Oracle Designer Forthcoming Versions
There have been a number of questions recently about future
versions of Oracle Designer. Hopefully this statement should
answer these.
Designer 6i
A patch set release for Designer 6i Release 4 will be available
by the end of October on Metalink. This will be known as Release
4.1 and will have a collective version number of 6.5.69.1.0. We
plan to certify this patch set retrospectively against Oracle
9.0.1. On release however it will only certified against Oracle
8.1.7.
Oracle9i Developer Suite (9iDS)
We are currently working on a new 9i release of iDS. Briefly,
this will contain the following fully integrated 9i tools:
- JDeveloper
- Discoverer Administrator and Desktop
- Warehouse Builder
- Reports Developer
- Clickstream Intelligence Builder
- Forms Developer
- Designer
- Software Configuration Manager (p.k.a. Repository)
Oracle9i Designer
The Designer release in 9iDS is designed to bring Designer into
line with the 9i stack and to continue the stability gains made
over the life of Designer 6i. Oracle 9i Designer will:
- be built against the 9i RSF stack
- be certified against Oracle 8.1.7 and 9i for install
- generate and capture Oracle 8.1.7 and 9i
- generate and capture Oracle9i Forms and Oracle9i Reports
- include support for timezone datatype
We are also planning subsequent releases of Designer, the first
provisionally slated for release in the middle of 2002. These
releases are intended to increase the support for Oracle9i
server modelling, generation and support, and of course will
continue support for the companion tools in the box.
Designer Product Management

Can I just ask (I'm a bit confused) is Oracle Designer 2000
equivalent to Designer 6i, 7i or 8i or what is the equivalent of
Oracle Designer 2000? We covered all tools (ERD, DFD, BPM,
Reports, SQL etc., generated database from SMD etc.) at
University, and I saw a bundle of books: Oracle Designer 2000,
Developer 2000, Handbook, with free tutorials for a bargain
price. I'll be using Oracle 9i educational. Should I buy the
pack I saw or wait for 9i books? If Designer 6i is so similar to
9i, what are the differences?

Is Headstart 6i compatible with all Designer 6i versions? Where to download?

We consider upgrading from Designer 6.0 / Headstart patch 12.4
to Designer 6i / Headstart 6i, as we are now migrating from a
7.3.4 db to 8.1.7 and from Win98 to Win2000.
I have seen documentation on migration issues from Designer 6.0
to 6i rel.2, and from Headstart to patch 13. But I understand
that with introduction of Headstart 6i, patch 13 is no longer
supported.
1. I assume that Headstart 6i could work with all Des.6i-

2. I have found the place to download patch 13, but where can I
download Headstart 6i ???

Headstart 6i is compatible with all Designer 6i versions.
However, we have found one odd quirk with Headstart 6i and Forms
6i versions 6.0.13 and higher.
Description ===========
1. When using a multi-select LOV (which is displayed in a modal
dialog window), you select the records you want, press OK, and
the application exits.
2. When using a shuttle control to move records from left to
right or vice versa, you select the records you want, press '>'
to move them, and the application exits. This occurs in Forms
6.0.8.13.0 and higher. It did NOT occur in prior releases. This
is some kind of forms bug.
Workaround ==========
For some reason the call to procedure 'renumber' in
qms$msel.process_records in qmslib65.pll causes the application
to exit. If you copy the code from renumber to all the places
from which it is called, it works fine.

How to display designer module version no. on the form?

With Headstart, we suggest you create a module argument P_REVISION and manually populate this item with the current revision of your module. You can then see this argument in the 'About this Application' form that is supplied with Headstart. You could write a utility to query the module revision number for the module and populate P_REVISION with this value.

I was opening Illustrator in CS4 design standard. Odd too, because the error comes up with it showing missing plugins from Photoshop. I opened Photoshop first, then Illustrator to see if it changed anything. Yes, One of the two error messages for a plugin was gone.
To remove apps I went to the Adobe website to redownload my standard CS4 and chose "uninstall".. So I did. Restarts x 2 . Then Reopening illustrator...same thing again. Restarted, then went to Disky Utlity and cleaned up something off of it as per a internet suggestion...Sorry, it's been a long day alreay. Not me removing anything, just allowing it to do that with repairing.
The version of Mac OS is YOSEMITE 10.10.2 .
I recently updated!!! oooh nooooo! (every watch Mr. Bill on SNL?) so if the updated OS is the culprit, do I have to go back to older version for my apps to work? I never realized how very much I use Illustrator. I know there are extensions I could go through one at a time....seriously I am overwhelmed with some life events that make this computer dilema almost too much of a challenge for me at this time..I am truly grateful for your help. Adobe Creative Design Premium version 5 - reinstalling with serial code and getting an 'invalid' message

I've installed Adobe Creative Design Premium version 5 on two computers, but have reformatted one of them without deactivating. Am trying to reinstall it onto the newly formatted laptop but unable to use the serial number provided under my registered products in "My Accounts" page - what do I do?

