Designjet 5000 PSU--Replace with 1050C PSU possible?

So I think the PSU has finally gone out on my Designjet 5000PS 60" printer.  It's been an intermittent problem for a few weeks now, sometimes booting up fine, other time giving me an error saying the HD has failed.  I've pulled out the HD and powered it up on another computer and it spins up just fine.  I put it back in the printer and it won't spin.  I metered the power into the HD and it shows 4.8 for the 5 volt and 0 for the 12 volt supply. I have a power supply from a 1050C that I can swap in.  Anyone know if that's compatible between the two models? Just to confirm the HD was okay, I powered it up from a separate power supply while the HD was in the printer and it spun up okay and got a confirmation on the screen.  It then went on to initialize but then gave an error that, when I looked it up, said it's either the trailing cable or the power supply.  I can replace both, if needed, but since the meter read 0 volts, I figured that was the better option.  Unless anyone thinks the trailing cable not seated correctly would stop the HD from spinning up. Thanks!

I don't think it could either.  But here's a quote from that thread I mentioned in my previous post: The error occurs where the PSU fails a digital check on power up.
The psu does two checks, one digital followed by an analogue one.
There are two LED's on the Main PCA immediately above the Memory Slots. When the unit is switched on from the back the RED LED should come on for the digital check of the circuit. It checks: psu to main pca, main pca to firmware, main pca to interconnect pca, main pca to iss pca also main pca to trailing cable connection, main pca to hdd (where present).
Where any of these fails then the message will arrise and the GREEN LED will not light up signaling an analogue check of the circuits failed. No power applied.
Soooo... where no red led psu is definitely gone (order part Q1251-60122).
Where red led and no green check all electrical connections. Could poss be another part that caused the failure.Tropical areas and electrical connections being what they are.
Where it is another part be sure to meter all motors, in case you put in a new psu and it gets blown out again straight away.
Don't know how accurate that info is.  I do have power to the red (D-2) but not the green.  But does that mean the PSU doesn't send power to the HDD until it checks all those connections first?  That's what I'm taking away from that.

  • Replace replace with regular expression possible?

    Hi,
    Just another regular expression question!
I want to replace the words "AND", "OR", "NOT" in a sentence with the symbols '&', '|', '~' respectively.
Obviously very simple to do with 3 replace statements, just wonder if I can use regexp_replace to achieve it?
    Cheers

    Hi,
Metacharacter symbols can be used in place of regular expressions.
    Here's an implementation scenario:

  • Anyone here with a PSU that has 22A on +12V and running perfectly stable?

I just wanna know if anyone else here is or isn't experiencing problems with a PSU that has only 22A on the +12V.
If so please post here.  Thanks

I would not run it if that is what you are asking.
    Here is the deal;
When you start your computer it draws the most energy from the power supply. Things can go real wrong then or if you run at full load for long periods you can also have problems as that power supply heats up and loses efficiancy. If you have an overload circut in the power supply you may get a warning like losing power and having the power LED sit and flash at you. However if a componant say shorts out you could suddenly dump high voltage through the system. What do you think your CPU would do if you hit it with say 24v or some odd thing? It will fry. and as it does your motherboard and practically every componant in your system will too.
Now I am not trying to scare you but rather explain that you are already borderline on power needs. So this stuff I am describing could happen. You decide what you want to do. It's your equipment and your money to replace goodies. The Power Supply is the single most important device in your computer as everything depends on it working right 100% of the time.

The firmware update corrects an error that may occur, however the techs would have checked the condition of the battery prior to installing a new one.  If the battery was questionable, the firmware update was really not too important.
You can check the battery condition by going to the apple, left side of the menu bar, About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware, Power and see what it says about Cycle Count, Condition, Capacity: Condition anything but Normal needs to be checked and may need to be replaced.
The cycle count of 1,000 charge cycles is the typical life of a Lithium-Ion battery, the point at which the capacity drops to 80% of the as built capacity.

  • Is it possible to have the front panel on the iPad 2 replaced with a different color?

