Designing with tables... compatiblity with other browsers??

I created a page using mx 2004. It looks fine in safari, but in firefox and IE something goes terribly wrong. I am very inexperienced with this. The url is: http://www.lighthousebc.org only the homepage was done in dreamweaver. the rest of the site is basically a picture that was made in photoshop. I'm trying to remake the site in dreamweaver (like i did on the home page) but the page doesn't look right in different browsers. Is there a simple css code that makes the page a fixed width or something? I'm not really sure what to do... help!!! ????

Facebook freezes when trying to open with firefox but not other browsers, how do I fix this?

I have two users on my pc. The main user has no problem accessing facebook using his windows account and firefox browser. The second user, however all of a sudden, cannot access facebook with his windows account and firefox browser. Firefox freezes and says not responding. Other browsers, however work. I have loaded and run a windows registry repair which did not fix the problem. I have also run my virus scanning software. I cannot find an answer to this issue. Can someone please help?

WebSAPConsole with Intermec IBrowse, or other browsers?

I am using Intermec IBrowse on Intermec 751 - Pockct PC 2003 SE with WebSAPConsole. WebSAPConsole is installed on win2003 with IIS.
1. Does anyone able to do the onKey mapping?
The IBrowse instructions stated:

How to add the above meta header to the WebSAPConsole generated webpages?
I tried setting IIS Headers in IIS admin, but IBrowse fail to work.
2. the WebSAPConsole generated webpages use the onkeypress event which do not work in Pocket IE and IBrowse. Is there other browsers i can installed, to detect the onKeypress event?

Firefox renames files to "copy" when downloading. We have such proplems with our internal site, other browsers have not such problems.

We have an internal site that containts some amount of files (*.doc, *.xls and others). Site is a windows IIS web-server. Files renames to "copy" when downloading, just "copy" name, without extension. Other browsers (Chrome, IE, Safari, Opera) do not have such problem.

Web Application Designer - Extract Table cell with JavaScript

If I set an analysis item to display as an html table i want to be able to extract certain cells from the table and display them in seperate textboxes. I believe this is possible using javascript but not sure how to go about doing it. Any help would be appreciated.

There is a javascript option of using innerhtml by which you should be able to get the information within tables..

Are files created with CS4 compatible with CS3?

One of our customers has many copies of Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop CS3 installed and used. They now need 2 additional copies but can only purchase CS4. It is not possible for them to upgrade all of their current existing copies of CS3 to CS4.
The question that we have is this. Is Adobe Illustrator and Photoship CS4 fully compatible with Illustrator and Photoshop CS3? These people all work together. Can one person author an Illustrator or Photoshop file using CS4 and subsequently, can those who have CS3 work with the file with complete confidence that everything will always render the same (as it did in CS4)and work properly using CS3?

No...they are not fully compatible at all. In Illy you'll need to save
as CS3 and make sure you don't use any CS4 specific features.
In Photoshop you'll need to be careful as well but you SHOULD BE fine
for most things. No promises though.
InDesign, though you didn't mention it, is completely incompatible.
Files will need to be backsaved through the INX export feature and when
opened in CS3 it's very likely that text will reflow and any new CS4
features will be lost or badly mangled.
Caution is strongly in a mixed environment such as this.

Links are not working with Firefox and some other browsers

On my site (iWeb08) I have some pictures of pieces of text as a link to another page of website.. but with some browsers the links doesn't work.
Also de links are very difficult to activate on the site.. What I mean is when you want to click the link.. you have to search with the cursor in stead of stand on the word and click to activate..
(hope that you understand what I mean, but my English is a bit difficult in English for me...)

It appears that Photoshop Elements was tested with Windows Vista and Windows XP with service pack two or 3. It may work in Windows 7 but it has not been tested by Adobe. Please feel free to respond to this thread if you receive an error during the installation process.

HBO GO suddenly freezing on sign-in with Comcast/Xfinity. Other browsers installed will work, but after a system update Firefox no longer does. Any ideas?

After a routine Windows 7 update, Firefox will not load the HBO GO content when you attempt to sign in. Normally, I do not have to sign in unless I log into the account via my Droid or other PC. I tried it in Google Chrome and works fine on my Droid. Also, now when going to full screen option, Flash opens a new window and have lost the options to control the display ratio and toolbars. Any ideas?

It sounds like we've got a number of *different* problems on this thread. I'll try and respond to a few of them.
@filter 2.5 and everyone else running into a green screen issue. Please try the solution outlined in the post below to see if it will allow you to use hardware acceleration. The other alternative is to try a different ATI driver.

Sometimes video and audio problems are caused at a lower level and not directly related to Flash Player. I recommend trying both of the links below to see how they perform. If the problem exists with both, then Flash Player is most likely not the culprit as the HTML5 video link does not use Flash Player when playing. You can verify the use of HTML5 by right clicking the HTML5 video and looking for the words "About HTML5" at the bottom of the context menu.

@mem2013 - The Flash Player update service will not impact Flash Player's performance. This is a separate service that runs for just an instant on your system once an hour (if you have automatic updates enabled.) Changing it from manual to automatic shouldn't make any difference.

Every time I open Firefox I get a new page with an ad for Walmart I can't seem to stop it from happening. It doesn't do this with any of my other browsers, however I prefer Firefox.. can you suggest how I can stop this from happening.

Possibly, but then again maybe not. You won't know until you try. Works without a hitch for some people, is nothing but trouble for others. Depends too much on teh specifics of the system and the Windows configuration used...

Help. Firefox quit being able to connect with the internet. Other browsers can. Did a full reinstallation - no help. Windows 7

I have used firefox for years on Windows 7. I had an intermittent problem where firefox dropped the internet connection (unable to locate server) fixed by resetting the router.
Today, resetting the router did not work. I tried Internet Explorer - worked fine.
Booted and reinstalled firefox - same thing.
Did a wipeout reinstall - now nothing. You enter a url -nothing.

That issue can be caused by corrupted cookies.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted. 
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

Difference between with table name with * and without *

I had seen some of the standard abap that the table name had *, like *ekpo. What is the meaning? What is the difference between with * and without * ?

1. This is actually a facility provided in abap syntax.
2. It is usually checked while saving a record.
3. For eg.
If we have one variable
EKKO
and another *EKKO
(They both are same only, with same structure)
(but two different variables)
4. The functional meaning, for usage purpose,
of *EKKO is OLDEKKO.
5. While saving the transaction,
the data is saved only if there is any change
in the values.

Is CS3 Design Standard compatible with Windows 7 64-bits and MS Office 2010 Pro Plus?

I have been googling around to see if Adobe CS3 Design Standard is compatible with Windows 7 64-bits with MS Office 2010 Pro Plus, but I couldn't find a decent answer.
If anyone here has any idea on this, please let me know.
As far as i know Adobe CS3 comes with Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro which is not compatible with MS Office 2010, so I am sort of worried that I will need to upgrade my CS3 to CS6.
Any advises are welcome.

I don't know if Acrobat 8 is Win 7 64 bit compatible or if it's supported. The rest of the apps should be fine.
But I do think you'll have issues with Office 2010 files being placed into InDesign.
Moving to CS6 is something you should be thinking about very soon. You only get upgrade pricing until the end of the year, but I highly recommend taking a look at Creative Cloud. At $29.99/month for the first year it's a bargain.
