Deskjet 2560 Windows XP: gear, crunch-like noise after changing the black cartridge, no print
After having changed the black cartridge, the cartridge holder tray went on teh rest position. I launched a new print and heard a crunch-like noise on the tray, as something was trying to gear up. After a while the cartridge holder came back to the rest position but no printing was obtained.
Thanks for your support

Hello,
what concerns your wish about an uinstaller, so you should use
https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs3-product-downloads.html >>> AND note this "Read before you download a CS3 product". And esp, "You need your CS3 serial number to complete the installation" but this shouldn't be a problem for you, because you had an official version and so you can use all these informations like https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html

Hi,
Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 domain join displays error "Changing the Primary Domain DNS name of this computer to "" failed...."
DC:windows Server 2008 R2
Domain functional level:Windows Server 2003
When Winxp join domain, have no this error message.
I checked http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2018583?wa=wsignin1.0 does't work.
There have 3 suggestion in this article:
1.The "Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" checkbox has been disabled in the IPv4 properties of the computer being joined.
Doesnt's work.
2.Connectivity over UDP port 137 is blocked between client and the helper DC servicing the join operation in the target domain.
On my DC, I run netstat -an, reslut as below:
UDP 192.168.20.3:137 *:*
3.The TCP/IPv4 protocol has been disabled so that the client being joined or the DC in the destination domain targeted by the LDAP BIND is running TCP/IPv6 only.
We are not using IPV6.
This server recently updated from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 R2. Before upgrade, when Win7 and Win2008 join this domain, also have the same error message.
Please help to check this issue.
Thank you very much.

Guo YingHuiHi Guo Ying,
I have faced this critical error which makes over-writes the host names in the domain when you join.
For example: Already you had a host name called as PC.domain.com in the domain.com Domain.
When you try to add the another host name called as PC in the domain.com Domain, it doesn't give you the duplicate name error on the network it does over-write the existing host name called as PC.domain.com & it will add the new host name into the domain.
Host name which got over-written will get removed from the domain. I faced this issue in my project. My DPM host name got removed from the Domain & new host name got joined into the domain which halted my backups for one day.
Final Resolution is as follows:
You need to start the dns console on the DC & drop down the domain name.
Select the _msdcs when you click on _msdcs it will show the Name Server's list on the right hand side.
You need to add the Domain Naming Master under the _msdcs or add all the domain controllers which you had.
After you add the Name server's try joining the PC OR Laptop to the domain which is successfully joins it.

Hi, I have upgraded from a windows computer to a MAC, how do I change the platform for my CS5, thanks
You don't. Platform swaps only apply to current versions. You need to buy at least the CS6 upgrade and make the switch.

When I print from my iPad the page comes out of the printer with what looks like a miniature version of the page that I printed. But when I print from my iPhone it prints perfectly. Does anyone know why or how I can change my iPad setting so that it prints things full scale?

Mm, yes, if you mean Address Book. Difficult… but, conceivably, doable.

Eminently possible in Pages. Get a template (or employ the one used with MS Word) and look up Merge Fields in the Pages user guide. -

Windows 7 / Arch Linux Dual-Boot - win7 keeps changing the boot flag!
Greetings!
Its been a long while since I had to dual-boot with windows on the same machine.
I 've installed windows 7 and then arch linux and installed GRUB on my sda1 where the /boot partitions is located at.
I've managed to boot into arch successfully and later into windows also successfully.... but when i tried to boot into arch again I wasn't greeted with the typical GRUB boot screen... grub was ignored completely and win7 booting began as if it was the only OS in my hard drive.
I've used the gparted live cd and realized that the boot flag has changed from my /boot partition (sda1) to my windows partition (sda2). I've changed it back and I was able to boot into arch again. but when I rebooted to win7 and then to arch the same thing has happened. The boot flag keeps changing whenever im rebooting into windows making impossible for me to boot with GRUB unles I manually change the flag again.
I haven't installed GRUB into the MBR because I hear it is a bad practice when you have a windows OS also installed (something with service packs not being able to install, among other things). I also don't want to use the easyBCD method to boot arch using the win7 loader.
here is the partition scheme on my 500gb sata drive :
/dev/sda1 /boot 250mb (primary)
/dev/sda2 windows 7 ntfs 100gb (primary)
/dev/sda3 swap 4gb (primary)
/dev/sda5 / 16gb (logical)
/dev/sda6 /var 8gb (logical)
/dev/sda7 /home the rest of the hd space (logical)
What am I doing wrong and how do i prevent the boot flag from changing?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

bumping this because i have the EXACT same problem !
however i installed grub to sda1 because i didnt want my installs to mess with each other (not that ive had any problems with grub in mbr though...) .
this just looked cleaner to me.
if anyone has figured out how to prevent windows from automagically changing the bootgflag, id like to know !
but maybe this is a question more suitable for a windoze forum

