Designing Cisco Video conferencing solution

Hi All,
I need to design a single site Cisco IP Video Conferencing soultion which should support web, chat, ISDN and email etc support.
there will be one conferencing room which will be communicating with other remote or traving users.
the requirement is that remote or travelling users should be able to have the video conferencing facility with the Headoffice(single site) and vise versa.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Regards,
Waqas

I would recommend Cisco unified presence server for your deployment with MPX. That will give you chat, voice and video conferencing. If you dont use MPX then you can only do point-to-point video CUPS on its own doesnt support video conferencing.
YOu can also intergrate with exchange to view meetings and unity to listen to voicemails.
You can use VTA for the remote clients and 7985 for central site or some sort of tanberg phone if you want a larger screen.
The remote users are going to have to have a pretty low latency connection to get good quality video/voice.

    Hi
As long as this is new instalation I recommend you to use SIP on all of the end points where possible and integrate with CUCM using sip trunk this will give you two main benefits
    - the transformation of the called and calling number from and to CUCM will be easier
-if have end point using H323 and communicating with other end using sip the vcs will do internetworking to this call and you will need license for each internetworked call plus the media path will go through the vcs not direct between end points for internetworking
If you use sip make the end point name/sip usri as [email protected]  Calls from vcs to CUCM use search rules with trsformation so if end point dial 123456 only from vcs and the default call is sip vcs will send it to CUCM as 123456@sip domain.com you need to do transformation before sending it to CUCM and send it as 123456@cucmip.
This is just in brief and also using the expersss way you can have your sip domain registered over the Internet and configure dns srv record point sip ton the vcs public ip and Internet calls can come to your end point sip name directly no need to publish ip to others to dial you

  • CISCO VIDEO CONFERENCING EQUIPMENT SX 20

We have a CISCO Video Conferencing equipment SX20 bought in 2013. The machine is getting rebooted automatically. We had contacted the Vendor from whom the equipment was purchased. They have informed that we have to get keys from CISCO for firmware upgrade. The cost of the same quoted by them in HKD 20,000.00. Is it correct? We donot use any service of CISCO in the equipment.

Or, contact the TAC, and reference the OpenSSL security advisory (http://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20140605-openssl) to get a "free" upgrade to TC7.1.4 or later as per the "customers without service contracts" section.

  • Video Conferencing over IP

    Hi,
My customer has cucm8.x, cups 8.x and Unity 8.x in a centralized call processing with 5 remote sites in total connected via MPLS. They are interested in a video conferencing solution for boardroom and desktop.
What cisco solution (hardware and software) should I be looking at to satisfy this need. I need to make a presentation tomorrow, assistance is much appreciated. In the board room they would like to use their LCD TV as well for picture display or any other alternative. Not telepresence, too pricy for their requirement
    Nki

Well, you may not care any more since you have presented you may have already presented your solution....
Anyway, Cisco TelePresence no longer refers to the high-end "immersive telepresence" product line. Cisco has decided that TelePresence is a brand not a product. This brand now includes hardware and software that have been absorbed in the Cisco portfolio as a result of the Tandberg acquisition.
So, don't let the term TelePresence in a Cisco doc throw you off.
Cisco has plenty of video options in their portfolio now, go here:

  • Video Conferencing over Low speed WAN links

    Hi there,
Can somebody explain possible point-to-nultipoint video conferencing solution over low speed WAN links ?
( I have central site and about 20 remote sites - hub and spoke configuraition)
    a. What is the minimum BW requirement
    b. If using Cisco Video advantage at users desktop how do we select the proper MCU at the central site ?

Buffer 15 to 30 seconds. Make sure to tell them there will be
a long load time. There really isn't much you can do besides
    that.

  • Need clearification of integration of CUCM with life size video conferencing

    Dear All,
Basically we have cisco cucm 8.5 and we are using some video phone like 9971 and 8945 and in another side we are using life size for video conferencing solution.
It is possible that I can use my cisco base video phone(9971 and 8945) to join life size video conferencing solution or in other word can I fully integrate my CUCM to life size.
    Regards,
    Wajahat

You can register the Lifesize systems to CUCM as 3rd party SIP phones and be able to call each other.

