  • Deskjet 3070a - Deskjet 3070A - replaced cartridges but now it stopped printing black

    Hi,
I just replaced all my cartridges but the black colour is gone - I even tried to replace the black cartridge but it did not solve the issue.
The printer is out of warranty but I spend a lot of money on new ink so I would appriciate to receive advice on how to solve this issue.

The document here may help black not printing on your Deskjet 3070a.  Be sure to check the vents as shown in solution three.
How far out of warranty? You can check with HP's warranty tool here.  What country are you located in?

  • Deskjet 1512 Printer will not install....

    Hi
I have a Deskjet 1512 "All in one" printer.
I have followed the setup and installation instructions down to the last comma- and still some 6.5 hours later- I still have a new printer that does not work.
    I am running Windows XP / Service Pack 3 / Dotnet 3.5
I ran the installation disk (provided), made a cup of tea, ticked the boxes, answered the questions.
When prompted (and only when prompted) - connected my Printer and USB lead to the computer... that's where the issues began.
The "Full Feature" whistles and bells software began to try  and detect my device.
It was beaten to it by Windows Harward "Wizard" - telling me it had detected a new device....but it could not be installed "Due to a missing Module".
About 2 seconds later - the HP "Full Feature" software spits out it's dummy and tells me to connect my printer and check the USB lead......
So- I replaced ther USB lead with 4 different ones I have spare, as well as try all the various USB ports on my computer.
    Still the same issue.
    However-
The Scanner had installed- and works fine.
So I attempted a forced "Backdoor" installation of the printer drivers- via Windows Hardware Manager.
This all looked so promising- the Drivers finally looked as if they were installing.
At 99%, the Hardware Manager pop-up informed me that my "device had been install successfully"....
About 1 second later- another pop-up appears- now telling me that it wasn't possible to "complete an action"? and that my "device was not installed".
A brief flick through driver manager showed me that my scanner was installed, but the Printer wasn't.
I completely uninstalled the HP software, and then Dot Net.... cleaned all Temp files, and removed all rogeu Registry Entries.
Then Restarted my computer (after checking that USB 2 was enabled in the Bios- which it was)
I then re-installed the upto date Dot Net (downloaded via HP website), and the Up to date "Full Feature" software (also courtesy of the HP website).....and.....
    ......still the same.
    In short- I have tried:
Removing all previous installations of the HP software and Dot Net 3.5
    Reinstalling all of the above
    4 x Different USB leads
All the different USB ports on my PC
Swearing and Cursing (usually works with Microsoft Products only)
The only thing I have NOT tried, is Witch Craft and Country Dancing.
Any further suggestions would be much appreciated......

    Hi again
As I have pointed out in my previous postings-
I have updated my version of XP, it's service Packs and also the version of DotNet- which I downloaded from this forum, and have double checked that it is the most up to date- which it is.
I have tried to "Copy" documents on the printer, and it does not do anything.
A warning light (beside the X button) flashes Orange.
I then tried to scan the document as a JPEG image- and that worked fine, it scanned, and saved with no problem whatsover.
I have tried (about 8 times now), the "Device Setup Failed to Complete" - and that pretty much states the obvious things to check when something doesn't work- the same things I have been checking for the last 6 or so days.
The Issue, is something with the software, as the drivers will not install to be able to operate the device correctly- despite attempting Various Uninstalls, Re-installs and manual installs.
In simple terms, installing the driver manually is fine; until it gets to the last stage- and then it stops and windows (kindly) informs me that "My printer was not installed as their was a problem".....it won't state what problem.
By using the HP installer; you go through the processes, and when asked to connect the printer, the HP software doesn't detect it, (though the XP Device Manager does).
    I have tried so far:
The Troubleshooting guide (as mentioned above, just seems to state the obvious)
8 Different USB leads of differing lengths.
All 6 of the USB ports on my computer- which otherwise work with other devices.
Un-installing the HP software, cleaning all traces from TEMP files and the Registry, restarting my computer and re-installing.
Manually installing the Printer using Windows Hardware Manager
Copying a document on the Printer - that doesn't work.
Scanning a Document on the Printer (That DOES work)
Ensuring that my version of Windows XP is up to date.
I have the latest version of Dot Not installed- which I have.
Installing "Next Driver down"- which does install the device, but it won't print.
I have been Unable to try another machine as yet, as I don't have another available.
But that I think is my next port of call.
Thanks for your help on this.

  • Photosmart C6180 All-in-One: Replace cartridge message after already having replaced cartridge

Would appreciate ideas on how to resolve this issue with Photosmart C6180 All-in-one Printer.
Receiving "Cannot Print, Replace the following empty ink cartridge(s) to resume printing."
Replaced cartridge with newly purchased cartridge (so not expired) and still receiving same message.
    Thoughts?

