Design Premium CS5 dvd media include pdf manuals?

Delivery of Adobe CS5 Design Premium this morning via FEDEX.  Nicely packaged box contained both Windows and Mac packages within the packaging.  I quickly perused through the Windows media package (total of 3 dvd's...Design Premium applications dvd, Design Premium Content dvd, and finally Acrobat 9 Pro applications DVD).  While I haven't installed anything related to CS5 as yet (busy completing  a full format along with a fresh  Windows 7 Professional 32-bit o/s load) I noticed there is no pdf documentation contained within any of the three dvd's.  Am I missing said items or has Adobe done away with all the electronic documentation I have come to expect as part of this purchase?
If indeed this is the new "norm" I am kind of disappointed with this decision.  I also noticed I am missing the video workshop dvd similar to what Adobe provided in the past with CS3/CS4 as part of my purchase. I can understand Adobe wanting to go "green" but come on, how much more effort is required to include the electronic documentation.
Can someone validate my media delivery is intact as delivered or should I call the Adobe support line?

Thanks Bob-
Yes, I am still conflicted whether to go 32-bit or 64-bit Win7 Pro.  My company issued laptop is still on 32-bit Windows XP Pro SP3 and not due for trade-up/upgrade for another year or more.  I perform all my design work on a home workstation (Asus P6X58 motherboard with mildly overclocked i7-920 with 6Gb DDR3 memory) so I can go either way.  Downside for me going 64-bit o/s is our company doesn't presently provide 64-bit VPN client to gain access beyond our corporate firewall not to mention 64-bit driver support for my color laser printers are beyond horrible.
I cannot complain as my prior home workstation was a single core P4 Intel Prescott processor.....ever try to distill a full color 36 inch wide by 48 inch high Indesign poster into a pdf using a single core P4?....ugh

  • Trouble installing Design Premium cs5.5

I bought Design Premium cs5.5 on disk. I have a Macbook Pro, OS 10.5.8. I was able to install some programs, but not others, the installation logs did not help. Tried everything suggested in the help section. Called Adobe, when I couldn't copy the files to my desktop, they sent me a new disk. It seemed to work. Some  time later, I go to open Illustrator and it tells me I have to reinstall. It wouldn't install, so I tried to uninstall and reinstall. Ened up having the same problems I had to begin with, with both disks. I thought maybe it was my optical drive, and got a new one. Same problems. Everything installed but Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Flash. Checked disk permissions, set up another user, etc. If I try to copy the files to my desktop, I get an error. Any ideas?

You have tried the two different discs and different drives and still you were not able to copy the content to the desktop.
I would suggest to check the discs on the different computer , just to make sure the disc are correct. if they are contact Mac to get this think sort out.
and you can download the design premium cs5.5  from adobe.com website as the trial and while installing you can use your serial number.
, you can write the DVD with the setup downloaded from internet for the future use.

  • Design Premium CS5.5 and plan to upgrade to CS6

I have Design Premium CS5.5 and plan to upgrade to CS6.
May I still use CS5.5 on my laptop?

doctordun is talking about an UPGRADE to CS6.
That's clear from the first post. I'm am too.
The licensing system for CS6 is different than for previous versions, as will be made clear in the forthcoming announcement,
I'll await the changes in CS6 with interest.
I know about the forthcoming change to one-version-back for upgrades but I'm not aware of any EULA changes yet.
"Once I've upgraded, can I use, sell, or transfer the previous versions of the software?
No. Purchasing an upgrade to your product extends your existing license to cover the new version of Adobe software. It does not provide you with two separate licenses for the old version and the new version" [FAQ]
From clause 5 of the EULA
    http://www.adobe.com/products/eulas/pdfs/Gen_WWCombined-20110105_1512.pdf
    5. Updates
If the Software is an Update to a prior version of Adobe software (the "Prior Version"), the following apply:
Your use of this Update is conditional upon your retention of the Prior Version. Therefore, if you validly transfer this Update pursuant to Section 4.6, you must transfer the Prior Verision along with it. If you wish to use this Update in addition to the Prior Version, you may only do so on the same Computer on which you have installed and are using the Prior Version...."
If this wording remains unchanged for the CS6 EULA, that tells me that it's OK to have CS5.5 and the CS6 upgrade installed on two computers and use both CS5.5 and CS6 on each computer.
I do so daily with CS4 and CS5.
Given the above from the EULA, it seems that the FAQ should remove the word "use" from the question.

  • Installing Design Premium CS5.5 Upgrade: What to do with CS5?

I purchased the Win Design Premium CS5.5 Upgrade, installed it, and all seems fine... Except:
Now I have both CS5 and CS5.5 installed.
It was implied I needed to have CS5 installed to install the upgrade to CS5.5, but I sure don't want both.
    Question:
If I uninstall CS5 - will it break CS5.5 (like one of the upgrades did a few years ago)?
Should I close my eyes and click Uninstall and hope for the best?
I've not found any docs or white papers referring to this.
[update: I did find a couple of selected forum posts referring to using the Cleaner Tool,
but I'm still a little confused - do I uninstall CS5, then run cleaner? Seems awkward.]
Thanks in advance for any feedback
    system --->  Win7Pro64

It was implied by the folks @ Adobe when I ordered my upgrade (DVD). If I uninstalled CS5 first then my extensions would not get migrated and my settings would not get imported (e.g. dreamweaver sites, etc).
4 gig here, another 8 gig there * many years of upgrades = lots of disk space, and yes, size does matter.
Were you thinking of offering some revelant advice to my legitimate query, or are you just pumping up those 19,000+ posting stats? My refined question for the community professionals is: 'Can I uninstall CS5 without breaking CS5.5, and if so then what is the best procedure?'

