Deskjet 3050 J610 series

I have reinstalled my printer and have shared it with everyone on my network, but my son's computer keeps saying the printer is offline.  How do I remedy this situation?

Our new wireless printer will not scan.  I have tried to scan from the computer and get the below error message and then I have activated the scan from printer and when I push the scan button on the printer, I get the same error message.
    Thanks!
    Product Name: HP Deskjet 3050 J610 Printer/Scanner/Copier
    Operating System: Windows 7
Error Message: The HP Deskjet 3050 J610 series was not found - when trying to scan.

I had some problem. I found you must use HP 'Update IP address' program to add printer instead use window add printer.  All programs -> HP ->HP Deskjet 3050 610 series -> Update IP address.

  • Error when trying to scan from my HP DeskJet 3050 J610 (com.apple.ImageCaptureCore -9929.)

When trying to use my HP DeskJet 3050 J610 series I get an error (com.apple.ImageCaptureCore -9929.)  It can't scan.  Anyone know how to fix it?

The error is ICReturnScannerFailedToSelectFunctionalUnit, but I am not sure what that means. Is there an HP disgnostic available? Are the drivers current? Maybe HP has some experience with this error.

  • Deskjet 3050 J610 Wifi Printing on Windows 8.1

So I've successfully Connected my printer wirelessly to my router. Its an HP Desjet 3050 J610 Series.
    Steps reproduced.
    - Installed Drivers (Run as admin)
    - Setup Printer over Wifi via HP setup. Success. I'm even able to ping my printer!
    - Print a test page Over wifi...Error!
    - Used WPS Sync Button on both Printer and Wifi Router..Failed
    - Reset PC.
    - Uninstall/Re-Install Drivers. Still Failing.
    End
Priting works fine Via USB but not over wifi. I have a Linsys E1200 Router. I've also checked Printer/File sharing is enabled, & ran the Windows Auto Troubleshooter. But no dice, status displays "Error" on Device and Printer Settings.

    Hello LL_01,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see you have been trying to setup the Deskjet 3050 on Windows 8.1 over WiFi, it will allow you to ping the printer but not print.
See if the Print and Scan Dr is able to locate the printer over the network and print with it.
If unable, try reconfiguring the printer via USB, these steps removed from this guide: Installing the Printer Software for a Wireless Network Connection.
Optional : If you previously installed the software for a USB connection and now want to change to a wireless network connection, follow these instructions to remove the USB installation before you continue.
Right-click the Start button ( ) or the lower left corner of the screen, and then clickSearch .
In the Search box, type HP , and then click the icon for your printer. The printer software opens.
Click Utilities , and then click Printer Setup & Software Selection .
Click Convert a USB connected printer to wireless or Connect a new printer (the phrase differs depending on the version of software your computer is running).
Follow the on-screen instructions to finish installing the software. Once the printer has been set up on the wireless network, there is no need to continue with the steps in this document.

  • Deskjet 3050 J610 Wireless Setup Problem - Thinks I'm using MAC filtering

I just got an HP Deskjet 3050 J610 from my parents, who have never used it.  The ink cartridges were still in their wrappers.  Trying to set it up tonight, and everything was going well until I tried connecting it to the wireless network.
My router does not have WPS, so I'm having to do this via USB.  The software is able to detect my router's SSID, encryption type, and password.  However, when trying to connect the printer to the router, it fails.  The Wireless Network Test Report claims that it might be because of MAC address filtering.  I double checked my router settings, and I am NOT using MAC filtering at all.  I have not yet tried rebooting everything (Printer, laptop, router), but I am doubtful that will resolve the issue.  For security reasons, I would prefer not to say what security I'm using, but I will say that it IS supported by the printer.
I'm using Windows 7 on an Asus laptop, and my ISP is Verizon Fios.

Hi Manjunath, I spent the last hour on that site.  Everything I found was about how to add the printer's MAC address to the router's filter settings.  But I repeat, I am NOT using MAC filtering on my router, but the printer thinks I am.
    Or rather... THOUGHT I was.
Rebooting the printer and the router helped.  Of course, I did both at the same time, so I'm not sure which one was required, or both, but the long and the short of it is, it works now.

