I actually went thru the steps mentioned to ashwini for same prob. I have the path properly configured and i restarted BAM but when i click on update same error as usual i'm getting.

2) calling extenal webservice has a pre-requisite that orderbooking needs to be completed , as per that i deployed BAM orderbook given in samples but i'm not able to get the wsdl file. Can i get help on this issue also.

(a): Yes i did restart all Bam components and also checked the OC4j.jar path. All are correct. But still i do get same error , when i update grid shows number of rows and also displays column name, but no data can be found in rows. Can you pls guide me to resolve this issue.
(b): Do i need to have SOA suite and BAM on same machine to call webservice as it has to create dataobject in BAM, when Bpel is getting deployed. Are u referring to BAMOrderBooking available under "BPEL-BAM-sensor" present under samples folder. I'm confused as there are many orderbooking samples.If you're referring to BAMOrderBooking, i have deployed it succesfully but not able to get the wsdl file.
Kindly reply for this , as which orderbooking tutorial if u mention it will give me clear picture in performing my next steps.

I am learning Design Studio SDK using the Developer Guide Tutorial available in help.sap.com. I am trying to deploy the sample SDK component.
While I try to open Design Studio application from Eclipse, it throws below errors. Run As -> Eclipse Application.

It looks to me as if the JAVA Home Variable is not set?
To get to this in Windows 7 you need to right click on Computer and select properties
Then click Advanced System Settings, Then Click Environment Variables button,
Have you got a JAVA_HOME Variable as per the attached screenshot? Please not this need to point to the Java folder on your PC

Design studio opening error

I have installed Design studio 1.2 SP1 recently, created just two applications. Yesterday I tried to open my already created applications and tried to cretae new application, but when I open any application I am getting blank page...there is no layout for the application....Pls refer my attached screen shot. I went through the post, it is purely related to issue with portal. But my issue is different than above post. In clear, two days back I have created a application in design studio named "YTEST_REPORTDEMO_DS1". I am trying to open this application today. When I open this application I am not seeing anything in the design studio. Since the application layout is not visible I am unable to edit the application "YTEST_REPORTDEMO_DS1" and modify it. Pls refer below screen shot
Normally when you open any application you can see components, Outline, application canvas, properties. But here I am seeing nothing. But when execute this " YTEST_REPORTDEMO_DS1" locally (green button) I am seeing the results. Pls refer below screen shot.
So simply my application layout(even for new one also) is not visible in design studio tool. But I can able to execute it and see the results.

How to enable Comment functionality in Design Studio

Hi Experts,
How can we enable comment functionality in Design studio? This is important for users:
a) To enter comments in the application
b) To see the comments after reopening the application again. This means, it needs to be stored somewhere.
This application is built on top of a BEx Query.

Looking at Figure 7 here Lumira and Design Studio Updates Roadmap from ASUG Annual Conference - Part 2 it is not going to be built in Design Studio
So my opinion only here - either you buy CubeServ add-on or you build SDK yourself. As an accountant I would do cost-benefit - how long (cost) would it take for someone other than CubeServ to do it versus buying from CubeServ.
Maybe others have ideas?

Error while Updating Enterprise Link Plan in Design Studio

I am getting one Error while Creating Enterprise Link Plan in Design Studio of BAM and Failed to Create the Plan.

Setup:
Integration between Oracle EBS 11.5.10 and Oracle BAM 10.1.3.
I am trying to get the Raw Data and sending over to the Enterprise Link Plan.
1. Created bam_ttq AQ and bam_ttq_tab.
2. Configured all of the startup parameters required for Enterprise Message Source Type (Oracle (AS JMS and OJMS)) in the Administrator of BAM.
3. Configured the Oracle (AS JMS and OJMS) with the following values in the Enterprise Message Sources in the Architect of BAM.
Initial Context Factory : com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory.
JNDI Service Provider URL : opmn:ormi://inaportal.inatech.com:6004:home.
TopicConnectionFactory Name : java:comp/resource/BAMTTT/TopicConnectionFactories/bam_ttq_tab.
Topic Name : java:comp/resource/BAMTTT/Topics/bam_ttq.
JMS Message Type : Text Message.
Durable Subscriber Name (Optional) : Bamclient.
Message Selector (Optional) :
Client ID (Optional) : ClientId.
4. Also configured the data-sources.xml and applications.xml in OC4J (10.1.2) to reference the database schema where the BAM_TTQ queue is created.
5. Modified the jndi.properties file with required properties.

