Design Studio - Mobile devices compatibilty

Hi Friends,
I need to deploy WEBIreports and Dashboards in mobile devices of different OS like IOS/Android/Windows. How far is it possible to fulfull this requirement through design studio. BO Ver - 4.1
Thanks,
Gaurav

I am not sure why you want to use Design Studio to deploy Web Intelligence/Dashboards through Mobile
You could use SAP BusinessObjects Mobile to deploy Web Intelligence/Dashboards through iOS/Androids

  • Adobe Muse and Designing For Mobil Devices

What is the best apporach after you desined a desktop computer and now you want to design or copy for a mobile device that is now built in Adobe Muse?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
You can create mobile and tablet version of your site in Muse with just a click. Simply click the "Mobile or Tablet" button at the top and Muse will create the mobile or tablet layout of your site. • Design for mobile devices

Hi all, first time here, please be gentle with me!
So, I've got a site I designed and maintain for a client and
he recently had an enquiry asking if the thing could be viewed on
an O2 PDA (UK mobile phone company branded PDA). He, of course,
asked me, and I said I'll find out.
Currently I doubt the site will work - it's designed for the
web, needs (mostly) a mouse to navigate and is 800px wide so I
can't see any way it'd work on a phone! So I'm guessing I'd need to
do a WML version ... right? Or is there an easy way to make an XML
    site work on mobile devices?
Secondly would mobile devices work with the PHP script that
handles a members only area and subscription packages? Currently 3
pages of the site are protected using PHPGuardDog (soon to be
replaced) which manages user accounts and links them to PayPal
subscriptions. So to get to those pages a user has to have an
active, paid up, account and then enter their username and
password. Would that work on a mobile device?
Thanks - and if these are dumb questions, sorry, I'll go
    hide!

I have checked the links in Muse and they are pointing where they should....what gives? As for the menus - those are automatically connected to the pages, right??? This is not good. Not at all. • What is the correct Page Width for Mobile Device???

    Hi All
Just have a question that "What is the correct Page Width for Mobile Device???"
Is the Default 380px width is right? or 320px?
Because the average smartphone is having resolution is 320X480 pixels...
also in this video http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/adobe-muse-designing-for-mobile-devices/ Dani Beaumont created the Mobile version website in 320px width (If you watch the video carefully you can notice the page width is 320px)
And if the default page width 380px taken, will it be displayed correctly on every smart phone (average & high end)?
please reply if you have any suggestions

HI. I have designed a mobile web site that is currently 450pixels wide. This is the first one I have done. When it displays on some mobile phones, the width of the entire page is scaled down and it only fills about 1/2 of the width of the mobile phone with a whole pile of mrgin to the right. Is this because I should have designed it to be 380 pixes wide or have I done something else wrong. The test site is at:

Please help me if you can. Thank you.

    Hi GK,
Creating the dashboard which is mobile compatible is very much possible without using design studio. But if your looking for the futuristic then the answer is may be. SAP says that "Design Studio is the future of dashboarding for SAP". Please find the below links to get some fair idea on this.

  • Mobile Portal and Design Studio

Is it correct to assume that a Design Studio application could be presented on a mobile device using only the Mobile EP and the BW, without the need for the BO  BI 4 platform?

Portal is a broader term which is a container of all the assets and pages and is a web portal.
Sitestudio is a tool provided by WC Content which is used to create Content Presenter Templates. These templates consists of region and element definitions which are used as a template to have data in them.
    Thanks

  • Design Studio 1.3 applications shows only white screen on Mobile BI App (iPad)

    Hello Design Studio friends,
after upgrading or BI platform (4.1) Design Studio Add-On from version 1.2 to 1.3 we could no errors, everything works fine. But now we have the issue, that all of our Design Studio Applications do not work on iPad.
All mobile Applications are listed correctly in the overview in the Mobile BI App. But after starting one application the loading screen is running and after loading only a white screen is displayed. No data, no components, no variables screen etc.
Do you have any idea about the reason of our problem?
Here some additonal information, what we have done:
After upgrade we restartet the BIP and checked that all services are running.
We saved new Design Studio 1.3 Applications on BIP.
We run the Design Studio Applications local (everything works) over BIP on Desktop clients (everything workds), via Mobile BI App (iPad iOS7, newest iOS Version and newest App version) (only white screens are shown).
We deleted all metadata on iPad and reconnected to our BIP.
Our DataSources, integrated in the Design Studio 1.3 applications, are based on SAP BW Queries of a BW 7.4 system.
Many thanks for help and your support.
    Kind regards
    Patrick

    Hi Tammy,
I deleted the mobile BI App from my iPad and installed it again (newest version).
No changes, after loading the Design Studio Application only a white screen is shown.
I cannot find a relevant Part in the App protocol (Debug Mode).
    Thanks for your support.

