"Design notes"

Hi, I hope someone can tell me what to do.
When I start any new file or open an old one, the warning occurs, please see the picture. I tried to reboot the computer and run the LicenseRecovery, but is all the same. I found Design Notes_onOpen.htm, but do not know what to do.
What did I do wrong to get this notification and how to solve the problem?

Crashes, installation, JavaScript errors, and unexplained problems
If Dreamweaver is acting erratically, or if you see a message saying "the following JavaScript error(s) occurred", it's usually a sign of a corrupt cache file. The first thing to try should always be to delete the file cache. If that doesn't work, delete your personal Configuration folder. Full instructions are in Deleting a corrupted cache file.

I've been working in FCP with a version that a friend, in the business, was given as a perk and passed on to me. The FCP that he gave me is marked "Not for Sale". I did register it.
I just upgraded to Tiger and am having problems with dropping frames in capture. After looking at this discussion forum, I conclude that it's necessary to upgrade my FCP. Does anyone know if it Is possible to upgrade a product that was a promo gift, and thus designated, "Not For Sale"?

So it was a promo item, and not an academic version? AKA, it says Not For Sale on the registration screen when FCP opens? Those versions are usually handed out to academic institutions and are so that students or teachers could use a full version without buying it. Unfortunately, the only way for you to upgrade is to buy a whole new full retail version.

Can't delete design note

I've created a Design Note reminding to fix an error on the page. I fixed it and now I can't delete the note. I've tried the minus sign and deleting all the text. In both cases, the note comes back unchanged. How do you delete a note?

Design notes & CS3

Using Dreamweaver CS3 I've had issues with my design notes.
When setting up the site I've made sure the design notes were
unchecked, cleaned up the ones that were there and would work off
that. If I create a new folder in that site and start working in
that, CS3 for some reason still creates the _notes folder even
though I made sure the design notes wasn't checked. It's really
annoying me and didn't happen in CS2. Are you guys experiencing
this issue? Is there anything I can do so it doesn't create it
besides what I've already done?

Design notes are also used internally by DW for integration
with Fireworks,
Flash and Contribute.

Do you mean DW MX 2004 or DW 8? (there was no CS2).
I've always had some Design Notes in DW even though I've
never used them and
I switch them off. I've just learned to live with them.

Design Notes not showing up in Remote Server column

I cant seem to see the Design Note icon appear in the appropriate column of the remote server for collaborative use.
I think I have set the feature up correctly, and I have uploaded the document in question to the server, but no sign of the notes icon in the remote view pane.

I sorted this by turning off and on the Option to Show the Notes column in the FileView Columns window in the Advanced Settings.
Then refreshed the remote Site view and the Note icon appeared.
I think I already had the Enable Column Sharing option ticked there but maybe that also did it . . .

Adobe Designer not opening in NWDS

Hi,
Adobe Designer not opening in NWDS. When I open it as stand alone, it works fine. I Re-installed NWDS. Still no luck.I did tick the adobe Designer option while installing the NWDS setup.

HI Prassana,
Close the developer Studio, and from the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Designer 6.0, open the designer by clicking on FormDesigner.exe
Then close designer and then open the NWDS.

UI theme designer not working

UI5 addons are newly installed in our ERP 6 EHP6 system. But /UI5/THEME_DESIGNER in logon throws " This Function is not possible" .
Checking in SICF / default_host / bc / theming by activating the service and testing in the browser throws a " 403 Forbidden "
attached is screenshot of UI addons installed . Any suggestions are appreciated.

In my previous reply, I said that no config is required to launch theme designer. I have not said anything about fiori etc.
I guess your question is about theme designer not working right. and the answer is you need to open the transaction as /n/UI5/THEME_DESIGNER

How do you turn off design notes?

Could've sworn I turned off design notes when I created my site, but they seem to be on.
Where do I go to turn them off after the fact?

It's in the Site Definition dialog box. Click on the Site menu, choose Manage Sites, select your website, and then click Edit to open the Site Definition dialog box. Select the Advanced tab, select the Design Notes category on the left side, and then deselect the Design notes checkbox.

BAK (Backup)and MNO (Design Notes) files

I have inherited a site built with Dreamweaver and managed in Contribute and about to migrate the site to a different server and noticed a ton of mno and bak files correspondign tot he live sites.
First how are both of these file types generated?
What happens if I Clean Up the MNO (design notes) files?

Site=>Manage Sites=>Edit=>Site Definition=>Advanced=>Design Notes=>Maintain Design Notes (Click Clean Up button)
Will this delete all the MNO file types? ANd if so, how what are the implications? How do I prevetn future MNO file tyoes?

How are these being generated? How to delete? Implicaitons of deleting? How to prevent future generation of files?

Clickign the Clean Up button simply removes those .mno files that are not associated with an existing files. You'll get these when an HTML file is deleted, but the .mno file is not.
Dreamweaver uses design notes (.mno files) heavily with Contribute as well as to identify graphic source files for Fireworks, Flash and, I think in CS4, Photoshop. The .bak files are those created when the Rollback feature in Contribute is enabled. I'd recommend clicking Clean Up, then keeping the .mno and .bak files, unless you want to start of the site with a clean slate (i.e., no backups that the Contribute admin can rollback to) in which case, I'd remove the .bak files. Design notes are typically very small in size and act like cookies to maintain meta information.

Can I modify the design notes status list?

I'm one of the people who quite likes using design notes.
Does anyone know if I can modify the standard status list?
I'd like to add a couple of new items so that I do not have
to always add them as value pairs.