Am getting this error while clicking update button in Design Studio to populate a dataobject using JMS Topic messages sent by oracle Bpel manager.

TopicConnectionFactory Name: java:comp/resource/ojms_ipl/TopicConnectionFactories/iplerror
Topic Name: java:comp/resource/ojms_ipl/Topics/iplerror
ojms_ipl refers to the datasource on our BPEL server that is defined in application.xml.
Where is the class located?

Enterprise link design studio start up error.

Hi ,
I have installed BAM on XP and working on it.
When i try opening Enterprise link design studio i am getting TNS listener error.
A tns entry is there in the tnsnames.ora file.
I was using the studio previously and was working fine.
What is going wrong.

I have reinstalled Enterprise Link and now i am able to open design studio.
But BAM user was not created during the installation i created it manually.
I created a plan when i try updating the plan i am getting the following error

Unknown Error in Design Studio

Hi Experts,
I'm still a bit new in Design Studio so I don't have much info in the area. Anyway, one of our users
have suddenly experienced getting this uknown error.
It was working a week ago and then when they updated in the BW-side. He said that they did not change anything in the BEx query level.
Rather they have added a restriction on Organisational Unit Hierarchy with a single value in the BW system.
The error that they are is:
"Uknown Error
While processing the current request, an exception occurred which could not be handled by the application or the framework.

Failed to process request. Please contact your system administrator.

Who you have any idea as to what might have caused this and what could be the possible resolution?

There is a hot fix for 1.3; it would not apply to you on 1.2 and it looks like you are on SP2 for 1.2
Could you look at this KBA http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/2011867 and see if it applies?

Unable to execute existing Design Studio applications from BI Launchpad after updating to 1.4!

Hello Experts,
We upgraded our SAP BO from 4.0 to SAP BO 4.1 SP5 and also updated our Design Studio from 1.2 directly to 1.4.
Upon testing the existing application in Design Studio it so happens that the existing application is sucessfully executed in local mode. However it does run from the BI Launchpad.
I tried creating a new application in Design Studio 1.4 whick works fine in both local and BI launchpad but my previous created application in 1.2 (now loaded in Design Studio 1.4) should also work, I don't know the reason why it dosen't work.Need help on how to proceed further.
Attached is the error which I get when ezecuting application in BI Launchpad.

Sorry none of the mentioned steps get synced with my situation since I have no problem executing new applications from BI Launchpad but only my old ones.
I read the article http://scn.sap.com/community/businessobjects-design-studio/blog/2014/11/26/ds-14-server-installation and it mentions just smooth execution of existing Design Studio application after updating to 1.4. Wish that would have been the case with me too!

try using executing with eclipse.exe -clean
or
conflict due to set of environment variable multiple times both in user & system

Design Studio Plan Update Failure

We use Design Studio Plan Bin.
But, When I try to Update Some field by using Oracle BAM Update Step, It sometimes Failed.

As I try to start Design Studio I get an error message about a shared library

Hi everybody,
I am new to this forum, and I want to use Design Studio.
I managed to install it, and when I try to start it, I get an error message saying "Failed to load the JNI library "C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win64_x64\sapjvm\bin\..\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll".
The message is a little bit confusing because there are no sub-folders in the ...\bin folder.
I found the jvm.dll file not in the ...\bin folder but on the "C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win64_x64\sapjvm\jre\bin\server" folder.

I was working on a DB and suddenly I can not see it .
I can open it and see outline , DSs properties but I can not see the preview . I get the error below.
I have no idea what happens - I get no error script problem in the DB - I dunno what it is wrong with it.
I have tried to open the RSTT trace but I see no trace with LOC_000001.

Design Studio error on IPAD - Version mismatch web tier 12.1.0.224 PJS 13.0.3.73 after upgrade from 4.0 SP7 to 4.1 SP4

Hi All,
we have BI 4.1 SP4 installed with Tomcat as our Application server.
While running the Design Studio AA application on IPAD we get the below error but other application are working fine on IPAD (WEBI, DASHBOARDS, EXPLORER)
We tried to redeploy the WAR files on Tomcat couple of time without any luck.
Request to help us in resolving this issue.