All cartridges (from original to replaced ) were HP ink cartridges.
    No refills.
    No non-HP ink.
    All are now within expiration.
Issue appeared when yellow cartridge ran out of ink.
    Printed black .
Went to store ( STAPLES ) and purchased 02 yellow XL plus 02 combo pack .
Replaced yellow with 02 yellow XL.
It did not recognize new replacement cartridge.
Replaced yellow with 02 yellow from combo.
Again did not recognize second new replacement cartridge.
Per HP, replaced  'expired" cartridges (not yellow).
     No change.
Did Power on Reset / reseat all cartridges OR reset voodoo.
Iink levels still 0 but able to print self test  in color and  photo.
Turned off PC and printer for 2 days.
Now back to three cartridges at ink level 0 and 2 need to bne replaced.
    Only prints black.
I tried Power on Reset and repalce cartridges, but same result : Black only : replace empty ink cartridges.

  • Deskjet 1512 not printing

    Hello!
I looked through the first 10 pages of topics to see if this was brought up, but it hasn't or I didn't see it, but here it goes.
Today, I purchased a Deskjet 1512 All in one at Walmart. I installed the printer and drivers without issues. The printer appears online and when I try to print, the printer just won't print out the documents. I tried everything that the users manual suggest, but with no success. I pulled up the printer page, and it shows the document as printing and a few seconds later it disappears, as if the printing was completed - but it is not -. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and the printer and it says it was successfully installed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello Evelynrm,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand the printer is completing partial print jobs. First, I would like you to perform a hard reset. I will provide instructions on how to perform this task:
    1. While the printer is on, unplug the power cord from the printer, and its current electrical outlet.
    2. Hold down the power button on the printer for 30 seconds, while it is unplugged. This drains all the electricity out of the machine.
    3. Connect the one end of the power cord into the back of the printer.
    4. Connect the other end to a direct wall outlet (not a surge protector or power strip). This will ensure the machine can obtain more electricity, since lack of electricity can generate issues like this.
    5. Now, try to generate a copy.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, I would install the latest firmware on the printer. I have provided a document on how to update the printer: Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates
If the issue is still not resolved, try printing a test page from the printer itself and see if the same behavior occurs. Let me know the results!

  • OS 10.5.8 Driver for HP Deskjet 1512

I have a Power PC G4 running OS 10.5.8 and have received an HP 1512 printer as a gift.  The installation disk gives a message that the printer can’t be installed on this computer.  Is there a driver that would allow the G4 to control this printer?

    hp says no way...

But I'd try another installed hp driver for a close model...
Mac OS X 10.5.3: Printer drivers included in the HP Printer Driver Update v1.1.1 - Apple Support
Or maybe Gimp-Print driver close enough...

Hp deskjet 1512 trying to connect to my Hp chromebook 14

    Hi,
For the Deskjet 1512 you will need to install it on another PC or a Mac and share it with your Chromebook device using Google Cloud Print, a USB printer cannot be directly connected to a Chromebook.
You may follow these steps to get the printer working on your Chromebook:

  • HP Deskjet 2520hc color cartridge error message

HP Deskjet 2520hc color cartridge error messageAfter turning on the printer the ink indicator shows 3/4 color cartridge. Before the advent of the issue printed approximately 100 pages. After you print the first worksheet, an error is raised: the color cartridge is damaged. ... Print quality is good, including photos. To print the next page you need to turn off the printer and turn it back on. After printing error occurs again. All the recommended steps: cleaning the contacts of the printer, rebooting, no result is given. Ask for professional help.

Hey , The cartridges you used when you got it are SET-UP cartridges and it says that on the side of the cartridge, correct? If so, they are used to initialize the printer but not made for longevity or high print yield.  After the set-up cartridges you have to purchase normal cartridges that have significantly higher page yields and contain more ink. I'm sorry that you are not in a position to purchase more ink right now but unfortunately for you to continue printing you need all the ink cartridges and will have to invest in new cartridges while the others run out. To conserve ink try printing all your documents in black only. Your color ink cartridges will run out a lot slower. (be aware that even when printing in standard color and printing black text documents, you will still be drawing color ink.) Hope this clears this up for you a bit. Have a great day!

  • Cannot replace cartridges.

The cartridge carriage will not return to the central position for replacing cartridges when the door is opened. Had no trouble until now. Model F4400 All-In-One series. How to resolve issue?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi,
You can power off the printer, unplug the power cable then try to move carriage which holds the cartridges to center from where you can access the cartridges.
Make sure there is no such object stopping to move carriage on its way.
Try to move left to right and right to left when the power cable is unplugged.
If you feel the carriage is moving freely then you can insert the cartridges back then power on the printer.

  • New Deskjet 1512 prints fonts incorrectly.

Just installed a new Deskjet 1512, and while it does print right out of the box, it doesn't rpint the correct font.  How do I make the printer use correct font?  Running Windows 7 on my PC.  12 20 14

    Hey @mewsician ,
Thanks a lot for the question, now lets get you an answer!
So my name is Zac and I will be your 1 to 10 HP Support Representative today. I understand you just got a new HP DeskJet 1512 printer and you got it all set up and printing. congratulations! I see you are getting wrong font printing out on the printer and you want to make the printer type the right font.
The printer does not control the font, the computer that you are printing with does. You need to change the font on the computer. Printers are not capable of changing font as they are not involved in the creation of the document/picture process at all, they just print out what they are told to from the computer. It is simply impossible for the printer to alter the font, even if you tried to.
I hope this helps. Have a great day and a wonderful/ safe holiday season.
