Design Premium CS5 incremental upgrade

I really don't want CC.  Is it possible to upgrade my CS5 to CS 5.5 only?  I previously have used Design Premium CS5 suite.

Hi 2000Tele,
Unfortunately we do not have any option to upgrade to CS5.5. However you may upgrade to CC Team with special offer pricing. Please check your eligibility by clicking on the link provided: https://creative.adobe.com/join/team_offer .
If you wish to purchase CS5.5 then I would suggest to check with your local Adobe reseller.

  • Installing Design Premium CS5.5 Upgrade: What to do with CS5?

I purchased the Win Design Premium CS5.5 Upgrade, installed it, and all seems fine... Except:
Now I have both CS5 and CS5.5 installed.
It was implied I needed to have CS5 installed to install the upgrade to CS5.5, but I sure don't want both.
    Question:
If I uninstall CS5 - will it break CS5.5 (like one of the upgrades did a few years ago)?
Should I close my eyes and click Uninstall and hope for the best?
I've not found any docs or white papers referring to this.
[update: I did find a couple of selected forum posts referring to using the Cleaner Tool,
but I'm still a little confused - do I uninstall CS5, then run cleaner? Seems awkward.]
Thanks in advance for any feedback
    system --->  Win7Pro64

It was implied by the folks @ Adobe when I ordered my upgrade (DVD). If I uninstalled CS5 first then my extensions would not get migrated and my settings would not get imported (e.g. dreamweaver sites, etc).
4 gig here, another 8 gig there * many years of upgrades = lots of disk space, and yes, size does matter.
Were you thinking of offering some revelant advice to my legitimate query, or are you just pumping up those 19,000+ posting stats? My refined question for the community professionals is: 'Can I uninstall CS5 without breaking CS5.5, and if so then what is the best procedure?'

  • Design Premium CS5.5 upgrade

I have Design Premium CS5.5 and plan to upgrade to CS6.
May I still use CS5.5 on my laptop?

I thought as much, but I can't find it documented anywhere. I actually have three places I would like Design Premium on. I have a Imac, a laptop and my grandson has his Imac.
I was hoping that by having both CS5.5 and CS6, I might make this happen.

  • When/how do i download the CS6 upgrade promised by deal on Creative Suite Design Premium CS5.5?

    Hello
I purchased from Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium CS5.5 Student Edition. The deal Adobe had promised was a free upgrade to CS6 as soon as it became available to do so, if i bought the package before a stated date, i did so and installed it. My question is how (or when) do i access my free download of CS6 versions of the software contained within Creative Suite Design Premium CS5.5. My pruchase of the product hinged on this promised free upgrade so it is very important to me to find out how/when i can expect the download.
    yours sincerely
    Edward Dillon

If you purchased CS5.5 within the offer period then you might have already been upgraded to CS6. However, you don't have to worry at all.

  • Help upgrading to CS6 from Adobe Design Premium CS5

I have Adobe Design Premium CS5. Is there a way to upgrade to CS6 online? Does anything need to be purchased to do this?

Yes, you need to purchase CS6 as an upgrade version (upgrades are not the same thing as updates).

  • Adobe Design Premium CS5 Upgrade

    Hello
I have been asked to Upgrade one of the Products In Adobe Design Premium and would like to know if this can be done without affecting the other products.
I have been asked to install InDesign CS6 upgrade for this product.
How will this affect the other Design Premium CS5 Suite products or is it best to upgrade the whole Suite to CS6.
    Thank You for any help.
    Dave

I have been asked to Upgrade one of the Products In Adobe Design Premium and would like to know if this can be done without affecting the other products.
I have been asked to install InDesign CS6 upgrade for this product.
    Cannot be done.

Am I eligible for upgrade pricing from an earlier Creative Suite edition to an individual CS component?
No. Adobe does not offer upgrade pricing for customers wishing to move from a suite edition to an individual CS component. For complete upgrade information for the product you are interested in, consult the upgrade eligibility chart on that product's buying guide page.
If all you want is InDesign CS6 then you can either
Pay full price for standalone InDesign CS6
Take out a Single App subscription for the Cloud version of InDesign CS6 alone

  • Would you upgrade from Design Premium CS5 to CS5.5?

