adapter engine.
Kindly help me --> u201CAm I going correct way or want to change the architectureu201D?
    Thanks for advance!!
    Regards, Kumar

What do you mean by successful execution of soap call?  Are you talking about Successful response (happy flow) from the soap call instead of application error ? Then based on the response you want to decide sending mail and sms.  How big call is your soap ?  If your soap interface is very simple I can give the other possible way.
Sender sends the message, use mapping  to read the content and then do soap call in the mapping itself and after seeing the soap response decide about two receivers (mail and SMS).  If your soap call is very simple one, you can go for it. Otherwise I would not recommend this. The reason is you loose some visibility regards to monitoring during soap call in the mapping.
Other option is go for CCBPM.  Here you receive the message, use send step to soap interface which is sync step. Then after seeing the response create another block with fork steps each for two senders mail and sms. If response bad then dont proceed or execute the next block. Simply use exeception or control step to jump out from the block,

  • A sleeve exclusively designed for the retina 15" macbook pro?

I want to buy a sleeve for my 15" retina macbook pro, but i realize that there are a lot of sellers that advertise their prodcuts as "made for retina" but in reality they were made for the classic macbook pro, so they fit loose , baggy... can you recommend a good sleeve specifically designed for the 15" retina macbook pro? I would like one with a pocket for the charger, so far these two are my choices:
    Booq Mamba Sleeve 15 http://www.booqbags.com/us/sleeves/mamba-sleeve/MSL11-GRY
Incase Neopreno Pro Sleeve http://store.apple.com/us/product/HA175ZM/A/incase-15-neoprene-pro-sleeve-for-ma cbook-pro-with-retina-display?fnode=50

I am also looking for such a case. I find that since the Retina is smaller/thinner -- every case I try the laptop is swimming around inside. I also feel like the laptop itself is less bulky so I'd like a case that takes advantage of our ability to be more sleek and small while traveling.
Have you had any luck finding a case?

  • How to search in BI 7.1 query designer for the required key figures & chars

    Hi All,
Can anyone plz tell me how to search in BI 7.1 query designer for the required key figures & characteristics. I have the query being built on a multiprovider which has many cubes.
So, i have a huge list of key figures and characteristics. I am not able to search for the required one by the name or the technical name.
How can we search and pick the required object from the enormous list of the Mutliprovider in the Bex Query Designer??
    Thanks
    Phani

There is not a search feature available. You have to do an educated guess under what dimension your infoobject could be and select.

  • Designing for the iPad 3 Questions

    Hi Guys,
I am currently working on designing a digital magazine intended for the iPad 3.
When I design my psd working files at 1536 x 2048px at 300 ppi and then place them in the indesign file they appear to be about half the size that I would think they should be. So I exported the page as a PDF from indesign and then opened it in photoshop. When opened it's dimensions were 5588 x 7453 px at 300 ppi. So I saved this and placed it back in indesign and it appears to fit correctly.
This seems funny to me as it ends up being larger than a print publication. It ends up being around 21" x 29".
I know I must be doing something wrong but if I could please get a little bit of help it would be great.
I guess my basic question is how should I set my psd files up when designing for the iPad 3?
    Thanks!

    Hi Joe,
It seems like you are having some trouble with your ppi settings. If you are going to be designing for the screen (e.g. iPad, web) you need to use 72ppi. It may seem a bit odd as the iPad's actual ppi is significantly higher than this, but thats just the way it is. If you change your settings to 72 ppi, everything should go back to normal.
EDIT: Bob Bringhurst explains the difference between effective and actual ppis in this thread here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4319794#4319794
    Cheers!

  • Forums.ni.com site designed for the mobile user

Isn't it time there was a mobile site designed for the mobile device user wanting to catch up on discussions. While you can view the site on mobile devices, navigating around can be quite a chore. With the normal site there is too much information on the screen at any one time and having to zoom in and scroll about from left to right to read a message is a bit of a headache.
    Regards
    Ray Farmer

"Mobile optimized" sites will probably soon be a thing of the past. They were made to avoid problems with ultra tiny screens and very slow connections (remember GPRS?).
A typical mobile device now runs on 3G or even 4D and the screens are sometimes 800x640 or higher.
My android G1 phone is over 2 years old, and I still typically prefer the full site. I'll probably upgrade in a few weeks and will at least double the screen resolution. I'll stick with the regular site.
(One problem is the placement of the new kudos gadgets. It is impossible to see them at the same time with the post author, thus creating significant confusion to figure out what belongs to where ... ).

  • Flexible Browser Width never worked

    Hi,
I have been using Muse for some time, through various versions and the flexible browser width feature has never worked for me. Generally most sites i design are 960 wide with centred content and the handles of the selection never turn red to indicate the feature. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

I don't know if this helps your problem: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/muse-design-for-flexible-browser-width/

  • What are the right Color Settings and Proof Setup in Photoshop if you design for the web?

This question has come up numerous times, but I still haven't seen a satisfying, final answer. I would like to make sure that what I'm designing in Photoshop in regards to colors, saturation and brightness will be as close as possible as what I'm going to see in my Safari browser once that same page has been developed.
I understand there are going to be differences between monitors and browsers, but if I just could get an almost one to one translation in regards to color/saturation/brightness from my Photoshop file to that same developed HTML page in Safari that would be ideal.
Currently I set my Color Settings to Monitor RGB - Display and my Proof Setup to Monitor RGB. Not sure if these settings are correct.
Curious to hear your thoughts and advice.
    Thanks,
    -Tony

if AdobeRGB is the more professional working space, then why not use that profile?
on the web (and in unmanaged and broken work flows) sRGB is the safest profile (source space)
just open your tagged Adobe RGB and tagged ProPhoto RGB document (use the embedded profile in each document)
and go to View> Proof Setup: Monitor RGB (notice the loss in saturation? that's how most of the people on the Internet will be viewing your color, assuming you have a standard-gamut monitor like most people)
always CONVERT to sRGB for the World Wide Web
    i didn't read your link
anyone who recommends "disable color management in Photoshop" -- set Working RGB to "Monitor RGB" -- AND MOST UNBELIEVABLY -- "Don't color manage this document" (ignore embedded profiles) ------ is pretty mixed up (in my opinion)
i will recommend reading JEFF SCHEWE and BRUCE FRASER for professional color management information

  • Alternate design for the ORS org structure

    Hi Gurus,
Need your expert advise on below issue. We are currently on SRM 5.0 using classic scenario.
We are currently exploring the feasibility of either adopting the HR org structure for ORS or an alternative to the org chart that supports workflow routing  and is not cumbersome to maintain.
Please advise if there is any other alternate design aside from adopting  HR org unit to ORS. Can also advise if that design as an org chart will support workflow.
    Many thanks for the help.
