Deskjet 460c driver installation error

I have a HP Deskjet 460c printer. When I purchased it 3 years ago, the original installation CD worked just fine. Recently the driver became corrupted (all print jobs were double printing over each other), so I un-installed the drivers. When I attempted to run the installation from CD this time, I got an error message that says the installation was unable to be finished, to exit the installation and run it again. This occurs when I download the latest version of the correct drivers from HP as well. My computer is a Toshiba P105-S921 laptop and I am running Windows XP Professional. Does anybody have any inkling as to what is going on with this?

Sometimes, this kind of error occurs. When you go to Device Manager, you can see a small exclamation mark with devices names as "Unknown Device".
So to begin with, this is very common with Bluetooth devices being paired. Drivers may not be available for all the Bluetooth services, so for services without drivers this error message is displayed.
Similarly, when the chipset drivers are not installed properly, Windows will fail to detect the exact hardware components connected to the PC, so the device will be displayed as "Unknown Device".
Hence, make sure you've installed all the mandatory drivers.

  • 32bit DIFx Driver Installer Error when Installing 9.0.2

Never had a previous problem with iTunes and when I went to use it this morning, it crashes everytime. Uninstalled completely, reinstalled 9.0.2 and now I get an error "32bit DIFx Driver Installer" and iTunes "finishs" installing and crashes after opening again. Have tried unsuccessfully to figure out a fix for this. All my children got iPod Touches for Christmas and I got a brand new iPod nano and none of us can use them now. Please help!

Hey guys! So, I experienced the same issues with the newest iTunes update. I updated several days ago, but I used iTunes for the first time since the update today. iTunes would load but immediately display a message that it needed to close. After several attempts to open iTunes, I reinstalled QuickTime as suggested by another website. Also suggested was trying to repair QuickTime and iTunes. When that didn't work, I removed both QuickTime and iTunes and did a clean reinstall from new downloads. When I did this, I got the 32bit DIFx Driver Installer error. It "finished" the install, but it still closed immediately upon opening. I ran Malware-Bytes and Hijack This to check for spyware/adware/mal-ware a few days ago so I was fairly certain my system was clean...but after two hours of trying to figure out this problem, I decided to go ahead and check for virus or malware.
Indeed, I found six files (mostly located in the System Volume Information folder). After having Avast remove these files...iTunes successfully installed without the DIFx error! So much for being "sure" my system was clean. The files found were all related to the Win32:Malware-gen virus.
So I suggest you check your system for malware and virus infection. I did my scan in safe mode and did the most in-depth search that Avast will perform. I highly suggest doing a full search with UPDATED virus program even if you think your computer is okay.
I have had no issues with iTunes after cleaning my computer!

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @Stodgy70
I understand you're facing troubles when installing your Envy 5640 on a Windows Vista system.
After researching the error you're receiving, I would suggest creating a new User Account on the computer and ensuring it has Administrator Privileges, and trying the installation again from there.

    Welcome to the forums Hirocg,
I saw your post about your installation issue with your Deskjet 1015 on Mavericks. I do have some suggestions that might help!
    1. Try the download again and save the file to your Desktop and run it from there to see if that works.
    2. If #1 fails, try Repair disk permissions and try the installation again.
    Good luck!

  • Driver Installation Error, help need

    Hi all,
I just downloaded the newest drivers for my Soundblaster Audigy ZS 2, WinVista 32 bit.
When I try to install, everything goes fine till an error occured (see screen)
    Screen: http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/660/errordj0.jpg
Something with the APOIM installer, any help would greatly be appreciated. I already searched the FAQ and known issues etc.
    Thx in advance, xGj.

Hey I had that same error but?I resolved it.. First download winrar, www.rarlabs.com, second install it and then right click that exe for your driver and click on extract all to that specific folder, for vista the default is downloads, and then just extract and run the setup.exe in that folder and not from the program that you have downloaded from the creative driver website. Worked for me it should work for ya also, Good Luck...

  • Emu 1616m pcmcia cardbus driver installation errors: this device is not config correctly (code1)

Hi, can anyone help, I use a 1616m pcmcia card bus in my dell inspiron laptop, its been working fine no errors for the last year, then suddenly today, I go to use it and no sound, and my DSP reds out, and it states my hardware or drivers my need re-installing. So I have un-installed all software, drivers etc, Then when I insert the pcmcia card bus in, it reconizes it, found new hardware, I tell it to use the driver disc. This is ok, its installing the software, then I get the blue screen of death, crash!. Iv tried it countless times, clearing the registy etc, but if I dont get the blue screen I get an error that my hardware may not work properly blah blah and this error: e-mu e-dsp audio processor (wdm) this device is not configured correctly (code 1).
Do I have to factory reset my laptop and reload everything, days of fun.
Has my well looked after pcmcia card bus broken, just after the year is up!! the irony
Are there better pcmcia controller drivers than: ricoh r5c475(ii) and would they help this issue
does anyone have any ideas please!!