  • Design Premium CS5 installation problem on OS 10.9.2 Mavericks.

I recently switched over to a new macbook pro and tried migrating everying over with the Apple migration manager.  While Photoshop and other products seemed to move over just fine, InDesign continued crashing everytime I tried to open.  I tried the suggestions to fix this with no luck.
I have now uninstalled Design Premium CS5 and then downloaded it from: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-product-downloads.html
However, when I try to open the dmg file, which was saved to my desktop, I get an error message: "The following disk images couldn't be opened: DesignPremium_CS5_L  image not recognized."
How do I get my CS5 to install on my new computer?!  Operating system is OS 10.9.2.
I have my serial number, but it doesn't help me if I can't get the download to install on my machine...

    Hi Suzsav,

  • Error code 16- I re-installed Design Premium CS5.5 with no luck

    Hello,
I can no longer open any of my Adobe applications. I am getting an error 16 message that reads "configuration error." I have uninstalled and re-installed the full Adobe Design Premium CS5.5 with no luck. When I re-instlled it I also got an error 213:5 message about resetting the SLStore and the Adobe folder.
    Nothing works.

Unfortunately that didn't work. After pasting the command in the window I
    got this:
sudo: /private/etc/sudoers is mode 0644, should be 0440
sudo: no valid sudoers sources found, quitting
    MAC17-2:~ MAC1$
    Any suggestions??

  • When/how do i download the CS6 upgrade promised by deal on Creative Suite Design Premium CS5.5?

    Hello
I purchased from Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium CS5.5 Student Edition. The deal Adobe had promised was a free upgrade to CS6 as soon as it became available to do so, if i bought the package before a stated date, i did so and installed it. My question is how (or when) do i access my free download of CS6 versions of the software contained within Creative Suite Design Premium CS5.5. My pruchase of the product hinged on this promised free upgrade so it is very important to me to find out how/when i can expect the download.
    yours sincerely
    Edward Dillon

If you purchased CS5.5 within the offer period then you might have already been upgraded to CS6. However, you don't have to worry at all.

  • Can I reinstall Adobe Design Premium cs5.5 Student and Teacher edition onto another computer?

Can I reinstall (deactivate on old computer and activate on new computer) Adobe Design Premium cs5.5 Student and Teacher edition onto another computer? If this is possible would I have to prove that I am a student again, send you the documents etc?

Can I reinstall (deactivate on old computer and activate on new computer) Adobe Design Premium cs5.5 Student and Teacher edition onto another computer?
    Yes.
If this is possible would I have to prove that I am a student again, send you the documents etc?
You have a permanent serial number from when you did this the first time and that is all that is required.

  • Can Adobe Design Premium CS5 be installed on Windows 8?

I have Adobe Design Premium CS5 (purchased on Education discount) installed on two laptops, one of which is now dying. I need to get the CS5 onto my new laptop, which has Windows 8.
    1. Does CS5 work with Windows 8?
    2. What do I need to do? Do I need to uninstal CS5 from the old laptop first? (not sure it will work, as sometimes it doens't even start)
    3.  Do I use this place to download CS5 https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install.html? Will I be asked for the serial number and that's it? Or is there anything else I need to do?
    Thank you very much!

Thank you for your reply. However, I still have problems.
I followed the 'very important instructions' that you sent the link for; all fine up to the point of trying to download. I tried first using the link http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html and clicked on Download Now under the table of direct downloads - it installed the InstalConverter.exe fine. Then I tried to download File 1 and File 2 of CS5 Design Premium from the table but I am getting the following message for both:
ACCESS DENIED. You don't have permission to access "http://trials2.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/MDIA/CS5/win32/DesignPremium_CS5_LS1.exe?" on this server.
Could this be because the 2 licences have been already used?  (However, it might have done something, as I found an Adobe folder in my Program files containing Flash Player; unfortunately it doesn't seem to work so it probably is not in fact installed)
I tried to deactivate the Adobe CS5 on my old laptop, as suggested but not sure how to do it for the whole CS5 package. Do I have to deactivate every CS5 component separately?
I tried the download also via the other website - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-product-downloads.html. The download of the zip file (file 1) got stuck about 75% through, giving a message that the zip file can't be opened...
    Please help!!
    Thank you.

  • Help upgrading to CS6 from Adobe Design Premium CS5

I have Adobe Design Premium CS5. Is there a way to upgrade to CS6 online? Does anything need to be purchased to do this?

Yes, you need to purchase CS6 as an upgrade version (upgrades are not the same thing as updates).

  • Hello, I have purchased Adobe Design Premium CS5 with Acrobat Professional 9.0 with Win License in 2010.  Same computer, doesn't work any more?

Hello, I have purchased Adobe Design Premium CS5 with Acrobat Professional 9.0 with Win License in 2010. Last month, the software is deactivated and asked me to reinstall it, however, the serial number I have doesn't work anymore. The computer is still the same, operation system is also the same. Something must be wrong with ADOBE. Can you help to resolve? Or direct me to a right person and number? Thanks!

I tried, the Design CS5 worked that way, but not the acrobat pro. 9.0. I will update with what I was suggested to download again from Adobe volume licensing site. Since my computer is at my work. This is the site I was referred to:  Adobe Licensing Website | Serial numbers | Orders | Accounts