Report Designer Print version settings needs to change

Hi,
I am using BI 7.0 report designer. when user executes report in report designer it will display report out put in web. In web there is a option like Print Version which displays report in PDF format. So user wants different PDF format not standard one like they want Land scape instead of Portrait and In footer they want page no and etc.....
Can any one help to solve this issue.

I went through the SAP Service market by refering to the sapnote 962763 where they mention the path as shown below

There are multiple ways to get to the latest version of Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.2. The note you referenced should be made obsolete.
This is the path I choose from the download center but there are different installations you could pick.
Installations and Upgrade
     - A - Z Index -> N
     -> SAP Netweaver
                     -> SAP EHP2 for SAP Netweaver 7.0
     -> Installation
     -> AIX
     -> Oracle
     ... page down to object 51039107 - Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.2. It is toward the bottom.

In design CS5 version d'essai impossible à télécharger!!!!!!

j ai l'habitude de travailler avec la version d'essai d'in Design ( travail ponctuel et impossible d'acheter la version definitive -à mes frais- pour le moment vu que je n ai pas encore mon contrat definitif), et jusqu a present, je n avais eu aucun probleme pour l utiliser plusieurs fois avec le meme email (jamais plus de 30 jours et a chaque fois, mes periodes de pauses etaient espacees de qqes semaines). Voila que je ne peux plus DU TOUT utiliser la version d'essai, même avec mon mail professionel (dont je ne me suis encore jamais servi pour in design), à chaque fois un message apparait me disant que ma licence est expirée.
Est ce que cela vous est arrivé? savez vous pourquoi? qqch a t il changé recemment?

Je ne pense pas que la politique de Adobe est changé à ce sujet depuis des années.
Cela n'a rien à voir avec votre ID sur le site d'Adobe, mais avec l'ordinateur sur lequel le programme est installé.
Une fois votre période d'essai terminée, vous pouvez essayer de supprimer l'application, la réinstaller. Rien n'y fait.
La seule solution serait de réinitialiser votre disque dur chaque mois, avant chaque réinstallation. Mais à ce rythme, ça ne risque pas d'être très rentable !

Cannot see the Previous Versions using SharePoint Designer 2013 - Versions cannot be accessed at this time.

I was trying to view the Version History of a page from the SharePoint Designer 2013, I got the following error. "Versions cannot be accessed at this time, because the server is busy. Please try again later.
Whereas I can able to access the version history through browser, the issue only occurs in SharePoint Designer.

Hi Ramkumar,
I understand that when you use SharePoint designer 2013 to check previous version of a page, it will pop up the error window. This is a known issue and here are two feasible workaround:
1.Use SharePoint designer 2010 to connect SharePoint 2013 site.
2.In SharePoint Designer 2013, use the Versions pane in the Page Summary view to access detailed version information of a file. You can access the Page Summary view by:
a. (Left) Clicking on a filename in the Site Pages list.
b. Select a file Site Pages list by clicking anywhere in the row (except the filename) and then clicking on “Page Settings” in the Site Pages.
c. Restore the required version.

SSDM 3.1 PROD - Migrate design from version 691 to 700

Hello SSDM Team,
We have about 150 ssdm/svn designs and we need migrate the tool from version 691 to version 700.
I noticed that the tool doesnt let to save a connected design to svn on top of the design in the workarea and after commit it directly to the svn repository.
We need to execute a lot of steps to migrate each design. First we have to "save as" the design outside the workarea, exclude the design in the svn repository, exclude the design in the workarea, copy the design saved in other folder into the workarea, and finally import the design to the svn repository.
Imagine do it for 150 designs, managing the users and their designs and so on......
I'd like to know if there's a easier and maybe an automatic way to do this job.

Hello Nelson,
Data Modeler 3.1.1 is published and you can upgrade in place versioned designs created with DM 3.0.0.665 or DM 3.1.0.691 - i.e. you can do Save for such designs.

Same circuit design-different versions of multisim now fixed

remade circuit model 74LS244N, now pattern16t file works in different versions of multisim.
how much do you think pattern16t cicuit could be worth.
this circuit interfaces with gpib, scsi, usb computer interface circuits.
this is just the hardware. software still would have to be made for each computer.
basicly there are the computers with a different interface.

Hi there,
The application sounds interesting for interfacing instruments or devices with these buses. Of course, you have to take into consideration that there are off-the-shelf products that come with drivers, etc.
By the way, I really liked how you organized the schematic in Multisim with buses, etc.

Upgrade for forthcoming Version 5

I just ordered yesterday version 4 of lightroom and now there is a new version coming.. Do I need to buy an upgrade like rightaway that i get my hands on lightroom 4 ? or will there be "free" or super cheap upgrade campaing for newly new owners?

Someone asked the same question yesterday and got the reply that Adobe refund within 30 days. LR5 beta is free, workable and will be active untill LR5 is released as finalised. The LR5 beta feels more responsivethan LR4 anyhow.