We ran into the same issue so we chose to create our own email submit button. We even allowed our users to enter their email, subject line and body using response boxes. We used the standard button and added the following Javascript on the click event.

If you want the body of the email to be blank just remove: + "&body=" + vBody

The Amazing Disappearing Design notes

Every day I go into Site Definitions and add Design Notes to
my File View Columns, and the next day I have to do it again, as
they are no
longer in my Column View . Any thoughts in why this might
be? I'm using DW 8.02 on a PC with Windows XP SP2.

This seems to be a problem that many of us are facing after update 1.0.2. Check the discussions on this thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1099428&tstart=0 Apple must have increased the power to the Wireless radio, and the antenna to increase the reliability of connections and reduce call drop, thereby causing battery life to reduce. We have reported it to apple, and hopefully, this should be fixed in the next update. As of now, after performing the reset/charge dance as described in the thread about, my phone stands at 1 hour 22 minutes of usage and 1 day 16 hours of standby with 80% charge remaining.

Permanantly disable sync, Design Notes, some columns?

I *never* use DW's sync feature, Design Notes, or site
columns except
for filename, type and date modified. I add several sites
every day or
at least every other day.
Is there a way to not have to keep disabling this stuff in
DW8?

I too got the same question, "do you want to transfer otherwise it will get deleted". And, I too said Yes (like you did) and also checked "don't ask me again" flag. So, it didn't bother me afterwards. Now I have set music and photos to synch, and working without any issues (so far).
After restoring, I deauthorized the computer because I have no intention of buying apps in the PC again. I am not sure whether that has any effect on this repeatedly asking queston (to transfer apps back to PC).
By the way, all these comments I am making are based on iTunes on Mac (which I mentioned earier). Not sure Windows verson acts differently.
However, there is one more tricky issue, which I later figured out. If any app is deleted during this process of disabling the sync option, and happened to be manually downlaoded again, any in-app purchases will be gone. (No issue with apps came through iCloud restore).
Apprently there are few types of in-app purchases and most of them (feature enabling ones) are redownloadable. However, it is messy becasue you have to know which in-app purchase you did before, and until you hit 'purchase' button and enter password again, system won't tell you whether it is already purchased or not. (You could accidently purchase a new one)
My case, one app got deleted like that, and I had to redownload the in-app purchase.
I definitely agree, probably a good idea to wait for Apple to solve it, but after hearing that "it is not considered a problem but that is how system is intended to work" from technical support person, I decided to solve it my way.

Cant use Design Notes

Hey Folks
I don't often use this feature, but last time i did - it work.
Now, when i try add a new design note via File > Design Notes... nothing happens.
I tried shutting down DW and re-opening, but still not. It seems to be for all files, not a specific file only.
Using CC 2014.1
Any ideas?

I have been using JBuilder 2005 Foundation for a few years but then lost it from my computer because of a computer virus.
I now have had the virus removed and wish to reinstall the JBuilder 2005 Foundation but dont remember how I did that.
So I took your advise and tried:

But I find that if I then click downloads at the top of the resulting web page I just get the whole screen showing an error message labelled Exception report of type java.lang.NullPointerException
If I click the JBuilder Enterprise Trial or the JBuilder Turbo options then the web page I come to only displays some downloads other than JBuilder 2005 Foundation
And I have tried clicking each and every option at the top of the web page including products and then JBuilder with no luck. I have also put in JBuilder 2005 in the search option at the top of one of the web pages and although it gives me some info on JBuilder 2005, I still cannot see where I can get the free download.
I have also Googled JBuilder 2005 download free but had the same kind of problem with every single one of the web sites I tried!
I would very greatly appreciate any insight into where I can find such a download on this (or any) web site.

Bug? Design-Notes are still being created (checkbox unchecked)

i've got an issue when using DW (CS6).
Although i've unchecked the design-notes option und used the delete old _notes-button (that at least worked outstandingly ;- ) ) "_notes"-folder are still being created in my project.
Is this a well known issue under some circumstances?

It's a handy feature to keep even if you're not in a team environment. You could still do with the notes, but not upload them remotely.
If you're in a team, this is critical to maintain sync.
Unchecking design-notes will not stop creating these folders. If you're keen on still doing this, follow these steps:
Go to "Manage Sites" in the site dropdown list
Select the site you want to remove _notes folders from
Click "Edit"
Click "Advanced"
Click "Remote Info" in the Category list
Uncheck "Maintain Synchronization Information"
Click "Design Notes" in the Category list
Uncheck "Maintain Design Notes"
That will disable creation of _notes folders for your site.
If you want to delete all _notes folders for your site after you've chosen to stop creating new ones, click "Clean Up" button once.

Design Notes - Can DW show all referenced files with notes?

Hello Everyone,
Is there a way to have DW display all files with Design Notes
on them? I like to make notes on any php files that I have edited
to keep track of code changes (especially when updating modules),
but I cant seem to find a way to have all edits show for a working
site. Is this possible? If so, how? If not, does anybody know of I
workaround? (apart from using a repository of course).

Well it's not the perfect solution for me, but here's the
closest thing from the docs.
Notes:
To show the yellow Design Notes icons, select Site > Manage
Sites > [your site name] > Edit > File View Columns on the
Advanced tab. Select Notes in the list panel and choose the Show
option. When you click the Expand button on the Files toolbar to
show both the local and remote site, you have a Notes column in
your local site that shows a yellow note icon for any file with a
Design Note.
Man, I kept missing this in the docs, finally...... Hope this
may help someone else in future!
