Designing a Field Editable Header for Merging with Exsisting PDF doc

I'm trying to accomplish designing a Field Editable Header so I may merge (import) into an exsisting PDF file to create 1 file.
I have already designed my header in Live Cyle with editable fields. The only issue is when I save it as a PDF file I can't merge this with an existing PDF file to make just 1 PDF document.
I also tried importing the header as a stamp but the issue here is the fields no longer stay editable in my header.
My Business:
What im trying to accomplish is sending out Submittal Sheets (Information Documents) with a professional looking header. I want to make this a simple process were I can open up a PDF document and place in the header (has to be with editable fields) for several PDF documents.
Attached is the header I designed and would like to merge with PDF documents to creat 1 file. Please Note; the header has to still stay editable.

And That would require a PC, because LiveCycle Designer does not exist on a Mac and most likely never, ever will.
Or would require The cost of Parallels about $80, Windows 7 upwards of $300 depending upon the version, and what ever Live Cycle designer Cost around $100.00
Or buy a decent PC (not one of the 2-300 dollar jobs that all is good for is using IE) with windows 7 on it. Then get a Copy of Acrobat and Live cycle Designer.

Here you can add the fomatting action on the field to disable the field if those users belong to certain Sharepoint group (does not matter the permission levels though). Hope it helps.

Ipad 2 Help with ppt, pdf, .doc, .xls ?

I have recently bought a Ipad 2. I am in the army and have alot of slideshows and documents I want to be able to transfer to my ipad and view them and give classes. I use Documents To Go Premium - views all those documents. Others that are popular are Quick Office, Office^2, and the seperate Apple apps (Pages, Numbers, Keynote).
Just realize that all of these are limited compared to the full computer versions and won't have all the same capabilities - you will likely lose your transitions and animations from a PowerPoint, for instance, or be unable to footnote.

Firefox behaves differently with different PDF docs on my web site

I am running Firefox 3.6.6 on Windows 7 Home Edition. When I update a PDF file on my web site, and I try the updated web page in my browser, Why does my browser prompt me to save the file with the updated file, but it displays inside the browser with other pdfs on my site? I get the same results with IE. The files are very similar, but yet, the browsers treats them differently.

''Possibly'' because when you access the file from your hard disk (I assume that's what you mean by "try the updated web page in my browser") and when you access it from a webserever, the file type is different. If you're brought up with windows you might think that the file type is determined by the extension (.pdf) but it's not. Depending on the webserver, your operating system, and your browser, it ought to depend on the 'mime type'
So try uploading the amended page to your webserver (in a test area) and see if it works off the web.

Variable field in Header for every new page

Hi Friends.
I am printing a new page on every new material no encountered . At the same time the HEADER has a field called Container name which is different for each material so this header field needs to be update each time when a new page is called to print .
How to handle this ? Please advise .
In my z calling program I am using this logic .

If you have created a seperate window for header then you cant pass a changing field . Instead keep that header window in the main window that will serve your purpose.
you need to put the condition
if &page& eq '1'.
header code.
endif.

Edit link for Report with form

Hi, I create report on Page1 with form on Page2 using Wizard. For this reports select always returns me only one record. On my report I see edit image, it has records 'id' value and branching me to Page2.
I need edit link on another region in Page1. But I can't to assign for this link the same 'id' value for editing my record in Page2. How can I do it?

You are right, doing things this way is messy. One approach is to write APIs to support your data model. All queries/DML against tables should be done with these APIs. Having two levels of APIs has worked well for many applications: a transaction-level API (modules like fetch_empl_vacation_history, update_org_roles_master, create_incident_report) and a table-level API (modules like fetch_emp_rec, update_emp_rec, create_emp_rec). Transaction APIs call table APIs and table APIs do queries and DML against base tables. A typical page like the one you described might have one transaction-level API call to do the fetch from all the tables and populate all the page items in session state and one transaction-level API call after submit to perform the logical transaction that updates all the affected tables. APIs like these must also handle concurrency using an optimistic locking model. To repeat, the automatic row fetch and DML processing processes built into HTML DB are not intended to manage complex, multi-table transactions.
You can create table-level APIs using SQL Workshop->Tasks Menu(Create Database Object)->Package->Build a package with methods on database table(s). If you experiment with that, some of this should make more sense.

Additional fields in report for form with report

Hello,
I got the problem, that I want to create a form with report where the form only changes the values of one table but the report is also using additional fields linked from another table. If I take a view with all fields for my form with report, the form is about all fields and not only about those from the first table. So is there a way to have another table linked to the form than to the report and get a link between them by a key?
I hope that someone has got a great idea and can help me solving this.

you can create a form with report on the view and afterwards you change the SQL-query into a query on the view. Take care that the original column names remain the same. You get your extra columns in the report and your link to the form remains,

Any workaround for dealing with MS Word docs without using MS Office?

Hi, I've been emailed a highly formatted MS word document that I need to fill in and email back. Trouble is that my copy of Pages 08 says 'text frames aren't supported and have been converted to text boxes' - the result being that the form is jumbled up to say the least and unusable, is there a workaround without having to use Microsoft word itself?

However with very complex formatting you may well find that it's just not possible for other programs to handle it.

Data merge & creating separate PDF docs

I am using the data merge functionality to create targeted registration announcements for training. For example, a letter that says dear (Name), you are confirmed for (Course Name) on (Date).
Within InDesign it works great, however when it exports to PDF it creates one big document with all of the names, albeit one per page. Is there any way to create a break so that if 5 names are added via data merge, then 5 separate PDF documents are created? It seems that otherwise the only other option is to manually create 1 page at a time which will sort of defeat the purpose.

How to get the text field in the header for only first page of the report

Invalid path? What are you doing? Writing the report output to an invalid directory?
Where are your terms and conditions? It would be very easy just to put them in a database table and select them in your report query.

Change Header for each page

i've create an application without login (i choose that when i created the app.). But the template/theme? is shown the apex_public_user and a logout-link in the header or footer (depends from the theme). I'd like to make this invisible and instead add an logo-gif and a text in the header.

i think i have an general problem with understanding apex:
I can edit all the pages with the userinterface from apex (application builder), but for example i don't know the source code when apex is calling an process after header, fetch rows etc. That's why i don't know how to modify to get some specialized things.
In my case: I'll edit header for one page (actually i'll for each but i don't know how to do this), click on edit page, select footer or header and the fields are empty. Where can i find the entry &APEX_USER?
All the processes which runs in the background where can i find these?
