    Hello lidixia,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue when attempting to install the printer on to your computer and then printing any thing other than a test page.
Please make sure that you have disabled any Windows Firewalls and any Anti Virus protection you may have running and then attempt to reinstall the software and drivers again.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, : click here.

I was trying to scan a document using this new printer and my Mac OS Yosemite 10.10.1 and I cannot even find the page that allows me to scan since now it is all through the computer.  Is this printer compatible with this operating system? and if so, what can I do to see the page where the file actually shows up to scan?
    thanks,

  • Is it possible to connect HP DESKJET 1510 All-in-One series Wireless printer without USB cable?

my mom recently bought me the HP DESKJET 1510 All-in-One series so i have an at home printer for school work. but when we bought it we did not know there was a certain USB that had to connect to the printer. so we bought the wrong one. now i have a project due and i cannot print. we have a small USB that fits it but its hard to connect it to the computer and printer because its so small. so if we can have it sent to the printer without the USB that would be perfect!

    Hi,
No, in many cases printers won't come with USB cables. You need a cable which is similar to the following one:

Hello there lcastor050, Welcome to the forums.
I understand you are unable to download the drivers for your Deskjet 2540 as the installation stalls on you. I am going to post you a link to the drivers and software download page. You will need to select your operating system and then download the driver from there.

  • My brand new HP Deskjet 1510 all-in-one series Cant print

This new HP 1510 All in one series that I just bought is not consistent in printing and most of the times it picks the paper and makes a bipping sound and then stops. It will then give a printing error report and spit out the paper with no print. This is driving me crazy. I have uninstalled and installed a couple of times but the problem persists. At times it prints and at times it doesn't. you can barely tell when it is going to print and most of the times it doesnt. I really need suggestions please

Hello there @Drawingston , welcome to the forums
I read your post about your Deskjet 1510 not printing consistently from your Windows 8.1 system, and when it prints, the pages are blank. I will surely try to help you!
I would suggest that you try a few things, they are:
Run the Print and Scan Doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. Please send me the results in a screen shot or write them in a response.
Try a different USB cable that runs directly from the back of the printer, to the PC.
Click this guide and try cleaning the paper rollers: The Printer Does Not Pick Up or Feed Paper
Reset the printer and make sure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors.
Try printing again from more than one program.
Let me know all of the results
    Good luck!

  • Connecting hp deskjet 2540 all in one

How do I connect my go desckjet 2540 all in one to my iPad and iphone?

    Hi @Krissy13
Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you get your Deskjet 2540 onto your network. I use this method for iPads, iPhones and other devices that do not have software.
Restore the network defaults on the printer by pushing the wireless button, going to settings, and then restore defaults. The wireless button should then start flashing, this means it is now in autowireless mode.
Connect your iPad to the network that the printer is broadcasting. It is usually HP-setup-2540 and then part of the MAC address (printers hardware address). The wireless light will still be flashing on the printer at this point, this is normal since this is not an actual adhoc connection.
Open an internet browser and load up the Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering the IP address into the address bar. The default IP for autowireless is 192.168.223.1.
Go to the network tab along the top of the EWS.
Click on Wireless Setup Wizard along the left hand side to begin configuring the printer.
Once the printer is on the network, you can put your computer back on your own network and print again.
If for any reason this does not work, please let me know what operating system , and version you have? Mac or Windows?

  • HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-One

I accidentallly changed my permissions when setting up the wireless aspect of my printer and in the "Security" tab within properties i changed the tickboxes for "Everyone" to deny for all three options and i cannot access the properties or software to change this. I wish to know how gain access back into the properties while the printer is wireless or to be able to completely reset the printer to factory settings.
    Thank you.

    Hi mari136,
I had searched high and low, there is evidently no full reset to restore the printer to a factory setting; however, I found a different reset we can try. Please complete the steps below.
Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time
        Hold them for 5 seconds.
If the wireless button is no longer on, press the Wireless button from the printer control panel to turn it back on.
Leave the printer on, and unplug the power cable for 1 minute, then plug the power back in.
Now you can proceed with the wireless setup again. Please let me know if this helps.