  • Video conferencing software tool

    Hi,
I am looking for recommendations on what software tools I can use to troubleshoot video conference issues. A software that can determine the cause of audio and video issues, if the bandwidth we have can support a stable video conference, and possibly shows the test result of an actual  video conference call.
    Thanks!

    Manish,
We don't use a telepresence infrastructure, we use web based video conferencing solution from Zoom. Actually, I spoke with Zoom's engineer and they will check on their end but I want to have other options tools wise if the troubleshooting of the vendor doesn't go anywhere.
    Thanks

  • Creating video conferencing application?.

hello, im a newbie in JMF. How should i design a video conferencing application that uses less ports for transmitting audio and video streams? since i have read in the API that there is a separate port to be used for audio and video. and what comes into my mind. the use of ports may increase since more users can come in and join the conference, and also interact with the conferencing. Thanks. I would like to hear a lot of response from people who have already created such application.

    Hi,
Already set audioReliable & videoReliable false on publisher & player nestream.
Still the lag is there. Is there any latency buffer settings anywhere ( on server which each peer copies?)

  • Cisco Conferencing Solution

We got a new customer requirement for Conferencing solution, actually this is for Webinas, Bellow are the basic Requirements

    2. Administrator should be able select users who are reigistered, and then confirmation email should be go to users.
    3. Limit the participants for Single webinar.
    4. Presenter's Video should be shared
    5. Audio conferencing between participants
    6. users can login from any device
What will be thebest suitable product for this ?
Please guide for give a good solution for this.

    Sasith

    Hi Sasith,
I would advise you to reach out to your Cisco Account team that can involve Cisco Sales Engineers that can provide you wit the information about the entire product line and features available. This Community support MeetingPlace and Cisco WebEx Meetings Server (CWMS) solutions.
MeetingPlace integrated with WebEx has a Webinar option, but it doesn't have this functionality when it comes to registration. You can schedule a Webinar kind of a meeting and send invitation to everyone. However, there is no possibility of managing registrations etc. You can schedule a meeting but you cannot specify the size of the meeting during scheduling. Presenter's Video can be shared as well as have participants being able to talk within the conference. Users should be able to log in from any device.
CWMS product doesn't have a Webinar option at this time.
I hope this will help at least a little bit.

You can see this URL. The SRND is very useful. You can find information about the diferent models that you have to work. MCUs, GW, GK, endpoints and other components.

  • IP Video conferencing best practice - Tanberg/Cisco hardware

We are currently experiencing intermittant issues with our Video conferencing internal and external network with intermittant screen fragmentation. We have separate VLAN's configured on our internal network for the Video traffic only.   We use the movi client on the with the majority of our remote users.  I'm wondering what is the best practice based in setting up and support a Video conference network.

Have you set up QoS policies for video?
I have a very good network readiness document you are welcome to, if you want to ping me your email address?
I can't seem to copy it properly into the tech support app on my iPad, drop me an email to [email protected] and I'll send over the info - should help!

  • What System Can use for Phone & Video Conferencing

    Hello,
What System to recommend to use for our Small office on both Voice and Video Conferencing.
    and to our branch offices.
    Regards,
    Angelo

    Hi Angelo,
As Jaime suggested the design needs to be validated before its implemented. Assuming you are using CUCM, you can look at the possibility of using 9971 series IP phones with Video conferencing capable ISR G2 routers with PVDM-3. Please check the following

  • Requirement for Video Conferencing on CallManager 3.3

    hi,
can anyone help me on this? Im preparing for a proposal for implementing video conferencing on a CallManager 3.3. VidCon should be used on the HQ and two branch offices.
    Tnx...

the need to use video conferencing should be considered as a factor for upgrading your call managers to at least 4.1.
many enhancements, fixes and features, especially for video conferencing, have been introduced since 3.3.
if you required vidConf with 3.3, you should consider using a polycom solution.
    http://polycom.com/products_services/1,1443,pw-35,00.html
the VSX series is pretty nice with straight forward config/administration and of course, superb polycom technology/support.
(may not be the cheapest solution but it's definately stable and works well)
NOTE: the cisco IP Video Phones, 7985G, may be able to fulfill your needs; especially if vidConf is only intraCompany.
(requires 7985 phones, ccm 4.1+ and a cisco MCU)