  • Deskjet 3050 J610 will not install on Mavericks or new Router

I have had a deskjet 3050 J610 for a couple years and it has worked fine with our MacBook Pro (with the exception of updates) .  We recently restored our MacBook and added Mavericks.  We also have a new netgear modem/router.  We can not connect the printer to our network or to the laptop wirelessly.  Here is what has happened so far after spending hours attempting everything we could find online with no sucess......
-I can print from the Mac with a USB cable connected to printer
-I've restored the printers default settings
-Printed the HP Network Configuration Page and it shows our Network
It says my HP printer cannot find the access point.
Everything passed except network name found....this failed
    Network status-Offline
embedded web server-http://0.0.0.0      I can't even get to the webpage
    network name (SSID)-HPJ610a.0798A0
    ip address-not applicable
The blue light for wireless flashes on printer.
When I go to Wireless Menu it says wireless radio is on.
My next option is Settings, Under Settings I have Disable, WPS and Defaults.
Under WPS I get Push Button or PIN......neither worked.
Printer DOES NOT have a wireless setup wizard!
I have checked for updates on the Mac and do not have any (Original CD not compatible with Mavericks).  When I go to System Preferences-Print/Scan, it shows the printer as disabled.  I tryed downloading software & drivers from HP's website, but when I go to my Applications menu, there is not an HP folder/icon.
    PLEASE HELP!!

    Hi,
Currently a full feature software is not available for your products for Mavericks, however there are some other workarounds to connect the printer to your network.
Please follow these steps to create a temporary ad-hoc connection and then set the wireless connection through the printer's EWS page:
On the printer click on Wireless, then select Reset Wireless.
Turn the printer Off and back On.
If the wireless light is not blicking, click the wireless button and turn the Wireless Radio On.
From your Mac click the Wireless icon and then on Join Other Networks.
Click on Show network and connect to the printer SSID which includes J610 as part of its name.
Note: Allow 1-2 minutes to fully establish the temporary connection.
Open Safary, then click the Bonjour menu and select the listed Deskjet 3050.
Note: if there is no Bonjour option at the top menu, click Safary > Preferences > Advanced and check both of the Include Bonjour options at that screen. click OK and the Bonjour menu will appear.
Go to Network / Wireless and follow the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect the printer to your home network.
On your Mac click the WiFi icon and reconnect the Mac to your home network.
Now both your Mac and the printer are connected to your network, go to Printers & Scanners and add the printer by clicking the plus sign.

  • My Deskjet 3050 J610 will not connect to my Virgin WiFi router for use with Apple Mac laptop.

I live in the UK and have Broadband access via a Virgin connection and WiFi router. My Apple MacBook laptop connects to the WiFi with no difficulties. However I have an HP Deskjet 3050 J610 printer which will not connect to the router. When I try to connect, the blue light just keeps on flashing but a connection is not found. Consequently my MacBook cannot "see" the printer on the network. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Hi Anna,
I afraid the Deskjet 3050 (J610) does not support any web service as ePrint or Print Apps.
Only the Deskjet 3050A (J611) support ePrint as you may find listed below:

WHEN i TRY TO SCAN USING MY DESKJET 3050 j610 A MESSAGE SHOWS 'COMMUNICATION  PROBLEM NOT CONNECTED THEREFORE i AM NOT ABLE TO SCAN.
i HAVE BEEN TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM OVER 8 HOURS AND I' M GETTING SICK. I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING AVAILABLE ON THE SUPPORT PROGRAMS INCLUDING 'PAINT' AND NOTHING WORKS.
I NEED A ANSWER OR I;LL THROW THIS THING OUT

I have the same problem here, i have two PC's both running Windows 7 but only one works printing and scanning wirelessly.
On the PC running Windows 7 32bit wireless printing and scanning works great.
On the PC running windows 7 64bit only wireless printing works. Havent found a solution, but just a work around. Here it is......
    1. Got to you printer and hit the Wireless button to find the IP address your router gave it.
    2. Open up your Internet browser and input the IP address.
and...BAM!!!       if it worked it should take you to the Deskjet 3050 All-in-One J610a Embedded Web Server page and from there you can scan with what looks like all the original options if the thing was working to begin with and save to your PC.

After installing the Full Feature Software, at least in many cases involving Windows 8.1 installs of the printer software, you should see a Printer Assistant shortcut on your Desktop.  You can use the Printer Assistant to access the Scan to Document or Photo software package.
Although there is a scan program within the hierarchy of many of the Printer software folders, I have not seen an recent instance where the scan program is a stand-alone executable.  In other words, you must call the Scan package from a parent program, even assuming you can find a "Scan" program in Bin or another similar folder.