I have a  WiFi-3G verizon 64GB BLACK iPad 2, when I bought it, black looked the best at the time. but now, it seems that white looks ALOT better and actually makes the screen look bigger . I was wondering if it was possible that if the front glass (not the LCD) can be replaced with a white one. As far as i can see, all of the connections and clips SHOULD clip into place just like the black panel. there should be no problem. the only problem i could see is that the apple store will refuse to install it because of some bullsh** reason. If that happens, i will buy the panel, then go to iFixit or something like that and see if they will take my money.  So if anyone can shed some light on my situation, that would be GREAT.  THANKS

my step mother got an ipad against my advice to wait for the new ones and she got a white one, and seeing how clean, pure, open and free the white one seemed compared to my black one, which (athough i polish habitually) look sad, dark, grimy and "trapped", i wanted to get the panel swapped. i thought i could maybe pull off an "oh crap i 'accidentaly' dropped my ipad and the screen broke" but that seemed utterly useless as they would just replace it with a black one.

I'm trying to replace a missing font and apparently it's a graphic.  It's not letting me replace with another font and click change.  I can't export until it's fixed and I need to fix / bypass as soon as possible.

Go find the graphic in question, and open it in its native program. The problem will have to be fixed there.

  • Is the Hiper Type- R 580 modular PSU compatible with MSI K8N SLI Platinum?

Hey guys, i just recently bought a Hiper Type R 580w PSU after my old PSU went bad.
I installed the new PSU a few hours ago and came across a problem, nothing shows up on screen.
When i turn on the computer, the green light is constantly on including my dvd/rw light.
I double checked everything were connected properly and everything seemed to be connected properly.
The cpu's fan are running properly including the graphics cards and the case's fan but i can't pinpoint whats causing the the green activity light to light constantly including the dvd/rw.
I also tried resetting CMOS but it didn't fix the problem.
So now i'm starting to wonder if it's to do with compatibility issues between the Hiper Type R PSU and my K8N SLI Platinum motherboard.
So i just wanted to know if the Hiper Type R 580 PSU is compatible with the K8N SLI platinum?
I would grately appreciate any assistance.

    In short no.
The Hiper Type- R 580 does NOT have a -5V supply line
Although the -5V requirement has been removed from some MSI designs, the MSI page for the K8N SLI Platinum http://msicomputer.co.uk/Products.aspx?product_id=703525&cat_id=77 states:

    • These two connectors (JPWR1 & JPWR2) connect to the ATX power supply and have to work together to ensure stable operation of the mainboard.
    • Power supply of 450 watts (and above) is highly recommeded for system stability.
    • For ATX 12V power connection, it should be greater than 18A.
    • For this model, you must use the power supply that with a -5V pin supply.

  • Wha do I need to consider when trying to fix my Designjet 5000?

    G'day everyone,
I picked up a Designjet 5000 yesterday, which 'doesn't work'. I have no experience with printers, but it was only $50 so I thought I would give it a go. On turning it on, it gives the 'Error memory test' error, which I have determined means that the 128MB DIMM memory module is dead. That's not a problem, as I've sourced replacements all over the internet.
This machine hasn't been in use for several months now, and is covered in dust. I gave the carriage belt a light squeeze and it snapped in half (just to give you an idea as to what condition it's in).
My main question is regarding the ink system. This printer doesn't have any inks, printheads or service station cartridges installed. How do I go about getting each of these parts? The inks seem fairly simple, there are inks on eBay and various other places around the internet, but the printheads and service station cartridges I'm not so sure.
Any advce would be great, as I'm definitely a printing novice! I'm sure I'll have problems down the road with residual ink having dried in the tubes etc, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it!
    Cheers!

Sounds like a good deal :-).

However, My carrier (orange) will b picking up my broken iPhone and I am unsure how to secure the content and icloud data on the broken phone. Hi Gazpan,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I recommend using the steps in this article to back up your iPhone if possible:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

If you no longer have your iOS device
If you're using iCloud and Find My iPhone on the device, you can erase the device remotely and remove it from your account by signing in to icloud.com/find, selecting the device, and clicking Erase. When the device has been erased, click Remove from Account.
If you're unable to complete either of the above steps, you should change your Apple ID password. Changing your password won't remove any personal information that is cached on the device, but it will make sure that the new owner can't delete your information from iCloud.

