Desk Top Pictures Tiger 10.4.5

For some unknow reason I have lost all my included desktop pics. (Preference-Desktop/ScreenSavers)
I continue to have my screen saver pics. I am also able to use a picture from iphoto.
I looked for the folder in Library the folders are there but empty. (Nature, Plants, Apple Images etc)
???? Any suggestions on how to get them back??
Thanks!

Try using Pacifist to extract the desktop pictures from your Mac OS X 10.4 install or restore disks.

  • Change desk top picture and system locks up

Newbie to Apple/Mac and I need your help Please. I was trying to change my desk top picture on my MacBook Pro 13. I went into "Systems"-Desktop/Screensaver and clicked on photos and the spinning disk starts up and locks up. The only way to stop it is forced shutdown. Try a restart and lockup again. Help Please. Thanks.

Quit System Preferences if it's running. In the Finder, hold down the option key and select
    Go ▹ Library
from the menu bar. From the Library folder, delete the following item, if it exists:
    Caches/com.apple.systempreferences
and move the following item to the Desktop:
    Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
Launch System Preferences and test. If you still have the issue, put the item on the Desktop back where it came from and post again. Otherwise, delete the item.

If there was no backup, where would you recover the photos from.  Sorry but those pictures are gone.

  • Iphoto 6 using pictures on the desk top

I created an album in iphoto 6 that reads desk top. I highlighted this and clicked on share at the top of the screen and then clicked on desk top. My photos did appear on the desk top but some are very big and I can't see the whole picture. Is there a way that I can make these pictures smaller?

I guess no one knows how to solve this problem. Come on, there must be someone out there that can help me.

have a problem with my MacBook Pro.5,3 and monitor.  Intermittently, the desk top screen becomes broken up into vertical sections, which appear in the wrong order, creating a haphazard picture.
The Apple icon, usually at top left corner, appears in top right corner  in a strip including all that left hand.  When the computer is restarted, the screen goes back to normal.  But I have to move the mouse to the far left of the screen and then up until it reappears on the far right hand side of the screen so that I can hit shut down button.
It seems to happen randomly though always on desk top and sometimes when I move mouse and computer switches on from rest mode.   My large flat screen is relatively new.
The video card on this computer, which is approximately two years old, is Nvidia FeForce 9400M.
Any help would be welcome as my usual source of assistance is not available and I am not well versed in workings of the Mac although I have used one for many years.

That sounds like a Hardware problem.
You may be able to confirm that with Apple Hardware Test, or make an appointmenst for a free Genius Bar evaluation.

  • My hdmi connection has sound but no picture.  The desk top icons do not show up either.  What is the fix?

I have a MacBook Pro and I was watching TV through an HDMI cable when the picture went away but I still heard sound.  At the desk top I see the backgroud selected but non of my icons are on the TV screen.  Please help.

    Hi Hartley000,
To troubleshoot your issue with using your TV as a secondary display with your Mac, check out the article below to troubleshoot the issue further. Start with checking the cables as well as resetting the SMC and PRAM to see if starts working again.

  • Can Power Point e-mails be saved and used as pictures on a Desk Top?

Is it possible to export images from a Power Point e-mail, (maybe add them to a folder) and be able to use them on the Desk Top.

You need to export the images from the powerpoint file, then import them into iPhoto, then place them in an album, then select that album in System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver.
I'll presume that you can handle all steps but the first. There's no mass export of images from powerpoint. You need to open the file in powerpoint, and secondary click (ctrl-click or two-finger-tap) on each image and select Save as Picture. You'll have to do that for every image you want from the slideshow. You can save them all to one folder, then import that folder into your iPhoto library (File menu > Import to Library).
    Hope this helps...

  • Thumbnails on my desk top have LARGE check marks mostly covering the picture. I have processed thes picts in Lightroom and Photoshop  11

Opening from my desk top thumbnails have a LARGE checkmark covering most of the picture. I have used both Lightroom and Photoshop 11 to process these picts,

When I open Lightroom and view the thumbnails the check marks are there.
So when you're seeing the check marks, do this:
    1. On Mac: Type Shift - Command - 3. This will place a .png screenshot on your desktop.
    2. On Windows: Type Windows-Logo - Print Screen (sometimes labeled PrtScr). This will place a .png screenshot in your Pictures\Screenshots.

  • Can I use the back ground picture of Firefox as my desk top theme

I have personas & would like to know if I can get these pics as my desk top theme

cactus101, Welcome to the discussion area!
You mention Express and Extreme. I'm going to assume that you are connecting the PC to the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS).
Yes you can plug the PC into the AEBS's LAN port. The PC will be configured to use Ethernet and DHCP to get an IP address. The PC doesn't won't even know that the AEBS exists. It will only know that a router exists and it is connected via Ethernet. Will our computers be linked at all if the wireless aspect of it is only being used for my g4 ibook?Yes they will be on the same network subnet.

  • Camera and ipod shuffle do not show up on desk top when connected

Kodak camera and ipod shuffle do not show up on desk top when connected.  Trying to download pictures and adding my music to ipod shuffle, Anyone have any suggestions.

Have you plugged in another USB device to ensure that the USB ports are working?
Suggest you buy (about $10 - $20) a USB memory card reader. Just plug your camera's memory card into it & copy the pic files to your Mac. Quicker & easier than interfacing the camera for pic transfer.

  • I cant click and drag my photostream photos to pin them to my desk top with out them being very small and not being able to make notes in paint brush on them.  I used to before the update.

I used to be able to open, click and drag photos from a photo stream folder, and pin them to my desk top.  After the update my PC made me download icloud to my computer to access my photo stream pictures.  Now if I go into my icloud photostream tab click and drag.  It asks me if I trust the computer I am saving it to.  If I click yes, it save this tiny picture to my desk top.
In order to accomplish what I need to do with the photos I have a few extra steps added to my perfect process.  Has any body ran into this and do you know how to simplify this.
    Thanks

    1. If you break your post into paragraphs it is much easier to read.
    2. I have no idea what your post is referring to, and how - if at all - it relates to iPhoto.
    3. It's a good idea to re-read what you've posted, and ask yourself how it might look to someone who doesn't know you and doesn't know what's going on with your machine.
