Is there any documentation available for the list of SAP BO Design Studio Apps (also on how to install/integrate) that comes along with HANA Live Package

On BW it does, but I'm afraid on Hana not. But if it is the same view (copied view, it does)
. So workarounds:
put everything in one view (if this is possible and is not influencing the perfomancy)
or use scripting:
        Global script varibale
             var_vendor string false false
        on startup
             var_vendor=DS_1.getVariableValueExt("HANA_VARIABLE_VENDOR");
             APPLICATION.doBackgroundProcessing();
        on background
             DS_3.setFilterExt("Vendor", var_vendor);

Normal to have "Final Cut Studio - Audio Content 1" disc in package?

I am trying to install a newly purchased Logic Studio 9 and the installation is not going well; it is asking me for an "Additional Content" disc...but I don't have such a disk in the box...I do have a Final Cut Studio Audio Content 1 disk though...is this some kind of mistake and it shipped with the wrong disks?

Additional Content and FCS Audio Content are not the same
If the copy of Logic Studio you bought shipped with a wrong disc you need to return it for a replacement.

How to access Fiori App Content (consuming HANA Live models) directly from XS in HANA?!

Hi,
Can someone please provide more information on how to use the Fiori Content directly on HANA?!
Is there any Delivery unit which bundles the Fiori content, importing and deploying of which allows to create a Fiori App?! If no,
Then could you please provide the guidelines for adding ABAP front end server on HANA to run the UI part?!
And for the latter case, will the requirement of the UI be rendered by ABAP front end server with the XSODATA service provided by XS layer and the business logic computation taken care by Indexserver?!

Login Issues to SAP HANA from Design Studio

Hello All ,
I am pretty newbie here so the question might seem a bit elementary .We are trying to connect to our SAP HANA environment from Design studio .When we are pinging the XSEngine URL it is responding properly .But when we are trying to connect from Design Studio the following error occurs .
Here is the landscape we have designed so far :
HANA Server is installed .
BOXI 4.1 SP 5 server is installed .
HANA and BO servers are communicating through SSL .
Design Studio Add-on is installed on BO server .
When we tried to explore the path using HANA explorer we found the path mentioned in the error screen does not exist .
What we need to do to overcome this error ?

As mentioned by Karol, you have to deploy the DS-HANA Addon on your HANA System.

I guess this is the same question as the one about the SD content, so my answer is the same:
if you have access to the HANA Live RDS documentation which comes as part of the so called Step-by-Step Guide you can find a document RDS_SHL_HANA10V5_Technical_Content_Mapping_EN_XX.xls in the folder structure. To get to this file you need to drill down this path:..RDS SBS Guides\HANA Live\V5\Serv_Enabled\RDS
In that file you find all the tables used in all the RDS content.

Abap users autorization for BO BI reports (made in Design Studio) on HANA data

Hello!
We are bit new to BO BI and Design Studio. Cauld you help us?
BO BI reports must represent SAP HANA data.
We have a lot of users in ERP with their roles.
We need accordingly restrict users access to certain values for group of users in given Data Source based on HANA Analytic or Calculation View.
For example, report must display only “A” Plant data for first group of users, for second group – only “B” Plant data.
Where should we mantain users (and give them roles) and what authorization use?
The best way for mantaining users is CUA on ERP for us.
BO BI supports SAP authorization and role mapping with it's own user groups with no probler.
But what about HANA? We didn't find any positive information about roles mapping and authorization in HANA.
It looks like we need to create all users and give them roles in HANA... Is it really so? How to synchronize HANA users and their authorization with ERP after this...

Limitations while conected HANA universe to design studio

Hi All,
Previously i have created number of dashboard reports in Design Studio using BEx quires. Recently we moved to HANA database. From HANA we have universe connected to Design studio. Here we are facing some problems. It is not accepting huge data. when i tried to see the data in edit initial view, it is showing "data is too large ". looking to know about if any limitations and performance tuning while using HANA universe to Design Studio.

It says "Maximum Result Set The result set has a fixed limit of 5000 rows or 50000 data cells. If either limit is exceeded, no data is displayed"

Conditions in Design Studio based on Hana

Hi,
I would like to create a Top 5 of Open Invoices, for example in my design studio (release 1.3) dashboard. But note that my datasource is Hana. Is this possible, what is the best wat to tackle this? Thanks for helping.

HANA Live Authorization Assistant is not able maintain Analytics metadata with HANA Studio for SP9

Experts,
With HANA studio SPS9 upgrade, I can no longer see the option to maintain analytics metadata using Authorization Assistant tool for HANA Live views. Has anyone else encountered similar issue after the upgrade?

Design Studio 1.2 SDK - How can standard UI5 themes be loaded for custom components?