  • After "Replace with clip" the original clip can not be deleted from the project - why?

After using "replace with clip" to replace clip A in the timeline with a new clip B , clip A can not be deleted from the project anymore.
If you try to delete clip A, you get a warning, that it still has references in one or more sequences.
If you continue and delete clip A, it seems to be deleted - at first!
Unfortunately if you save and reopen the project, clip A is restored to folder "Recovered clips".
It's not possible to really delete it.
I also did not find a way to unlink clip B from A .
The only thing you can do, is to revert the change by "Restore Unrendered" in the clip context menu. But that's obviously not helping
I dont know if this is a bug or a feature. I understand, that it can be useful to undo the "replace clip" function, but why would anyone not want to be able to delete the original clip at all?
help how to fix this problem is greatly appreciated!
    I use Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 (Win7 64bit)

I'm sure it has nothing to to with other sequences.
You can easily reproduce this behaviour:
    1. create a new project
    2. import 2 clips and name them "A" and "B"
    3. put "A" in the timeline
    4. ALT-drag "B" over "A" in the timeline (or right-click "A" in the timeline while selecting "B" in the project files and select "replace with clip ... from bin")
    5. delete "A" from the project files
    6. save and close project
    7. reopen project
=> "A" reappears in "Recovered clips" and can not be deleted.

  • HDD replaced with SSDHDD & Drive Self Test failed hardware scan by LSC

    Hello! Happy new year!
I bought a new SDDHDD instead of the HDD that came with the laptop when I bought it because it was faulty.
I want to make sure that the new drive isn't faulty when running the hardware scan using Lenovo Solution Center (LSC), I got this result code: WHD01V000-HK9V1D - Warning for the SMART Drive Self Test. However I tried testing using HD Sentinel and SeaTools but they showed no errors.
Note: I'm taking LSC seriously because it showed warnings then critical alerts before my first HDD failed so I don't want to ignore it.
Please let me know what it means and if I should worry or how to fix the problem? Or does it simply not support SDD?
Thanks for reading this long message! (Sorry)

    Hi, quocphong
It sounds like the hard drive is running okay overall, but it has some bad sectors in it. You will not be able to read or write to these sectors. That being said, I would first try running a ChkDsk on the hard drive and see if any of the sectors can be repaired. To run a ChkDsk, go to Computer and right-click on the C: drive and select Properties. Navigate to the Tools tab and select the box that says Check now... This should scan the drive for errors and attempt to fix them if possible. The test can take a while, so I would do it when you will not need access to your computer.
If the test is not able to fix the errors, then I would contact Lenovo at 120-11072 (Toll Free) or +(84) 8 3521 8000 (Standard Charges Apply) and discuss a hard drive replacement with them. As for Windows, you will need to ask for recovery discs as well. Lastly, I would backup everything on the current hard drive so that it is not lost.
    Hope it helps,
    Adam

  • Windows 7,  Adobe Acrobat and the HP DesignJet 5000 PS

We have users that connect to a networked DesignJet 5000 PS to print  out design documents. One of our users was recently upgraded to Windows 7  and is now unable to print from Adobe Acrobat.
When  the user attempts to print, the print dialog box appears. However, when  she selects the printer from the dropdown box, Adobe hangs and then  crashes. No error messages are displayed aside from the standard "This  program has encountered a problem and must close."
Other  programs can print to the printer. This issue only happens in Adobe,  and only on the computer running Windows 7. I was unable to locate a  Windows 7 driver, likely because the printer appears to be discontinued.
I have tried in both Adobe Acrobat 8 as well as 10, and both produce the same issue. Since the issue only occurs in Adobe, I cannot find fault with the printer itself. Please provide any assistance you can.
    Thanks

  • Rewrite  process and remove the call to f-54 and replace with bapi proces

    Hi Gurus,
Please help me to find the soultion.
The root cause of this continual problem is the design and use of BDC session for F-54.  Is there a redesign possible with ECC6.0?
I wanted to rewrite the process and remove the call to f-54 and replace with bapi process.
if this is now possible in ECC 6.0
The benefit would be to better control what PO was used in the DP recoupment.
    Thanking you,
