What are all the different methods/tools for creating animations that work in IBA?

I've been developing HTML5 animations in Sencha and attempting to use the HTML widget in IBA. It's not going as seamless as I was hoping, and I was wondering if there are better methods/tools to create animations for IBA. In my opinion, the primary limitation is not in Sencha itself, it's more in the widget functionality in IBA.
I want the entire page to be an animation and drive the user experience, basically. Currently in IBA, the widget allows for successfully importing an HTML5 animation, but in more as a complementary role to the page instead of the primary content.
Any ideas?

Thanks Fabe - I agree 100%. However, in order to make fully dynamic books, animations can play a great role in bringing a book to life. (Admittedly, I may have to just build an app for what I'm trying to do)

Best method/tool for cloning a failing HDD for Data Recovery?

I have been brooding over this subject "Which method/tool is best for cloning a failing HDD - including the system drive - for data recovery from the clone.Has anyone tried cloning for this specific purpose and achieved any results?I would be interested if they can share their experience or even air their views on the subject.

In XI 3.1 client auditing is a bit limited, you may need to do some testing to determine if it is possible to audit what you are looking for.

How to integrate EA Modeling (Sparx EA) and Oracle Design/Devl tooling (JDev/OER/OSR)?
How does the Oracle BPA Suite (Aris) connection to OER /OSR/JDev (SOA Governance) work?
Our challenge is to create lineage and traceability end-to-end. We want to track what was modeled/designed, to what was built and do round-tripping if possible so that the ‘model’ which is stored in EA is the source of truth that can be used for dependency analysis and project planning and impact analysis.
Project:_
Large modernization project – using the entire Oracle FMW stack that includes SOA Suite, BPM Suite, WebCenter Suite, OER/OSR governance. We have all the ‘pieces’ of software, just working on how to stitch it all together.
Tooling:_
For Enterprise Modeling, the project is using the “SPARX Enterprise Architect” (SEA). Our goal is to stick to a ‘Model Based’ (not Model Driven) approach, and we want to create traceability. Within SEA, we have a very complete and traceable model from business requirements to Logical Architecture.
When we move to the Physical Architecture, we need to switch tooling to the JDeveloper world where all the artifacts and components will be created (and versioned and refined..), and hopefully inserted into the SOA Governance tools of OER/OSR/SOA Mgmt Pack.
Boundaries:_
EA Modeling will manage:
Business requirements, Business Architecture, Logical Architecture
JDev/SOA Governance will manage:
Physical Architecture and development (SCAs, BPM, BPEL, WSDL, XML, XSD, POJO, ORMs, Java, SOA Services, etc..)

Extract method tool deletes my comments

I have Jdeveloper 9.0.3, now I'm trying to use the extract method tool and works fine but some of the code that I shade to use with the tool contains several comments, and when the tool finish the execution my comments was deleted, Why? any ideas?, maybe some configuration???

Hand code or design with tool in netbean ?

Hello everybody, at first i am sorry for my best English. So last time my teacher taught me java with Netbean IDE. But he has just taught me with free design and null layout /:)
So now i don't know how to design GUI with layout. It's difficult. If when i work in a company so do i have to hand code or design with tools ? Sorry if my post are wrong in this box.

Well, IMO, when you learn to code with a tool, you are just learning the tool--you are now finding the facts about that the hard way. You need to go through the Java tutorial on GUI building and actually learn how to do it now. If you reacher is teaching how to use the GUI builder in NetBeans instead of how to build GUI's, he's doing you and everyone else a grave disservice.
When I find someone uses a code builder that is the point that their prospects usually start circling the drain unless they are willing to do a GUI development test using all manual tools; I've ran into far too many self proclaimed programmers that can use tool <name goes here> and really have no idea how to do anything except use that tool to get what ever that tool will produce--they cannot make a GUI or any other significant coding by themselves.

i want to know if there is performance aspects and good design i do the operation in good way ,
this is regards insert , update , modify
I do read opration from the DB tables and i need to create or update the value
1. if sy-subrc = 0 i check if the data that i get form the
DB is equel to the data that i have, if yes dont do anything .
2. if sy-subrc = 0 and some records are different - > do update
3. if sy-subrc <> 0 - > insert the records to the DB via insert commend
i know that modify do both update and insert but my question if for my case
its good to separate the operation for two method despite i can do that in same method
1. methods handle insert
2. method Handle update

Hi Joy,
Basic rules about creating the methods would be:
- keep it smart
- keep it small
- let the method be responsible for certain task only
- minimize but don't atomize - which means do not create method just to execute one statement only. Class itself may then become very hard to maintain if too many methods are used.
Generally in your case it is really of no matter how you handle it, either in both or in one method. All in all they will be both responsible for doing very similar task. So you can use one method and pass parameter i.e. mode where I would be for insert, U for update, but it's always up to you which approach you take.

