Deski Report cannot open in Infoview

Hi
we have recently upgraded BOXI R2 SP1 to SP5 and after upgrade we found that few deski reports are not opening from Infoview.
It takes much longer time and eventually it times out.We tried changing the option in the report not to refresh when opening the document
and then the document opens in the document opens in the Infoview. In short whenever we try to refresh the data it dies after trying for some time.
Any idea what could be the issue ?
Thanks in Advance
Regards
Kamal

Hi Kamalaksha,
Following solution might help you to resolve the issue.
The error message occurs because the time the report takes to open or refresh exceeds the maximum allowed idle time defined in the Desktop Intelligence Report Server.
To resolve the error message
Log in to the Central Management Console as administrator.
Click Servers > Desktop Intelligence Report Server > Properties tab.
Set the Minutes Before an Idle Connection is Closed value to one greater than the total time the document takes to open or refresh in InfoView.
Click Apply.
May I know that are you getting any error message while refreshing the reports?

  • Not able to save deski report as PDF through infoview

    Hi,
when I try to save a deski report as PDF through infoview error appears as:
Your request could not be completed because a failure occurred while the report was being processed. Please contact business administrator.[RCIRAS0546] (Error: INF)
we are using BOXI 3.1/ SP2.
Please let me know the possible solution for this.
    Thanks
    DLN

Are you migrated from earlier version to 3.1.
    YES,
    here you go,
Have a back door way to fix the problem...
We were having the same issue with DeskI documents while upgrading from XIR2 to XIR3.
It's tied to documents that are set to Refresh on open
If you import the report, set it to "not" refresh then publish it, test it and it should run fine. Once you get it working correctly you can republish the report again and turn the "Refresh on Open" back on.
It should work fine from that point on.
    Thank You!!

  • Deski Issues when opened through Infoview

    Hello
I'm experiencing some issues, that only occur when Desktop Intelligence is called/opened through Infoview portal by either clicking New -> Desktop Intelligence or modifying an existing Deski report.
    1. When opening the Importwizard, it does not list the available reports in the repository. I have to use the search functionality to actually find the report in the wizard. A klick on the refresh button does not help.
    2. Sometimes when trying to export a report to the repository, I encounter the error DX0034 with the message:
    [repo_proxy 30] DocumentFacade::exportDocument - java.lang.NullPointerException  [repo_bridge - BridgeDocumentFacade::exportDocument]
System Information: Business Objects is BOXI R2 SP4. On the client JRE 1.6.0 is used to run Java Applets. Not sure if changing the Java Version could help, I have installed also 1.5 and 1.4 but I cannot choose to run java browser applets to run under those versions in the java control panel. Webi runs fine though.
I hope there is a fix for this as we cannot access the server directly on the production environment due to security requirements.
    Thanks for any help,
    Philippe Berini

    Hi Berini,
Following solutions might help you to resolve the issue.
    Solution1:
After creating a Desktop Intelligence report, when you try to export it to the Central Management Server (CMS), the following error message appears:
    "Export Failed (DX0034)"
This is caused by the license key as it is configured with the scheduling properties as False:
    u2022BOE.EnableSchedule:false
    u2022BOE.EnableScheduleToDest:false
Obtain a new license key with the scheduling properties set as True. Once you have upgraded the license key, you can log on to Desktop Intelligence, and export the same report successfully to the CMS.
    Solution2:
    Stop tomcat server
Click on tomcat in windows explorer, and delete the work folder under tomcat. Go to the following path under tomcat:
    E:\Tomcat\webapps\businessobjects\enterprise115\desktoplaunch\web-inf\classes\webi.properties
    Make the following changes:
    Remove the # symbol and make REP_FAIL_OVERSIZE=60 & REP_STORAGE_TOKEN_STACK_SIZE=60
Save this file and restart tomcat server
    Solution3:
Maintain the equal patch (Service Packs/Fix Packs) level of BusinessObjects on server as well as on client machines.
    Solution4:
    - Re-point the problematic reports which are accessing the universe by using below steps.
    - Go to Data menu a View data.
    - Go to Definition tab in the Data manager window.
    - Click on Browse (...) button to open the universe list dialog box.
    - Select the universe which is pointing the report.
    - Go to File menu and Export the report to the repository.

  • Row Level Restrictions on DeskI Report not working under InfoView

When running/refreshing DesktopIntelligence XI r3 (Full Client) reports under InfoView, the row-level restrictions applied in the universe are not being included in the SQL (additional filtering is NOT happening). However, if a user creates a report using the same universe in WebIntelligence or if the user runs the same report in DesktopIntelligence, the row-level restrictions are working.
It strikes me that the problem has to do with security rights granted (or not granted), but I can't figure out which settings would allow the proper running of a DeskI report under InfoView.
    Thanks for any assistance rendered!

    Mike,
Do people connect to Infoview and Deski using the same authentication method and the same username?
How does this compare to how your data restrictions are configured?
Are you using @Variable('BOUSER') restrictions? Have you taken domain into account e.g. "Domain\UserName" vs "UserName"?

