Designer 6i gives Forms Generator warnings

Hi,
We have recently upgraded to Designer 6i from
Designer 6.0. Some of our user modified code is not generated and I'm getting the following warning from the Forms Generator:
Message
CDG-00036: Module KN_HURTIGREG: User modified logic ignored, generatable code not generated
I would very much like to know which user
modified code is being ignored. Is there a way to find out? Since the code generated from 6i differs a good deal from the code
from 6.0 it is not easy to find out manually.
Double clicking the message in the message window does not take me to piece of code that
is missing (as one could expect).
Thanks,
Haakon

Name in database is not used in the generateg code, e.g. Validation Trigger!*BTW, what is your Validation Trigger? Its text, please.
Why do you expect the name in the trigger?
Ummm... Well, the Oracle Designer Online Help states on the subject:
Name in Database:Optional, 100 characters
The name to be used by Generators instead of the table/view/materialized view name within the FROM clause of generated queries. This name is used without any user/schema prefix, regardless of preference settings (TABOWN). A suggestion list displays the Global Synonym Names for all implementations of the relation but free-format text may also be entered here.
These Generators use this property. Click for more information:
Form Web VB>
So the Name in Database is supposed to be used in queries only.
But you should see the Global variable naming convention (GLNCON) preference. It's quite intriguing.

    Using Designer 6i and Forms Generator, then Name entered in Name in Database of a Module Component Table Usage is not used in the validating code genereated. It is still the original name of the lookup table used.
    Some ideas?
    Name in Database ist used when entered in LOV Table Usage.

  • Migrating from 6i to 9i for form generating starting with designer

    I try to migrating our forms generating 5-6 years start with designer, but they are finished through form builder.
    When I tried to use migrating assistant wizard, I get
    LMDMANA.CG$WHEN_NEW_FORM_INSTANCE: The String CALL was found. If it is an occurence of the Forms Built-In, It should be replaced with CALL_FORM.
    Here is my LMDMANA.CG$WHEN_NEW_FORM_INSTANCE procedure
    /* CG$WHEN_NEW_FORM_INSTANCE */
    PROCEDURE CG$WHEN_NEW_FORM_INSTANCE IS
    BEGIN
    /* CGLY$INIT_CANVASES */
    /* Call procedure to ensure correct canvases are visible */
    BEGIN
    CGLY$CANVAS_MANAGEMENT;
    END;
    /* CGBS$STARTUP */
    /* Perform start-up processing for Block Synchronisation */
    BEGIN
    /* Set the defaults for the globals */
    :global.cg$query_mode := 'A';
    -- default_value('A', 'GLOBAL.CG$QUERY_MODE');
    /* Set the relations to the default query mode */
    CGBS$.SET_RELATIONS( :GLOBAL.CG$QUERY_MODE );
    /* Set the query mode items */
    CGBS$SET_QUERY_MODE( :GLOBAL.CG$QUERY_MODE );
    END;
    END;
    I posted it through metalink and I was told it must be regenerated through designer, and there is no way to do migration.

    Hi,
    actually you would upgrade the application sources from Forms 6i to Forms9i and then run teh Forms Migration Assistant for the clean up /this at least is my understanding after asking one of our Designer Product Managers).

  • How to generate all forms at a time in designer using form generator?

    Hi All,
    I am using designer 9.0.4.6 .
    I am having so many forms in the module ....
    So how can I generate all forms at time using form generator ?
    Thank you
    sai

    There is a batch generate option inside the menu of the Design Editor. You can't batch generate by selecting all your forms and choose generate, this will only generate one of the selected forms.

  • Forms Generator problems

    I'm trying to use form generator from Designer 6i rel 2.
    I found big problems regenerating a migrated application.
    Layout of most of my blocks is completely changed and I can't reproduce the previous behaviour.
    I found some solutions using relative tabs but may problems are still there.
    The biggest problems I've are on tab canvases :
    1 - I use the same font as before (6.0) but the generated canvases are smaller and fields don't fit in it.
    2 - The height of the tab canvases is smaller then before and form developer tries to reduce it every time I run it giging me a CDG-3484 "error"
    3 - the stacked footer disappeared (sometime totaly somtime partialy).
    Please give me any suggestion or idea.
    TIA
    Tullio

    We noticed the same thing when we started creating Headstart for Designer 6i. Some things we found:
    - We used to always leave page width/height blank to get optimal layout. Now it seems to work better if you specify a value.
    - We found that we get better results when we explicitly specify height and width on all displayed items as well. (We didn't used to ever specify a width on a date column, nor height on any column that we wanted to default to 1.)
    - Designer used to widen the page when an individual item was too wide. Now it narrows the item.
    - Designer has changed its algorithm for determining item width.
    - Designer has added new objects in its object library for Display Only (_DO) objects which affects the layout of these objects particularly.
    Of course, using Headstart we had the luxury of knowning that our object library, template form and preference settings had not changed. If you are using the Designer default object library, template and preferences, I recommend you carefully compare the old versus the new. There may be changes to these underlying objects which would of course affect your generated modules.