The SAPUI5 library that is embedded in the Design Studio framework includes standard themes such as the Blue Crystal theme. When developing UI5-based SDK components with DS 1.2 SP00, I was able to successfully load the built-in Blue Crystal theme by simply including the following statement in the component.js file:
sap.ui.getCore().applyTheme("sap_bluecrystal");
However, as of DS 1.2 SP01 this approach no longer seems to work. I don't receive any error messages either. The theme simply doesn't load like it used to or sometimes might just load partially.
The only difference I can see between SP00 and SP01 in terms of the UI5 framework is that it has been upgraded from version 1.12.7 to 1.14.6 but this shouldn't impact the validity of the above statement.
I'd appreciate it if anyone has any ideas about why the applyTheme() method no longer works and how this issue might be fixed.
Of course there is the workaround of manually including the theme files with a <cssInclude> tag in the contribution.xml file but this seems like a waste of resources given that technically, the theme is already included in the Design Studio framework.

I developed a HANA stored procedure, I want to implement this procedure in SAP Design Studio. following scenario:
if Button Click, the Procedure is executed and the result of this Procedure is shown in a crosstab.
I can maybe help someone, maybe someone has tried something similar.

I developed in Hana a calculation view with script, cfr stored procedure, this view I can use as a datasource in my SAP Design Studio. The loading of your datasource can be triggered by your button: set datasours load in script true, radiobutton event: DS_1.loaddatasource ();
Is this work around okay for you.

Design Studio on HANA - HCP or AWS?

Hello community,
Has anyone had experience with hosting Design Studio on an XS engine in HCP?
We are looking to host Design studio on HANA but are not sure which solution to pick to host it.
This is our scenario:
Data source: XML files through an external webservice, weekly upload, less that 1GB of data
ETL Tool: Data services
DB: HANA
Reporting tool: Design Studio on HANA
Display: External website connecting to Design Studio Dashboard and displaying it within an iframe.
The solution will be public facing and therefore needs to be in a productive environment.
From what I have read, it seems possible on AWS. However I am not sure if it is possible with HCP.
Any experience on that?

My only experience with this is on AWS - and looking at the PAM https://service.sap.com/~sapidb/012002523100018972812014E I would lean towards AWS; this is what we used during the OpenSAP course with SAP's Jim Rapp

Sample HANA Live content to install

I don't have authorization to download HANA Live content from Market place. But i want to see the behavior of HANA LIVE content by importing the HANA LIVE content in my training server.
so i request you to please let me know the place where i can get some HANA live content,so that i can download the same and import into my training system to understand the behavior of HANA live content.
As per my understanding as below
RDS --> It is a predefined solution given by SAP which includes the complete process to follow document ,modelling objects(ie All types of views) , sample reports, and configuration documents. I mean the BODS configuration for data uploading, BOBI configuration for reporting and sample models are available which are useful to given the solution for any specific business process. Here we can modify/Alter the views/reports as per the requirement.
HANA Live --> It is also a predefined solution given by SAP. Here we will get only calculation views which are associated with tables. We can modify these calculation views also as per the business requirement right. but there we will not get any others components like BODS/BOBI tools and only calculation views are available.
Please correct me if i am wrong here.

SAP Design Studio ODBC Driver Not Found error while creating HANA connection.

While creating SAP HANA ODBC connection in Design Studio via Tools > Preference > Application Design > Backend Connection. I am getting error ODBC Driver Not Found. Error screen shot is attached.
My Design Studio version is 1.3 win 32 bit
My OS Win 7 64 bit
I have installed both HANA client 32 bit and 64 bit.
I have tried creating DSN ODBC connection via "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe" and via Control Panel > Administrative tools > Data Sources(ODBC). But it does not detect it either.
I am not sure what needs to change to let Design Studio know which HANA client driver to use.
Please help!.

Accessing a SAP BW table data to display content in Design Studio Application

I am working on a Design Studio application that contains a link to all the reports for different business users in an organization. The end user should see the links to only those reports he/ she has access to. This access rights are stored in a SAP BW table. I want to pull that data from SAP BW table to my application so that I can implement a layer of security in my application.
1) What would be a good idea to get SAP BW table data in a design studio application.(This data is not used to populate my application, but will be used to check access rights for a user who is going to open this application).
2) What will be a good option for deployment of this application ? On SAP Netweaver platform or on SAP BI Platform

Let me present my issue in a more clear format,
I have a web template launch page that was created using BW 3.5. This web template has only one web item and that is 'role menu'. This role menu will display all the available list of web templates for each user as per the access rights of each user. Hence this web template was the only door for my end users to access BEx reports.
While we were migrating to 7.x we found that there were no equivalent item available in 7x version. As a workaround, I migrated all the queries and web templates from 3.5 to 7x but I didn't migrate the door. I asked my Basis team to replace the connection parameters for the links present in the door.
So now all my users still use the 3.x web template but when they click on items in the list, they will be accessing reports that are of 7x version.
Now my IT is planning to upgrade IE and knowing that bex 3.5 tools are not compatible with BW 7.4. This sounds like the role menu won't work at all with 7.4.
I started exploring Design Studio to search for an alternative for Role Menu component. I created an application using HTML template in Design Studio. Now I am looking for different approaches to implement the same functionality in Design Studio. Can you please provide some inputs on this scenario.