  • Cannot open document (Error: INF)

We have migrated reports from version Business Objects 6.5.1 to Business Objects XI 3.1 SP2. We have been receiving sporadic 'Cannot open document (Error: INF)' now and again whenever you open Desktop Intelligence reports using Infoview. Have any other users come across this issue using BOXI 3.1 SP2. I do not believe that this issue occurred on SP1.
    This error is very frustrating.
I have browsed various forums and implemented changes which have had no effect whatsoever including the SAP Marketplace.
We are also receiving SetPrompts Failed errors. When a report is opened in Infoview and you refresh a report, a blank dialog appears with a red cross. if you refresh the report again then the SetPrompts Failed error appears. I have evene made changes according to article 1364437 based on this error and this has not resolved the issue.
    Regards
    Dipendra

We're on BOXI3.1 SP2 aswell and we have had the same sporadic issue - Cannot open document for Deski reports. This is causing some serious concern amongst our users over system stability.
You can recreate the situation by shutting down the InputFileRepository server and you get the same message. I've noticed that when this happens there is a mesage in the fcproc log file 'm_repFileMgr.Download failed'
My theory is that there may be some congestion in linking between the desktopintelligence server and the inputfilerepository. In addition, we had some logging on the fileserver and at the time of the error there was no mention of the report that failed or any error. We contacted SAP about this but did not get a satisfactory response. There were some heavily utilised DESKi reports which we managed to convert to Webi to take the load off and we also dropped the timeout to 20 minutes (not brilliant but it did mean that if we got the message the users wouldn't have to wait too long before it was resolved in case they couldn't get hold of IT).
I also upped the parameter for Maximum Retries for File Access in case it was having problems getting the file.
The result of this was that the error appeared to go away... until yesterday!!!
    Any further insights welcome.

  • Cannot open document (Error: INF) / Session is closed (Error: INF )

    SAP BO XI3.1
last time I face this one but suddenly disappear during testing, now we once again face this issue. As all users are member of group 'EveryOne' if we add any user membership to administrator group / master group this error resolved for this user.but that is not proper solutions, so far i m unable to find the rights which is lacking to all user for these report which are available in each user infoview and causing these errors while viewing.
    Open Document error message:
    While viewing Web Intelligence reports
[Session is closed (Error: INF )|http://yfrog.com/0cwebirightsp|Session is closed (Error: INF )]
    While viewing Desktop Intelligence reports
[Cannot open document (Error: INF )|http://yfrog.com/mjdeskirightsp|Cannot open document (Error: INF )]

You might need to give read rights to the folder and category this report belongs to???
If the problem is fixed when the user who is viweing is an administrator, this means there is insufficient privileges for the other users.

  • Red Blue issue with published DeskI Report in InfoView

    Hi everyone,
i'm expieriencing a strange behaviour with my published DeskI Reports.
I'm using logos in my report and they work just fine... in my full client. As soon as I publish them to InfoView and open them up in the browser, then somehow the color red and blue interchange. Red becomes blue and vice versa...
    My System consists of:
    BOE R 3.1 SP2
    Win Server 2008
    DeskI and WebI
Has anyone expirienced the same issues?
    Thanks and kr,
    Nils

    Hi Stratos,
so far everything is just fine. Hope you are doing great too.
    my IE version is: 7.0.5730.13
    Tomcat version: 5.5.20
If I click on the logos in InfoView, nothing happens.
I tested 3 different ways to implement them:
    1) via link; pictures shows up, but again with the red blue issue
    2) as an object; pictures shows up; also w/ the red blue issue
    3) inserted a cell, and pasted the picture in it, pictures shows up; also w/ the red blue issue
The strange thing is, that this issue only appears in the browser.
    Thanks,
    Nils

  • Large DeskI report in Infoview

    Hi,
I am getting error u2018No server was available to process the request. Please try again later. (Error RFC 00101) (Error: INF)" while opening a DeskI report in Infoview (BOXIR2 SP4).
Same error appears while viewing scheduled instances of this report. There are more than 1 million rows in the report. WebI report with same data runs properly. No issue in DeskI full client.
I applied the workarounds mentioned in the SAP notes 1199258, 1199491, etc. Also tried using dedicated servers for the report; no impact.
    Please advice.
    Regards,
    Hitesh

    Hi Hitesh,
Following information might help you to resolve the issue.
Issue might be related to timeouts on the connection server.
Please login into CMC and go Home>servers , locate Input and Output File servers and modify timeout of each to be 60 minutes. Default is 10 mins
This 10min default value can be modified in the registry as well:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suit 11.5\File Server\Instances\input.<machine name>
There is a registry key called u201CServerMaxIdleTimeu201D. Modify it and change the decimal value to 90 (default is 10, max is 90).
After this change is made, please restart CMS and FRS servers and test same again. Please let me know the results.
    Regards,

    Hi Hitestwar,
    Try these notes as well
1363743 - '(DA0005)... no default driver specified state: IM002' and 'RFC 00101 Error INF' errors when refreshing a deskI report in InfoView
1202263 - Error: "No server was available to process request. Please try again later. (Error: RFC 00101) (Error: INF)"
1336210 - when refreshing Desktop Intelligence report in InfoView "No server was available to process request. Please try again later. (Error: RFC 00101) (Error: INF)"
1423194 - "No Server was available to process the request. Please try again later. (Error: RFC 00101) (Error: INF)" when refreshing a DeskI document in InfoView
1200315 - No server was available to process the request. Please try again later(Error:RFC 00101)(Error:INF)
You can do another thing in the "Help & Support" section on the http://service.sap.com/support/ search for "Error RFC 00101" you will get more references to this issue.
Or try to set logs on the server and check what is happening.

  • RAS error - Cannot open report document. --- 0x80004005

I am using RAS to open and examine a number of Crystal Reports and everything is working fine with the exception of 1 report.  I can publish this report to a different BOE system and examine it fine without error using the same code, so I am trying to understand why the process is failing.  The specific error thrown is:

We had a similar problem when opening a deskI report with the pdf-viewer. It was solved by the following:
DesktopIntelligenceProcessingServer : at the end of the textbox Command Line Parameters, change -allowSilentRefresh false in -allowSilentRefresh true
DesktopIntelligenceCacheServer : at the end of the textbox Command Line Parameters, change -allowSilentRefresh false in -allowSilentRefresh true