  • Problems with changings within Design Studio Report published on BI Mobile App

    Hello BI Mobile Experts,
At the moment we are setting up a prototyp for BI Mobile reporting with SAP Business Objects Mobile and the BI Mobile App.
We created a report with Design Studio and published this report without problems within the Mobile Category. This Report was displayed correctly on iPads we are working with.
This week we made some changings within the report (new Crosstab, changings within css file). Unfortunatelly this changings were not displayed within the Mobile App. When we run the report local on the desktop within Design Studio everything works fine and is displayed correctly. It seems like the iPad is caching the report and doesn't get the new definitions, because after uninstalling the complete app from the iPad and installing it again, the report is displayed correctly.
Does anybody of you have same issues and is knowing how to solve that?
    Thank you and best regards,
    Gerardo

    Hi Emre
I recall when I installed DS on our BI 4.1 SP2 system, the Analysis Application Service is not added to the Adaptive Processing Server (APS) automatically, I had to manually include the service into the APS for it to work correctly.
To make the dashboards visible to the BI Mobile applications, you must assign the category "Mobile" to the dashboards.
    Regards
    Derek

  • Design Studio 1.3 applications, scroll not working Mobile BI App (iPhone)

    Hi,
We just upgraded from design studio 1.2. to 1.3
We have a mobile application published to iPhone in which some of the data is shown only when you scroll down.
After the upgrade the scroll down is not working.
Did any of you have the same issue? Did you find any solution?
    Kind Regards
    Alon Kanat

    Hello Alon,
Did you also download and install the hotfix for Design Studio that SAP released on July 4th?  See http://scn.sap.com/message/15191508#15191508
Please check and if not, install the hotfix and try again

  • Design Studio working for ipad, iphone, and desktop

    Hello All,
I'm new to the SAP design studio world. My first task that has been assigned to me is to see what is the capability of Design Studio to have a singular file and have the CSS be reflective of Iphone,Ipad and Desktop.
    1) Is this even possible? There is very limited document out there discussing in depth about design studio
    2) If possible what has to be done to be able to get something like this to work?
    3) I guess if all is good how maintainable is something like this.
I understand design studio is still pretty new and a lot of people are still using Dashboard Design, but any insight on this would be very helpful.
    Thanks,
    Scottie

    Hi Scottie,
in addition to the valid information from Tammy, you cna refer to the PAM for supported devices. in Mobile area thesupported way is to use SAP BI Mobile as entry point.
to your question, you can create the application once and then open on desktop or iPad. I would be carefully with iPhone, as this is small device and not all components are supported (see documentation).
Also, it is today a bit tricky to change the CSS based on the device - there will be a better way in 1.4 release as there it will be possible to get the client header sring in BIAL scripts. and by that you can assign different CSS classes to the components.
    welcome to Design Studio!
    Regards, Karol

  • BW Integrated Planning in Design Studio 1.3

    Hello experts,
This is regarding one of the newest features in the latest 1.3 release of Design Studio i.e BW integrated planning. i was going through the admin guide and i found the following sentence which suggests to me that planning applications are not mobile yet. Can anyone please shed some light on this? "With SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio you can create desktop browser applications for planning business data" .
This suggests that the planning applications work only on desktop browser. With out current client, What we are trying to achieve is , try to somehow create an approval process with design studio as user interface. for example: user clicks on an approve button  which writes back data and approved a request.
    Regards,
    Rahul

    Hi Madireddy,
there is currently no official Crosstab support for planning on mobile devices yet.

  • Design Studio 1.3 as local client - application on iPad?

    Hi,
I have installed Design Studio 1.3 SP0 as a local client on my PC. I'm trying to get my DS apps onto my iPad but have so far failed.
I have allowed external access to the embedded web server (DS: Tools --> Preferences).
As far as I understand this issue, it should then be sufficient to click on "Send to Mobile Device using QR code", scan the code with my iPad and launch the URL in Safari.
Unfortunately, this is not what happens. What happens is: Safari attempts to connect for about a minute and then displays this error message: "Safari could not open the page because the serve stopped responding". I tried the identical app on my android mobile phone and got a slightly different message "Web page not available".
Am I overlooking some simple step? I believe I managed to do this some months ago using DS 1.2. But of course, I cannot verify that now.
Bonus question: Does drag and drop work with DS apps on an iPad.
    Cheers
    Martin

    I think so too.
So much is still missing that has long been available in WAD or Xcelsius/ Dashboard. And it's still a bit buggy. I found I could avoid a lot of error messages if I changed the Windows language/ region settings to English.
I think it is still too early to advise clients to move to DS. In my experience, much of SAP's software got really good after version 3.0, e.g. SAP BW.

  • Does CS5 have tools for creating websites for mobile devices?

Does DW CS5 have any built in tools for creating web pages for mobile devices, iPads, iPhones, etc?
    Thanks.

This will go back to your other post about the CSS tables, it depends on how much you know.  CSS3 is a style language and while support is growing in Dreamweaver and within browsers it is taking some time so the more you understand the code the better off you will be.  With regards to HTML5 animations, you will find that no tool out there can do this easily outside of some Apple developer tools and if you are serious about programming to work with the iPhone/iPad you will want to sign up (registration is free) and download their developer tools.  Adobe has mentioned making some strides and trying to use their existing tools (ie: Flash) to help transition to HTML5 animations from Flash and Illustrator has also gained some HTML5 vector tools to help out.
To find out more about what Adobe is doing for HTML5 there was a post made on John Nack's blog not too long ago that you might want to read over (and follow the links).
    http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2010/11/so-what-has-adobe-actually-done-for-html5-lately.html
Dreamweaver is not going to hand you everything though.  To get the most out of it you have to put something into it.  It is easily the most advanced tool in the PHP and ColdFusion realms (ASP/.NET goes to Visual Studio).  But in order to do more and customize things to your needs, understanding the code is a must in the world of web design.