I am always weary of upgrading to mid-year releases like this because usually there are more headaches than benefits.  Would I be missing out on a lot of functionality by not upgrading from Design Premium CS5 to CS5.5?   I primarily use Indesign to lay-out interactive digital publications.  Any advice or words of wisdom would be appreciated!
    Cheers!
    Steve

If you're working with epubs, definitely upgrade!  Here's an article that lists the new features.

  • Design Premium CS5.5 and plan to upgrade to CS6

I have Design Premium CS5.5 and plan to upgrade to CS6.
May I still use CS5.5 on my laptop?

doctordun is talking about an UPGRADE to CS6.
That's clear from the first post. I'm am too.
The licensing system for CS6 is different than for previous versions, as will be made clear in the forthcoming announcement,
I'll await the changes in CS6 with interest.
I know about the forthcoming change to one-version-back for upgrades but I'm not aware of any EULA changes yet.
"Once I've upgraded, can I use, sell, or transfer the previous versions of the software?
No. Purchasing an upgrade to your product extends your existing license to cover the new version of Adobe software. It does not provide you with two separate licenses for the old version and the new version" [FAQ]
From clause 5 of the EULA
    http://www.adobe.com/products/eulas/pdfs/Gen_WWCombined-20110105_1512.pdf
    5. Updates
If the Software is an Update to a prior version of Adobe software (the "Prior Version"), the following apply:
Your use of this Update is conditional upon your retention of the Prior Version. Therefore, if you validly transfer this Update pursuant to Section 4.6, you must transfer the Prior Verision along with it. If you wish to use this Update in addition to the Prior Version, you may only do so on the same Computer on which you have installed and are using the Prior Version...."
If this wording remains unchanged for the CS6 EULA, that tells me that it's OK to have CS5.5 and the CS6 upgrade installed on two computers and use both CS5.5 and CS6 on each computer.
I do so daily with CS4 and CS5.
Given the above from the EULA, it seems that the FAQ should remove the word "use" from the question.

  • I have Design Premium CS5, but can I upgrade Photoshop ONLY to CS6?

Like I stated, I have Adobe Design Premium CS5. I don't use the other programs as often as I use Photoshop, so is it possible for me to upgrade Photoshop only to CS6? Or do I have to purchase Design Premium CS6 in order to upgrade?
    Thank you for your time!

NO. Suites can only be upgraded to suites. A standalone upgrade would simply not accept the serial number.

  • Upgrade Design Premium CS5 zu Mastercollection

    Hallo zusammen.

  • Selectively remove Design Premium CS5 apps?

    Hello
I just upgraded to CS6 Design / Web Premium. I have Design Premium CS5 installed too. I would like to remove all of the DP CS5 programs except Photoshop CS5. How best to do this? I'm thinking probably uninstalling everything CS5 and then reinstall just PS CS5, although that would be a bit of a pain considering my actions, workspace and all is just the way I like it for now...

    Yes.
although that would be a bit of a pain considering my actions, workspace and all is just the way I like it for now...
Not at all. The installer/ uninstaller only removes Adobe files and data, not user configuration.

  • Adobe Design Premium CS5 Plug-Ins

My company bought Adobe Design Premium CS5 for me, but when I try to use the software I get an error that says the program can't be opened because I need to upgrade the plug-ins to the latest versions or upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Indesign.  How do I go about doing this?  Thanks in advance.

Reinstall the program with sufficient user privileges/ file permissions. It is not installed correctly.

  • Design Premium CS5 installation problem on OS 10.9.2 Mavericks.

I recently switched over to a new macbook pro and tried migrating everying over with the Apple migration manager.  While Photoshop and other products seemed to move over just fine, InDesign continued crashing everytime I tried to open.  I tried the suggestions to fix this with no luck.
I have now uninstalled Design Premium CS5 and then downloaded it from: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-product-downloads.html
However, when I try to open the dmg file, which was saved to my desktop, I get an error message: "The following disk images couldn't be opened: DesignPremium_CS5_L  image not recognized."
How do I get my CS5 to install on my new computer?!  Operating system is OS 10.9.2.
I have my serial number, but it doesn't help me if I can't get the download to install on my machine...

    Hi Suzsav,
Design Premium CS5 is not Compatible with Mac OS 10.9.2
Please see the system requirement for CS5 in the below mentioned link.