/edit: seriously, ive been searching the net for some time now, including irc chans and there seems to be no solution to this ! all threads similar to this just end dead !
i hate how windows claims to own my computer!
1. don't necrobump
2. as mentioned in the thread, just install grub to mbr and chainload windows. It works just fine and is the easiest way to get it working reliable. -
Would like to understand WHY changing the IP address seems to make a difference.
I have had significant difficulty getting my WRT54G v5 to pass to the internet multiple pcs connected by cable and/or wireless. Default settings seemed to work fine to log into the LAN, but only 1 connection would go to the internet. I called Linksys tech support and they successfully got me over at least the initial hurdle so that my 2 main pcs can now function, and a 3rd seems to also get through. I've seen in this forum a BUNCH of similar posts, including some which say that success only lasts for brief periods of time.
What changed to get mine to work???.......192.168.1.1 was changed to 192.168.2.1. What I'd like to understand is.......why does that make a difference?
I am not a networking technical guru by any means, but am I a novice to technical discussion. Simply changing the address to go from not working to working does not make sense to me, and I'd like it to make sense so I can support this thing without spending hours every weekend.
Linksys, can you please explain? The address pool of the DHCP server are just the IP addresses which the DHCP server uses to assign them to devices which ask for an IP address via DHCP (e.g. computers which are set to obtain their IP address automatically). The DHCP server automatically supplies those devices with an IP address and assigns the correct subnet mask, gateway address, and dns servers.
This has nothing to do which IP address actually have internet access or not. After the device got its IP configuration from the DHCP server this configuration works just like any other configuration you may statically configure on some other devices.
The router connects all IP addresses inside your LAN to the internet as long as the devices use the router IP address as default gateway.
If you router has an LAN IP address 192.168.1.1 and a subnet mask 255.255.255.0 these two numbers together define that all addresses 192.168.1.* are part of the LAN. 192.168.1.0 is a special purpose address. 192.168.1.255 is the broadcast address of this LAN. Everything from 192.168.1.1-254 are normal IP addresses inside your LAN (with .1 obviously allocated by your router). Operating as gateway between the LAN and the internet the router accepts traffic from any of the LAN addresses and forwards it into the internet and receives the responses and sends them back into your LAN.
For the routing/gateway part of the router it is irrelevant where the device got its IP address from. This part does not know about the DHCP server. All that matters here is that the IP address is valid and inside the LAN subnet. If the device has a static IP address or DHCP assigned IP address does not matter.
It does not matter which IP address range the DHCP server assigns. Linksys uses 100-149 as default. Some other routers assign 2-100. Some others assign 2-254. Assign whatever you like. Orderly people split their subnet into various parts, e.g. assigning 10-19 to NAS devices with static IP, 20-29 for printers with static IP, 30-39 for VOIP phones with static IP, 50-99 for DHCP, 240-249 for other networking gear. Or in any other way.
The only important thing is not to assign a static IP address inside the DHCP server address pool. The DHCP server checks whether an IP address is used before it assigns it. If, however, the device with the static IP address inside the DHCP address pool is temporarily down, the DHCP server does not know that the IP address is used otherwise and thus may assign this address to another device. Now, once the device with the static IP address comes up again you have an IP address conflict. Therefore, never assign a static IP address inside the DHCP server address pool. -
Windows Task Scheduler executing old triggers even after recreating the task
I had this task working perfectly until I changed the schedule. After I changed the scheduled time 5 minutes earlier, I noticed that in the history, it still triggers the old schedule. I tried restarting the server, deleting the task and recreating it even
without a trigger and it's still executing the task with the old trigger. The attached screenshot shows that the task doesn't have a trigger but as you can see in the history it's still trying to execute the task. How does the Windows Task Scheduler work?
Is there a file or database that I can purge the old task?
I also tried applying this hotfix but it didn't seem to fix the issue:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2461249
NOTE: This is Windows 2008 R2 and the Error message in the history is: Task Scheduler failed to start "<the
name of my task>" task for user "<the
user>". Additional Data: Error Value: 2147750689.Since batch job can be run manually without error, cmd.exe is not the problem.
I researched and found that the problem may be due to exhausted desktop heap and the solution is to increase the value.
Please try this step:
1. restart the server first and test again (a simple solution that may work)
2. if the first attempt fail, take a full backup first and attempt to increase desktop heap
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH48099
Yes THAT WAS THE SOLUTION FOR THE ISSUE. !!
Now its working perfect!!
Why now its working and not before? Because after made the changes to the registry,
RESTART IS NECESSARY to apply the changes and I have done it yesterday night (this server is working 24x7, so its hard to find a moment to restart it).
Thanks for all to help me with this issue!!! I really, really ,really ,really apreciate !!!
THANKS !!!!! -

Hi jhpjr,
Are you converting a PDF to another format using ExportPDF, or converting a file to PDF? If you're using ExportPDF, the quality of the conversion depends on the quality of the original PDF file. Please see Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and form... | Adobe Community for an explanation of how ExportPDF converts files.
If your PDF wasn't created from a scanned document, you may have better luck by disabling OCR as described in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community

How do you say it? Like "multi language only in the black level/plate"
hello, I'm trying to find the best words to describe a feature of our new database publishing solution.
The features is called: CMY+nK
You need it when you are really committed to savings in a large print job.
With http://pagination.com you can easily plan the production of your multilanguage documents as a process unifying a single batch print of the color plates (CMY) and one black plate for each language (nK). In this case, the reduced number of plates and the lower portion of time the operators in the print shop spend switching plates and handling the paper generate savings.
Do you think these words are clear, or do you refer to the topic with other words? What you are describing is “versioning” by use of language-dependent content on the K (black) plate, typically implemented in PDF by use of layers in both your original content as well as in your generated PDF. The first pass you print CMY only. The second pass you print K-only for both the common layer (always on) and the particular version or edition you want, in your example that being based on language. This is a fairly common print practice. However, it requires extreme discipline in the layout of your source document.