BEx Web Application Designer old tool?

Someone told me that BEx Web Application Designer is an old tool that's not used anymore. And that Visual Composer and Web Dynpro are better tools to use. Is this correct?
Also, I was wondering if anyone could explain the difference between BEx Web Application Designer, Visual Composer and Web Dynpro. What situations do one use the different tools?

Bex Web Application is not an old tool and it is widley used for Web Reporting.
Actually the purpose of these three tools are different so all of them are extensively used.

Unable to embed External CSS file, dropdown list,filter panel and dimension filter are not working in SAP Design Studio Tool

Hello Everyone,
I am new to SAP Design Studio. I am working on creating dashboards and I am using Design Studio 1.2 version. Please suggest some solutions for the following issues. Thanks in Advance.
1. External CSS file which is embeded using custom CSS option under "application component properties" is not working.
* I kept the external CSS file inside repository-> my application folder.
2. During runtime, getting javascript error while selecting '-' option from filter panel.
3. Unable to select or type dimension name under "dimension filer component" properties.
4. Getting runtime error for dropdown list, and I have inserted the following code under "onStartup" option of Application component properties.
"DROPDOWN_1.setItems(DS_1.getMemberList("PRODUCTREF", MemberPresentation.INTERNAL_KEY, MemberDisplay.TEXT, 20));
and dimension values are not populated in auto suggest."

There should be an Error Log under View > Error Log that gives you more details of these errors. Could you add that? There is also a View > Script Problems log that provides more details as well.

Windows application design methods?

New to Java I'm having the same problems as others... totally incomprehensible behaviours and jargon. I need to get Windows application made. Is there a graphical, drag&drop layout tool in which I can place 'controls' such as buttons, panels, toolbars onto a window then write the code to respond to them? It seems to be commonplace in other systems.

I suggest that the FIRST skill you learn is how to find information on the internet.
IMHO that is FAR MORE IMPORTANT than any other single skill you might acquire.

Internally there are potentially several hundred 'procedures' that can be assembled in different ways to access data. For example, when getting one row from a table, you could use an index or a full table scan.
Explain Plan shows the [proposed] access path, or complete list of the procedures, in the order called, to do what the SQL statement is requesting.
The objective with Explain Plan is to review the proposed access path and determine whether alternates, through the use of hints or statistics or indexes or materialized views, might be 'better'.
You often use Wait analysis, through StatsPack, AWR/ADDM, TKProf, Trace, etc. to determine which SQL statement is likely causing a performance issue.

There are so many variables involved, that most tutorials are nearly useless. The common approach therefore is to read - a lot. And build up your own 'interpretation' of the reading.
Personal suggestion is to read (in order)
1) Oracle's Database Concepts manual (described some of 'how' this is happening)
2) Oracle's Performance Tuning manual (describes more of 'how' as related to performance and also describes some of the approaches)
3) Tom Kyte's latest book (has a lot of demos and 'proofs' about how specific things work)
4) Don Burleson's Statspack book (shows how to set up and do some basic interpretation)
5) Jonathan's book (how the optimizer works - tough reading, though)
6_ any book by the Oak Table (http://oaktable.net)
Beyond that is any book that contains the words 'Oracle' and 'Performance' in the title or description. BUT ... when reading, use truck-loads, not just grains, of salt.
Verify everything. I have seen an incredible amount of mistakes ... make 'em mysellf all the time, so I tend to recognize them when I see them. Believe nothing unless you have proven it for yourself.. Even then, realize there are exceptions and boundary conditions and ibgs and patches and statistics and CPU and memory and disk speed issues that will change ehat you have proven.
It's not hopeless. But it is a lot of work and effort. And well rewarded, if you decide to get serious.

Best way to design methods in a class. Pass parameters or use members?