  • Trying to set up an out of the box SP 2010 approval workflow that doesn't generate warnings or errors

    I have a custom list for which I want an approval workflow.  There is only going to be one stop for the approval - creating an item is a request to a person for a new code to be created.
    If I do not turn on content approval, then I get the message:
    The workflow could not set content approval status. Enable content moderation for this list and run the workflow again.
    When I turn on content approval, then when the users go to the custom list to create an item, they see this message:
    Items on this list require content approval. Your submission will not appear in public views until approved by someone with proper rights.
    Surely I am missing something obvious. I just want a standard SP 2010 form without warnings to gather info from the user, then to create a workflow task that sends a person an email that they need to approve or reject the request.
    The second message is going to cause questions from the users. The person who has to approve the tasks wants to be able to see what requests are awaiting approval vs approved vs rejected.
    Is this something that is not doable in SP 2010?

    the "Approval Process" step is designed for manipulating the "Moderation Status" (Content Approval status) of a list item... What you are seeing is DESIGNED behavior.
    When Content Approval is enabled, content changes are not made public until they have been approved. The Approval workflow sends the email to a manager, who is supposed to approve or reject the change.
    If Content Approval is DISABLED, there is no point to the workflow.

  • Difference between Designer 6i and Forms 6i?

    difference between Designer 6i and Forms 6i?

    Designer 6i is more related to the development cycle of a database and the various tools that access the database(from creating the database entity relationship diagrams to creating the physical tables/ddl). Forms 6i is more geared towards data management of the database. Designer 6i has tools to help auto-generate 6i forms.

    Could you go into a little more detail on when you ran into the problem?  Things like:
    is it after you added a rule to the form?
    is it when you first try to bring up the form in an environment where you have not used Web Form Designer previously?
    is it after you added a widget to the form?
    Almost certain this won't help, but here's my blog on some common things you need to be aware of before starting to use the Web Form Designer or Process Player features in 11.1.1.7: Getting Started with Oracle BPM Composer Web Forms and Process Player | AVIO Consulting

  • Coaxing Forms Generator Into Using Frames

    I'm quickly falling in love with Designer. There is one thing I'd really like to figure out.
    Forms Builder's Layout Wizard puts a frame around the blocks it generates. The Designer's Forms Generator creates a box and a title. Forms Builder's frame objects look much nicer than Forms Generator's simple box and text object, because of the beveling and what not.
    How can I get Forms Generator to generate frames?

    You can read "Generating frames" topic in the Designer on-line help.

    I do have similar problem, I am running NT 8.05 server, and Form 6.0 client. It takes about 10-15 seconds to bring the simple form runtime up. I noticed before the runtime form comes up to the screen, my CPU usage became 100% utilised for a 2 seconds. I also use file and registry tracking utilities to monitor their behaviour but I still cannot track down what happens in between the start and the first 10 sec. Looks like it is idle doing nothing, hopefully someone may have an answers. In case, it is the hardware deficiency problem, I am currently using Celeron 466, with 384 Mb hdd on my client, same hardware configure with my NT Server 4.0 Service Pack 4. Thanks

  • Form Generator Error CGFK$QRY_

    Hello,
    I' m new using Designer i've tried to generate a module using 10g Form Generator, but i always stop at this error:
    Compiling procedure CGFK$QRY_UTILIZADOR_UTL_PER_FK...
    Compilation error on procedure CGFK$QRY_UTILIZADOR_UTL_PER_FK:

    SQL Statement ignored
    I'm using a table UTILIZADOR with a table usage PERFIS, the table UTILIZADOR have a FK for Table PERFIS.
    Can anyone help me???

    You are probably using not the right user (or the necessary rights) when compiling the form. When you start Generating, click Options, click Compile tab and enter the connect string of the shema owner (or a user that has select rights on all the tables in the schema). If you start Forms Builder with the generated form and log in with the right user you should be able to compile the form also (with the user - and rights - you are currently using you'll get the same error in Forms Builder).

  • Modifying Form Generator code groups

    Does anyone know if it is possible to override the code that the forms generator uses for generated code groups (eg CGCD$QRY_SERVER_VER) at one single place instead of overriding the event code segments for every Forms Module in the Design Editor.
    Kind regards Gerrit Bouhuis.

    Hi Mandy,
    I'm not sure what you mean bij 'form generator code groups'. Do you perhaps mean the logic definitions that appear when you add an event to a form? (Module definition -> application logic -> events -> create event)
    Kind regards,
    Ronald

    I am a designer using Muse to build sites, not a developer, so this is delving a little beyond my scope of knowledge!

    Contacted Muse support, who then passed me on to Business Catalyst support, who removed the two recipient email addresses from the Amazon SES suppression list, but that did not fix the issue.