Upon latest reboot, I also received this error message:  "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005).  Click OK to terminate the application."
Then I got the iTunesHelper not installed correctly error again.
Then the "Windows can't check for updates" error message.
Then "Apple Push has stopped working."  Then a quick DEP error message that disappeared but said something about Apple Push being closed.
I'm also getting denials of service logged by McAffee.  Not sure if I'm getting a virus/attack or not.
Not sure if it's a problem with my old desktop machine, my Windows Vista updates, or iTunes, but I'm very frustrated and out of ideas to try.
    Thank you for your help!

  • DVD Player installation error A valid DVD drive could not be found. [-70012]

My iMac has an external "superdrive" and I can't play files .dvdmedia.  On opening the DVD Player I get this message:  There was installation error  A valid DVD drive could not be found. [-70012]
This sent an error message to Apple when I click the OK button.
I have tried to relinstall the DVD player.app from the SnowLeopard disc, but this app was not on the list for custom install.  I have repaired permissions, no help! I have shut down and waited several minutes and restarted, no help.

My continued frustration with this problem lead  me to an archived discussion https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2020977?start=0&tstart=0  This lead me to beleive I need to use the reset password to fully repair my permissions as contained there.  Also while booted in the install disc, I performed a Repair Disc on the StartUp disc.
After all this, when I restarted, the DVD Player was able to play DVDmedia files completely.
So I quess I solved my own problem.

  • HT201372 used this to make a bootable copy for a new hard drive installation. copied the install find but gave error code 110 when making the disk bootable.. Any help in what this code is

Used createinstallmedis to make a copy of the Mavericks app for use in a new hard drive install.. Copied find but gave error code 110 and failed to make the flash drive bootable.. Any help in what errror code means?

Did you partition and format the flash drive first? See the following:
Make Your Own Mavericks, Mountain/Lion Installer
After downloading the installer you must first save the Install Mac OS X application. After the installer downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing.
       2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the leftside list. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list.
Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash drive size.
Make your own Mavericks flash drive installer using the Mavericks tool:
Mavericks has its own built-in installer maker you use via the Terminal:
You will need a freshly partitioned and formatted USB flash drive with at least 8GBs. Leave the name of the flash drive at the system default, "Untitled." Do not change this name. Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. Copy this command line after the prompt in the Terminal's window:
    sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --nointeraction
Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted. It will not be echoed to the screen so be careful to enter it correctly. Press RETURN, again.
Wait for the process to complete which will take quite some time.

The fatal error you got with the B110a is caused by an .msi error. The document below should walk you through that.

The fatal error you got with the B109a might have a different fix. It would depend on the exact error code you received. The document below should help you find the error code and work through the fatal error.

  • Deskjet 6940 - multiple black cartridge 96 installation error messages

I have a new Deskjet 6940.  I installed the black 96 cartridge.  Printer keeps saying it is not installed correctly.  I cleaned the cartridge, ran the jet/bubble test.  Finally I replaced the cartridge, same installation error message.  I do not get the error message for the color 97 cartridge. Is this problem common to the 6940?  Not sure what my options are.  Thanks

have the same problem. We installed cartiridge and did a test page by holding power and cancel buttons at same time. Nothing is showing up for the black cartridge. Maybe cleaning something would help, but I can't find any information on how to access the information using Vista.

  • I erased my HD. Now I can't instal mountain lion from my bootable flash drive, and keep getting "installation error. Try again."

I bought  mountain lion, made a bootable flash drive.
I booted from it and it went to upgrading right away!
So I stopped it and went to my former recovery partition I erased my HD because I wanted a clean start.
Now I can't instal mountain lion from the bootable flash drive, and keep getting "installation error. Try again."
and there is no 4 choices window.
I don't know what to do.

How did you create the USB install thumb drive? If it was with Disk Utility I have run into this problem and have since used THIS program to make the USB install drive.
As to your problem you only have one option and that is to Reinstall the Original OS X version that came on your computer or if you still have the Lion Recovery Partition use that to reinstall Lion. Or if you system came with Lion and you have No Lion Recovery HD Partition you can boot the system from over the internet and Reinstall Lion.
At startup hold down the Command+Option+r keys until you saa a spinning Globe in the center of the screen. Once that loads Repartition the drive as One partition and then reinstall Lion.