  • HP No Longer Supports Deskjet 3050 J610 in Maverick.

I found out today in talking to a HP Customer Service Rep, that they are no longer going to support the HP Deskject 3050 with updated drivers.  This is quite unfortunate because this printer is less then 2 years old and is still very functional.  In fact, there are a number of apps that require an HP printer only that I won't be able to use any longer (one being Grocery  IQ, one of my favs).  As a FYI, the printer can still be used plugged in via USB, but I can no longer get it to connect itself to my wireless network.  It was working initially with Maverick but I made the mistake of having to change the name of my network for security reasons and when I did that, it wouldn't connect to the network again  I literally spent  hours trying to get it to work.  I un-installed and reinstalled software, etc.  The most recent software (downloaded from the Apple website that is suppose to support Maverick) crashes in an attempt to set the printer up.  I even tried it on another of my Macs with the same crash problem.  I did talk to an Applecare advisor who tried to help me but we weren't successful and that's why I ended up calling HP. Apple was even kind enough to call me back to follow up and the advisor was very surprised at the position HP has taken. I've always been partial to Epson but bought the HP for use in a couple of instances where I needed their printer.  Based on this, I won't be purchasing another HP printer any time soon.  I wanted to get this out to the Apple Support Community just in case someone else was having the same problems as I was.  Reply if you have any questions.

This worked for me with my HP printer:
uninstall all HP apps and "utilities"
go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Print
control-click on your printer in the column on the left
select "Reset Printing System..." and "reset" in the dialog that follows
do a factory reset on your printer. You'll have to consult the printer manual for how.
power down everything: modem, router, computer, and printer
power up each item in turn in the same order: modem, router, computer, and printer. Let each power up completely before moving on to the next
enter your wifi password in your printer so it can connect to the network
go back to printers & scanners and it should see your printer and download a driver for it from Apple

  • Deskjet 3050 J610

    Hello,
I moved recently and have a new router along with a new computer, but can't seem to find my software disc to install the printer to the new network or computer. Is there any way to get a new disc or download the software from the internet?

    Hi @dessytini
If you have not uninstalled the software there is no need to reinstall it. You can use the instructions in the following link to reconfigure the printer; Connecting the Printer After Changing Your Wireless Network.
If you have uninstalled the software, and you have a Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 please download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows
The HP Printer Install Wizard for Window was created to help Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 users download and install the latest and most appropriate HP software solution for their HP Printer.
If you do not have Windows 7, 8 , or 8.1, what operating system, and version do you have? Mac or Windows?

  • Deskjet 3050 J610 Can't Assign IP

I recently picked up a wireless printer from HP, and I'm having difficulties setting it up to work wirelessly over my network.
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate and my wireless network is WPA-TKIP. The WPA-TKIP I assume is whats causing the problems. Is there ANY workaround so I can get my printer working? Thanks.

OK, good.  Let's use a different method to connect the printer to the router, WPS.
    1. From the front of the printer, click the blue wireless button and enter the wireless menu.
    2. Select "Restore Network Defaults"
    3. Now, in the same menu, select WPS Pushbutton.
    4. Within 2 minutes of doing this, click the WPS button on your router.
It should connect to the router.  Next, install the software and it should find your printer already on the network.

  • HP Deskjet 3050 J611 series connection to Pace 4111N

I had Comcast internet and used this printer via wireless connection to my home computer via a Netgear wireless router. I now have AT&T internet with their wireless modem and cannot connect this printer to the wireless network. My computer is setup on the new wireless network. I have followed the setup instructions and printer CD software but to no avail. I can print via a USB connection. The modem is a Pace Model 4111N.

    Hi @rlb5253
The HP software automatically gathers network settings by temporarily connecting a USB cable from the printer to a computer that is connected to the new network. Follow these steps to reconnect the printer to the network.
Click the Windows icon (), click All Programs, click HP, and then click the folder for your HP printer.
Click USB to Wireless, and then follow the on-screen instructions. Do not connect the printer to the computer with the USB cable until prompted. At the end of the process you are prompted to remove the USB cable.
Restart any other computers on the network that use the wireless printer.
    - Source
What happens when you try the steps above?  Do you maybe have mac filtering enabled on the router? Mac filtering is not related to Apple or Macs, a devices mac address is its hardware address. Perhaps the router is blocking the connection from being established, thus mac filtering.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
